We waited near the bar for a few minutes, heard nothing, saw no one, and eventually started heading back up the stairs to leave. That's when Steve, the bartender, literally came after usnot in a weird way, but in a very human, "Hey! Sorry about that, I was in the stock room come back in!" way. And honestly? From that moment on, the experience completely flipped. Steve was phenomenal. Friendly, welcoming, deeply knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the place. We intended on going to Sagamore Pendry but the parking was horrendous. We parked in 5 min next to the Lush store. Parking was free since the enforcement was over at 6pm. Elk Room has a very extensive list of liquor if you are a connoisseur. We are not. So I ordered an Espresso Martini with the Peach desert. The " Profiterole au Peche " arrives from next door at the Monarch restaurant. Monarch prepares all of the food. The kitchen closes at 12 am midnight . The desert was actually really good.
