Overall 3.0-3.5 Food: good bang for your buck, good variety with 4 courses for 85$. Food overall was okay, entrees not as good as the first courses. Pasta was nice and al dente. drinks: good cocktails, great wine options for a variety of prices. Ambiance: cute, a little mainstream. Good service.

I finally had dinner at Cinghiale a couple of weeks ago after having it on my to try list for several years. (What can I say? We're not usually in this neighborhood - but I'm not sure why - the parking isn't as bad as I make out it out in my head. The restaurant offers complementary valet, but we found street parking around the corner, because I wasn't sure I had a cash tip for the valet driver. We ate on a Friday night and were able to find parking easily.) Cinghiale (meaning wild boar in Italian) is an Italian restaurant in Harbor East, with two different dining options. You can eat in the enoteca (wine bar) or more formal osteria (dining room). We ate in the enoteca but - looking around - I didn't think the options were that different from each other (not so formal on the osteria side that I couldn't have eaten there, for example). But the menus are very different, so definitely check both out and see what speaks to you more. (They offer a tasting menu in the osteria - you choose, an antipasti, primi, secondi, and dolci for $85, so keep that in mind as you choose, too.) When you make a reservation, you select whether you'd like to eat in the enoteca or the osteria. My husband and I shared a few dishes: the Insalata Romana (romaine and olive bread crostini with anchovy and parmigiano dressing); the Mezza Rigatoni Carbonara (with duck bacon, October beans, egg yolk, and parmigiano); the lamb meatballs (with creamy polenta, castelvetrano olives, and crispy cipollini onions); and a dessert (I can't find their dessert menu online but I believe it was an Italian cream cake). They were kind of enough to split everything, since we were sharing - always appreciated. My favorite dishes were easily the first two. The salad was classic with a twist (I enjoyed the olive bread crostini instead of a Caesar's more traditional crouton), and and I thought the dressing was appropriately anchovy-forward (if your menu says anchovy, I want to taste the anchovy, am I right?!). I also really enjoyed the pasta. I couldn't believe how much duck bacon flavor got into the sauce itself - you didn't need to get a piece of the duck bacon to get the flavor - it was everywhere. Splitting was the right thing to do here, since it was a rich dish. The next two dishes weren't as successful for me. The lamb meatballs were juicy, and I thought they were great. The polenta was a little too thick for me, and there were just way too many fried onions on the dish (it was covered like it was a green bean casserole on Thanksgiving). The dessert was a miss for us - too sweet and the icing was kind of stiff and hard, like a cake from a grocery store. It just tasted so sweet and one note - like sugar and nothing else. I wouldn't order it again. The service was great (friendly, helpful, attentive), and the restaurant is really comfortable (not stuffy, not too formal, you can definitely dress comfortably and feel at home). I enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine (I appreciated that they offer 6 and 3 oz pours, so you can try smaller glasses if you're interested in tasting a few), while my husband tried a couple of cocktails (I think he tried two different options and enjoyed both but preferred one). Overall, I enjoyed our meal at Cinghiale. I would have changed a few things about a couple of dishes we tried or maybe just ordered differently, but the courses we really enjoyed, the service, and the ambiance really made it a nice evening. I would definitely return, and I'd probably check out the osteria side next for something different!

Cinghiale is still such a great restaurant I keep coming back to for food and service. Staff are always courteous and friendly. Everything I order here is always delicious. I was recently back again for dinner with a friend and I got the Grilled Magret Duck Breast. The sauce was really flavorful and the duck was tender. My friend enjoyed his Pan Seared Swordfish. We also ended up sharing the Zabagliona Panna Cotta for dessert. It was so light and fluffy. Always a great experience here.

Food: Bread - cold and nothing special (did give another portion which is a plus) Tonno Rosso crudo - It was a bit bland Local corn bisque - Soup was way too sweet - The amount of crab they included was laughable Spaghetti Neri - Good flavor but tomato sauce was a bit sweet Pappardelle - The beef was a bit dry but the flavor was decent Grilled blue fin tuna - Sear was good on the tuna and it was flavorful - Fruit was probably the best thing on the plate Pan seared swordfish - Fish was very dry - The potatoes and broccoli were crunchy and seasoned well Affogato - ice cream was sweet and creamy, a good contrast to the bitter espresso Zabaglione - It was light and fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet Service: service was great; everyone was nice and attentive Ambiance: it is very romantic and intimate, there's even a little candle and flowers on the table Price: it was $85 for 4 courses, which is extremely overpriced for how mediocre the food was Overall I am a bit disappointed and would not return

Gorgeous space that makes you feel like you're in an Italian trattoria. Featuring gorgeous lighting that makes everyone looks spectacular. We stopped in late at about 930 just about half an hour before they closed for some pizza. Know that the crust is made in the Abruzzo style, which means it's on a focaccia so it's soft and pillowy. I had mine with guanciale with mozzarella, my companion had a margarita. Keep in mind they don't do any customizations so I had to pick off the hot red peppers off my pizza, which seems like a shame to throw away food when it could've just been left off. But, pizzas were hot and tasty.

Cinghiale never misses. Great location in harbor east its easy to get to. Inside the restaraunt has great ambiance The Service is always attentive. Food is delicious across the board. Go for Happy Hour!

6/19/25 - Cinghiale is one of our go-to Baltimore restaurants for special occasions, but before Thursday, we hadn't been there since 2022. I'm sorry to say there has been a noticeable drop-off in the overall quality of the dining experience. Our disappointment had nothing to do with the food. Everything we had - zucchini carpaccio, local oysters, mushroom tagliatelle, tuna and dessert - were all up to their usual excellent standards. However, when we last dined at Cinghiale, one could order either a la carte or three dishes for a set price. That last option is now gone. Everything is now a la carte. Service was the most remarkable letdown. Service there (as at Charlston) was always top notch, old school, relaxed but formal. The wait staff was always professional, knowledgeable about the food and drink, and dedicated to making the diner's experience perfect. This time, those factors seemed to be almost entirely missing. The wait staff was much younger, for one thing and more casual. There also seemed to be fewer of them. The young bartender didn't seem to know his stock very well, even admitting he didn't know some whiskey because he's "not a whiskey drinker." Our primary server was a charming young woman who did an acceptable job, just not the quality we expected. Actually, the most recognizable part of the meal were the food runners, who performed at their normal professional level. I don't know if something has changed in management or if the off night was because it was Thursday (which should be no excuse), but it was not the five star experience to which we've become accustomed. We will return, hoping this was a one-off, but they really feel flat on this occasion.

I can't believe it took me more than 4 years to finally get try Cinghiale. My husband's old boss invited us out to dinner here, we made reservations at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday night. We sat in the dining room side and really enjoyed it. They have a 4 course menu for $85 OR you can just order a la carte. We loved out waitress that night, she was very efficent and knew exactly what we needed. We had asked her to put together a cheese and meat plate for us to start, and she absolutely nailed it. It came with the most amazing ripe peaches and this incredible fruit jam. The two cheese's she picked were so insanely good and right up our alley, I had her write the names down so I wouldn't forget them. (La Tur and Caprino). I got the tagliatelle while my husband got the duck. I got to try his duck, and just wow. It is honestly one of the best dishes I've had in Baltimore. The pasta was fantastic, great flavor. We loved it so much, we decided to come back 3 days later. This time we chose to do the 4 course menu with the cheese/meat plate. They also have a happy hour at the bar from 4 - 6 with some really great deals. We waited at the bar for our 5 pm table. We got some drinks, and if we weren't about to have a 4 course meal, I would've gotten some food. Dinner was just as fantastic. I started with the heirloom tomato salad (it came with a ton of tomatoes and was so fresh), then had the agnolotti (the brown butter sauce is INCREDIBLE), had the duck (still so amazing - cooked perfectly, so flavorful, and had these amazing cripsy prosciutto wrapped green beans) and ended with the panna cotta. You could taste thr quality of the cream they used in it. My husband got the tuna crudo, the spaghetti Neri (the sauce was the perfect amount of saltiness/seafood flavor - we were trying to wipe it all up with bread), the strip steak, and the tiramisu. Everything was incredible. We had also let them know it was our anniversary, and they kindly give us free glasses of prosecco. It is a very well run restaurant with impeccable service. We love it here - as you can tell by our twice in 1 week visits. They also offer complimentary valet which is nice.

I haven't been to Cinghiale in a very, very long time. I first came here in 2018 and love the fact that if you order a bottle of wine, you can decorate it with a sharpie take the bottle home or leave it in the restaurant. This is a huge restaurant, focused on Italian food and part of the former Foreman Wolfe group now rebranded as of Jan 2025 to Tony Foreman + Co, which I have feelings about. During the Covid years service and food was really lacking (I got a panna cotta one of my favorite desserts but it came frozen solid) but I went back recently for their happy hour and really enjoyed the pasta. The little bites and specifically loved the fact that they had a sbagliato which takes me back to 2022. The staff at the bar are super friendly and they also made me a really great espresso martini with tequila! I haven't been back for dinner in a really long time, but I do really recommend their happy hour which is something you don't often find in Baltimore although it is becoming more popular.

I'm not exactly sure what happened to this restaurant. My wife and I've been going there for 10 or 12 years. Typically when we go when we drive into Baltimore to see a play, and we stop by here and grab food. We've been there enough times, we they kind of know us when we walk in the door. We're pretty much always get the same table. Today I didn't go to the play with my wife did (kid was sick) and brought me home lasagna. The lasagna had no sauce, no meat, did have a little béchamel, minimal cheese, and nine layers of noodle. The only reason I ate it, because I didn't feel like making myself dinner And I was hungry. I'm done with this place.

    Calamari

I'd probably give this place a 3.8/5 FOOD- Calamari 4/5. Never had calamari like this before but it's was yummy. A bit odd to eat because you have to pick up the crunchy park with the actual squid. Chardonnay 4.5/5 chilled and smooth The starter bread was cold and dry. Was expecting a lot better for sure. SERVICE- 5/5 We sat at the bar and Erik was our server/bartender and he was absolutely amazing! So informative and had such a positive attitude which made the experience a lot better. He walked us through the whole menu. AMBIANCE- 5/5 Dim lights, plenty of seating and bar seating available. I probably wouldn't come here again and to be honest- if it weren't for our server Erik and the nice environment, id definitely rate this place 3/5. Definitely recommend this to the people who are looking to do a multi course meal because the portions are small. IF I were to come back, I'd definitely be sitting at the bar again, getting drinks and appetizers. Unfortunately, we left after eating our calamari and drinking our wine because my friend has a red meat allergy and that left us with barely anything to choose from on the menu.

Really friendly waiter Food was great - loved the garganelli, fritto misto, and calamari. The orata was a little too buttery/rich but it went well with the leeks! Their take on a Negroni was a nice twist on a classic

When I did a search online, this restaurant received high reviews and had a lovely ambiance. I made reservations via OpenTable. When I made the reservation, I noted it was for my birthday. Upon being seated, I was given a handwritten birthday card. Our server was Christopher. He was knowledgeable informing us of the specials and offering a recommendation after my husband selected a particular glass of wine. Christopher started us off by providing us with complimentary bread. I ordered the lobster ravioli (half size) and my hubby ordered the chicken marsala with spaghetti. I enjoyed the succulent lobster and the flavorful sauce. My hubby enjoyed his entree as well. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate semifreddo which had chocolate mousse, cold brew gelato, white chocolate crema, and chocolate hazelnut crumble. Christopher brought it out with lighted candle and surprised me with a complimentary olive oil cake. Both were delectable and simply perfection. If I were at home, I probably would have licked the plates. Towards the end of dinner, Christopher didn't come to check on us as frequently, but I appreciated his thoughtfulness with the complimentary cake and his knowledge of the menu. We had to ask about tastings and she poured us about four different wines to try, which was a really nice touch and made the experience feel relaxed. We liked a few of the wines and ended up purchasing a bottle of Honor Cava Brut Rosato for $32.99. Solid choice. Nothing mind-blowing, but enjoyable and fairly priced for the setting. The space itself felt calm and cozy, especially with the fireplace and wine displays, but at the time we were there it didn't have a ton of energy or buzz. To be fair, it was early in the day, so I can absolutely see this place feeling very different in the evening or on a weekend when the patio and waterfront vibe are in full swing. V-NO is a pleasant, low pressure wine stop with friendly service, a thoughtful tasting experience, and a beautiful waterfront location. It may not scream "vibes" during slower daytime hours, but it's an easy place to relax, learn what you like, and enjoy a glass (or a bottle) without feeling rushed. I'd definitely come back later in the day to see it come to life.

Not even 3 minutes later he called back, and explained what happened, fixed it and I got a follow up text immediately letting us know the refund was already in process. Now, I've been in the service industry and I was a bartender, so I understand that I'm going to be a little biased here but from beginning to end Benny's went above and beyond. They clearly appreciate their customers and love their work, it shows.

This place was such a delight. We came here with our kids and they just loved this experience…read more The restaurant has a gigantic bocce ball court that takes up much of the first level. We were seated at a table that overlooked the court and a digital screen that flashed beautiful photos of Italy's top tourist spots. My kids were thrilled when they saw Venice, since they just learned about it in school. After ordering food, I took the kids to the bocce court while my partner could enjoy the wine and watch us from above. I know he appreciated having the break and a good glass of wine to go with it. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic. We ordered several dishes including several types of pasta, meatballs, cheesy bread and a caesar salad. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and a great vibe overall. I already have a reservation when we pass through Baltimore again in a few weeks.

Don't come here if you're just looking for blah food! If all you want is spaghetti and meat sauce go down to Fazzolis. This is higher flavor town Italian food with a mission to make you melt in delight. And it succeeds! Service is out standing, the food is flavor art, the location is tight but has great character, and I would come back in a heart beat!

I thought I already reviewed this but I must have failed to hit save or something…read more This wasn't all around Epic experience! My fiance wanted a particular French mushroom dish and this restaurant happened to have it. Add to it the Noir French Jazz vibes and it makes for one heck of a date. The service was quick and courteous. The show girls were a ton of fun and the band was talented. My fiancée was surprised and very happy with the whole experience. My girl quite hilariously said that the bread was tragically authentic, LOL! She's not wrong, it was pretty hard but it was also very good. The duck confit and savory crépe I would have loved it if they made that into an entree because I'd have eaten a whole plate of it. It was delicious! The short rib bourguignon was super tender, very delicious but the serving size is pretty small. I was surprised I ended up feeling full at the end but it's probably cuz I ate plenty of the bread and drinking and all that good stuff. The wild mushroom dish was very flavorful but my girl wasn't quite as fond of the puff pastry acting as the bowl. Outside of that we both loved it. It's not a cheap date, but it is a good date. I'm glad we went! This is definitely a place I feel comfortable recommending if you're looking for a little more high-end night out.

My husband and I had dinner at Monarque for the first time last Friday…read more Monarque is Atlas's French restaurant, located at the end of Atlas Quarter on Fleet Street (you pass Italian Disco, Tagliata, and the Elk Room, and walk straight to the end of the alley). Their menu might be classic French, but none of the entrees spoke to me. It was a warm late spring/almost summer night, and I found their menu to be heavy and not very seasonal. I wanted something lighter, something more spring. Since the entrees weren't calling to us, we stuck to the small plates/hors d'oeuvres section of the menu and shared: Potato & Leek Soup (butter croutons and garlic chive oil); Salad Lyonnaise (soft boiled egg, bacon lardons, endive, frisee, and radishes); tableside beef tartare (verjus mustard, capers, tomato, truffle); short rib pappardelle (truffled egg yolk, red onion, Parmesan, and short rib ragu); and Iberico Secreto (apple butter, macerated cranberries, hazelnuts, and microsage). Of these, I'd say we enjoyed the soup and the iberico the best. The beef tartare wasn't cut/diced or mixed very well despite the very fun tableside preparation. The pasta had a truffle oil pungency that isn't for us, so I wouldn't order that dish again, but otherwise the food was pretty good. I do think there is better French food in Baltimore, but Monarque offers something special. The service is great. The wine and cocktails are great. The decor is cool. But best of all? Thursday-Sunday, Monarque hosts Monarque After Dark. Burlesque, cabaret, live jazz music... At Monarque, it's dinner with a show. The performers we saw were great. Monarque After Dark made our night. If the food didn't blow me away, the experience still did. FYI the music is quite loud, so I wouldn't recommend dinner at Monarque if you prefer a quieter dinner! We had a great time at Monarque. I'd certainly return - next time for some drinks, oysters, and shrimp cocktails and the show!

We order the turkey club, hush puppies, cream of crab soup, the charcuterie board, fries, and fried oysters to share. The turkey club was the star of the show. It had nice layers of avocado, the chicken was cooked well, and the bacon added a nice touch. For drinks we stuck to the margaritas and they were perfect! I would say you can skip the fries, the seasoning was great the batch of fries we had seemed like they might not have been fresh. The rest of the menu was so good I would still say you could skip the fries and order a double serving of hush puppies.

Although the food and waitstaff were excellent, the overall experience was disappointing…read more We arrived early for our reservation and were promptly seated at the worst table in the restaurant: the only table with no view, the waitstaff work area directly behind the table, and constant foot traffic behind us as well. We immediately asked the hostess for a different table. She told as that the three booths and the six other two-tops were all reserved. She left us with no attempt at an apology and promptly put reserved signs on all the open tables. When we left an hour later, one booth and 4 two-tops had never been used. Much to our dismay, we saw people seated outside even though we had received a text before arriving saying the patio was closed for the evening. To add insult to injury, even half empty, the noise level was so uncomfortable since everything was tile, marble, or wood that the alarm sensor on my smart watch sounded because of the decibel level. We will not be back.
