God awful wings. They were freezer burned and had white streaks on them. Will think twice about ordering from there again

We go there a ton and we do like their pizza. We also go to Mod in a pinch, but i have been craving some real pizza I of course checked yelp to find any place remotely close to us and I found Angelina's. I was sold with her amazing replies to the misguided idiots who think this pizza place is anything less than amazing. I had been CRAVING a decent pizza. It's been since my last trip out of state since I've had anything remotely like traditional, cheesy, crunchy, savory goodness. After work on a Friday, my husband and I trekked over to Mayo. We wanted to check out the selection of desserts and settled on the yummy looking cannoli and went back out to our car to phone in our order. The place smells amazing. It's a legit pizza place and everything I was expecting. We waited an acceptable amount of time and went in for our pizza. The car smelled so good on our 40 min drive back home. We got home and honestly no one waited to reheat the pizza. We all just dove into the enormous, cheesy, deliciousness we had been waiting so long for. I was not disappointed. We have put Angelina's on our list of places to go. Worth the drive. Worth the wait. Worth it.

Sometimes you find a place that is so pure, and that produces such satisfying food, that it…read moreelevates its otherwise casual, small and mundane profile. Such is Angelina's in Edgewater. The place is located in a non-descript and, dare I say, run-down, strip shopping center (even that is too big and fancy a phrase for this establishment). The atmosphere is almost jarring, no organization, supplies are strewn about all over the place. There are signs everywhere: (1) the menu is on the wall; and (2) whining costs you $5.00 extra; and (3) you can work here but you have to be able to lift 60 pound bags of flour; and so on and so on. Family pictures are left, haphazardly on the counter and placed on the walls as if someone happened to be exiting the building during a fire alarm. It's kind of a mess. But, I tell you, the sandwiches I had there were some of the best Italian subs I have ever had. The meats were high quality. The add-ons were fresh, plentiful and beautifully balanced - just enough spice, just enough mayo, just enough oregano. The Italian dressing was excellent. The bun was substantial, strong enough to contain its ingredients and cushiony soft. Baked just that morning, said the owner, Angelina. Let's talk about Angelina. No nonsense. Get'er done. She is there for 1 reason - to make you the best food she can possibly put together. She's a little bit New York and a little bit of red neck Maryland, all balled up into the perfect SNL character. I heard about her difficulty hiring hard working people, I heard about her daughters, I heard about how tired she was today, I heard her say to call in my order next time because she doesn't like people waiting at the counter. In short, I love Angelina's Italian Kitchen. I look forward to my next meal from her. She is a gem and I hope she never closes her store. I highly recommend Angelina's Italian Kitchen.

It turned out to be the highlight, sitting at the "Chef's Counter" by the pizza station on the covered porch. (We are foodies, and always appreciate an opportunity to sit at a chef's table.) It was a fun spot with a great view of the action and personal interaction with two very hard working pizza chefs. We shared the beet salad, which was a nice start, followed by the skirt steak, the fungi pizza, and grilled asparagus. Everything was flavorful and well prepared. We also enjoyed a very nice Tempranillo with dinner. Our server, Stephanie, was excellent--friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to have taking care of us. Overall, a very enjoyable meal in a great setting. We'd be happy to return.

Our server was attentive and friendly, and that's the only reason this isn't one star. We ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and the pepperoni pizza, and they were easily the worst pizzas I've ever had. The crust tasted like cardboard: dry, crunchy with no snap or chew, and completely flavorless. The pepperoni tasted like nothing. There was barely any sauce, and both pies were flat and bland from edge to center. I have never left a restaurant without finishing my meal, and tonight I didn't even try. The potato pancake appetizer was no better. It had a sour aftertaste that made us push it aside after a bite or two. I genuinely don't understand the hype. The staff deserve a kitchen that matches their effort, but based on this visit I can't recommend the food, and I won't be back for pizza.

It's a very small location that's probably easy to overlook, but the staff was awesome. I ordered arancini (includes ground beef, which wasn't mentioned in the menu but I loved) and a large Margherita pizza, along with a bottle of grape Fanta -- I was SO EXCITED because all three of those things are items that I love and don't get to have regularly in restaurants. The arancini was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, exactly how it should be. Somehow it held its heat without becoming a lava bomb, and they're BIG enough that the six you get with an order is easy to split. The pizza was also a big size, with hefty slices. The crust was PERFECT, with a nice crisp and the typical floury texture that I'm used to in a good thin crusted pizza. The sauce on the pizza might be a little saltier than a typical eater is used to, but I love salt so I was thrilled It was also a solid crust that didn't get soggy or floppy, which is often an issue I have with margherita pizzas, and the crunch of the crust was perfect. There were a number of desserts available, too, but I was full enough from my actual meal that I didn't even get to try one of them. I'll come back for those, because this was a great spot!
