The best thing about this place was the music and the atmosphere. If you're going just for that vibe then please go. They have a hookah vendor on site for $65 if that's your thing. I was disappointed in the menu. It was very limited and on top of that you're forced to by a bottle of wine or champagne because they don't sell It by the glass. Specialty drinks are $19 and up and not worth It since it's watered down. I did appreciate our waitress. She was very accommodating and flexible with exchanging or removing items we weren't pleased with. The suya was really good and they have a generous amount. The jollof was good, mildly spicy. It took about an half hour for my spinach to come out. I cancelled It but the waitress still gave It to me to go. It was really good. I would like to see more food items added as well as wine by the glass.

My wife and I attended a birthday celebration here. It's located in a strip mall but don't let the outside fool you, inside is a really cool lounge environment. The staff was really nice and took great care of our party. The drinks were good as was the food. It took a while for our food to come out but we were there for the evening with friends so it was all good. The music was great but it did get a little loud as it got later for no reason. It does have a dance floor that's appropriately sized for the space. When we left we noticed that there were 2 security guards at the door which we thought was overkill for a lounge of this size. Overall our experience was good and would recommend it if you are looking for a nice lounge spot in the Bowie area.

From outside, it's not much to look at-located within a strip mall, not what one would imagine when hearing, but inside is transformative- swanky, classy vibe- with intimate seating choices, sultry lighting, beautiful decor- the ambiance definitely felt expensive. Sexy date night spot- Menu has ample choices-ranging in styles of dishes (stews, platters, soups, sides, etc) & types of sauces (& varying heat levels)- priced a bit on the higher side, but after seeing a range of the entire menu I would say the quantity & quality is worth the price. Each dish has thick pieces of meat- whether entire cuts of fish, large chunks of goat, or juicy chunks of chicken/beef-the meals were hearty portions (only woe- as the fish was large full fish pieces, lots of bones- takes a bit away from sexy date night when I found myself spitting out or picking for bones constantly) There wasn't a dish I didn't enjoy- top 3: seafood okra, ghost pepper goat soup, & yam bread (so dense & delicious)- the flavor profiles were so unique for each dish- powerful bold seasoning- large portion (easily two meals per dish) worth a visit if you'd like a different new date spot! hosts were fantastic; friendly, everything cooked fresh to order & they are attentive & welcoming while waiting :)

So we drove a good 30mins to get here, with anticipation from seeing this restaurant on a travel channel, but the original location is in NY. We get there, and its plenty of free parking. We ask for seating for 3 and we are told they are only seating individuals who booked a reservation. Totally understandable considering its Valentine's day. I dropped the ball folks. I didn't make a reservation. So I noticed a bar lounge which we were told we could wait for a seat to open up. As we were waiting a coupled jumped in front us and took a seat. The manager Claudia came to the rescue like the dark knight but with more grace. She mentioned she was willing to put us on the list for a table in the main dining area. I accepted her kind gesture and continued to wait for bar lounge seating to open up. A couple was kind enough to come over to us and ask if we were waiting for bar lounge seating. They offered their table to us as they were ending their night. There was a 2 man band playing in the lounge area that was very soothing to the ear. As I tried to help my mother get comfortable at the hightop table, I noticed she was having a difficult time getting seated in such a high chair. Guess who came to the rescue, you guessed, Claudia! She's the best, 100 grand, made me a real fan. So she came over and said our table was ready if we wanted a booth seating and we all know that's the best seats in the house. All I could think is look at God. The wait wasn't even long either. 10 out of 10 for saving the day. In addition our waitress was such a sweetheart. I mentioned a white malbec I saw on the menu that I was astonish to see b/c I never knew of such a thing. She bought me a small glass to taste and my God, I am a true believer Jesus turned water into wine. Its so clear like water but the taste is amazing. The food is so delicious. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very personalable. Everyone cartered to us. You would have thought we were the Obamas or something. As we were stuffing our faces, Claudia comes around handing out roses to the men/boys to give to their dates. Complimenting my son and his daper outfit she hands him a rose and tells him to give it your mommy. At the moment he lights up with a big smile as if he paid for the rose himself. I can tell he felt like a gentleman and good that he could give his mother a red rose on Valentine's day. That small gesture was very thoughtful and appreciated. I apologize for my essay, but they desired it. I love the service, the ambiance, the food, and service. I haven't seen my mother smile so much in a while. The owner was super nice and answered all of our questions. So, I would say the service was fine. However, he quickly explained how it was not a cigar lounge because the furniture would not be able to withstand the cigar smell, only the hookah one. There were approximately 10 people in the lounge, which made it "crowded". One thing I noticed was the decor. Nice furnishings and absolutely STUNNING photographs hanging on the wall. It gave a sultry vibe. They don't serve real food there, just bites. However, we didn't really inquire or stay longer than 5 minutes to eat. We had eaten at another location. The lounge is on the smaller side, which actually worked well for the event and gave it an intimate vibe. The owner was also very nice and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The menu is extremely limited, and you pretty much have to piece together a meal from a few items. I ordered the jollof rice and six-piece chicken wings. The wings were overpriced, overcooked, and had no flavor at all. The only options were sauces on the side (honey, ranch, or blue cheese), and when I specifically asked for honey drizzled on top with blue cheese on the side, that request wasn't followed. Even more frustrating, our server never came back to check on us or make sure everything was okay. The jollof rice was honestly the worst part. Instead of that rich, smoky flavor you'd expect, it tasted burnt with a harsh charcoal aftertaste. I've had jollof rice many times before, and this was nowhere close. I ended up sending it back. Because I was hungry, I forced myself to eat the wings, even though they were dry and lacked flavor. Overall, Myste Lounge has a nice look and potential, but the food and service really need improvement. A revamped menu and better attention to guests would make a huge difference.
