The bun bo hue here was pretty good. They give you a lot of protein which is great. The pho was also good, but my Vietnamese mother-in-law found the broth to be on the saltier side. They also give a lot of fresh veggies. One bowl of pho is almost $17 (for the dac biet). When I went today, there was no AC so it was really hot. There were also a few flies flying around possibly from the entrance door being opened & closed so often. The female employee working there was friendly, nice, and outgoing. It seems like just her and the cook. read more

Came with 3 friends for lunch. While it os a sit-down place food was served very quickly. We each got some variation of pho and it was very good. I found the broth a bit salty but good otherwise. They provide a giant plate of toppings - basil, sprouts, etc - for the table. The place was clean and my water cup was kept full. A success in my book! Pho - Rare Steak When I ordered I wasn't told that this is no longer served rare as listed on the menu. The steak was tough and cooked is overdone that it was inedible. They also cooked the onions too. I didn't even eat the pho because of how off putting this was. By the time I got home to open and see this monstrosity, they were closed. Oddly enough she opened and showed me all of the other take out boxes before I left and didn't do that with the Pho. I called the next morning and the lady cited that the Health Department told them they can only serve the rare steak for dine in. No offer to refund just the apology. Which with the price of food, I felt like I should've been provide with some kind of compensation for the missing information when I ordered. Had I known in advance, I definitely would have skipped ordering Pho. So be warned not worth it to get pho to go if you like the rare steak versus the dried out over cooked well done they send you with. Egg rolls These were just okay, they were fried well just lacked flavor in the contents. The plum sauce was overly sweet, so much that it was like eating spoons of sugar. This also dish was inedible. Vermicelli chicken The chicken had a nice ginger presence from the marinade. The sauce that comes with it was also overly sweet. Which was off putting when added to the entree. Decent portion size. I am not sure why they add sooo much sugar to all of the meals. I found the flavors were too Americanized for my palette. It wasn't for my soul, maybe it's for yours? read more

Casual, chill place to get amble portions and seasoned Pho. I went here based off a friend's recommendation since they know Vietnamese people who claim it's authentic. We both got a vegetable tofu pho with beef broth. The broth was salty but flavorful. A good amount of veggies and rice noodles were there too. No complaints about the service. The best pho I've had in the DMV so far! The pho here is outstanding I had the meatball, cow heel, and beef, and everything was fresh, tender, and absolutely delicious. I was excited to find a Pho place close to where I was working. This place has very mixed reviews but I had to try it since I have no Pho restaurants where I live. I ordered rare with fat brisket. The meat was okay, the fat brisket had no fat on it, but I guess that's better for my health. The broth was very sweet. It did not seem homemade. I will not go back there. The service was okay. read more

Pho, the traditional Vietnamese noodle soup, has gained international popularity for its rich, aromatic broth and fresh ingredients. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at a local pho restaurant that far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked through the door to the final spoonful of broth, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made this restaurant truly unforgettable. As I entered the restaurant, the scent of simmering broth and fresh herbs immediately awakened my appetite. The space was clean, cozy, and inviting, with soft lighting and tasteful Vietnamese decor that set a calm and pleasant tone. I was greeted right away by a smiling host who seated me quickly and handed me a menu filled with a wide variety of dishes--not only different types of pho, but also traditional appetizers, rice plates, and beverages. The service throughout the meal was outstanding. The waitstaff were attentive without being overbearing, always ready to answer questions or make recommendations. My server was patient and helpful when I asked about the difference between rare beef pho and brisket pho, even suggesting I try a combination of both. My drink arrived within minutes, and the steaming bowl of pho followed shortly after. The speed and efficiency of the service impressed me, especially during a busy lunch hour. But what truly stood out was the quality of the food. The pho was absolutely delicious--one of the best I've ever had. The broth was rich and flavorful, clearly made from bones and spices that had simmered for hours. The noodles were perfectly cooked, soft yet firm, and the beef was tender and juicy. Fresh basil, lime, bean sprouts, and jalapeños were served on the side, allowing me to customize the dish to my taste. Every bite was comforting, flavorful, and authentic. What also made this experience memorable was the attention to detail. The utensils were clean, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable for such high-quality food. Even small things, like the server checking in to ask if I wanted more napkins or offering to pack my leftovers, added to the sense that the restaurant truly cared about its customers. In conclusion, this pho restaurant left a lasting impression on me. It combined exceptional food with top-notch service and a comfortable atmosphere, making it the kind of place I would recommend to anyone. Whether you're a longtime pho lover or someone trying it for the first time, this restaurant is sure to offer a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience. read more

17$ for pho is outrageous. I called and asked for beef shrimp pho. She said 17.22. Then I asked how much for chicken pho and she said 17$. For someone who deals with Americans everyday and runs a business in Glen Burniebshe struggled extremely to have a conversation with me. I just don't understand why you would run a business in America and take no initiative to learn the language to a point where we can discuss pride point and menu items. It's not like I want to have a discourse on American literature. I just want to ask questions about what you're selling. Your menu. It shouldn't be this difficult. And your pho should not be 17$ when you just gave me broth and vegetables with some chicken Also the place was filthy. I've overlooked it in the past but it is what it is. read more

So after my friend and I had eaten, and were just sharing some after dinner conversation, she paused mid-sentence, her eyes caught on something on the ground. Suddenly she said "I'm ready to leave". The food was amazing! This was my first time trying Pho so I was super nervous, I ended up ordering the beef brisket pho and a Thai iced tea. Everything came out super fast and the service was great. The restaurant isn't really big so it gave it a nice intimate atmosphere which I enjoyed. Will definitely be returning soon read more

I wasn't super impressed. I was told by a friend to check it out and was sadly super disappointed. The restaurant was pretty dirty with trash on the floor, Christmas balls in May and the table could use a good scrub. The soup had the strangest gravy flavor versus pho broth. Service was friendly but I'll stick to my other pho spots for the future. read more

One of my favorite pho places, I always come here and will continue coming here because the pho is just so good. The broth is delicious, both the spicy and the regular broth. There is always fresh greens in the pho, and it comes with a side of basil and limes. I love how they give multiple limes as some places only give one. As for the service, the woman working there is always very friendly. Overall great experience every time I go, I highly recommend this place over other places in the area. read more

Craving pho on a weeknight when your usual pho spot is closed. Gave Pho Tran a try since it was the next closest spot and not that far of a drive. Ordered 3 pho (two beef and one chicken) and a vegetarian spring roll for us. I was surprised that this location precooked the meat and I wasn't disappointed. The meat was in smaller bits but possibly more in portion. The best part of pho is the broth. I could drink it for DAYS!!! So flavorful and tasty. I was bummed they didn't have any bean sprouts so I didn't have a little crunch with my soup. The broth made up for it. The spring roll was okay. Nothing spectacular. Overall, I would go back because of the broth! read more

This place really surprised me. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The pho was good, but not the best since I've had better ones before. The noodle and rice dish we ordered was the best. The meat in both dishes was so tender and flavor full, and the vegetables in the dishes were very refreshing and really completed the dish. I will be back! read more

YUM!!!! My fiancé is Asian and that's important to note because he LOVES this place. It's authentic, flavorful, friendly and just the best. I had the veggie/tofu pho w beef broth. It was served piping hot and stayed hot til I slurped the last drop! The veggies were super fresh and there was a mix of fresh and fried tofu which was nice. I loved the broth so much. Mark had tripe/beef pho and he loved it too. Super fresh and piping hot. Tons of flavor...like soul nourishing flavor. I can't wait to go back. Our server was the kindest lady. I felt really taken care of like she was my mom or auntie. We also had summer rolls w shrimp. They were perfection! I'm shocked at any bad reviews of this place but I heard it changed management so that must be the explanation for the old reviews. New management is very very good. Vietnamese native here! The couple that owns his restaurant are so sweet. The husband is a bit more shy/quiet, however the wife is nice and is a social butterfly! Every time I've seen her in the restaurant, she is having a full on conversation with almost every table she tends to. 5/5 I've had the bun bo hue and pho. The Bun Bo Bue is my go to at any Vietnamese restaurant. This is how I can tell if the restaurant is legit or not and I would say it's pretty good. Can't compare to authentic soup in Vietnam, but this satisfies my needs. 4/5 I'm very picky with pho because I've been spoiled with the way my dad makes it for me. It's a hit or miss at Pho Tran. I've had it twice and the first time, it was a bit watered down and lacking flavor. The second time it was BOMB.COM. My partner loves the pho here, specifically Pho Tai. So overall, I would recommend getting the pho. 4/5 Keep supporting local businesses! Their friendliness is enough of a reason to return. read more

Hole in the wall pho spot in the ShopRite lot that once was Pho 98(not a great spot) is now a place I like a lot. So let me tell you what's hot: the spicy pho they're dishing out is spicy. They aren't taking the word spicy lightly - that being said, the broth was super flavorful and I'm not sure I'll be able to try and order a different kind when I go back as I'm still thinking about the complex broth of the spicy pho. I had the pork and beef variety and the pork came in the form of sausage - had a rather odd look and taste that I'll just go without next time. The sliced beef was tender and had good flavor. This soup came with a thicker rice noodle akin to a thick spaghetti with a somewhat udon consistency. We also had the chicken broth pho. It was good, had a nice refreshing flavor. If anything negative it was a tad on the sweet side. The chicken was really good! Thinly sliced white meat that was succulent and not at all dry. The shrimp garden rolls were crunchy and refreshing, a little heavy on the romaine and a little light on the vermicelli. I'll still get an order every time we go I'm sure! Service was prompt and friendly, and the pho is served in... well standard pho sized portions so for an average of 10 bucks a bowl it's a great winter spot for a filling meal that's very on the affordable side of dining! read more

very good food and owner Service and ambience. good place for dinner and lunch and price is also good

I have come here before and have had awful service. I have also gone and got "okay" service. It really depends on what servers are working that day. The pho comes with hardly any meat, but the broth is alright. Nothing spectacular. Depending on who is waiting on you, you have to beg for water refills and the side of basil that normally comes standard at other Vietnamese restaurants. I wish they would start selling avocado smoothies because I would actually find this place worth the frustration. Their boba bubble tea with the iced tea plus condensed milk is tasty though, again, depending on who is working. You will literally get ten boba pearls in your drink though... but plenty of ice. :( read more

I recently had lunch at Pho Tran. From what my local friend shared with me this had previously been Pho 98. Although I cannot compare it to the original ownership, I thought this spot was pretty good. I ordered the fresh spring rolls (called garden rolls) here. I also had the shrimp pho. The was only one size which the portion was fine. I did like how the shrimp already had the tails removed. A major plus in my book! The service was very attentive and courteous. My water glass was refilled very frequently. If I'm in the area I'd return. read more
