They've always had good service- that's the only reason it's not 1 star. We've gotten pizza from here dozens of times, but the quality has apparently gone way downhill and Rocco's is participating in the whole "higher prices, less food" inflation that's going on since Cheeto has been in the WH. We got a Sicilian pizza tonight and it's not only about 1/3 of the usual size, but the thickness is about half of what it usually is. The crust was tough and dense, instead of the usual light, fluffy, and thick. We always get this same pizza. It's not the same. I threw my piece in the garbage disposal. My former neighbor used to recommend this place all the time so I figure as today is good as any day to try it out now. It's a classic no-frills pizza place you order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. There's ample seating at least for a Thursday afternoon. There are fountain beverages and it's possible to order wine and beer. The wine selection didn't look so good though. And the pizza the pizza is probably the best pizza Annapolis. We saw Rocco's in a nearby shopping center and the Jersey girl in me said let's go there knowing I'd grab a slice to also patronize the restaurant. Got a single pepperoni slice to go and boy oh boy did I make the right call! Argue with someone else but us Jerseyians KNOW GOOD PIZZA--great sauce to cheese ratio, right amount of crispy, crust was a little thick for ME but nothing too crazy(hence only giving 4 stars). We ordered 3 orders of mozzarella sticks, a meatball parmigiana hero, a cold Italian sub, and manicotti parmigiana with garlic sticks. We picked up the order and opened it at home. The mozzarella sticks were burnt, the meatball parmigiana bread was burnt at one end and so soggy as to be inedible, the cold Italian sub had very little meat on it, and the parmigiana cheese on the manicotti was burnt along with the garlic sticks which were also burnt. We stopped in the next day and spoke with the manager. He made it very obvious he couldn't care less. We will never order anything from here again. read more

I was on my way home today from Glen Burnie (I live on Kent Island) and I was really craving some pizza. I decided to check out Roccos Pizzeria in Annapolis, and I'm so VERY glad that I did as that was some of the best pizza I've had in a while!! The staff was excellent and friendly/personable, and the pizza was perfect and mouthwatering!! The crust was crispy and delicious but not overdone, the sauce was delicious, and the cheese melted perfectly and the pepperonis were tasty and perfectly done! Been coming here for 27 years and todays visit was no different - best NY style pizza in Naptown. Hands down. We shared an Italian cold cut served on daily made roll with fresh veggies and oil. Delicious. NY pizza XL was enough for four people and was so pipin hot we had to let it cool for a few minutes. I've carried out or had pizza delivered three times since the primary review. The pizza is good and they don't skimp on cheese so be careful ordering extra. My opinion, too much cheese for a NY style pie but that's a personal choice. I'm a fan of Sicilian style so I go with extra sauce and it all works out. The Sicilian is thicker than most and comes cut into eight slices. The crust is crisped to perfection. Love it. Can't do without when watching football. Freezes well too. After months of social distancing we finally went to visit our daughter in Eastport and see her new home. We ordered lunch from Rocco's, pizza, salads, and fried ravioli. We had delivery and Rich said the delivery man was very friendly and quite pleased with his tip. I thought the pizza was delicious, a bread-like crust, not too thick or thin. The sauce was good and not sweet, which I don't like. There was just the right amount of cheese. The salad was very nice and generous. I don't usually expect much from a pizza parlor salad but this one was fresh with a nice selection of toppings. I didn't try the fried ravioli but those that did raved about them. i read the reviews and appeared to be a sure thing as far as food. Yesterday, we ordered delivery which included Pizza Margherita and a lunch portion of Penne Vodka Sauce which included peas, mushrooms, and ham. - We live 10 minutes away and the pizza arrived cold. Penna was warm but needed a bit more heating in order to manipulate the vodka sauce. - This was not Margherita pizza. I lived in Italy...I know. This sauce was dense and heavy like spaghetti sauce. Margherita pizza sauce is thinner with flavor. - Mozerella was not quality and just a few nickel size pieces. - Basil was shredded and perhaps even dry Basil. Should be leaf basil and fresh. - Yep, the Penne Vodka Sauce had peas and maybe four mushrooms. The ham...don't get me started. It was deli ham cut into squares. No flavor. - Included side house salad with Penne dish and I had better ingredients and fresher produce in our fridge. Most of our dinner was placed in the trash that evening. I ordered the pizzas for pickup and it took 30 minutes and the lady on the phone was super friendly. When I asked for the 1L soda choices she went to go check to not let me know false information which I appreciated. The cheese melts in your mouth and the crust is crunchy and perfect. I waited to review the next day to see how the pizza was since pizza is notorious for being an easy leftover meal and it still did not disappoint. Their pizza has the perfect crust and is so delicious it took me forever to try their other dishes! I just can't pass up that pizza, but the other menu items are fantastic too. I got the NY Pizza with sausage, mushrooms and black olives. It was nothing special. The sausage was like Domino's or Pizza Hut -- Sysco-like machine made pieces. (A shame since the area has some great local Sausage.) Generous portions] of sausage. Mushrooms were put on the pie raw, not marinated or stewed. But lots of them. Sauce was thin and not too flavorful. Lots of good cheese. So, better than the chains, but not much. I'd rate it a 5 on a 1 to 10 scale (10 being like pizza from Passaic, NJ). Ordered a well done godfather pizza for delivery at 650pm. They said 45 min to 1hr. At 815, I called and they said it was just going out. At 820, they called me and said that they had to remake the pizza. At 850, driver shows up and charges full price for my 2hr pizza. I open it and it is complete mush in the middle and disgusting. I call and speak to the manager, who says it was so late because the driver couldn't find the house (I have ordered delivery several times before from them with no issue). I tell him that the pizza was mushy. He kept saying it was because they couldn't find the house. I have no idea what the real issue was, but I paid $30 for the worst 2hr pizza ever. Great Pizza. I've tried a good chunk of the pizzeria and Italian restaurants on MD's western shore and Rocco's was one Ive missed until recently. Having lived in both Manhattan and Chicago, I tend to be fairly hard to please with pizza. Rocco's crust is amazing 'almost' a true New York slice (like the one you get at 2AM for a dollar in that city). The crust was thin yet, pillowy with that slight crunchy crusty bottom that seals the deal. The slices are fairly large and the toppings seemed of good quality. I had The Godfather Pizza and it was amazing. I will surely be back for another pie soon. read more

Service has gone down the drain these last couple of years Today I called in at 2:07 was told 20 mins for a cheese pizza lite sauce and mozzarella sticks. I know they can be busy so I asked my wife to wait a little before she went to pick up as I watched our kids and World Cup game Wife arrives at 3:00 and was told it would be another 10 mins When I called and finally spoke to the person in charge for the day.
