I would like to file a formal complaint regarding my experience at the hotel cocktail bar. My friends and I visited the bar with the understanding that it was busy, and we were more than willing to be patient while the staff caught up with service. However, the bartender, Vicki, refused to accommodate us at all, despite our willingness to wait our turn. Rather than acknowledging us or offering an estimated wait time, we were simply turned away. What made the experience particularly disappointing was not the wait itself, but the lack of professionalism and hospitality. We were treated as though our business was not welcome, which is not the level of customer service I would expect from a hotel of this standard. As paying guests, we expected to be treated with courtesy and respect. If the bar was temporarily unable to serve additional customers, a polite explanation or request to wait would have been completely understandable. Instead, the bartender's, Vicki, refusal to accommodate us left us feeling unwelcome and frustrated. While I thoroughly enjoyed my hotel stay, this definitely put an off putting taste in my mouth toward customer service standards. Recently visited for a friends bday outing. While here I had the mini crabcakes and a few drinks. The crabcakes were good. Ample fresh crabmeat in every bite. The sauce had a delightful kick to it. The vibe here definitely gives 1970s, and the small, intimate space would be the perfect spot for a date night or ladies night. this is definitely a very cute spot to have for the girls night out. The live music was cool, the ambience is great and you can take really cute photos here. Unfortunately I only had one drink so I didn't really get to taste their whole menu, but I will say that they do sometimes require reservations for the actual seating. The waiter, Vicky, after I asked for seating for 12 people with about only 4 to 5 patrons in the entire lounge, informed me that it would be too difficult for they and their staff member to serve my party even though we were calm and respectful of them. Two members of my group spoke with Vicky's manager and explained the situation and were met with a "we will speak to them". Nothing was done to accommodate us. If it was too difficult to accommodate 12 patrons in an empty lounge that doesn't close for another hour then it's not worth spending money there. Future patrons be aware. read more

I was looking for a more lively place on a Tuesday and someone recommended Bloom because of the jazz band. Nice venue and esthetics but the atmosphere is WEIRD and SUCKS! The service completely sucks!!! When I first walked in... the hostess flagged me down to ask where I was sitting...I told her I was by myself...she walks around half the bar and told me there is no seating available at the bar. She it made seem taboo. Sooooo...I go stand by the doorway and after 1-2 mins I ask her what does she recommend I do...then she tells me I can stand at the bar. After that it took over 45 mins before the bartender acknowledged me. The bartender then tells me that they are not serving patrons who are standing because they're busy. The manager tells me to stand in a specific spot and the bartender was like I am not serving standing people..my thought: "this place does not want to make money" The bartender even comes back around and let's me know that someone is about to get up, which I did appreciate. It was not overly sweet, but very light and refreshing. I also tried the Jamila ($14), which had a rose infused tequila, cucumber, lime, and honey. For me this cocktail resembled a floral margarita with a unique addition of cucumbers. Our server, Mason, was very kind. He constantly checked in on us to see if there was anything we needed and made sure that our water was always filled. Bloom's does also serve some light snacks like a cheese plate, shrimp cocktail, house made chips, marinated olives, and roasted almonds. Cocktails range from $14 to $18. So we chose from the 3 of the available options, olives and chips (nuts were the other option). So the chips were like regular potato chips . I would say roughly a 1.50 cent bag of chips. No gourmet chip, hust plain chips. And the olives were a tiny little bowl of these greasy olives. Most of them nothing but puts. I understand a limited menu and I've had bar snacks. They could do much better than this. They sell gourmet potato chips and you can get nice olives anywhere. I keep better ones in my own pantry. In terms of the service. It was ok. My wife and I made a reservation for a night cap after our Anniversary dinner. First off, the Bartender and our server JESSE were so warm and inviting as soon as we walked in. Very Friendly service all night. We really enjoyed that the seating was so large and comfortable. So we were pleased as soon as we were seated. We decided to try 3 different drinks to share and we loved all 3. The Old Fashioned was the purest Traditional version I like. Properly prepared. The other 2 drinks on the menu are not on the Online menu at all and I don't remember the names but they were strong and worth every penny. We also enjoyed celebratory Zinfandel. We immediately grabbed seats at the bar and kindly waited for the bartender to greet us. Strangely, the bartender did not give us menus right away. When we finally asked for a menu, he told us "oh there's one over there". Another woman had it in her possession, so it was just weird that we were expected to ask someone for theirs (hence my rating). Any who, after browsing the menu, we actually ended up ordering a craft cocktail that wasn't on the menu. The bartender made us a mezcal cocktail with apperol, chartreuse liqour, & peppercorn garnish. It was delicious! The bartender also recommended another speakeasy in the hotel called The Coral Wig, which was actually more of a vibe. There was only one bartender so there was a little wait but he made his way to us and made our drinks with care. I ordered an espresso martini which was not on the menu but the bartender took the time out to make it for me and I really appreciated it, especially with it being my first time trying one. Loved this interesting bar in Mt Vernon! Went by on a Friday night around 8pm (without a reservation) and they were able to seat us at the bar. If you're coming with a group of people would recommend making a reservation, by 9pm the place was packed. There is a $50 reservation fee online (for no shows). The bar staff were polite, and for the most part were pretty busy getting the orders in. They have some great cocktail choices and some small bites (I loved the French fries!). We paid $35 for two drinks and fries. Ambience is fantastic - the music is not too loud, low lights with a red tinge, and cozy seating makes this a great place for a date night or a friendly get together.
