I think this is a spot I would come back to! Here's more details on my experience. So we walked in without a reservation. I contacted them earlier in the week and since Saturday was their grand opening, they let me know they weren't taking any more reservations but I could walk in. Strategically, we decided to go right at 5 pm when they opened, which was a great idea because an hour or so later it got packed in there. The service was a little slow but that is to be expected as they work out kinks, literally went on the first day they opened, so be patient if you visit them in these early days. The staff was nice and I liked the vibes in there. We ordered a lemon drop (with vodka) and mango lemon drop (with tequila). I will say, how the drinks came to us, they were not filled up to the top. I think I was just a little thrown off because I would have expected them to use smaller cups or fill the drink to the top, but I think they weren't filled to the top because there wasn't ice in them. So technically, I don't think they did anything wrong, but I just wanted more of the drink lol. Drinks were good but were on the sweeter side. We got the buffalo wings and the sauce was really good! Wings could have been crispier (weren't crispy at all) but that's a personal preference. Crab dip was a normal crab dip, so it was good, and our favorite was the salmon sliders. They were cooked perfectly and had good flavor. We did not order hookah but if you're wondering, it is $60. Parking is a little rough but since we got there early we found parking easily. Music was great in there too!

Grand Opening of the 505 Lounge and there are some pros & cons: Pros: beautiful decor, stylish restrooms, great music, DJ, and uniformed look. Prices of food (bar food: wings, dips, small bites) were okay. A lot of seating areas (just arrive early like we did). Cons: service was slow, long wait for drinks and food which was cold and the fries were tasteless. It took a long time to pay for our bill. Overall, I'm sure the cons will be fixed as the business continues and grows. Wishing you all the best!

Nice spot in my backyard. Friendly bartender I had, the guy bartender seemed to be very playful and should also practice better hygiene (handwashing after eating & licking fingers, then prepare customer drink) happy hour menu was reasonably priced. Wings kinda big in size if that's an issue for you. Drinks were ok. Only 2 suggestions would be: have staff not eat behind the bar (maybe designated area/booth) and to look into the sewer smell as you enter and near bar. After seating for awhile, your nose will get used to it but occasionally you'll get a fresh whiff.

A new lounge that you can get a quick bite, drink or smoke hookah. The food was good and the bartender was helpful when asked for options.

This review is for the food not the service…read more The interior gives off a nice vibe and they have a set up for a live band. I'm sure when it's peak time it's live in there so I'll have to come back for an event. Went around noon on a Sunday and it was fairly empty so we sat at the bar and were serviced immediately. Strawberry lemon drop - 10/10 - I love a good lemon drop but a I'll never pass up a flavored one. No notes. Shrimp & Grits - 5/10 - don't get me wrong it was GOOD but it was too rich/cheesy to me. I don't know what I was expecting in terms of cheese but I've never had soooooo much cheese in an order of shrimp and grits. I legit pulled a mound of cheese off the top and it was still too much. I couldn't finish this unfortunately, even taking them home for another day didn't work because I couldn't take the richness. Not a slight to them, just a no for me. There was a great amount of shrimp in the dish and the consistency of the grifts were amazing. Just need something to cut through the richness. My friend had: Omelette - 10/10 - said they enjoyed it and would get it again Side of bacon - 10/10 - you got 6 pieces with the order and that was solid to me. I'd definitely come back and try something else on their brunch menu if given the chance. It's a bit out the way so I couldn't see myself traveling for it but if I was in the area I definitely would come back.

Just one other group of me, maybe some jazz music in the background, while we watched Basketball on the screen Best part about SOBEs was Mrs. Elaine, the bartendar. I would rate the food a 2.5/5. I had the shrimp tacos, which lacked flavor. The shrimp was bland. The Bang Bang shrimp was lacked flavor also. We barely touched these, so disappointing. People started showing up @ 7pm. which was $20 to get in. An AMAZING live cover band played at 9pm. By 7:45 pm, there was also a live DJ playing classic hip hop and RnB. That was such a VIBE! The crowd got really thick for the band, you literally had to push your way to the bathrooms. Bathrooms also need napkins to dry your hands with, instead of the nasty air hand dryers

Since the rebrand, I've been curious to see what they've done with the place. It looks bigger than I remembered. It's true to its name and setup as a lounge, with the vast majority of the seating (open booth style), placed against the wall, leaving the middle of the lounge open for dancing. We got there around opening time and it was empty, so we chose to sit at the bar, which is also a decent size. The bartender was nice and informed us immediately about the SEVERAL menu items that weren't available. We just went with the Tilapia fish and fries basket, cheese sticks and Old Bay wings. Everything was seasoned well, however, she said the wings were TOO seasoned. Not me, I LOVE Old Bay.. Lolol!! HH rail drinks were $7.99 and for only $2 more, you can get them "topshelf"! The regular menu is definitely inspired African Cuisine, which I'm trying more and more these days. If I lived near Famous Lounge, I would be a frequent HH visitor. I may even check them out one Sunday to catch a game, because they have several TV's throughout! This is definitely a decent neighborhood spot that's much fancier than your normal neighborhood watering hole!!

Most of the time fish is a hit. But every now and then ( last night) to be precise, my fish was over cooked. I had to bite and pull with my teeth. By the time I started eating and realized it was overcooked, the kitchen was closed. The drinks don't always taste like what you asked for but they are strong if that's what you like. They have a police officer at the door most nights, which makes it feel a bit safer. It's definitely a cheers type of bar, everyone knows everyone. Music is old school for the most part, but they have a jukebox so the music can be adjusted. It's a nice hole in the wall. The bathroom really sucks. You have to dam near turn sideways and use the stall with the door opened. That's the one thing I hate about this spot. Seems like they tried to turn one unisex bathroom into 2 stalls. I'm pretty sure the men's room looks the same.

This is one of those hole-in-the-wall spots that I was trying to decide whether or not I wanted to…read moretell y'all about because I don't want to come back and all of a sudden it's crowded. But I love y'all, so I'm going to put y'all on game. Admittedly, this spot does not look like much from the outside...but you know what they say about judging a book by its cover. It's definitely giving cabaret venue vibes (IYKYK), so I really wasn't sure what to expect. But this whole experience was a delightfully pleasant surprise. Our server Kamaria was absolutely wonderful. She has such amazing energy and we felt so welcomed. She recommended some of her favorite items from the a la carte menu, then invited us to proceed to the buffet. We decided to get an order each of the honey butter biscuits a la carte and now I got questions. I just want to know whose grandmother they have back there in that kitchen making them biscuits like that. Because those were some of THE best damn biscuits I've ever had. Easily the best biscuits I've had in the DMV. They were huge! Fluffy and chewy with a generous glazing of that absolutely divine honey butter. If you get nothing else from here, you NEED those biscuits. The buffet didn't look like it had much going on but again, looks are deceiving in this place. There were so many delicious options to choose from. Scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, bacon (both pork and turkey), shrimp and grits, chicken alfredo, jerk chicken wings, fried chicken wings, peach cobbler, sweet potatoes and a few other things I can't remember. If you didn't find anything you liked on this buffet, you were either vegan or just not hungry forreal. Every single thing that we ate was delicious. The jerk wings were perfectly cooked and had a nice kick to em. The fried wings were fried perfectly: crispy but not too hard, and seasoned just right. The chicken alfredo was probably my favorite. I don't think this place did anything particularly innovative or special with it, it was just delicious and well made. The sweet potatoes and peach cobbler were good but both could have used just a little bit more sweetening. I absolutely loved the shrimp and grits! Those grits were thick and creamy and the shrimp and sauce had a nice Cajun flare: a little kick and a whole lot of flavor. I'm not a pork eater so I was delighted at the turkey bacon. It was the thick cut bacon too! None of them skinny, scrawny strips. Oh, and of course there were bottomless mimosas. Kamaria made sure that our glasses stayed full. This spot offers three different kinds of juice for the mimosa: orange, pineapple, and I think the last one is cranberry. We both got the pineapple and we were not disappointed. There's also a DJ at brunch. He definitely helped set a vibe but what I really appreciate it is that the music wasn't too loud so we could enjoy it but still enjoy our conversation as well. This is easily my new favorite brunch spot. Good vibes, great food, bottomless drinks, no reservations... And no driving around the block dozens of times looking for a parking space. What more could a girl ask for?
