Stopped by for Happy Hour this past Thursday. We were greeted nicely and took open seating at the bar. Our bartender Eric was nice and gave me good info regarding their HH drink and menu options. We opted for the wine flight tasting and a few small bites, all which were enjoyed. The fried chicken meatballs had a nice crunch and a warm/moist inside. The chili aioli was a bit spicy for me but my date enjoyed for us both. The bruschetta was fresh, I think I can still smell the basil aroma! Stopped in earlier this week and had a great experience. Compliments to the chef on the foie gras with black truffle gelato--I honestly can't get that dish out of my head. It's one of those bites that sticks with you long after you've left the restaurant. The bar was great, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was well executed across the board. I've been really looking forward to coming to Cinghiale for a while now. Finally got to go when a friend invited us for a birthday dinner. The ambiance of the restaurant is absolutely stunning! The details and decor is carefully designed. Really gives an elegant and comfortable vibe with sophistication. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We all felt extremely welcomed. Their wine menu is extensive! I was really happy to have our server offer me a taste of a wine I was unsure of. The wine was amazing. We ordered two cocktails which were less impressive. Been here twice now. I really love the spacious interior. It's pretty nice ambiance. The service we had were amazing both times. Staff were very attentive. It's the food that was just ok. On a recent work trip I was also able to meet up with my mom and took her here for her birthday dinner. We really loved it! The service was really excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable and very patient. My mom is older and had a bit of a difficult time understanding the menu, and was being a bit discombobulated but our server was very gracious and answered aaall of her questions:) our food was incredible! Just delicious. I found the dishes to be unique and well put together. The wine we were suggested was also tasty. My mom selected their trio of gelato for her dessert and that was amazing! I finally had dinner at Cinghiale a couple of weeks ago after having it on my to try list for several years. (What can I say? We're not usually in this neighborhood - but I'm not sure why - the parking isn't as bad as I make out it out in my head. The restaurant offers complementary valet, but we found street parking around the corner, because I wasn't sure I had a cash tip for the valet driver. We ate on a Friday night and were able to find parking easily.) Cinghiale (meaning wild boar in Italian) is an Italian restaurant in Harbor East, with two different dining options. You can eat in the enoteca (wine bar) or more formal osteria (dining room). We ate in the enoteca but - looking around - I didn't think the options were that different from each other (not so formal on the osteria side that I couldn't have eaten there, for example). But the menus are very different, so definitely check both out and see what speaks to you more. (They offer a tasting menu in the osteria - you choose, an antipasti, primi, secondi, and dolci for $85, so keep that in mind as you choose, too.) When you make a reservation, you select whether you'd like to eat in the enoteca or the osteria. My husband and I shared a few dishes: the Insalata Romana (romaine and olive bread crostini with anchovy and parmigiano dressing); the Mezza Rigatoni Carbonara (with duck bacon, October beans, egg yolk, and parmigiano); the lamb meatballs (with creamy polenta, castelvetrano olives, and crispy cipollini onions); and a dessert (I can't find their dessert menu online but I believe it was an Italian cream cake). They were kind of enough to split everything, since we were sharing - always appreciated. My favorite dishes were easily the first two. The salad was classic with a twist (I enjoyed the olive bread crostini instead of a Caesar's more traditional crouton), and and I thought the dressing was appropriately anchovy-forward (if your menu says anchovy, I want to taste the anchovy, am I right?!). I also really enjoyed the pasta. I couldn't believe how much duck bacon flavor got into the sauce itself - you didn't need to get a piece of the duck bacon to get the flavor - it was everywhere. Splitting was the right thing to do here, since it was a rich dish. The next two dishes weren't as successful for me. The lamb meatballs were juicy, and I thought they were great. The polenta was a little too thick for me, and there were just way too many fried onions on the dish (it was covered like it was a green bean casserole on Thanksgiving). The dessert was a miss for us - too sweet and the icing was kind of stiff and hard, like a cake from a grocery store. It just tasted so sweet and one note - like sugar and nothing else. I wouldn't order it again. The service was great (friendly, helpful, attentive), and the restaurant is really comfortable (not stuffy, not too formal, you can definitely dress comfortably and feel at home). I enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine (I appreciated that they offer 6 and 3 oz pours, so you can try smaller glasses if you're interested in tasting a few), while my husband tried a couple of cocktails (I think he tried two different options and enjoyed both but preferred one). Overall, I enjoyed our meal at Cinghiale. I would have changed a few things about a couple of dishes we tried or maybe just ordered differently, but the courses we really enjoyed, the service, and the ambiance really made it a nice evening. This review is painful to write. For years I've sent people here to see what Baltimore can do. Great food! Reasonably priced (full disclosure, family celebrations are mostly at Charleston next door). And a beautiful view! On the water. With a walkway next to east Harbor hotels. Tonight I loved the cheese but the food was way too spicy to eat. Painfully spicy. Uncomfortable to eat . Not enjoyable. When I told the waitress I couldn't eat it due to the spice she said yeah, she has heard that before. I suggested that she bring some bread. "I guess I can do that" It's not that the food wasn't good. It was inedible due to the spice. The cheese appetizer was creamy and a 10/10. The main course was straight hot sauce. Staff said great would you like to order more?How about ordering dessert? I couldn't eat the food ordered, and I didn't want to order more. Waitstaff wasn't helpful "should I bring you the check? I got another glass of wine, but staff brought the bill with the wine. This place has been open 19 years. It is a close cousin to the best that Baltimore has to offer. When good, this place is great. Cinghiale is still such a great restaurant I keep coming back to for food and service. Staff are always courteous and friendly. Everything I order here is always delicious. I was recently back again for dinner with a friend and I got the Grilled Magret Duck Breast. The sauce was really flavorful and the duck was tender. My friend enjoyed his Pan Seared Swordfish. Gorgeous space that makes you feel like you're in an Italian trattoria. Featuring gorgeous lighting that makes everyone looks spectacular. We stopped in late at about 930 just about half an hour before they closed for some pizza. Know that the crust is made in the Abruzzo style, which means it's on a focaccia so it's soft and pillowy. I had mine with guanciale with mozzarella, my companion had a margarita. Keep in mind they don't do any customizations so I had to pick off the hot red peppers off my pizza, which seems like a shame to throw away food when it could've just been left off. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures since I was here for a work dinner. I will say pretty much everything was absolutely delicious. From the mushrooms on toast, carpaccio, squid, steaks... everything was pretty much spot on. A few dishes were a miss (ravioli and dessert was pretty bad), but overall everything was delicious! Drinks were quickly made and made well - I had way too many espresso martinis and they were perfect. The inside was a great spot for a big group of people or even dinner on your own. 6/19/25 - Cinghiale is one of our go-to Baltimore restaurants for special occasions, but before Thursday, we hadn't been there since 2022. I'm sorry to say there has been a noticeable drop-off in the overall quality of the dining experience. Our disappointment had nothing to do with the food. Everything we had - zucchini carpaccio, local oysters, mushroom tagliatelle, tuna and dessert - were all up to their usual excellent standards. However, when we last dined at Cinghiale, one could order either a la carte or three dishes for a set price. That last option is now gone. Everything is now a la carte. Service was the most remarkable letdown. Service there (as at Charlston) was always top notch, old school, relaxed but formal. The wait staff was always professional, knowledgeable about the food and drink, and dedicated to making the diner's experience perfect. This time, those factors seemed to be almost entirely missing. The wait staff was much younger, for one thing and more casual. There also seemed to be fewer of them. The young bartender didn't seem to know his stock very well, even admitting he didn't know some whiskey because he's "not a whiskey drinker." Our primary server was a charming young woman who did an acceptable job, just not the quality we expected. Actually, the most recognizable part of the meal were the food runners, who performed at their normal professional level. I don't know if something has changed in management or if the off night was because it was Thursday (which should be no excuse), but it was not the five star experience to which we've become accustomed. I'm not sure how to feel about the changes here recently. See my prior review; this was essentially my favorite restaurant in the city before. However you can't access the whole menu anymore; you either get the enoteca menu or the dining room menu. Both menus feel very pared down from what it used to be. You also have to specifically request the bread service, which just comes across as cheap unfortunately, and means you'll miss out on it if you don't know to request it! Food is still top notch and I would die for the carbonara with the duck bacon so I'll keep coming back - although definitely less frequently than before. Also for some reason our cocktails took 20 minutes to come out tonight which is fine but they definitely missed out on selling us each another cocktail before the end of our meal. read more

I can't believe it took me more than 4 years to finally get try Cinghiale. My husband's old boss invited us out to dinner here, we made reservations at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday night. We sat in the dining room side and really enjoyed it. They have a 4 course menu for $85 OR you can just order a la carte. We loved out waitress that night, she was very efficent and knew exactly what we needed. We had asked her to put together a cheese and meat plate for us to start, and she absolutely nailed it. It came with the most amazing ripe peaches and this incredible fruit jam. The two cheese's she picked were so insanely good and right up our alley, I had her write the names down so I wouldn't forget them. (La Tur and Caprino). I got the tagliatelle while my husband got the duck. I got to try his duck, and just wow. It is honestly one of the best dishes I've had in Baltimore. The pasta was fantastic, great flavor. We loved it so much, we decided to come back 3 days later. This time we chose to do the 4 course menu with the cheese/meat plate. They also have a happy hour at the bar from 4 - 6 with some really great deals. We waited at the bar for our 5 pm table. We got some drinks, and if we weren't about to have a 4 course meal, I would've gotten some food. Dinner was just as fantastic. I started with the heirloom tomato salad (it came with a ton of tomatoes and was so fresh), then had the agnolotti (the brown butter sauce is INCREDIBLE), had the duck (still so amazing - cooked perfectly, so flavorful, and had these amazing cripsy prosciutto wrapped green beans) and ended with the panna cotta. You could taste thr quality of the cream they used in it. My husband got the tuna crudo, the spaghetti Neri (the sauce was the perfect amount of saltiness/seafood flavor - we were trying to wipe it all up with bread), the strip steak, and the tiramisu. Everything was incredible. We had also let them know it was our anniversary, and they kindly give us free glasses of prosecco. It is a very well run restaurant with impeccable service. I haven't been to Cinghiale in a very, very long time. I first came here in 2018 and love the fact that if you order a bottle of wine, you can decorate it with a sharpie take the bottle home or leave it in the restaurant. This is a huge restaurant, focused on Italian food and part of the former Foreman Wolfe group now rebranded as of Jan 2025 to Tony Foreman + Co, which I have feelings about. During the Covid years service and food was really lacking (I got a panna cotta one of my favorite desserts but it came frozen solid) but I went back recently for their happy hour and really enjoyed the pasta. The little bites and specifically loved the fact that they had a sbagliato which takes me back to 2022. The staff at the bar are super friendly and they also made me a really great espresso martini with tequila! I haven't been back for dinner in a really long time, but I do really recommend their happy hour which is something you don't often find in Baltimore although it is becoming more popular. read more

I'd probably give this place a 3.8/5 FOOD- Calamari 4/5. Never had calamari like this before but it's was yummy. A bit odd to eat because you have to pick up the crunchy park with the actual squid. Chardonnay 4.5/5 chilled and smooth The starter bread was cold and dry. Was expecting a lot better for sure. SERVICE- 5/5 We sat at the bar and Erik was our server/bartender and he was absolutely amazing! So informative and had such a positive attitude which made the experience a lot better. He walked us through the whole menu. AMBIANCE- 5/5 Dim lights, plenty of seating and bar seating available. I probably wouldn't come here again and to be honest- if it weren't for our server Erik and the nice environment, id definitely rate this place 3/5. Definitely recommend this to the people who are looking to do a multi course meal because the portions are small. IF I were to come back, I'd definitely be sitting at the bar again, getting drinks and appetizers. I'm not exactly sure what happened to this restaurant. My wife and I've been going there for 10 or 12 years. Typically when we go when we drive into Baltimore to see a play, and we stop by here and grab food. We've been there enough times, we they kind of know us when we walk in the door. We're pretty much always get the same table. Today I didn't go to the play with my wife did (kid was sick) and brought me home lasagna. The lasagna had no sauce, no meat, did have a little béchamel, minimal cheese, and nine layers of noodle. The only reason I ate it, because I didn't feel like making myself dinner And I was hungry. If you're looking for upscale Italian this is the spot. Cinghiale has a magnificent collection of wines with a sommelier that will help you pair with the meal. First time trying this place out and we decided to do it for restaurant week. We had heard great things about Cinghiale but were overall fairly disappointed with our experience. Firstly - seating. We had reserved a table for two and got squeezed into a corner on a tiny little table which was not fun. I was willing to let that go hoping the rest of the night would be fantastic. Service - the maître d'hôtel was a lady out front who came around to all the tables next to us to check in, but never once came to our table. We were the only non caucasian couple in that corner - could have been a total coincidence but one that did stick out to me. The only time she came by was at the end after we had paid for the meal and were lingering for maybe a bit longer than they were expecting us to. She came over and started an awkward conversation about our dining experience. I was pretty honest about how I felt about some of the dishes but she didn't have much to say, and I got the sense she was just there at that point to "gently nudge us out". Food - ended up just going with the main menu rather than the restaurant week one due to options. The seafood linguine and lasagna were mediocre. For desert we tried their tiramisu - again, pretty average in my opinion. We got the burrata in black lentils as an app which was an interesting dish and one that I would recommend. The best part of the restaurant is the ambience - they really have done it up well and the bar area looks fun to hang out. Overall I was pretty let down by the food and service, and expected much more given the price point and reputation they reportedly have. Would I come back? Probably not. read more

We've come to Cinghiale for our anniversary a few times over the years. It's always a special experience for us. The food is always well prepared and presented and service is good. We had the prefixe menu which was a great value for the multi course meal. I had an Arugula salad that was very well done and lightly dressed. The shaved Parmesan was a perfect addition. The second course of tortellini had great flavor and finesse. I could have eaten a full portion and been very happy. The Mediterranean branzino was the best of all. Very well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Really brought out the flavor of the fish. My only criticism is the decor is a little dated. The table we had was with booth seating and it was a little worn. We met a family member who was in town here, based on the recommendation of a colleague. The colleague said shorts would be okay, but we dressed up a bit because one of us was coming directly from work, and we're glad we had. This place is worth it. We were seated at a nice table and immediately had a chat about the plates -- you'll understand if you go. Then we debated about what to order, eventually choosing not to have the 4-course prix fixe meal. We chose a couple of appetizers-- zucchini carpaccio (we still don't know what fennel pollen oil is, but is sure is delightful) and corn bisque (omg, heavenly). There was also sourdough and olive bread with olive oil. They sourdough was nothing like you would expect and also wonderful. The olive bread was intense. I loved it. My poor olive-hating husband did not. More for me! We all skipped the pasta dishes, probably a mistake. Two of us had the grilled branzino, one had the grilled tuna. We were all delighted with our choices. I had a glass of Chardonnay that was as light and fruity as my favorite Rieslings. Our family member had a Manhattan of some kind with rye, vermouth, and juniper. Delicious. Dessert was a raspberry sorbet: "This tastes more like raspberry than an actual raspberry!" And a hazelnut chocolate torte with caramel sauce. Have I mentioned the relaxed atmosphere, the "take two hours on your meal" vibe, or the spectacular service? No? Well fine. You see for yourself. A big beautiful bar and lovingly curated wine program. Traditional Italian fine dining right-sized in the sort of portions more of us should eat (and priced like it was 2019). There's a happy hour (cocktails are the standout) and a wine night (ask the Som for a recommendation). I've been going out in Harbor East ever since there was anything to go out to here and somehow never stopped at Cinghiale despite walking by it many a time. Too fancy, Italian isn't my first choice of cuisine, other excuses. That was my loss- I really like it. The main portions are a little smaller than many of us might expect for Italian, but about right for comfortable eating while drinking or date nights. I'm not a huge fan of the happy hour food options but they're a good introduction to how the kitchen here cooks. The bar is super spacious, perfectly comfortable for a full meal for those of us who trend casual or dine solo. After 3 visits, I'm sold on this place. Owners Foreman Wolf have done good by Baltimore- I still miss my old favorite Pazo, my favorite ever of their concepts. I should have cancelled my reservation like I intended to when I saw their menu. I do not recommend for business/corporate dinners. Took 70 minutes between orders and serving. Appetizers and entrees were not flavorful. Have lived in the area for several years, and this is the worst meal I have had in Baltimore. When I travel, Italian restaurants are usually not so high on my search list. But a friend also in the area mentioned having had a memorable dinner at Cinghiale a few years ago, so a group of us decided to go there on a Saturday evening for dinner. It was just about a perfect experience, from the service to the food to the drink to the atmosphere... everything. While you can order any item individually, your best bet is Prezzo Fisso from which you can still order any item from each course. Since I've been exploring new (to me) Italian wines, I also took advantage of the option for an additional $30 to include the recommended wines (3 oz, 3 oz, and 6 oz). Our server was quite flexible with us, giving us extra time to finish cocktails before starting the food and wine service. Everything was amazing, and the wines most definitely paired well with what I ordered. Dessert is not included with Prezzo Fisso, but it's worth adding on to your dining experience. I found it a little ironic, that for all the positive comments I've heard about dining in Little Italy here, I'd find an excellent Italian restaurant along the waterfront. read more

Great food, great service, beautiful ambience! Another great Foreman Wolf restaurant. Came with 3 friends on a Friday night and we had a reservation, which I recommend. They do have FREE valet which is an incredible amenity in harbor East. Our table got a few appetizers, drinks, wine, and entrees. They have an extensive wine list! I got a cocktail called maybe Cinghiale 76 which was like a gin spritzer - loved it. For dinner, I got the spaghetti Neri. It was very good, it did only have 2 shrimp and overall for $35, a bit of a small portion of pasta. I hate to say but Tagliata offers "half portions" for cheaper and I believe it is the same or slightly more pasta. At $35, I would expect to have leftovers, no one did. The service was next to perfect - swapping plates and cutlery between courses. Ultimately, everything was great but I just felt the pasta was a small portion, that's my only negative feedback.
