I am extremely disappointed with the service at Famous Lounge. This is the third time I have left without receiving my food. I ordered the salmon with spinach and mixed vegetables. I was told it would take 45 minutes to prepare the salmon, so I waited. After 45 minutes, I asked for an update and was told it would be another 15 minutes. After waiting those additional 15 minutes, I checked again and was told another 10 minutes. When I asked once more after waiting the extra 10 minutes, I was told they were still waiting on the spinach. After waiting well over an hour with no food and no clear communication, I asked for my order to be canceled. This level of service is unacceptable, especially since this is the third time I've experienced this issue. I enjoy the atmosphere, but consistently leaving without my meal due to excessive delays is frustrating and disappointing. I hope management addresses these ongoing service problems so other customers don't have the same experience. read more

Welp, I've been here. Probably wouldn't be my kinda stop but I was a plus one. I'd say this is a bar/club. We came around 6ish and no one but a few patrons were eating. Our service was okay. Ambiance - It's a Club... think no frills. I wouldn't dress up to come here and wouldn't come back to eat. It really is just bar food. My boyfriend and I stopped by here randomly to get something to eat in the early evening. There was a DJ playing great music and a bar inside of this restaurant. The crowd was on the mature side which I appreciated- it seemed like 30+. I don't recommend getting the mozzarella cheese sticks from here, however the Suya and chicken wings were pretty good. We did check in with the waitress a couple times to see when our food was coming. It took quite a while to come out. read more

I pass Famous lounge every day going home from work. It's located next to the Dutch Farmer's Market and it used to be "Peach's Restaurant " back in the day. Since the rebrand, I've been curious to see what they've done with the place. It looks bigger than I remembered. It's true to its name and setup as a lounge, with the vast majority of the seating (open booth style), placed against the wall, leaving the middle of the lounge open for dancing. We got there around opening time and it was empty, so we chose to sit at the bar, which is also a decent size. The bartender was nice and informed us immediately about the SEVERAL menu items that weren't available. We just went with the Tilapia fish and fries basket, cheese sticks and Old Bay wings. Everything was seasoned well, however, she said the wings were TOO seasoned. Not me, I LOVE Old Bay.. Lolol!! HH rail drinks were $7.99 and for only $2 more, you can get them "topshelf"! The regular menu is definitely inspired African Cuisine, which I'm trying more and more these days. If I lived near Famous Lounge, I would be a frequent HH visitor. I may even check them out one Sunday to catch a game, because they have several TV's throughout! This spot was cool. Very nice ambiance, food was pretty good. Lack of servers caused minor delays, but overall good. I left the party early and someone that works there suggested to my friend that I didn't pay my bill. I'm not cut that way and sent my friend the receipt. Didn't like that at all! Will I be back? Famous is a... fun spot! Good music, decent finger foods, and an accommodating staff. I will be honest, and say that they are... pricey. Very. Two double shots of Don Reposado, was $80 and as a FREQUENT tequila drinker, I know damn well that was overpriced. Even for Don Julio, that's more than the price of an entire bottle. Outside of the price, there are bands that frequently perform, the music overall is enjoyed and worthy of more than a 2-step, and the menu is full of options. For ME, I would like to return on a happy hour, non-performance evening to see Famous on a calmer night. But for the price that I paid, I'm okay on not returning. read more

Famous Lounge is always a safe option and one of my favorite HH spots in the Upper Marlboro area. This is a new spot as of 2021-2022 - it has a lounge vibe with DJ + music, lights, and sections with couches and tables. Their happy hour is the best draw; their specials are everyday from 4-8 (including Saturday and Sunday!). Enjoy $8 cocktails including rum punch, margaritas, and long islands. Be careful, these drinks are STRONG! Wine and beer are also discounted starting at $6ish. There are a number of food options including wings, chicken tenders, and suya that are between $9-13 which are all delicious. They have alot of activities going on throughout the week; Mondays are karaoke, Wednesdays and bingo, and Saturdays + Sundays are brunch. I haven't tried out Wednesday bingo yet but it's on my list. The bar is a little on the small side (sits maybe 10), so if you're looking for a quick drink I recommend getting there by 5-5:30 on a weeknight and by 6 on a weekend. Fortunately, you can also get the happy hour specials while sitting in the lounge/couch spaces. The spot starts to get a pretty crowded and much louder starting around 9; so if that's not your thing, enjoy HH then be on your way before the crowd hits. A few areas of improvement: the drinks can be inconsistent based on who's making it. It seems as though the bartenders have varied levels of experience - we've received a variety of quality tasting drinks. The waitstaff are all friendly but sometimes they could be more attentive to the customers - flagging someone down to make an order can be a task. Will definitely be back for happy hour! read more

I recently came here on a Monday for Happy Hour and had a great time. The happy hour menu has both food and drink specials. The drinks are well priced and strong! There are only 5 food items on the happy hour menu. The only thing I had a taste for was the suya but it was a little tough and chewy. I think I'll try the wings next time. Stopped by Famous Lounge last Saturday night to have a drink with friends and I was blown away. The wings were amazing! So crispy and delicious. Drinks were done well and quickly. Everyone was having a great time. We even had hookah for the table. We will definitely be back the food was so delicious I am looking forward to trying out some other items on the menu. My first Famous experience was epic. The whole place was a vibe. The drinks were hitting right. The DJ was grooving, 2 thumbs way up. However the last couple of times I went, there has been a significant decline. The chicken tenders are still on 100. But, the crowd has definitely thinned out. The grown and sexy vibe has been replaced with something that I would deem as a bit more basic, common, current at the expense of quality. It's still a chill spot if you're like me and come equipped with your own vibe and a decent social circle. It's just not as infectious and widespread as I remember my maiden voyage being. Famous opened in Prince George's County late December. The Facebook meetup group, DMV Does, really helped give this spot promotion, patrons, and exposure. I've been several times since it opened. If I recall, Monday was kaoroke, Tuesday was old school, Wednesday was hip hop, and I believe the weekend was more r&b. In terms of expectations, It's a neighborhood spot in a strip plaza. Despite that, The lounge restaurant is super modern, spacious, and gives the famous and vip experience Vibe. So, it has Potential.... I've had the oxtails and wings and they are pretty delicious . I've also had the lemon drop and side car and they are strong! The djs are pretty good and dj many parties and events outside of famous The only issue is it takes a long time to get your food and drinks. The place could benefit from being more upscale and doing live music, and networking events. I'm not in a rush to go back. But, it's always an option if you want with no cover , free parking, and in the Upper Marlboro area. read more

I am always trying to figure out how to have a good time without driving into DC. Well this is it, this is the place. I recently reconnected with an old friend and he suggested this place. It's interesting because when he had mentioned it, I recognized the location but not the name. Upon arrival, I realized I had been there before, but I wasn't sure it was the same place. This visit was pretty good. We went for Happy hour. There were plenty of parking spaces (always a plus). There was security at the door. When you walk in, it gives night vibes even though we went around 4:30/5. We were able to sit at a table along the wall.Our server was great, she was on it with everything we needed. We didn't feel rushed at all, but they did let us know our seats were reserved at 9PM. Again, we were there pretty early and it's very rare I go from day to night lol. I ordered whiskey and ginger ale. My friend ordered food. I had just ate, so I stuck with drinks and a vibe. He ordered a burger and wings. I will definitely be back. When I think of Upper Marlboro, I don't think of a younger (20's-30's) hangout spot -- or really a turn-up spot in general. But looks like this place is finally changing that. Remember when the parking lot would only be full for the Amish Market or a random fair? Well, now it's gonna be full most days because of this new Black Woman-owned joint! I decided to go one early Friday evening and had to park near the CVS! I wanted to just grab a couple of birthday drinks but the place was absolutely packed! It looked lovely, but there were people everywhere -- the bar was full, people were standing behind it, and all the cool lounge areas were full. I had to step out, but I told myself I'd return. This happened last Thursday when I decided to meet a friend for happy hour (EVERYDAY from 4-8!!!). Thursday is a much calmer day than Friday -- in fact, the busiest days seem to be Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. So their happy hour menu is quite abundant -- having six $5 cocktails & shots each, $8 top shelf, apps starting at $5, $5 wine and more! I tried a good variety, but I think my fav is the Famous Sunrise just because of how unique it is -- it's their spin on a tequila sunrise and it's cool! I decided to get suya for food -- now, I don't know how suya is 'supposed' to taste, but I thoroughly enjoyed its flavor and texture. Well done! So the place itself is really nice. The loungy areas look comfy and are mostly self-seating unless it says Reserved. The bar is spacious enough and the QR code menu is easily accessible enough. The music was a vibe, lots of throwbacks and stuff. Only thing I will say is there were some lengthy gaps between the bartender checking on us, but I suspect they are still working out a lot of kinks and having impromptu meetings in the back and such. Famous lounge is a bar/ club located in Upper Marlboro. I went to celebrate my friend's birthday, so it was my first time visiting. When I first walked in, there was loud music playing and people dancing near the bar. It's more of a club environment than I was expecting, but over time I got used to it. We had a section and the service was kind of slow. I had to wait over 10 minutes every time I ordered a drink. Though the drinks were good, they were definitely overpriced. I didn't try the food, but some of my friends did and it seemed to be good. Overall, it's all about the experience you are seeking. Management sucks! It was Sunday around 4ish. The place only had 5 customers, all which were sitting at the bar. I ordered the salmon with joloff rice, and plantains. It took 1 hour and 20mins for me to get my food. The bartender was good at checking on my food but it was all on the cook. Not sure why it took so long. Other customers started to complain. It appeared that only the fried foods were coming out at a reasonable time. After getting my food, it's was okay. Nothing special. We all know salmon takes 8mins to cook. The joloff rice is not joloff. It's yellow rice with peas. I will never come here again. No one apologized, offered any discounts, free drink nothing. It's so frustrating how the customer service in PG County sucks. I blame this on poor management. Why do you have 1 cook in the kitchen during peak dinner times? First time grabbing something from this spot so I opted for something I'd never had - Suya! I ordered through uber eats and by the time it got to me it was cold (not the restaurant's fault) so I had to reheat which made the already VERY well done steak pretty tough. Nice pkg the onions and heat seasoning separately so you can add as much or little as you want. The pickled onions were lovely! Mine came with jollof and plantains. While the jollof didn't have the heat I'm used to it was a pleasant fairly seasoned addition. The plantains tho...ripe and cooked to perfection. It is HARD to find good (sweet) plantains in this area. Famous did it right. Ripe, sweet, crispy edges and soft middle. Delicious. My group waited an exuberant amount of time just to order from the bar when a server did not come around to our table (even though this was promised). I frequent this area alot because its down the street from where I work, I sat in the parking lot on many of days watching folks go in and out getting the place together for opening day. Staff is unprofessional with poor service they try to get over on people with the bills by telling you one price and then charging another when the bill comes. I asked specifically how long it would take for the baked fish before ordering and the server stated 10 minutes or so I asked if she was sure because the last time I was here a friend ordered it and it took over an hour and she said yes she's sure because it wasn't to many food orders and it ended up taking so long that I had to cancel my order an hour and 15 minutes later as I had to leave which is why I asked how long in the very beginning. Okay so back to the bill two of us asked for a water and the server brought four 8fl oz bottles and set them on the table we only opened and drunk the two we requested however on the bill they charged us for all four not only that when asked about the happy hour shots the server stated that Don rep was $9 however on the bill she charged the two who ordered them $19 per shot and when asked why it wasn't the happy hour price she said oh no that's the price until they reminded her that she said they were in fact $9 for happy hour so she stormed off and then came and low and behold the bill then said 2 Don happy hour $18 for both smh oh and still had the 2 extra bottles of water on the bill and tried to say the manager paid $5 for the two extra bottles of water but the bill amount never subtracted the $5.
