The restaurant was virtually empty and I was promptly seated. The menu is all pizza all day. Sissy and I got a salad and create your own pizza to share. The pizza was fresh, there wasn't too much crust and their signature sauce was top tier. The only issue I had was the veggies we selected tasted pretty close to raw. The pizza comes with 3 sauce options: classic, signature, and spicy. The signature sauce and spicy sauce are equally my favorite! The signature is a sweet and the spicy sauce has nice kick at the end. I decided to build my own pizza and topped it with onions, Italian sausage, and spinach. It's recommended to put a max of 3 toppings so the pizza cooks well. I love the spices in the Italian sausage and the sweetness of the caramelized onions! The wings are a must try (although a bit overcooked for my preference). The wings are smothered in spices and caramelized and paired with pita bread, overall a great flavor! The grilled Caesar salad is pretty tasty! It is served warm and emits a Smokey flavor from the grill (a bit wilted for my preference). 11/29/25: We came over with 25 people after a birthday movie at Regal theater. They do not accept reservations, but I communicated with a manger in the month leading up to presenting. The team was kind, respectful and eager to help. They put together tables and chairs efficiently and we got the lunch portion of the party together quickly. We ordered cheese and pepperoni pizza and several orders of wings. Everything was delicious and we left satisfied. Nothing to write home about. Thin and very plain tasting. The specialty pizza was much better. Very good. I had the double burger and it was very good. The onion rings that came with it were bad. Very greasy and they didn't come in rings. Sort of sloppy and not a good amount for $2.00 extra . The chicken wings were sort of average and the lettuce wedge was good but overpriced relative to the size. PRICES: For what we paid overall, this place seems to be a bit overpriced. Beer prices were very reasonable but the cost of a glass of white wine is ridiculous. It was $9.00 a glass and it looked like 4 oz. max. SERVICE : Pretty good overall and it was a bit busy for a Friday. Pizza orders were about 20 minutes plus. ATMOSPHERE: It was a comfortable atmosphere but a little noisy like most restaurants when busy. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. The food here is awful. Our table ordered a pizza, a meatball sandwich with fries, the crab and shrimp penne, and oven baked wings. The pizza was the only thing that was decent. The meatball sandwich tasted bland and so did the fries. The crab and shrimp penne had so much sauce but tasted devoid of seasoning. The oven baked wings are probably the worst wings I've ever had. The service was below average at best. We had one person waiting on us and then they did some sort of rotation and a new person waited on us but was never available. It took more than 20 minutes to get napkins after we got our food. It took longer to get the check. It was hard to have a conversation with the table because the bartender (on the other side of the wall) was so loud. He kept walking over to yell things at the other employees. I've been to Coal Fire Pizza once or twice before but was in the mood for some pizza & was in the Waugh Chapel area and decided to stop in. We were quickly seated at a table in the center of the restaurant, but we asked the busboy if we could be seated at a booth, and he was kind of enough to clean off a dirty table to accommodate us, and we really appreciated that gesture, as we have a one year old and booths tend to make it easier to control him. Lol. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our visit. Our server - Camy - was extremely short with us, and we commented that it was odd but we weren't really bothered by it - just an observation. Our onion rings came out at a decent time and they were good. Roman(our Son) & I personally enjoyed the dipping sauce. There was a horseradish base that surprisingly wasn't too harsh or strong for him. My Wife didn't like them at all, but she's also not the biggest onion ring fan, so don't look too much into that - they weren't the best but they were far from the worst. From there, we waited. And, waited. Aaaaaaaaand waited. No food. My Wife was extremely hungry & asked if we should pay for the onion rings & leave but we decided to be patient and wait it out. What was strange was that Camy never visited our table once. Not to check on us. Not to acknowledge the wait. Not to see how our onion rings were - Nothing. My Wife just reminded me that she did stop by once, & refilled my Wife & daughters drink, so I do want to be fair, but afterwards, she disappeared again. In all that time. It was at least 45 mins til we got our meals & there was literally no service in between. What was really confusing was there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant so the wait didn't really make sense to us. I saw Camy servicing another table & noticed the way she was carrying her drink tray & having been in the restaurant industry commented to my Wife: "Ohhhhh, she's newer to serving. I can tell the way she's carrying the tray. She's overwhelmed. I feel better knowing we weren't just being neglected." I promise I had settled in my mind that I would give them 3 stars out of empathy alone. I'm not a mean guy & don't use these reviews to bash anyone's livelihood. My Pizza - Prosciutto Cipolla - was good. I added bacon to it and it paired really well with the prosciutto & sweetness of the sauce. My Wife was underwhelmed with her Chicken Parmesan. She thought it was dry and even attempted to put more tomato sauce on it, but she just didn't like it. The kiddos enjoyed their Chicken tenders. After an ok experience, I was still going to give 3 stars, until we paid the bill and left out. Camy was still really short with us, and seemed in a hurry. Upon leaving, and seeing the other side of the tiny restaurant, I noticed why. Camy and two other servers were seated on bar chairs laughing, talking and watching the big screen. I'm not going to lie, this was offensive to me because the service here was so poor. I tried to make excuses for her, and never, not even once, gave her a hard time or a dirty stare. But to see that we were neglected, and treated as if we weren't worthy of an attentive server grinds my gears because we're good people and deserve to be treated better when we're spending our hard earned money. We still didn't say anything to Camy or management bc we try to be as unproblematic as possible but I was sure I was going to give them 1 star on my Yelp review until I got up this morning and thought it through. I wish I got that busboys name but who knew he'd be the highlight of our experience. For as bad as Camy was and as much as we were underwhelmed with our experience at Coal Fire, that young man does not deserve 1 star. Usually when I get coal fire it's take out before I go into work (the crab pizza and grilled Caesar salad). But today I sat down with the kid. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered everything at the same time, and my drink came from the bar quickly. The butterscotch old fashioned was pretty good, but I didn't taste the butterscotch in it (my whole point of ordering it was to taste that). The wings and salad came out next. The wings were jumbo, and crispy. I really liked that. The ranch was a little watered down but the wings almost didn't even need it. The salad was just a salad. They offer a grilled romaine Caesar salad that's really good, I'll get that on the next visit. Next the star of the Evening came out. I dont eat pork anymore, so I didn't taste it but the pizza looked amazing. It was full of pepperoni and Italian sausage, the spicy pizza sauce, and thin crispy crust. My son LOVED it. It literally made me want to go back and order a pizza for myself. Lol. My ribeye was nice and cheesy, the meat wasn't dried out, and it had a nice steak flavor. It needed a little more sauce, so I saved half for when I got home, which was still good when I heated it back up (and added some more toppings & condiments...lol) . My only gripe is that most of the tables are close (it's not a big spot), so it gets a lot loud if it's packed in there. On 04/05/2025, long story short, my door dasher stole my order of $150. Then, he lied and told the restaurant that the food was damaged when I had just spoke to him, and he was about a quarter mile away. After extreme disappointment, Door Dash cancelled my order, did not refund it to me right away, and I was forced to re-place my order. This time, I went to Coal Fire to pick up my order. When I arrived at Coal Fire, my order had not be made due to the issues with Door Dash, but the manager, Lydia, was very accommodating and made our order after speaking with her about the crazy trouble I had with the dasher and Door Dash. She was on the phone with Door Dash when I had arrived. The staff, Lydia, and Nique at Coal Fire were absolutely sweet , caring, and kept asking if we wanted a drink and appetizers on the house, but my sister and I didn't want to impose. Our order was made fresh there, and Honestly, this was the best customer service I've had in Waugh Chapel in quote a while. As we were leaving, Lydia gave us a note for a free appetizer. Which, I truly appreciated though it was not necessary :). As for the food... The pizza was delicious, the mozzarella sticks were some of the best I've ever tasted and you could definitely tell they were not from a box. The grilled salad was good as well, and the caesar dressing tasted homemade. The meatballs were too mushy and bland, and the buffalo wings were very dry. Just finished a great lunch with my 2 girlfriends, and we all have been raving about how great the food was here. We had a great server who handled like 8 tables by himself until his coworker showed up for their shift. It was a little dark inside the restaurant, but it felt more of a date night ambiance than anything else. We shared a few appetizers for starters. We had the calamari, which was tangy and tasty. We also had the little bruschetta app as well, and the cheese and tomatoes just were so delicious for the spring day we were sharing together. We ordered a white pizza off the menu. Surprisingly, the pizza crust turned out to be phenomenal. It seemed under proofed, but it tasted great. It's not a thin crust, and it's not a hand tossed texture, but it was light and airy inside. We had a yummy salad with a honey mustard, nuts, and tomatoes. The last thing we split was the Italian coldcut sub, but we got onion rings instead of fries. The girls didn't enjoy the onion rings because it was more of the batter than any actual rings of onions. The food is good and the restaurant itself is nice. However, the servers consistently gather in the kitchen. Over the past two months, I've visited three times, and each time it's the same -- whenever you head toward the restroom, you'll see all the servers congregating by the kitchen. On our most recent visit, we waited 10 minutes (I timed it) for any server to come by, and eventually had to ask the person making the pizzas to find our server so we could pay our check. If there is a manager on duty, they are clearly not doing their job, and the owner should seriously reconsider their management team. I made another stop at this amaze balls establishment and again, mad props to Natasha for running an amazing establishment. I was immediately greeted by Maya, an amazing fun spunky mother of two. She asked me what I wanted. I said some sort of mocktail. She said "bet" and returned with what I can only deacribe as the best strawberry and basil mocktail situation served over exactly 13 pieces of ice, which she explained as "this is the optimal ice to mocktail ratio boo". Coal Fire has always been a nice spot to go sit down and eat but not today. Checked out pizza before leaving (ALWAYS CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE LEAVING FOLKS!) and low and behold the pie was black! Now, Coal Fire is known for having a slight char on their pizza. That is what makes it good, but for the entire pizza to be black and burnt? No bueno. So, like any unhappy consumer, we asked to have the pie remade. You would think that the manager would say "sorry about that, we will get this fixed" right? NOT TODAY! What we got was "you should have asked for no char." Hello? Your kitchen served up a black crusted pizza and it's our fault? Now, after the exchange the pizza got remade and for it coming out like it should have the first time they get 2 stars. Coal Fire used to be spectacular. Came in at 5pm for dinner. Servers and hosts are all sitting at the back table hanging out. No manager around. They left me at the host stand for a minute or two staring at them until one of them felt like getting up to seat me. After seating me, the host sits back down at the table and they continue their conversation. More than 5 minutes pass and another group of customers comes in. I guess this is finally enough for them, because the girl gets up first and walks into the back. Then the guys all get up, my server finally comes over to ask what we'd like the drink, the other guys disappear in the back. There is some yelling and whistling for attention from the people working in the pizza counter to the service staff. The service staff are laughing and BSing in the kitchen, but nothing is getting done. Food takes a long time to come out, refills are missed, no service staff to be found in the dining room 90% of the time. People left waiting at the front counter to get helped. I can see why this place is empty at dinner time. Food is good, but the service sucks. This place *needs* a manager to keep the service staff doing their jobs. Waiting at your table frustrated because your server wants to finish his conversation instead of asking if you need refills is really irritating. Should have sat at the bar, at least that lady was manning her post. I think we will skip this place on Friday and look for another pizza place. They are a dime a dozen. I am utterly baffled by the 3.5 star rating. This is some of the most original and delicious thin delicious pizza I have ever eaten. The signature sauce, sausage and kalamata olives pizza is my #1 favorite pizza of all time. The service is fantastic the onion rings are better than a bloomin onion, and I love a bloomin onion! This is a decent pizza place, but could definitely improve. Comes out piping hot which is great and the crust is yummy but the pizza itself is rolled very thin in some spots and gets soggy. The toppings are somehow never crispy? Also the main dealbreaker here is thar the service is very very slow. Conflicted review here... Sweet and Hot Pepper Calamari I was not a fan of... mainly because it was heavily fried and not lightly fried like I would expect calamari. I'm not a fan of the hot pepper but I did not take points off for that. Now the seafood pasta. It was nice and creamy. There were about 5-6 big shrimp. If you cut them up it would be large chunks and still plenty to spread across. The crab was less lump and more like backfin. I find the backfin (if it were backfin) to be a little more flavorful but underneath the pasta there was so much more crab hidden. Stopped her last night after my son's football game. Every Friday night is pizza night at our house. There is plenty parking. The location is in Waugh Chapel shopping Centre. The staff was nice friendly. We were seated in less Than 2 minutes. It's family oriented, and they also have wine, beer, mules, and other adult beverages. We ordered the BBQ pizza with a few additions. The pizza was amazing!! The kids menu had pasta and something else. Sorry that I can't remember. It was odd that they did not have a kid size pizza on the menu. So I had to order a 12" cheese pizza for my 5 year old because he only eats cheese pizza. There wings were so good. I will have to return to try their traditional wings. The shrimp and crab pasta was great!! I love the fact that it has jumbo size shrimp and not that baby frozen shrimp that most places use. The ladies room was clean. I suggest having paper towels to dry hands instead of a hand blower being that you have to pull the door to exit the bathroom. The prices were reasonable. Came to Coal Fire before a Girl's Night Out. There was a late night Happy Hour going on. 1/2 price 12" pizzas, 1/2 off premium rail drinks. We were confused on premium rail, basically Smirnoff Vodka, they have a ton a flavors. Plus they had quite a few beer specials going on. My gf and I sat in the bar area at the last open table. There was 1 bartender servicing all the tables and a full bar. He did a great job! He gave some recommendations, Smirnoff Watermelon Select, made with real watermelon, so good with club soda. We both went with the Bianca pizza, a white pizza with sliced tomatoes. She added meatballs to hers. The pizza was delicious. Could have used a little more cheese but delicious. We split a caesar salad - a little too heavy on the dressing for me, but otherwise tasty! The toasted bread instead of croutons was an unexpected nice touch. If they did shaved parm instead of shredded, it'd really make this salad shine. For pizza, we ordered a large Prosciutto onion (one of their standard pies). If you're like me and you prefer cured and not cooked prosciutto, you have to ask because otherwise they'll cook it. My only small issue with the toppings, is that the pizza is cooked so quickly that the onions didn't caramelize quite as much as I'd like, personally. I also would have liked the crust be a bit firmer to be able to hold the toppings, as is, you need a fork and knife. The flavor of the cheese/sauce was quite good though! read more

My wife and I had dinner this evening at this restaurant. The server was a young guy who wasnt good at all. No people skills absolutely lost. Weve been there before however its been a while. The last time we were there we had a incredible female, older server. Jaylen was horrible, absolutely. I believe they were short staffed. But that shouldnt excuset his lack of people skills. His tip certainly reflected what we felt about him as a server. Great service i certainly hope hasnt left us all. Ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Came complete with chicken bones. Completely inedible. Onion rings were drowned in oil and didn't come with anything to dip them in. Edible but couldn't eat more than a couple. Most of the $60 order went in the trash and was refunded through DoorDash. Places like this shouldn't be allowed to sell food to the public. read more
