I was told it would take 45 minutes to prepare the salmon, so I waited. After 45 minutes, I asked for an update and was told it would be another 15 minutes. After waiting those additional 15 minutes, I checked again and was told another 10 minutes. When I asked once more after waiting the extra 10 minutes, I was told they were still waiting on the spinach. After waiting well over an hour with no food and no clear communication, I asked for my order to be canceled. This level of service is unacceptable, especially since this is the third time I've experienced this issue. I enjoy the atmosphere, but consistently leaving without my meal due to excessive delays is frustrating and disappointing. I hope management addresses these ongoing service problems so other customers don't have the same experience.

My husband and I dined here early afternoon yesterday to catch the college game day games. The service, our waiter Steven he was on point definitely attentive and made sure we were good throughout our dining experience. The Ambiance I love it here! I love the TVs all around I love the wrap around bar the high top seating, booth seating is just a great layout. Parking didn't have an issue there so not sure that becomes an issue. The restaurant was pretty steady despite the rainy weather. We did witness a few people waiting in the lobby but didn't affect us. The seating around the bar is first come first serve so we were able to grab two seats without an issue. If you're in the area check out the sports bar. IMO it's more of an Upscale hangout/Restaurant sports bar. Definitely worth your time... Have fun and enjoy life:)

We might have missed the memo on the vibes because we were certainly overdressed. It was a Monday so maybe that played a large part? Let's start with the pro's the food had good flavor but not hot. Which was crazy considering we basically had the spot to ourselves. I ordered the lamb chops & he had the jerk chicken egg rolls. Our waitress was nice but barely interacted with us. She was on her phone and maybe completing some work on a computer at the bar. We had to find her to get the check smh. When we walked in there was an overwhelming smell of hookah and whatever they use to mop the floors with did not blend well. We almost walked out but wanted to support and it was bearable. We also did not think we could find more reservations at such short notice. I hope this review finds the right person and they'll consider the feedback.

Cool bar vibe & okay eats!…read more I came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a good friend's birthday. We were a large party of 12 and were an accommodated well. Our server was very attentive and kept checking in on us to make sure that everyone was OK and got their food on time. The restaurant is small, but what makes up for it is a cool vibe and good food. A few highlights that stood out for me was the lamb chops, crab fried rice, skillet cornbread and lobster egg rolls..... actually the steak n' cheese eggrolls were good too. As for items that did not hit the mark, I hate to say it was items that were considered simple to knock out the park such as the wings and a seared salmon. Both lacked flavor and the wings were bland....both the plain fried wings and those that were lathered in sauce. It didn't matter, both were a thumbs down. Not to mention, the jerk wings that we ordered for the table.... Was marinated in season well .... But a little on a dry side. Also, I ordered a crabcake platter and it came with two small crabcakes that personally was just okay..... nothing remarkable or out of the ordinary to write about here. I will say that they both were all filled with jumbo lump crab meat --no filler! For me, the lively atmosphere, vibe and good ++strong drinks helped make up for it. In all, great service, good food and decent plates....with good music and super clean restrooms....an added plus! Needless to say, despite missing the mark on a couple of the dishes, we left having a great time and enjoying ourselves. I heard that Marley's has a really good Sunday brunch. Perhaps I'll come back and give them another try because some of the plates were actually really good and worth the price point.

Their HH runs Mon-Fri from 5-7 and include 5-7 cocktails, beer, and wine that they offer at $2ish off the regular price. We stuck with the cocktails and had their Blue Lagoons (which are essentially electric blue vodka lemonades) for $8ish. They were tasty and after 2 of them, we were definitely ready to party. Next time, I want to try the rum punch for $10 - though I noticed the rum punch was premade (vs being made fresh per order). Unfortunately, there are no food offers on the happy hour. The spot was very empty when we arrived, maybe around 5.30p - there was one other couple enjoying time at the bar. Outside of the 8-10 bar seats, they have some lounge level seating, as well as more standard 4-top tables. At the very front of the area, is a small stage where DJ's and karaoke specialists set up. The food was really good; I had the curry chicken plate for $16ish and my girlfriend had the shrimp rasta pasta for $19ish. The food was very flavorful and came out piping hot from the kitchen. I'd get the curry again, for sure. The environment and vibe was the most enjoyable part of my visit; the hip hop and top40's music gave the place a great energy (but wasn't so loud that you couldn't chat. The bartenders were energetic, lively, and friendly. There seemed to be alot of regular patrons who knew each other and the bartenders - that's a really good sign. The star of the show was karaoke which started around 8 (when the bar was getting much more crowded). The karaoke host was great; she kept the group energized and led some karaoke style games and activities that I hadn't seen before. We ended up stay out way longer than expected because we were having such a nice time. I look forward to my next happy hour at JCK. Pro tip: It looks like they have coordinated, promoted parties twice a month on Fridays. And on the other Fridays, they have the 'standard' karaoke nights. Check their IG for the official, promoted parties.

I am no stranger to them, having seen their truck at Savor Bowie almost every single time I've gone. And I've driven by their brick-and-mortar multiple times, but never stopped. This one crossed my radar when my friend invited me to a soca party, and I was like "JCK Bar & Lounge? In Hyattsville? How have I never heard of that?" And now it all makes sense -- some time last year, Jamaican Country Kitchen expanded, and now they've got this place, DJ booth, dance floor, bar, lounge, restaurant, all in one. And I gotta say, it was a vibe. The staff was nice and I loved the decor and feel of the place. Bar was cozy and it was nice to be somewhere this late at night that still served authentic Caribbean food. They have happy hour, so I am going to have to return and get a deep dive on how they feel on a regular weekday after work. And I gotta see how their food compares to my other favorites nowadays!

I'll be honest, I wasn't the biggest fan throughout their run but supporting local businesses matters to me and a closing deserved a final visit. I'm glad I went. In true 1123 fashion the menu looked nothing like what I remembered completely different. But the off menu specials stepped up and delivered. I went with the lamb rack, suya potatoes and eggs which was pretty decent across the board. No complaints, solid final plate. Now the churro waffles, first time trying them and somehow they saved the best for last. The texture was perfect, the flavor delivered and I'm already mourning them. Those alone made the final visit worth it. Service was surprisingly fast and smooth for a last day operation, which honestly says a lot about how they chose to go out. Head held high. It wasn't always my favorite spot but they were local owned and they deserved their flowers on the way out. Rest well 1123.

My solo reservation was at 10 p.m., which was perfect timing for me. Similar to their former sister restaurant, Huncho House, I was offered a complimentary glass of champagne prior to being seated. The decor and ambiance at 1123 were noticeably more upscale, and I really enjoyed the overall experience. I honestly wish I hadn't waited until their final days to try it. I really wanted the Chuck Rice & Oxtails, but they had just run out. So, I opted for the Lobster Jollof instead, and it was delicious! But the Star of the night was the Charbroiled Oysters. These were, hands down, the best oysters I've ever had in my life! They were deliciously washed down with the Lavender Lotus cocktail. The night ended with the Plantain Bread Pudding. It was very dense, and I didn't really taste much of the plantain flavor. I took two bites, decided it needed some help; maybe soak it in some Baileys Irish Cream at home. Unfortunately, after taking photos, I left my To-Go bag at the restaurant. Overall, I'm glad I finally made it to 1123 before the end of its run in the DMV. It's always a little bittersweet when a restaurant closes.
