Tried their K-Chicken Sandwich and substituted the fries for coleslaw. The sandwich itself self is made with chicken breast which is seasoned well. It is topped with cucumber salad and mayo. Simple but all the flavors work well together. The coleslaw adds a balance to the meal with a bit of sweetness and freshness. The space is large, there are TVs, has a bar and appears to be a great for a chill night or day for drinks and food. Staff was friendly and food came out quickly. read more

3.6.26 Hubby treated me to lunch on my telework day, so we placed a carry‑out order from the lunch special menu. I ordered the six‑piece soy garlic wings with fries, and he went with the spicy chicken strips and rice. When he arrived at the restaurant, about 15 minutes away, the order wasn't quite ready, so he had to wait a few minutes. When he picked up the bag, it felt light, so he checked and realized my fries had been forgotten. They corrected it right away, and they were very generous with the portion. My husband thinks they may have added extra to make up for the oversight. One thing I really appreciated: despite being carry‑out, nothing was soggy. Our wings, chicken strips, and fries were still super crispy by the time we sat down to eat, which is rare. With how expensive food is these days, we felt the lunch menu was reasonably priced at $11.99 per entrée. After striking out on food at kung fu tea on this same block, Jeremy decided on bonchon. We waited about 20 minutes for our order. At least is was wonderfully cool and pretty much empty inside, so I didn't feel like I was in the way while we waited. I suppose people usually wait at the bar, but that doesn't work for people who rely on wheelchairs. He ordered tenders but did not get tenders. I don't know why it's so difficult to check your order before leaving the restaurant, but I rarely remember to remind him. He said the wings he received instead were tasty, but we were on the move and he had been looking for something to eat while we were in rush hour traffic trying to get to pasadena. It was entirely too hot to ride with the windows down in order to chuck the bare bones onto the median. He ate his sandwich instead. Though he didn't get any ketchup so the fries sat there looking all sad at me... Jeremy doesn't eat fries that often but I love them. However, unless you're Thrashers boardwalk fries, I'm gonna need ketchup. I find bonchon a bit expensive for what it is, and don't usually eat here. I called and someone identifying themself as the manager told me that they're training some new people (apparently their entire staff) who just don't know any better. Is the first step of training not teaching your employees to put what people order into the bag? Whoever is the manager--or whoever is claiming to be the manager over the phone--needs to stop making excuses for their staff. I've been hearing a lot about this place. As is my custom, I got way too much food this 1st time cos I just wanted to try stuff. This time, it was worth it. Let's start with the chicken since that's why you're here. I got the 6pc mix: 2 drums, 4 wings. korean bbq and soy garlic flavors. At first I couldn't tell the difference between the flavors, but after my 2nd wing of each one, it became more apparent which was which. I preferred the korean bbq because it was a bit more bold, but both flavors are very good. The chicken was still crunchy after the 15 min drive home. The meat in every single piece of this chicken was tender and juicy. Every bite felt new, so this is definitely a made-to-order situation. I'm not sure they season the chicken itself; I think all the flavors came from the sauce, but it was still delicious. And I've never seen chicken legs this massive in my life. It took me 12 bites to finish one, and I was eating it as I normally would; my bites aren't small. I want to take this time to thanks the chickens for their sacrifice, and the cooks for their service. I'm looking forward to trying the other flavors, and I imagine it'll be even better if I eat it in the restaurant instead of drive it home. The first thing I actually tried was the bulgogi fried rice because I knew I was just going to take a bite to see if it was good, and it is. It has the required slightly greasy mouth feel, the seasoning is very balanced, the green onion on top is always necessary cos it cuts through everything and gives a different texture and bite once in a while. I'll be finishing that dish tomorrow while I watch the House of the Dragon season finale :D The kimchi was also good. I've had lots and lots of kimchi. I can't always handle the real Korean kimchi since I'm very American, but this kimchi has a nice balanced flavor, it's not too spicy, the cabbage has a good crunch to it still. The pickled radish was ok. I wanted a bit more flavor in it, but I suppose since it's supposed to clear my palate, having more flavor wouldn't make sense? But it did just kinda taste like radish water. Maybe that's the point. It did clear the palate, though, so there's that. I came early afternoon on a Saturday and it was pretty slow. Place was clean & quiet, TVs has the olympics on, as they should have. I had to wait about 5 minutes for them to finish up my order, so I just sat at one of the nearby tables. It's been a while since I've been to a Bonchon, so here's a comment on my experience at this location. We were seated immediately (it wasn't busy on a Sunday evening). The chairs were a little dirty, so I asked someone to clean them for us. Service was very slow, despite being pretty empty. We ordered the combo with 4 drumsticks and 8 wings, half soy garlic and half Korean BBQ. We liked the soy garlic better. The Korean BBQ was too sweet. We should have just ordered wings for the two of us. The drumsticks were too large. We got the pickled radish. I usually love it, but it tasted a little diluted (not as sour, but some people may like that). The seasoned fries were really good. I would order it again. We ordered the fried rice with the spicy chicken. We like to eat spicy, but this was easily some of the least flavorful fried rice I've had. It had a very spicy burn with no flavor, and the chicken was shredded (I would have preferred pieces). I would definitely NOT recommend this dish. Overall a better place for lunch and I would do the soy garlic wings only with seasoned fries. read more

Came here on Saturday evening and the restaurant was fairly empty. We got seated immediately and our server was wonderful. She filled our water and checked on us very often. Amazing service. The food was great too, large portions for the price. The tacos were delicious! We also ordered half spicy half garlic and the spicy ended up being way too spicy for us to enjoy and we were able to replace them with the garlic which was so kind. If you do not like spice or have a low spice tolerance, the spicy wings may be too much. While I was eating, I noticed something moving near the food. There ended up being an ANT crawling around our table which made me very uncomfortable if there were more around. It cannot be sanitary for ants to be crawling around tables. I have attached a video for proof as well. When we got the bill, we noticed that the tipping recommendations were by far incorrect. My bill was $20 and the receipt claims 15% of 20 is over $5. I decided to tip 15% which I know for a fact is $3, so I was very surprised to see it was actually $5.68, almost double of what I tipped? It is incredibly careless and bad business practice to assume your customers are stupid and cannot do math. Do better as a business because putting incorrect math on a receipt to take advantage of your generous guests does not encourage customers to return. read more

Date of service: 11.24.23 staff is always attentive and eager to take your order or seat you. There's never been a time when I come inside and the majority of the tables are taken. Great service! Food: Delicious and made to order. Always hot! Many choices to choose from and most dishes are shareable so you can split the cost. Ambiance: while the ambiance is not intimate the lights are dim enough to go with the decor inside. They make good use of the dining space with plenty of standing rooms for the lines that form. Gender neutral restrooms and there's always some great music playing. Added bonus: There's a bar that you can sit down and enjoy some cocktails and they offer a discount with the boba tea spot a few doors away. You just have to show your receipt. Service was probably the worst I've had in a while. Our server essentially sat us, brought us water (which he didn't refill once empty), forgot to give us utensils, and only brought us a drink menu after asking. Once we ordered food he never came back to our table to check on us, so we never got to order drinks. I've had it previously and it was a top tier menu item before, but this really sealed the deal for me. The kimchi was just 2 large pieces of kimchi the size of my hand, the bacon was burnt black, and there was hardly any egg in the rice at all. I could only bring myself to eat some of it so I didn't feel like I wasted the money :(( I could tell the meal was not fresh and there was not much attention or care put into preparing it. The chicken pieces were tender and juicy. I especially liked the spicy pieces (I ordered the half spicy and half of them garlic soy sauce). The garlic flavored ones were pretty good as well. My wife really enjoyed the fries and garlic pieces. Both flavors really soaked into the breading: made the individual bites super flavorful! For those that say it's $50 for only 18 pieces of chicken must realize that the drumsticks are super large. The wings are no slouches either. The whole process took about 20 minutes. 11.2020 2nd visit to this franchise, 1st to this location. I have been hearing about this place for years. They had one closer to my home that I did venture out to try and I did not like it. It's been at least 2 to 3 years since visiting, so I said hey, I will try again today. I'm glad I did. I ordered my food by telephone while shopping nearby. Initially I planned to run in to get my food to bring to my car to eat since I was unsure about the safety precautions considering Covid is going on. Once I actually entered, I noticed social distancing and cleanliness was a priority and I decided I wanted to stay to eat my food. I asked the young lady who I just paid for my order to if I would be able to sit at 1 of the available tables and was told I can't because I ordered my food ahead of time by telephone. I just paid $18 for 10 wingettes and a side order white rice... I didn't think asking to sit down inside would be that big of a deal w seating visibly vacant but it was and they already have my money so I left gracefully. I sat my car and ate my food as initially planned and it was absolutely delicious! Although I was unhappy about being forced to sit in my car, I would most certainly eat here again. We arrived at 1100 to a spotless restaurant with tables marked off for non-seating (spacing protocols), and we were seated quickly. I finally got to try the famous bonchon I've heard so much about since moving to Maryland. We got the Korean Fried Chicken, pork buns and Takoyaki for take out and all of it was delicious. Holy moly the spicy fried chicken was definitely spicy, I felt my nose start running immediately lol. Definitely will clear out your sinuses! The pork buns were amazing!! I would go back just for those I think. The pork belly was crispy and the sauce was complimenting. The Takoyaki was interesting to say the least. It tasted good but I wasn't a fan of the texture. Placed an online order for 3 items for a total of $32.97 (before tip). Went to pickup my order and was told my order did not go through their system properly and therefore was not ready. Was told they could just order it as a carry out and I could pay at the store. Hostess put in an order for the SAME 3 items and gave me a total of $55 and change (before tip). I called them they told me they use DoorDash for their delivery service and told me I have to contact DoorDash. I've been to this location twice -- once for dine in and other time for take-out during COVID-19 time. The employees are really nice and helpful. The seating and interior are nice. Bonchon is known for their chicken, so that's what we always get. I can't speak to other dishes at this location, but I've had their bulgolgi, salmon avocado ball, japchae, bibimbap, and takoyaki at other locations and thought they were decent. The prices at Bonchon are on the higher end for a casual eating joint. I highly recommend the family meal for $33 if you've got ~3 people, which is 12 wings and 6 drumsticks, plain fried rice, and 2 sides (pickled radish, fries, or coleslaw). I definitely recommend the soy garlic flavor, bone-in wings, and pickled radish! The pickled radish comes in large containers when you order take out and is really refreshing to have with the chicken. The chicken drumsticks and wings are large and are moist, crispy, and sweet/salty. I remember spicy was too hot much for me, but I'm not a huge fan of spicy in general so take that as you will. The plain fried rice was actually pretty tasty, although a bit oily, no protein, and not a huge portion for a normal price of $12. Parking is easy -- big parking lot with abundant free spaces. The chicken here is much more crispy as visible in the photo I attached! Since it's crispy, it has less sauce compared to the strips in Ellicott City! My friends have raved about Bonchon for years, but I'd heard the menu wasn't exactly on the healthy side. I was under the impression it was Korean fried chicken, so I wasn't in any major rush to clog my arteries. However, Friday evening during a break from playing endless games at Main Event, a friend and I wandered by Bonchon and decided to eat there. We had our temperatures checked then settled in to a table to peruse the menu. I was actually quite surprised at the variety, it's not all high calorie fried chicken. I mean, there were A TON of high calorie options, but they had a lot of just regular Korean entrees (and I LOVES me some Korean food). We both got the bibimbap, me the spicy chicken, him the seafood (minus squid). We both dug in and fell in love. The bibimbap was amazing, as good as I'd had an any Korean restaurant.
