I absolutely love Akira. Whenever I want Ramen, Akira is my go to. Food is always fresh and hot. The service is Top Tier and I even have a favorite table. I love the decor with the Japanese Cherry Blossoms...... it just feels like home!

The menu has a nice variety and its easy to find something whether you're craving something classic or a little more adventurous. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming with a modern asian vibe. The staff were wonderful and very accommodating, friendly and had our food out quickly. The ramen is a rich and delicous treat especially on a cold day. While it's not the most mind-blowing ramen I've ever had, it's consistently good and definitely worth coming back for when you want a decent ramen fix.

The food was delicious and this was my first time eating here. My cousins suggested we go but unfortunately I couldn't get a picture of their food as they started in as soon as the waitress sat it on the table lol. Service was quick and the restaurant was decorated very simple to not over shadow the food.

This place is my go-to ramem spot. I come here at least once a month. The ramen is always rich, flavorful, and super comforting, and the service is consistently warm and welcoming. Easily one of my favorite ramen places to eat!

This was my first trip here after hearing many good things! I met up with an old friend and had a great time at Amira with quick, polite service and yummy food! I can't remember which bowl I got, but it was packed with quality ingredients as you can see in the photo. Highly recommend!

I have been meaning to try Akira Ramen for so long now after passing it for years, its a small restaurant me and my guest had a cute booth by the window , edamame, a grilled shrimp skewer the shrimp were perfectly grilled and delicious, the ramen we chose to share was the beef ramen and switched the pork broth for chicken broth we also ordered extra noodles , all the dishes came out quicky and were piping hot , i love the ramen here .

This ramen joint had a great variety of ramen soups to choose from, as well as rice bowls and sushi. Decor is spacious and clean. Our waitstaff was very patient and helpful (especially in answering questions about the menu). I ordered the vegetable ramen, perfect choice for a cold day. Soup base had good flavor, noodles were plentiful and perfectly cooked. The toppings included generous amounts of blanched bok choy, marinated shiitake, wood ear mushroom, bean sprouts, red ginger, corn and silken tofu cubes (plus 1 nori square). Even better is that the menu will let the diner know what type of broth (pork, chicken, ect) is being used for the dish. The vegetable ramen used a plant-based broth which we appreciated.

Came to Akira for ramen and enjoyed the shrimp tempura ramen I ordered. I got it with veggie broth and had them make it spicy, so I really enjoyed it. They don't serve alcohol by the way, but they allow you to bring in your own drink, which is very interesting. The service and my overall experience was good, so I'll stop by again whenever I'm craving ramen.

I have visitors in town and we were all craving some Ramen so of course I hit my favorite source, yelp. Found this spot and we immediately headed out. It's in a large shopping area so there's all the stores that you and we didn't have any issue finding a parking space. We arrived on a Saturday evening, Labor Day weekend and were immediately seated. Everything we had was yummy. Flavor was great. Portion sizes good. Service was excellent. Everyone loved their dishes and I would highly recommend indefinitely go back.

This location is byob only but has amazing friendly service. Other locations are an actual izakaya (a bar). . Akira Ramen & Izakaya is a reliable chain to satiate your ramen or gyudon cravings. Side note, I love spice but: - Volcano ramen is a bit intense - Get the regular Akira, hot sauce on the side - Spice level control is winning. . かんぱい!

Food was delicious and the service was phenomenal! We ordered the tonkatsu ramen, Kani salad, fried tempura, and ofcourse California rolls for the kids. Everything came out on a timely manner. Our server B, was fantastic. She definitely has great customer service skills. We will definitely be back!

    Volcano Ramen: delicious!

Three words: ONE PAGE MENU! This usually means they only do a few items, but they do them well. In the case of Akira, that could not be more true. Ramen and a few other dishes are done expertly here! I have been hoping for a good ramen joint nearby in Crofton. There are a scattering of local gems in neighboring towns, but you would have to go to Annapolis at minimum before Akira came here. I was so happy! I had tried the location in Columbia just before the pandemic shut everything down, so I was slightly familiar with the brand. Needless to say, I was excited, but as with anything new, cautious at first try. Wow, what a great bowl of ramen though! While you can customize your bowl, their original options are so delicious by themselves, you might never need to craft your own bowl. I'll just leave it at that, whatever you like in your ramen, even just noodles and broth, they have you covered! Beyond the ramen, the rest of the options are equally delightful. My last visit, I tried the katsudon, for instance. This is a panko-breaded fried pork cutlet, with Japanese curry sauce, white rice, and an assortment of pickled veggies. Oh... em... gee. So good! They also recently added a yakitori menu, I want to call it? Basically skewers of grilled meats and veggies. Also, new shumai and... Brussels sprouts? Interesting option! I haven't tried the latter yet, but I've had both shumai (pork & shrimp) and one of the shrimp skewers. All of these options were very good, definitely solid and tasty additions to the menu. Overall: I love a great bowl of ramen at any time of year. Savory, full of umami, filling, complex, yet simple. It's just a lovely dish that always works. Crofton desperately needed a great ramen joint to compliment the other amazing food options out here (like our Vietnamese and Mexican joints). Now we have one. I plan to be a frequent visitor to this Ramen-Ya going forward!

The chicken and pork ramen are pretty good for a chain ramen spot. The chicken is fried so not very traditional but still delicious.

The place itself is in a shopping center with ample free parking. I had the dinner bento box with teriyaki chicken and it was a LOT of food for $19.95! Besides the chicken, there were udon noodles with some broccoli and carrots (yaki udon), 6 bite-sized California rolls, three fried shumai, and about 1/2 breast of teriyaki chicken. Plus a salad and cup of miso. Just want to say, all of the ingredients were fresh and the veggies were crisp-tender, yum. I generally avoid chicken breast dishes because they tend to be too dry. This was borderline for me. Very tasty teriyaki sauce, etc., but the strips of chicken were dry to being almost inedible for me. I'm picky that way ;) My DGD enjoyed her ramen and DD liked the Pink Lady roll. Out the door with tip, just over $57 and that's a bit ouchy for me but we all have leftovers, so it works out to $28 per meal, I guess that's not bad. I would like to try some other menu items, and DD said she wants to take DGD there for lunch sometime. So it seems we will be back.
