During 2018 H Street festival some friends and I stopped at a bar called Elroy. We was greeted by the owner I believe her name is Donna. This was a quaint bar as much of bars on H Street but it had a lively and friendly vibe. They offered happy hour drink special, and you can do hookah. The bartenders were on point. Downfall, Elroy don't serve food but you can bring your own food in from one of the local establishments. Elroy have a DJ and she was excellent. I would defiantly go back again and patronize this minority business.

The bathroom has a TV so you won't miss a thing...friendly service and a great addition to this end of the H St juggernaut.

Cool place to kick back and relax. Mellow vibe and great drinks. The 2nd floor and the patio are my favorite places to lounge.

Nomad offers no food just liquor and hookah. They also have cigars for sale but you're allowed to bring your own cigars. I had a Mango mint hookah which was considered to be one of their regular flavor options. The hookah was very flavorful and after about an hour - they changed the coals. The menu says that there's a 2 hour limit on the hookah. However my friend kept ordering drinks and therefore they didn't enforce that rule. You are allowed to bring food in and eat it as long as you're drinking. There are TVs inside and outside and there's music playing as well. They offer a nicely priced happy hour, if I remember correctly. They don't serve food. The drinks are pretty standard. The fact that you only are provided 1 bottle of champagne for $35 is outrageous. Especially for a bottle of champagne that's not a top brand. You all provide a $7 - $13 bottle of generic champagne. The shrimp & grits could be seasoned, and the grits needs to be cooked a lil longer. Also, gratuity should not be added to a single person's bill, especially if a customer has to keep running after the server to grab their attention. Service has become lazy and too comfortable. I will be writing a review ever single week with no problem! They can be very rude as well. I don't recommend. Also, be aware of the lemon drops and the frozen strawberry margaritas. Watch the door as well. Security doesn't check everyone at the door either. Most times they let anyone they know inside the door, even if they have a weapon.

The Gold Room DC has failed just as others. When we first arrived we requested Prosecco which they did not have. When given to other alternatives to the waiters (red wine) they didn't have that either. We opted for Moet Champagne along with 2 bottled waters. Which we were given plastic champagne flutes that clearly was reused. We drank directly from the bottles instead. Later another joined our group who actually went the bar to order a Jameson and Ginger Ale. While making the drink she noticed the bar tender attempting to use Sprite in her drink of Jameson. She politely said, I asked for ginger ale. The waiter stated, " we don't have ginger ale". As we continued, later we asked for 3 additional bottled waters. Guess what? They didn't have anymore bottled water... There's a Whole, foods, Walmart, and Giant on H Street. Did I mentioned someone pointed out the owners while sitting? The waitresses were the only positive asset. Genesis and Janet I believe there names to be. Hookah guy- not too friendly. This place has so much potential but could most certainly use an uplift with the level of commitment, cleanliness, layout and decor. Very janky, hole in the wall vibes. Hope this review brings some light as would still like for us African Americans succeed in all aspects of business especially in our DC landmark areas.
