Cozy, dimly lit cocktail bar great for both dates and larger groups! Was pretty empty on a Friday evening, so we got very attentive service for our large group. The staff were all very patient, friendly, and willing to answer any and all questions. The cocktails are very creatively crafted, though some are much stronger than others. Would recommend any of the more fruit-based ones. Cocktails and wine are about $16, beers $10 or less. No food menu.

Service is always nice and the vibe is always good Anthony always makes good cocktails

Been coming here since they opened in January, great vibes with friendly bartenders who can whip together great cocktails and mocktails for when I feel like taking it easy.

When you're told that your ghost tour is going to meet at the square across the street from a…read moreTaphouse, you grab food inside it and savor some incredible beers. It's what you do! And this led to me discovering just how much of a certifiable beer haven Max's is! For a Philly comparison I'd put Max's on the same caliber as Glory Beer Bar and Kitchen but with a beer bible on the same scale as Monk's. It's been a beer haven for going on four decades and it shows with their 100+ rotating taps, 1000+ bottles & cans, a 4 casks that feature plenty of local Baltimore brews alongside the finest from Belgium, Germany, and then some! They even have seasonal special events like a Sour Beer Fest in June, and a Rare & Obscure Beer Weekend in October. The bar interior was classic wood, with a huge main bar that showcased the many brew and spirit options. The bartenders were also spot on with their service and spot on beer suggestions. For food being so close to the waterfront had me craving some seafood, and the rockfish sandwich delivered with its Chesapeake seasoning and remoulade dressing. Each day of the week has a beer special at Max's, and Thursday meant that I was enjoying a discount on full pint cask pours. I liked that Max's had transparent pricing available for 4 oz to large pours and growlers to go on their menu for each and every draft beer, and the 4 oz pours made it easier to enjoy the 11% abv barleywine beer from a Baltimore brewery that I was curious about without feeling some extra inebriated repercussions during my ghost tour. It was extra details like that which had me really enjoying Max's and dubbing it a must visit for any beer lover visiting Baltimore.

The beers are listed by number, but nobody tells you that you're supposed to order that way. I ordered a beer by its actual name, and the bartender acted like I was an idiot for not knowing their system. And nowhere in the restaurant or on the menu does it explain how to order. And numerous other people were doing the same thing. How hard is it to make a sign and/or update your website/menu? On top of that, even if you have a table, you still have to go up to the bar to order. When the place is busy, it's a complete shitshow. You're fighting through a crowd just to get a drink while your table sits empty. Whoever came up with this ordering system clearly doesn't care about being easy to do business with. Terrible setup, and the male bartender Roberts's attitude made it even worse. Our group consisted of two bank CEO's, a law enforcement officer and a senior executive in investment banking. We'll take our wallets and business somewhere else on football Sunday.

Great old-school bar, Great music every day!…read more We are always happy when we can catch a band at Cats Eye Pub in Fells Point Baltimore. Lots of rock and some americana. We were even happier to catch a blues band the other day! (Jun 2026). Charlie Owen & Pocket Change gave a great performance, with some well-known songs and a number of good more-obscure ones. It's fun when they feature one or another band member for a riff. We also love the divey character of the bar, while the crowd is more hip than divey. It's dark and gets crowded. The stools at the bar and by the windows always fill up. The ones along the wall come and go. The dance floor is usually packed. There's a room in back with a few tables, too, and you can hear the band from there, too. The bar has a full selection. They have around two dozen beers on tap, mostly crafts, some standards. Morgan pulled us a Snowball Sour draft from Dundalk's Key Brewing. It was smooth and creamy, only lightly sour, a fairly mild flavor, but well-balanced and pleasant. Steven served us a Banhez Mezcal, nicely flavored, rather mild in that trend to over-refine the bite out of agave spirits. He brought out a tequila that he likes, though i dont recall the name, also smooth and not bitey. We ended with a pure shot of Absolut Peppar, normally an ingredient to add some spice to bloody marys. On its own, there really is no spice, just the dark and slightly bitter bite of jalapeño and black pepper. We love Cat's Eye Pub! It's one of very few spots for blues in Baltimore.

Fun spot for live music or to take in a game or some people watching in Fells Point!!…read more Check out the Filthy Mittens next time they're playing!

There is a secret black door to enter. You can make reservations however, I was unaware that reservations were needed. We waited for about 20 minutes before a table opened up. 9pm Saturday Night…read more Homecoming Weekend Everyplace is lit tonight. That is a good and bad thing. Good for the vibes and bad for the parking . We intended on going to Sagamore Pendry but the parking was horrendous. We parked in 5 min next to the Lush store. Parking was free since the enforcement was over at 6pm. Elk Room has a very extensive list of liquor if you are a connoisseur. We are not. So I ordered an Espresso Martini with the Peach desert. The " Profiterole au Peche " arrives from next door at the Monarch restaurant. Monarch prepares all of the food. The kitchen closes at 12 am midnight . The desert was actually really good. Do you want to know the best part ? The "Dulcey Crunch " . It is like crumble on a Dutch apple pie but better. They could put it into a bag and sell that alone! The icecream is nice but if Monarch hooks up with Taharka Brothers Ice Cream based in Baltimore it would take the taste profile to another level. There is a flaky pastry involved that creates the need for a knife but we managed to cut it with a spoon. Last but not least , our server Michelle poured hot Caramel sauce over the desert once it arrived. You can never go wrong with hot caramel sauce and there was some left over to eat for fun. Overall : Great service Nice atmosphere Wear something cute. Live jazz music Sidebar: The table next to us ordered a PASSION PIT. The ladies at the table compared this drink to a Chinese medicine because of the smell . They were scared to drink it because it had olive oil. 10 min later ... it was still sitting there . It's on the returning favs list.

While menu items are constantly changing, the quality and flavors remain top tier. Fresh and locally sourced food prepared in house. Tried a few menu items while sitting at the bar. Chorizo and Egg and the smoked trout. The chorizo was excellent but I'm still raving about that trout. This is a classic scotch bar with original motifs of solid wood throughout the Wren. The people were lovely. Very talkative, game historical context about the city. Go for food and also go thirsty.

I tried quite a few dishes and ingredients I had never had before, and everything was absolutely impeccable Such a fun and unique dining experience. I'm so glad I finally got the chance to try it!

Two ciders ran us about $20, which felt reasonable for the setting and quality. We stopped in twice because we really wanted to try the bacon-wrapped goat cheese jalapeño poppers. The first time we weren't hungry enough, so we made a point to come back later and I'm glad we did. They were excellent. Not a huge portion, but it's an appetizer and felt appropriate. They were rich and well balanced, definitely a fork-and-knife situation, and worth the ~$14. The atmosphere is a big part of the appeal here. Tons of dark wood, historic character, and that old-Baltimore charm that makes you feel like the place has stories. It's warm and inviting. Perfect stop for drinks and a snack, especially on a cold day by the water. I'd absolutely go back if only for another hot rum cider and those poppers again.
