First things first. Mai Dragon and Mai Dim Sum are one in the same. It is a bit confusing but it is the same. Anyway, I love me some dim sum! The last 2 places we went to though, sadly were disappointing. Mainly because I want my dim sum to be hot, not cold. If I wanted cold dim sum, I can goto H mart and pick some up from the freezer aisle. But they were closer so the kids wanted to go there but I refused. I would rather try a different place and fail than to go back and fail at a place that failed before... twice. Well, the service here was great. And it's less crowded because it was a bit out of the way. The food came out hot. We got down to business and ate all of our favorites. The food was flavorful and most importantly, hot. Not every dish is supposed to be hot though so you need to know the difference. Anyway, everyone enjoyed it and got home for a nice long nap.

I really like this place and I'll be back. Everything was really tasty and lots of assortment. Only negative was the Chinese broccoli was cold. I tried to flag someone down and after a few attempts we just decided to eat some then take the rest home. I'll get the string beans next time.

Came in for a lunch date with the wife and enjoyed some delicious dim sum! The inside is pretty with some simple tables a couple TVs, and a nice back room for overflow and events. Waitstaff greeted us quickly, got us our drinks and then showed us the standard menu and the dim sum. There's a paper menu for you to check off which items (by number) you want and then they'll bring them out as they are ready. And some of the dim sum came out quick! We got our siu-mai (super porky and delicious - would get again), shrimp dumplings, and lo-mai-gai right away. The lo-mai-gai is interesting and a real punch of flavor: very sticky rice with some vegetables, scallops, beef, and pork. We also thoroughly enjoyed our chiar-siu BBQ pork baos and Chinese broccoli. We also got a couple of the sweeter options which were all a nice way to end the meal: The Ma-Tei-Gou cake is different but tasty. Chunks of water chestnuts in a gelatin mold with a light oil (sesame?) that gives a shredded apple vibe. The egg yolk baos and nice and sweet and the egg custard tarts are a real treat. For the amount of food we got, it could have been a much more expensive meal but the prices are pretty reasonable and the food is filling. I would come back.

Note: first menu pice are for the Mai Dragon and the last one is for the Mai Dim Sum side. They limit the selection to only steamed orders after 4. So we're in the Ft. Meade area to visit our daughter on the way to an RV rally and mama suggested Mai Dim Sum as she tried to dine here last time she was in the area but there was NO dim sum menu for after 4 PM. Had the pork bao buns and shrimp dumplings and both were amazing. Apologies for the pics, but the food looked so good we dug in before I could get snaps at delivery. Service was great, with several different servers making sure we had everything we needed. Some great looking options on the Dragon menu that may bear further gastronomical investigation in the future. Highly recommend this place if in the area.

We were in town and was craving dimsum. Found this place and hoped for the best. Serving is good. We had a few dimsum and an order of the salted fish fried rice and salt and pepper shrimp. Shrimp was so bland, we were very disappointed. The fried rice was good. Service for the dimsum was swift but the shrimp came out when we were practically done eating. And it wasn't even seasoned well, smh.

They really should give this place a douching out. Just feels unkept and dated. The dim sum was some of the lower grade premade and frozen then steamed. Try the duck that was recommended on Yelp and again some of the worst version of roast duck. This is a reheat by microwave roast duck with water down soy sauce for the dipping. Also order the soy sauce chicken which was also a poor attempt to pass this off as soy sauce chicken. There was too many pieces of cut up drum sticks in that little plate to be a 1/4 order chicken. The use more legs than whole chickens and sneak in xtra drums for more profit. And the chicken is a generic market purchase chicken, not the fresh chickens. Soy sauce noodles was the only item made ti order but the dish that came out was much smaller than the pic. I'll post the dishes

There's not a super huge selection but they have the basic popular staples. I only came for dim sum and haven't tried any of the other items they sell. The ladies on the carts come by and offer their choices and let you know what's what. You pick and hand them your card they tally up your order. Everything I tried tasted pretty fresh and delicious! It was just enough to satisfy my craving for dim sum. Service was quick, restaurant was a little tight knit together but it works. Prices were decent and plenty of parking !

I haven't inhaled food like that in quite some time. Was really craving dim sum and this place did a great job! Service is SO fast which is the best part. You mark your sheet with what you want and in the blink of an eye, all the food was here! It's not the traditional experience where you have to wait for the cart to come around but it's more efficient when you are so hungry. We tried a lot of the dishes. Our faves were the buns/dumplings with chives (the filling and the actual bun itself were very delightful) and the egg tarts which were flaky and perfectly sweet. Some other thoughts: - The shrimp dumplings (ha gao) were packed quite full which was good. - Shumai were average but large. - Cha shao bao had cooled down when it came to us. - Cheung fun were thick but needed a bit more sauce as well. - The fried bean curd shrimp thingy was very crispy which was a nice additional texture. Some things that could be slightly better: - needed some sauce on the table - you have to pay a little extra for tea which is slightly annoying The whole place carries a lot of nostalgia with the somewhat tacky and unmatched decor and the zodiac place mats. COVID precautions: - they take your temperature before you enter and make you put on hand sanitizer - the place is quite large and there are few customers so there's a lot of space in between diners Glad I made the trek for dimsum and will be back again!

We drive 2 hours to eat here. The food is fantastic but service is outstanding! Great Sunday brunch spot as you can even watch the games!

We had a 7:00 PM reservation for seven -- planned largely around my son's birthday request and his love of Dim Sum. Unfortunately, Dim Sum isn't available on Tuesday nights, which was a minor disappointment since our previous Sunday visit gave us the full Dim Sum experience. We shifted to ordering family-style and were genuinely pleased with the meal. The Moo Shu Pork, Peking Duck, Chicken Fried Rice, Mápó Dòufu, and Bok Choy were all flavorful and well-prepared. Everything came with won ton soup and tea, which was a nice touch and added to the overall experience. The atmosphere feels authentic and comfortable, and the staff was friendly throughout the evening. The manager tried to steer us toward several suggested dishes -- it was a bit unclear whether this was purely helpful guidance or an effort to highlight readily available items -- but we appreciated the input and did enjoy the bok choy recommendation. Pricing was reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. Overall, despite the Dim Sum surprise, it was an enjoyable and satisfying dinner. We would absolutely return -- just on a weekend next time for Dim Sum.

The classic Shu Mai is just glistening with flavor. The Har Gow had huge pieces of shrimp. The Cheung Fun was so well made and moist. But the star of the show was unexpected - the Salted Egg Yolk bun. Whoever is the baker back there needs a raise. The Yolk Bun was so fragrant and doughy (almost like Mochi)... we were in awe at how good it was. Now you may be questioning why I didn't give this place a 5 star with such extremely positive remarks. Well... THE CART LADY NEVER CAME BACK! I swear if you see the cart you better order everything at once. The food is extremely well-made, but the cart service really waters down the experience. Idk why they only have 1 cart lady on a weekend, but I hope they makes some changes in the future!

The rice cakes and the salty sticky rice roll are pretty good. My wife was craving the chicken and broccoli w/ brown sauce. I was not a fan of this dish. The broccoli tasted bitter and the chicken seemed low quality. I wouldn't get this dish again. The noodles with scallion sauce was good. The noodles stuck together and the scallions in the dish were bitter, but the taste was decent. I can't fully score a place based on delivery, but if you're in the mood for Shanghainese cuisine, this place isn't a bad option.

There's plenty of parking in the lot just outside from the restaurant. Seats around 20 mostly at tables for four, with probably 20 more tables in the attached tea-house next door. We arrived in the early afternoon on a Friday, and there were only two or three other full tables. We ordered from a touch-screen by the register at the back counter. Food was served in take-out containers, and looked fabulous. We asked for plates, and collected up our chopsticks and forks and sauces and napkins by the register. We got the 6-variety "rainbow" soup dumplings, a sticky-rice roll, and a cucumber salad. We got a soda, and it would have been easy to get tea from the attached next-door tea-house. Salad was fresh and flavorful and generous with a bright cilantro dressing. Every dumpling was hot and juicy and tender, with good flavor. We felt that fillings were good, but not extraordinary. The "crab and pork" and "truffles and pork" dumplings were predominantly pork. The sticky-rice roll was dense and lightly flavored, nice with soy and vinegar sauce. And there's more appetizers and cantonese-style dishes available. This place is ultra-casual, almost fast-food in style, and better than fast-food in food flavor and quality.
