So I have been coming to Amadeo's for years. We were sad to hear it was closing and then we got news that a couple was taking the restaurant over. We were excited but needed to try it for ourselves to see if it still had the Amadeo's service, great food, and ambiance! Let me tell you I want to gate keep. I really, really do. But this place is doing it right. The ambiance is the same but with a hip new twist. Same lovely old time bar but new artwork and table set up. The service was still top notch. Becca was still there and we were so happy to see her! The staff were so nice and all of this was before the food. They had experts in wines to help us pair with the meal. But we were blown away by the food! We got the tomato pie. Now stop there. That tomato pie is 100% perfection. I'm not over exaggerating! 100% perfect. I will die on that hill any day. The yellow tail crudo was light and freshing after that rich pie. But it was a perfect platelet cleanser before the mezza manichie. The pasta sauce was light while also savory. It was honestly the perfect meal. I know they switch up the menu but please keep that tomato pie! It's so damn good. I can't give Amadeo's higher than a 5 star, but I would if I could. I am so excited that there is a new fantastic Italian place in the city!! Came here with a couple friends for dinner and we ended up splitting a bunch of dishes. Service was decent and our waitress (I think one of the owners actually) walked us through the menu which was helpful! We started with the Ceasar and another salad- I LOVED the baby greens salad it was delicious. I also thought the tomato pie was incredible. For the mains we split a bunch of the pastas- the red sauce with the sausage addition was my favorite. Just a great bright classic pasta. I also found the beef dish to be fantastic, it was perfectly cooked. For dessert we got panna cotta which was awesome!! One of the best I've had, it was jiggly and perfect. We were looking for some food in Little Italy. There are a ton of options but we settled on here. We were glad we did! The woman working the bar also worked the floor. She was friendly and engaging. We ordered nearly all of the appetizers. Each one was really tasty! The cheese and olives were my favorites. I even enjoyed the seasoned tomatoes which is not usually my thing. My least favorite was the beet salad. It was still ok but just a little bland in comparison to everything else. The pizza was small but in combination with everything else I was pleased with the taste of it. We split the special spicy shrimp pasta. It had some heat! It was delicious and filling. Where do I start. Family owned and operated establishment in Baltimore' Little Italy. We ordered a bottle of recommended red from Becca, a 2019 Castellani Sangiovese, excellent choice. Tannins but not too much to overcome the food. Our appetizer, Caprese Bruschette, the Burrata was creamy but not overly runny, a nice touch by putting pitted Olives on the side. Very good. For the main course we split a Shrimp Diavlo and Parppadelle Carciofi, homemade pasta with artichoke heart, sun dried tomato, roasted red peppers, spinach in a butter cream sauce. This can easily go sideways but not at Osteria DaAmedeo, the sauce was not overwhelming but excellent and the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection while soaking up the taste of the sauce. For the dessert we went with the house made Tiramisu. Very tasty but a little too damp, a common choice with Tiramisu, but I prefer mine a little more firm. So now for the 5 star part of this review, Amadeus & Becca, father and daughter, on my scale they rate 110%. Don't bypass this understated establishment. read more

Such a great little find! Came here for the first time for a dinner date. We were greeted upon walking in and taken to a table in the back. We started off with wine and ordered our entrees (a Shrimp Alfredo fettuccine for me). Our entrees came with a small Caesar salad. The salad was nothing special but a nice starter before our main meal. My dish had a good amount of shrimp in it and it was super tasty. We also decided to share their in house made Tiramisu for dessert. It was very light and a great ending to our meal. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The owner's daughter also came over to assist and was quite fun and friendly as well. Such a quaint restaurant with energetic and friendly staff. My partner and I stopped in on a whim - and absolutely fell in love with it by surprise. The prices for wine are very reasonable, the environment is warm and welcoming, and the staff was super friendly and nice to chat with. Coincidentally, I was sitting next to Amadeo - the owner! He welcomed me, and asked if I was enjoying my time. His daughter also works behind the bar, which I think is super cool. This place is a small hidden gem in Little Italy, Baltimore. We were looking for a place to have dinner and gave this a shot after reading some reviews. The menu is small, but there's no need for more. We had the farfalle, caesar salad, gambas bruschetta (not pictured) and a glass of sauvignon. The server had a great attitude, energy and was very kind. We stayed past their closing time (we did not know they were closed already) and they did not even mention it, but wished us a good night and closed the door behind us. What a great little find this was in Baltimore! They are only open something like Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 5:00 to 10:00. Updated menu every week with great homemade everything, great service and great food. I stopped in with my son on a Friday evening and had a great experience here. We started with the antipasto for two, it was plenty of food and it was so gorgeous that I dug right in and I'm sorry to say did not get a picture of it! I got the pasta bolognese which was great - I'm sitting here eating the leftovers for breakfast as I write this! (-: My son got the shrimp dish which was supposed to be served on crostini but he asked for pasta instead and it was even better than mine! This cozy little corner restaurant is easily missed - but definitely worth a visit. I've lived nearby for a decade and just tried it for the first time very recently. Everything is reasonably priced, the service is friendly, and the vibe is relaxing. We tried a couple antipasti plates to start - some marinated vegetables and some charcuterie. Very tasty. We also ordered a penne with meatballs and it was delicious. To end, we got the tiramisu which was all great. Happy hour beers are only a few bucks and they have Moretti Rossa, so it's a no-brainer. Amazing! Felt like we were back in Italy again. The food was fantastic and very authentic (their marinated olives are truly a reason to visit in and of themselves). There is one guy running the show (manning the bar, taking orders, bussing) but it's overall a pretty small spot and he stays on top of things. The food was DELICIOUS-had the burrata and bruschette to start and were impressed by the taste and quality of both. For mains, the pizza was small but really tasty and the pasta was perfectly seasoned and sized to split. You could really tell whoever was cooking REALLY knew what they were doing. Four dishes with 2 glasses of wine (and some salad, cookies thrown in) only came up to $80 which is such a welcome change in today's age of ridiculous restaurant prices. First and foremost I want to say the owner is an awesome person, friendly and welcoming he makes the atmosphere of this quaint Italian restaurant even more inviting as he walks around and occasionally chats with guests. When he isn't cooking the amazing food at least! So, the food itself is phenomenal, everyone in my party of 6 loved their food. I personally don't like Italian food outside my family most of the time but I've found a place now that I do. It tasted just like sitting around the table with my big Italian family and having a home cooked meal at a holiday. The portions are reasonable, (better than at my house at least u don't roll out of here!) The service is fine, it's a little more relaxed than I'm used to but that's fine, good food, good wine, and good people don't need to be rushed. The ambiance of this place is wonderful! Following an afternoon snack of iced coffee and a raspberry scone at my go to bakery - Oven Bird, in Little Italy - I noticed that right across the street the small Open sign was lit at Osteria Da Amedeo. I'd heard it was a great wine bar. I stepped in and found it to be really charming. The long bar and the small tables were inviting. The bartender, Adrianne, immediately welcomed me. The lighting gives the place a nice European glow, that sense that for awhile time will stop. I asked for a wine recommendation to go with my pasta and I was very pleased with the wine and the meal. The menu was short but everything sounded so good. The tiramisu was fresh and delicious.I chatted at length with the owner, Amedeo, met Scuba Steve, and talked with the bartender about the neighborhood, dating, and The Who's Who in Little Italy. It turned out the owner of the bakery Oven Bird was sitting next to me so we talked about his business and about the trials and triumphs of being an entrepreneur. Big fan! The food is all homemade, and sometimes you'll get a slight difference in what you get, based on who's cooking - but it's always fantastic! (I enjoy the slight variety! It makes it feel much more like your family's kitchen...assuming you have an Italian or European family or have been adopted into one.) Totally a neighborhood/locals spot where most everyone knows each other and the other regulars. A few tourist show up, but they're mostly there for the food, whereas it's the local watering-hole for the neighbors. It's very welcoming, you get great wine recommendations and can get bottles to take home, too. You'll see the owner there (his name is over the door,) in the kitchen, working the bar, walking the floor and checking in on everyone, or playing a game of backgammon with his latest challenger. Definitely not pretentious. It's very homey and family-like (sometimes family even (wo-)mans the bar. Keep in mind it's a wine bar, (at least after they stop serving food for the evening - usually around 8-830pm,) so that's where the selection is. They do have a basic selection of beer and hard alcohol and a couple mixers, if that's your thing, but the standard fares - no craft cocktails, just good service and basic old-school drinks. Closing time can depend on how busy they are, but make sure to take a peek - it can sometimes lol closed when it's not and it can sometimes be closed when it doesn't look like it. They usually have "the game" on the two TVs in the bar, and their menu rotates. Check out Facebook for their most current one. They usually have a cheese and/or near plate, some bruschetta, and soup - if you get there early enough (always ask because it changes based on the cook's preference and the day/week.) There are usually 3-5 entree options each week, including at least one with seafood and at least one without. Often a cream sauce or two, a red sauce or two, and/or a wine sauce (or two.) I think all entrees come with a Caesar salad (and the dressing is not too fishy, thankfully! But very nicely parmesan'd.) Desserts, I think are mini-canolis or tiramisu. The owner and his wife are wonderful, accommodating people that intend and succeed at making you feel at home. If you are looking to go out and ENJOY a drink and interesting conversation, you've found the place. Lots of seating in back available for private parties, monthly wine tastings or just a lovely dinner date. As a vegan, I enjoy the grilled eggplant and artichokes in pasta, on a custom panini, or in salad. My favorites are the artichoke and red pepper bruschetta, the eggplant and capers bruschetta, the aged garlic spread bruschetta as well as the olives (the one without the cheese) bruschetta. Came with a fairly large group and we were able to snag a few tables in the back to accommodate us. The menu is pretty interesting, ranging from bruschetta (3 for $12) to paninis. I opted for the 3 different bruschetta options. Honestly, I thought it was going to be 3 pieces of bread but in fact you get 3 of each, so 9 total. I'm knocking off a star because I received 3 pickled garlic bruschetta which I didn't even order, but the other olive tapenades weren't bad. Nothing great either. Went here for happy hour on Tuesday night. The bartender was so friendly, I felt like I was in someone's house. The owner, Amedeo, was sitting at the bar along with my friend and I. This place was quiet, quaint and had a homey feeling. We were the only ones there for a while, but a few people from the neighborhood started to trickle in to the bar area around 6:30/7ish. You could tell that this is a real neighborhood place. The prices were super cheap and their happy hour menu is extensive! You should also ask to see the regular menu because some of the prices on there are the same or not much higher than happy hour and you get more of a selection. For example, there are $5 bruchetta options on the HH menu, but the regular ones are $5 too with additional choices. We got 4 glasses of wine, a chicken caesar salad, bruschetta, a mini panini, tiramisu and a mini, chocolate-dipped cannoli and I think this was all for under $25 a person including tax and tip. You can't beat that! I thought the chicken caesar salad good. Large enough to split and the chicken was all white meat and tender. We also really liked the gorzonzola bruchetta, and the homemade tiramisu. We did not really care for the artichoke and eggplant mini panini...it had a weird taste to it. I liked the happy hour Chianti, but did not care for the Orvieto glass that I ordered off of the regular menu. My only other suggestion was that the food took a super long to to come out for what we ordered, which were all appetizer type things, but we had a nice time catching up at the bar and drinking our wine. I would probably rate this a 3.5, but I bumped it up to 4 because everyone here was so nice and welcoming. This is without question 3.5 to 4 star place. Very simple place in the heart of little Italy. Whether you are coming here before or after you go out to eat in the neighborhood this place is a perfect spot to unwind. Mainly serving Italian wines but they also have bottle beers. The bartenders are great at matching you with a good quality wine if you aren't sure what you would like. They also have no problem giving you a sample to try. Very minimal on food. It was pretty slow on a Tuesdsay night, but as the reviews promised the Panini's and the service were great. We also ended up trying the terimisu (both the espresso and the Limenchello, the special), both were light desserts, perfect for the summer.
