11.16.24 Rainbow soup dumplings were flavorful and succulent. So that I didn't make a mess, I squeezed and slurped all the broth prior to taking a bite of the dumpling and the dumplings were still moist. I loved the variety of being able to try six different types of filling which included pork, spicy pork, chicken, shrimp and zucchini, crabmeat and pork, and black truffle (pork). It would honestly be hard to pick my favorite. Each one tasted distinct even the broth. I believe this was previously named something else and likely under different ownership. During that visit, I had suggested in that review that providing a soup spoon would be easier to eat the dumplings. Fortunately they had soup spoons during this visit as the last time I made a mess all over myself.

Got my dumplings as take out and wanted to try a little bit of all kinds of dumplings so we got a good variety to share. The black truffle soup dumpling and the shrimp pork chive dumpling were outstanding. I could eat a whole batch myself. The pan fried dumplings were exactly what were promised, but the amount of filling was inconsistent and I like my dumplings a little fluffier. They may have been denser because I got it as take out. I'm not sure if it would be different had I eaten there. As for the scallion pancake, I would not order that again. It was fried and that's not the way I prefer it. Over all, I would go back, but I think now that I've tried it, I am more oriented to know what I would and wouldn't like on the menu.

I come here every couple of months to meet my family half way. Now after a few times I have found my way around the menu and have selected my faves. The black truffle pork dumplings I believe are the most flavorful of the soup dumplings. Nothing beats shoving that delicious sweet cherub in your mouth and feeling that broth explode in your mouth. The pork chop is no joke, the best item on this menu. Marinated then deep fried to perfection. Have it over soup. Have it over rice. Have it by itself. It's amazing. The ladies making the dumplings are always so nice and flirt with my kids. It's a small place but man, it's so worth the drive to this place. If you're in the DMV, they have multiple locations!

Delicious way to taste around all of the dumpling flavors available! My favorite dumpling was the Black Truffle Pork Dumpling. Get ready for pork, chicken, shrimp and crab meat! Service was courteous and you can see the dumplings being made live! The ambiance was one for eating in and taking out, nice and petite. Ellicott City definitely had a gem!

I went back to the Dumpling District and took my friend with me. She loved her rainbow soup dumplings. I ordered the spicy chili wonton with peanut butter. It was interesting with the peanut butter but I my preference would be just to have the spicy part. I am glad I tried it . It was still good, not a fan of the peanut butter. I would love to try the pork appetizer and my friend ordered it and loved it!

We came for the first time on a Saturday evening at 5:30 pm. It was not crowded yet until 6 pm. You place your order with the cashier or kiosk at the front counter. There is a lot to choose from the menu so you may want to study it beforehand on their website. Everything we ordered was made fresh so we waited 15-20 minutes. We tried the pork soup dumplings (6 pieces), pan fried pork buns (6 pieces), and steamed Shanghai Shu Mai (4 pieces). Your number is called at the counter for pick up. Everything was tasty, but not large. The dining area is small, but you can also sit next door at tables for Kung Fu Tea, which has a larger space. Only these 2 businesses are currently part of Luna Hall. The only negative point is the price, which is $1-$2 higher than other dim sum restaurants, considering that this is a not a sit-down place with wait staff. We will return to try entrees next time!

After trying soup dumplings for the first time I was looking for an option that didn't require me to travel out of state to satisfy my cravings and this is now my go to restaurant for them! Their mala soup dumplings are my all time favorite and to mix things up I usually get the black truffle soup dumplings and pan fried pork buns to split as well. The food is excellent and the staff are very kind, they also offer dim sum and bubble tea options as well. There are two seating areas which are clean and inviting with nice decor including a graffiti wall. Not a massive restaurant but definitely a good spot for a group of up to 8 people. We have been repeat customers since we discovered them and through some changes to the menu and branding the food has remained high quality.

The ambiance, the lighting was so cute!

If you're looking for quick and delicious food, head over to Dumpling District! On this cold and windy day, I was craving dumplings. Their rainbow dumplings were right up my alley and they were perfect for a day like this. My boyfriend ate the spicy stir fry noodles and they didn't disappoint. They had the perfect amount of spice, sauce, and the crunch from the bok choy was delightful. Our cashier was friendly and patient with us while we decided what to order. Overall, this was a great experience that I'd highly recommend.

I want to preface this by saying that when you get to the location, the name of the location is Luna Hall, but they do share the dumpling shop and a tea shop. We thought we were lost, but not to worry, this is the place! We ordered the spring rolls and the rainbow soup dumplings and they were sooo good! My favorite was the spicy pork. It was a bit of a challenge eating it because it's filled with soup but all of them were delicious! I'd love to come back and try their dim sum.

Came for breakfast around 11am. Ordered savory rice roll. Good fillings. Also pan fried soup dumplings. Six per order. Definitely enough for one or to share. Everything excellent. Also very clean.

My actual review is 3.5, but we got takeout and I'm guessing everything would have been a little better if we'd had it right out of the kitchen. I placed a large-ish order online. It was ready on time, correct, and clearly labeled. The soup dumplings had obviously lost some soup, but were still very tasty (black truffle was the overwhelming favorite). They were a little flat, but again I think if we'd had them right away they would have been great. The baos were also good, and the scallion pancake isn't quite what we are used to but still nice. Kids are already talking about what they want to order next time, so that's pretty high praise.

If you're a fan of dumplings, make sure to visit The Dumpling District. This eatery is a popular destination for those who love this delicious delicacy. The restaurant boasts an extensive menu that caters to a wide variety of tastes and preferences, ensuring that everyone can find something they love. Whether you prefer steamed or fried, meat or vegetable-filled, spicy or mild, The Dumpling District has got you covered. Food: If you're a chicken enthusiast, you absolutely must give the pan-fried chicken buns a try. These delightful buns are incredibly soft and pillowy, providing the perfect base for the juicy, flavorful chicken filling. For an extra zing, consider adding a dash of vinegar to add a bright and tangy kick to this comfort food. For those looking for a colorful, eye-catching dish, for your Instagram: Order the Rainbow Soup Dumplings! The Flavors: black: pork & black truffle green: shrimp and zucchini yellow: chicken white and yellow: crab meat red: mala (spicy pork) white: pork If this is your first time: I recommend starting with the rainbow dumplings so you figure out your favorite flavors for round 2! I love seafood, so I endorse the shrimp and zucchini soup dumplings. These dumplings are a perfect fusion of flavors and textures that will leave you craving for more. The light seafood broth provides a subtle yet delicious base, while the sweetness of the shrimp is complemented by the pop of the zucchini. Even if you're not particularly fond of zucchini, the dumplings are so well-balanced that you'll find yourself enjoying every bite. Five s! Indulge in the savory and rich flavors of the delectable pan-fried noodles, which are served with chicken and a medley of vegetables. The distinct umami taste is derived from the pungent oyster sauce, which blends perfectly with the earthy notes of shitake mushrooms and the delicate crunch of baby bok choy. The noodles, crisp and golden-brown, provide an exquisite contrast to the soft and tender textures of the buns and dumplings, making every bite a divine culinary experience. Service: When ordering food I recommended to place your order with the staff at the register instead of using the kiosk. The staff is friendly and helpful, and are happy to answer any questions. All dishes are made to order and are packed in containers, even if you plan to dine in. Additionally, diners have complimentary lemon water to enjoy. The staff even provides vinegar and soy sauce for an extra punch of flavor. Finally, after your meal, the owners will check in with you to ensure you had a positive experience. I can't wait to come back! Ambiance: The dining area of this establishment is designed for a fast-casual experience while maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere. With a seating capacity of up to 20 people, the space is perfect for a cozy gathering with friends or family. The highlight of the dining experience is undoubtedly the ability to observe the chef at work throughout the glass, enhancing the overall ambiance and providing a unique touch to your meal. Overall: Family-owned and operated, Dumpling District offers delicious dumplings in a variety of flavors, including pescatarian and vegetarian options. It's perfect for meeting up with friends and sharing everything family style! In addition to dumplings, they also serve non-dumpling options like noodles, fried rice, and rice cakes. As a bonus, Boba Tea is conveniently located next door.

Not for me. Spent nearly $50 on 4 dishes (bao buns, potstickers, shumai). Buns were super dense and greasy(see pic), not fluffy and steamed as I expected. Overall prob just not my kind of food, but took a chance. Onion flavors overpowered everything. Didn't take leftovers home. Nice and clean restaurant. Friendly staff.

We went on a Sunday for lunch and was expected to be greeted with chaos (at least that was our experience at other dim sum places). The dim sum carts seemed to be making more frequent rounds than what we were used to and the servers were locked in. We had a pretty large party and it felt like there was a never ending flow of food (and variety) the entire time. You do get the "typical" dim sum experience/ambiance of carts rolling around everywhere and servers asking you if you'd like to get anything, so it's a great experience to bring someone who hasn't had dim sum yet. Would totally recommend for parties of all sizes and we'll be back. They do advertise sushi, but can't speak too much on that because we stuck solely with dim sum that day.
