    S3. General Tso' s Chicken
    Ashley F.

I shouldn't have cheated on my usual carry out. The place I like to go to is fairly far from my house, so I decided to check out something closer. I ordered the general tso's chicken. The only way you can order online is through Grubhub. They give you three options of how spicy you want the chicken to be: not spicy, mildly spicy, and spicy. I chose spicy. They said the order would be ready around 8:05. The food wasn't actually ready until about 8:30. I took a bite of the chicken and immediately noticed there was no spice. Not a punch, not a kick, not even a tap of spicy. The chicken was soggy, but the sauce wasn't too bad. I also had an egg roll, which was pretty good. They did give big portions, so I had plenty left over. But I ended up not finishing it. I'm not sure if I'm being generous with the 3 stars, but I didn't hate it. I'm just not keen on going back.

Very happy with my delivery and food!!! My husband and I were looking for tasty and affordable Chinese food. We finally struck gold, everything was wonderfully seasoned and big portions...plenty of condiments and napkins. Food was still hot! Vegetables are very fresh and presented wonderfully. Broccoli beef is awesome Broccoli was perfectly steamed. This place in my opinion can give panda express a run for their money! The orange chicken is the business!!!

Wish I could give zero stars. I ordered shrimp toast and complained to management and they didn't care. And said this is how they cook their shrimp toast and to them it's not burnt. Come on this is clearly burnt. They will receive no more business from me.

Every carry out is know for something this one has great general tso chicken, chicken wings and chicken lo mein. They have fair prices and good services. Quick and very convenient if you are in the area.

I totally love this place. I order from them a lot for delivery to my home. I also brought a friend with me to this place. The food is very healthy and so delicious. The staff was very respectful, nice, and provided great customer service. Great place for friends, family, and a nice date!

So I will NEVER order from this place again!!! The delivery wasn't too long of a wait and I didn't notice because I was cleaning up. Anyway....I ordered crab Rangoon, Phoenix and dragon (shrimp and general tso chicken) and a mix. The mix was cold and good! The perfect amount of sweet from the tea and lemonade. Now let's talk about this food.... So when did general tso chicken have a ton of onions? Like this dish was inundated with onions...BUT it only had 3...yes THREE pieces of broccoli‍ the smell was delicious but it lacked the flavor to match! So I was very disappointed as I was craving Chinese food. Now to the delivery which PISSED ME OFF!! First of all the delivery guy called and the call was somehow disconnected. I attempted to call back and he didn't answer. He called again but I could not understand him as his English was not good at all and his phone was cracking. I ended up going to the lobby to get my food and he started yelling at me. At first I calmly told him that it was hard to understand him and his phone was cracking. He proceeds to yell "the door locked" yes I know I live in a secured building. He kept yelling "no pin no pin" I told him that he was rude and that I would never patronize this establishment. I'm glad I said that because I ended up picking the shrimp and chicken and ate a little rice. This food will be going in the trash take my advice....DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!

This was my first time here and after many failed attempts in Laurel for some good chinese I was a little sceptical. But tonight I was really in the mood for some good old Chinese and decided to give it a try. We got sesame chicken crispy beef vegetable lo mein chicken fried rice and chicken & broccoli. The crispy beef and sesame chicken was very good nice and crispy and the sauce for each was tasty as well. I will say next time I'll pass on the chicken & broccoli the texture of the chicken was very slimy and just unappealing. Since I like to see where my food is cooked I did go in and it was your typical carryout small counter couple tables and chairs kitchen in the back but the place was clean. Overall i was pleased fast service and good food next time I'll try the delivery but this is my new go to Chinese in Laurel.

    Hot and sour soup awesome!

I ordered the Rib Tips and Pork Fried Rice for pickup. Honestly, I was hesitant because Yum's has really gone down in quality over the last few years, but I was hungry and just wanted to grab something fast. I wouldn't say I completely regret getting it, but it definitely wasn't worth the extra calories. Let's start with the Pork Fried Rice. The one thing I'll give them credit for is that it wasn't greasy. But the lack of flavor completely messed it up. It was so bland that I actually had to bring it home, re-cook it in a pan, and add some garlic butter just to give it some life. The Spare Rib Tips were another miss. They gave me a really good amount of food, which I appreciated since I was hungry, but the meat was very chewy. It almost tasted like the tips were a bit old. I ate it because I was hungry, but this place consistently fails to meet the standards they used to have. Unfortunately, this is no longer a good takeout spot, and I definitely won't be going back.

We called just after the maximum time window we were given (75 minutes). They said that the food had just left and would arrive shortly. I called back after another hour and asked them to cancel our order. They said "yeah, okay" and hung up the phone without asking what order I was calling about. I called back and they directed me to Menufy to cancel since it was an online order. The people at Menufy were great, but when they called the restaurant they said that the food was delivered, refused to refund the order, and apparently swore at the customer service rep from Menufy. I don't know what to say because the food was never delivered, we have a Ring camera and can prove that. Hopefully we get our money back. Well, we apparently won't get our money back. The store is refusing to allow Menufy to issue a refund. Our crappy review stands and we're out $61. Hope it was worth it, Yum's!

We have been familiar with the area for years, as my father-in-law lived 3 minutes away, and recently we realized this was his go-to carryout. After 3 visits, I can say it's one of the best in the DMV, thanks to its flavor and food choices. You will find Japanese options like sushi, American-Chinese dishes like orange chicken, similar dishes, and Cantonese food like roast duck, Hong Kong-style noodle soups, and whole fish. They are family-owned and operated. Every time we come, the elder father is always gracious and provides excellent service. The restaurant is always quiet; you can hear conversations in the back, and as customers arrive to pick up their orders, we haven't witnessed any negative interactions. Customers are always happy with their food, and the staff say thank you. The only negative is the space. The building itself is older and outdated. In the summer, it is hot, and now in the winter, there is no heat. They have found ways to make it work, like space heaters on each table, but it can still get uncomfortable if you are dining in. The back area near the bathroom and the bathroom itself need a thorough cleaning. To me, it's a turnoff; it doesn't affect the food, but it does affect the dine-in experience. Again, overall, I love their food and believe it's a local gem worth a try.
