Seafood Tom Yom Soup

Update!!! The food was delish!!! The pork dumplings were fresh and fried to perfection...the string bean chicken was very tasty and was seasoned to perfection with the string beans had the perfect crunch to them. The lunch lo mein with shrimp was pretty good also!!!! Our waiter was great as always!!! Decided to go in for lunch because last Saturday we ordered takeout and it was terrible!!!! So we had to come in and see if the quality had really dipped.....NOPE NOT AT ALL!!! We guess it was just one of those days this past weekend...food is still great!

Carryout

12.25.22 My husband made reservations for 8 at noon on Christmas. He was told that it was supposedly their busiest day of the year. Perhaps for dinner, but for lunch it didn't seem necessary as there were a lot of empty tables at that time. Typically if we are home to celebrate Christmas, we have gone to another Chinese restaurant that has dim sum and a lazy susan, which makes it easier for communal eating. Our friend wanted to try a different restaurant this year so we suggested Asean Bistro as it's one of our favorites. They have received several recognitions including being among one of the best restaurants in Baltimore in past years. Upon arrival, my first observation was a musty odor permeating in the restaurant. Typically we do carryout if it's just us dining. It's been a while since we dined in so it looks like they have updated their decor. Unfortunately they do not have a lazy susan so we each ordered individual apps and entrees. Our table was not large enough and felt tight. My husband ordered the subgum wonton soup and kung pao chicken. I ordered the shrimp toast and the peking duck, which I shared with our friend as they do not have an option to order only half. I loved the shrimp toast and peking duck. The toast was crispy and shrimp cooked perfectly. The duck skin was crispy, had the perfect amount of fat, and the hoisin sauce wasn't too sweet or salty. Our friend and I agreed that they were generous with the pancakes. At other restaurants, you have to order extra. They only sell Coke and Sprite. Our friend's daughter wanted Dr. Pibb. Also, their juices are limited so our friend had to order lemonade for one of the kids. Few suggestions for restaurant: -offer more variety of sodas and juices -update Fivestars app if buy one get 1/2 off dinner is not available on Christmas. Expiration date on the app said yesterday was the last day. -use odor eliminator products to freshen the restaurant -provide a lazy susan for the one round table in the restaurant

This was my first visit to this establishment. We had lunch here the lunch special is $9.25 which is very good for the amount of food they give you. I tried Orange chicken with jasmine rice nice flavor. The dipping sauce for the egg roll was tasty as well. The wait staff were pleasant. The ambiance was peaceful and relaxing . I will visit again.

Combo LoMein Honey Sesame Chicken

Looking for "Chinese" food during trip between airport and home 3 hours away. Found this on a Google search. Lovely understated decor restaurant with good service. Menu had nice variety of selections not your usual fare. The food was hot and portions good. Unfortunately food was unimpressive. The Hot & Sour soup was thick and bland with very little other ingredients. The Spring Roll was hot and well cooked but filling lacked much flavor. The combo LoMein had absolutely no flavor. I had the Honey Sesame chicken. Large pieces of chicken well cooked but sauce was also lacking any destinctive flavor. We had leftovers and I will see if it is better today. The prices were a bit high for the quality of what we ordered.

Seemed expensive, small portions left no "leftovers" I think Dorsey Hunan is a better option

My family and I had an outstanding dinner at Kong Pocha. We visited on a Sunday evening around 7 PM…read moreand didn't have to wait at all. We were seated immediately in a booth that comfortably fit our party of seven. The atmosphere was relaxed, quiet, and welcoming, which made it easy to enjoy dinner and conversation. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. We ordered our drinks, and they were at the table in what felt like less than 30 seconds. It honestly seemed like our server turned around after taking the order and another staff member was already coming around the corner with our drinks. I ordered the whole bone in soy garlic fried chicken, which came with a fresh salad. The chicken was everything Korean fried chicken should be. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The soy garlic glaze was absolutely incredible. It had the perfect balance of sweet and savory while still letting the crunch of the chicken come through. The rest of our table ordered two curry chicken rice bowls, a spicy chicken rice bowl, pork soft tofu soup, the Kongbination, plus edamame and fried dumplings to share. Every dish that came to the table looked photo worthy. The presentation was outstanding, and the food tasted every bit as good as it looked. One thing that really stood out was the portion sizes. Kong Pocha definitely doesn't skimp on food. Every plate and bowl was generously portioned, and almost everyone left with leftovers to enjoy the next day. The only small downside was the beer prices. Around $11 for a Sapporo and $7 for an Asahi felt a little high, but honestly, the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the overall experience more than made up for it. Parking was easy during our visit. The shopping center has a decent sized lot, although I could see it getting a little tight if all of the neighboring businesses were busy. It wasn't an issue for us. Whether you're a longtime fan of Korean food or trying it for the first time, Kong Pocha is a great choice. It's perfect for families, groups, date nights, or anyone looking for authentic Korean food with generous portions and excellent service. We left full, took home leftovers, and were already talking about what we'll order the next time we come back.

It's not a bad thing, but if you want a meal for just yourself, I would recommend asking your waiter how big your order is. Food was very delicious and left there very full and satisfied

Tried their K-Chicken Sandwich and substituted the fries for coleslaw. The sandwich itself self is made with chicken breast which is seasoned well. It is topped with cucumber salad and mayo. Simple but all the flavors work well together. The coleslaw adds a balance to the meal with a bit of sweetness and freshness. The space is large, there are TVs, has a bar and appears to be a great for a chill night or day for drinks and food. Staff was friendly and food came out quickly.

I ordered the six‑piece soy garlic wings with fries, and he went with the spicy chicken strips and rice. When he arrived at the restaurant, about 15 minutes away, the order wasn't quite ready, so he had to wait a few minutes. When he picked up the bag, it felt light, so he checked and realized my fries had been forgotten. They corrected it right away, and they were very generous with the portion. My husband thinks they may have added extra to make up for the oversight. One thing I really appreciated: despite being carry‑out, nothing was soggy. Our wings, chicken strips, and fries were still super crispy by the time we sat down to eat, which is rare. With how expensive food is these days, we felt the lunch menu was reasonably priced at $11.99 per entrée. I've definitely missed dining here, and I hope to take advantage of their weekday lunch specials, available from 11 to 3 PM, more often.
