I have to say I'm pretty impressed with this fast service spot. They were were quick, super friendly, and the food was actually very good. They ask what sauces/toppings you'd like once it's ready and any utensils or chopsticks you'd like. The service was truly great. I'm pretty impressed by Quick-Way Japanese Hibachi. I'm not really a hibachi person, but I wanted something different and my nephew swears by this place, so I stopped in one day. The concept is simple. You order your meal, it comes with either white rice, fried rice, or noddles, they cook it fresh to order and then your order number is called to pick up your food. Just that simple. I ordered the chicken and shrimp with veggies and fried rice and a side of spring rolls. I added a little more teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds at the end and I was on my way. Clearly this place has the right name because it was a very quick process. The restaurant itself is very clean and you can either dine in or take-out. Vegan options are available, beverages are offered and whatever you do, don't forget the yum-yum sauce. Other items are offered such as sushi, bento boxes, spring rolls and much more. Deliciousness from a strip mall. For under $10 you can get an order of Chicken Hibachi and regular fountain drink. The staff is really friendly and the food is delicious. The chicken for the Chicken Hibachi is cooked on an open top grill doused in teriyaki sauce and placed atop your choice of white rice, fried rice or noodles. You can also add veggies. When you order is almost ready the ask you if you want more teriyaki sauce. Uhm yes please. They also asked you if you want sesame seeds. If all that was not enough they give you this mysterious yum sauce that taste like a thin thousand island dressing on steroids. I would definitely recommend eating here. read more

Want fast, good Asian food? I find Quickway to be the answer. My favorite spot is the one in Bowie in the newer shopping center across from Freestate Mall. It's clean and the staff is fast and nice. Bowie is not overrun with good Asian options so Quickway is especially welcome. This is one of our go to spots when we get hungry while we are out and about running errands. I usually get the chicken teriyaki with lots of sauce over white rice. Hits the spot. If I'm really hungry I can finish the whole thing. Much like the ubiquitous Sarku you find in a lot of area malls, this is a fast-food hibachi spot. The flavors are close enough to make them almost identical, but that is a good thing as you know what to expect. The chicken is both white and dark, and you'll get bits of tendon on occasion. Makes for an unsettling bite if you're not expecting it. The beef will be similar, at times I've bit into a really tough tendon, but it isn't a deal breaker. Not like you can see it in the mass tubs they keep the meat in when it's on the line. The veggies are steamed and taste fresh, the rice is decent, whether you opt for fried or steamed and there are options if you want to add more meat or what have you. I've never had their spring rolls or any of their other offerings, only hibachi beef or chicken and the meals are quick and tasty. I go to this one because it is the closest one to me, though there is another in Mitchellville that is slightly better as they cook it a little longer so the meat's not so soft. As this one is still relatively new, I imagine they'll get better as they go. read more

Okay the "newness" factor has worn off for me. Quickway you can no longer fulfill my hunger for "Hibachi on the Low" . I was first attracted to the low price of $5.95 for Chicken Hibachi w/ Stir-fry Mixed Vegetables and Steamed Rice. Like who wouldn't be? It was good while it lasted but now I'm definitely not happy with he quality of the chicken anymore after my most recent visit. I would rather for Quickway to increase the price and charge more just for better quality chicken and protein choices. Based on the texture I would guess its dark meat chicken which I would prefer white meat grilled chicken breast. As I stated in my previous review of Quickway, I was definitely not a fan of the quality of the Steak or Shrimp hibachi. I know they also have Salmon and Tofu as well, but if you cant source quality chicken then I really can't try your salmon and why even bother with Tofu (lol). So "Sayonara" (good bye) Quickway! They will give you any combination that you ask for and make it really easy to build the plate the way you want it. I recommend the chicken and shrimp. I always get extra shrimp and extra yummy sauce. Sometimes I do noodles and sometimes I do fried rice. Happened across this place while trying to decide what I wanted for dinner, Japanese sounded pretty good. Initially I was a little worried that the price might mean subpar quality ($22 for both of us, including tax and a drink!), but all my worries were completely unfounded. I'm actually not sure I've ever had better asian-style vegetables from any kind of takeout or fast food place or possibly even a nicer sit-down restaurant that I was this happy with - they weren't soggy or wilted or drowned in sauce or mostly stringy sad radishes or any of the usual problems, it was crisp, well-cooked green broccoli and cabbage. Husband was a little sad they wouldn't let him sub an avocado or vegetable roll for the California, since he doesn't eat seafood, even though the sushi was all priced the same, but we get that that's just a practical thing where some people will try to take advantage if there's not a hard rule. The sushi I did get was kind of disappointing, too, but it's not a sushi restaurant, so not a big deal, especially given the price and how great everything else was. The meats, for example - I got beef & shrimp, husband got beef & chicken - were all excellent. Like the vegetables they were only gently sauced so you could appreciate the actual flavor of the actual meat. (They do offer you extra sauce if you're into that kind of thing, though!). I'll have to try salmon next time I'm here. The portions were very generous, too, especially for a $10 combo - rice, meats, 2 spring rolls AND 2 dumplings, four pieces of sushi, vegetables, plus a surprisingly delicious creamy orange sauce. Normally I'm not here for those, they're always spicy, but it was mild and sweet and I have no idea what it is but I was delighted to dip my spring rolls in it. Also, the place looked really nice, especially for a strip mall. All the tables and seating were undamaged and polished, the whole thing was well arranged and spacious, it was nice and quiet. The repeated advice from those of whom I asked usually included the words "large portions" and "cheap." The choice was a no-brainier, or so I thought. Once I had finally reached this location and ordered, the anticipation of my soon to be full stomach blinded me to a clever yet delicious profit margin; the ratio of meat to rice! It was devoured and gone quicker than Usain Bolt out of a KKK rally. To my chagrin, my mouth and stomach demanded additional satisfaction of which was more than my wallet would agree to dispense. A clever illusion, I must say. I left defeated by my own lack of judgement while feeling somewhat cheated. Yet, knowing that I could do far better in the land of the east (Crofton, Osaka Buffet) for the same delicacy at much less expense, I found solace in the consolation of times yet to come. We were patient though and continued our order. Then he didn't even take our order down so we get here and they yell again at us and are extremely rude. Not only did it take a ridiculous long time, but when I asked the cashier to cancel my order because I had a meeting to get to, she said only the manager can cancel orders. So I waited more.. Once it was ready, I quickly left and headed to my meeting--I opened my plate to find shrimp!! I am allergic to shrimp. What a waste of time! Waste of money! The food was great and hot. Once it's done cooking, they ofter you sesame seeds and/or scallions. I choose sesame seeds. I got an extra yummy sauce but it was not needed bc I only used one. They do not make your food over if it is wrong. The manager is VERY unprofessional!
