I love that the DJ played house music! He kept me on the dance floor. This is a black owned business so I had to stop by to check it out. Music 5 stars. It is an older crowd and everyone is respectful. No drama or negative energy. I would say 40 and up. Good luck with street parking (garages are near by if you don't mind a short walk). GREAT VIBES!! Came here on a Saturday night. Loved the vibes and energy here. Music was amazing. Some afrobeats along w/ some old school jams. The club had maybe 20 people inside when I came. I thought it would be more livelier on a Saturday night, but the chill music and atmosphere made up for it. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in town. I just gotta bring a more energetic friend to get the crowd a little more hyped up. They were a lil reserved. The bartender gave me a break-down of the history of the place. I didn't get the bartenders name, but she was beautiful thick mama w/ that southern charm. CROWD was older. I would say 40+. Definitely for the grown and sexy.. Some people complain about the prices.. I didn't have any issues.. The only negative I had (which is no fault of the club at all) is I made the mistake of walking out late at night from my hotel which was located by the Inner Harbor. When I did the walk, it looked so unassuming when I did google maps with satellite view. However, I haven't so many crackheads pop out from hidden alleys in all of my life. I felt like I was auditioning for "The Walking Dead" episode. I haven't walked so fast and I think I made a 20 min walk in under 10 minutes. I've been here a few times recently. It's pretty small with decent size bar. I found the people pretty friendly and the drinks give a generous pour. They do not serve food so be sure to have something before you get there. If you are looking for a place where locals over 35 go for a good cocktail and a little dancing this could be for you. read more

I visited The Place for a comedy show that takes place on the 4th Tuesday of every month. Once we opened the door we instantly became a part of the show because the comic is right in the front and you have to pass to get into the bar. We paid a $10 cover. There are stools around the bar counter and a few tables and chairs around the chopped-up bar. There were some low sofa stools to sit on, too. The Place was kept extremely dark, but it did not hide the overpriced drinks. $15 for one drink that tasted like medicine to me, but by the middle of it, I was laughing at every joke - even the not so funny ones. Around the bar counter, there are several tvs so you might be able to catch a game and drink. There is a back room that was lit where the comics waited, and some other secret room that cigarette smoke wafted from. I enjoyed my time here, however, I was not comfortable in my seat's awkward placement. It was quite difficult to see the comic and yet, every other seat was taken so I couldn't move. I was excited about attending a comedy show at The Place. We attempted to purchase tickets in advance but was unable to figure how to purchase tickets in advance. When we arrived to the show, the sits we limited. The majority of the audience were force to stand. I could order a drink cuz it was too crowded. There was a need for more bartenders and waiters.
