Hump day Cheers!
Nessa R.

Let me start with a true story: every single date I've had since January, yes, every one, has taken me to Realm Rooftop! Pre‑game drinks, after‑dinner drinks, "just one drink," "quick drink," "we should grab a drink"... somehow it all starts or ends here. The Crowd... Realm is a shapeshifter depending on the hour. Happy Hour: A diverse, classic D.C. mix; government folks, tech bros, creatives, pretty much an eclectic group! And yes, the DJ is playing from happy hour till close, so don't expect quiet mingling, expect instant vibes. Def a younger crowd! Brunch: Mixed crowd, definitely couples and lots of girl groups. Age range is more versatile but again younger vibes reign! Dinner Hours: It's vibey, loud, and clubby. NYC VIBES! Weekdays most people have left by 8 p.m. Rooftop still live, and inside starts to clear out. You have couples coming in for dinner and also both men and women, doing the solo date nights. Late Night: The DJ is still going, the bass is still thumping, and suddenly you're in a full-on nightlife situation you did not mentally prepare for. More people show up and it becomes LIVE all over again. Ladies, Listen Up! There are LOTS and I mean LOTS of single men. They come in groups, they come in pairs, they come solo like they're auditioning for The Bachelor: District Edition. If you're looking to meet someone, this place is basically Costco for eligible bachelors. D.C.'s Notable Men After 10 p.m. on weekdays, Realm becomes a magnet for D.C.'s "notable men." I don't know how they're out late and still functioning at 8 a.m. meetings, but I salute their commitment to nightlife and national productivity. Age Range Reality Check If you're in your 50s or 60s, listen... you can come, but just know the crowd is young enough that you might catch somebody whispering, "Who brought their dad?" The seasoned gentlemen in here aren't blending, they're giving "somebody's daddy said he's outside tonight and refuses to go home." It's hilarious, it's chaotic, and honestly... it adds to the show. The older men usually have their token young date that you're questioning is that his daughter or his poor date? And if there is older men, they come in groups attached with their partners. The Vibe Fun. Loud. Energetic. It's giving: "We're outside this summer." Realm Lounge DC is absolutely going to be the spot this summer. Whether you're here for the drinks, the DJ (who truly does not stop), the dating pool, or the anthropological field study, you'll leave with a story. Food... Yes, they have food too! Date night worthy? I am going to say NO! It's definitely a pregame or after dinner spot to stop in and grab a drink/snack. Beware the menu is limited. It's tapas style and although good, gentlemen don't bring your lady here. It's cutesy and more for chill, and need a vibe! Couples come but for a first date, don't do it unless it's for Brunch! I feel that brunch is better. Let's get into it! Dinner: Oxtail is the most expensive dish! They are really selling the back of an Ox at premium prices and while it was good I'm just not sure people will be saying let's come back for Oxtails. (I didn't pay but still.) Tamarind Glaze Lamb chops - Second most expensive item on the menu, small and good but again not sure anyone is going to say, let's come back and order this again. Jerk Lamb Ribs - Delicious! Parmesan Fries - Delicious! Seychelles Corn Ribs - Great! Broccolini- Good! Vanilla Beignet Bites - I wouldn't order them again! Brunch: Crab Benedict- Very good! I'd come back for this! Shrimp and Grits - YES! French Toast - YES!

This wasn't without its flaws but I had a good experience personally. The curry vege flatbread is quite good and such a deal on happy hour. The shrimp cocktail came with a super tasty dipping spread. The angus sides were kinda small. They said they couldn't give my friend fries until after 7pm, which was super weird and annoying. They were also out of the carrot dip my friend wanted and she said the quality of the oysters wasn't great. Back to the good, nice rooftop space and I liked my two drinks, the "golden hour" and "trade winds." Trade winds was a lovely old fashioned type drink with a nice touch from tamarind. All drinks are 20% off at happy hour until 7. I would definitely return.

This bar was absolutely beautiful and had such a great vibe. My friend and I came here on a Friday evening, and I'm so glad we had a reservation because it got packed really fast. They offer a variety of small bites, and I highly recommend the crab cakes they were so, so good. The playlist was great, mostly early 2000's R&B. The cocktails were also tasty but strong so be careful! I can't wait to come back!

Their r&b night was a really good time. Of course it brings a crowd, so service was a little slow but every one who works there was extremely pleasant. The food was pretty standard bar food. No major complaints or praises there. I was starving so didn't get any pics of the sliders, but you get 3 and they were solid. My friend enjoyed her shrimp cocktail and said it was a safe choice. The parmesan fries were good too. The place was beautiful on the inside. Of course the rooftop views were amazing. Surprisingly the music was blaring, but it was a good volume to still talk and sing with the people around you, even when the DJ was on. This is the perfect spot for when the weather is nice. A good rooftop vibe.

Realm was such a nice vibe! I will start with there was a Dj on a Friday and they were talented! The place is also really beautiful. There is an outdoor roof top patio portion, it was too windy for us to sit out there but we stepped out to check it out and its going to be a hit in the spring and summer. Happy hour beings out a crowd so I would get there early or have zero expectation to get a seat at the bar. The drinks were great, the sliders were tasty, and the server was really kind. Id strongly recommend making a reservation, but it is definitely a place to try! We parked next door at the grocery store parking lot it was about $14 for two hours which the table time os also for two hours so it works out great, there is also street parking a block over and they offer valet!

Came for my sister's birthday happy hour celebration! Very easy to make a reservation through opentable. Very nice rooftop and good playlist/DJ. The service could've been better, we had to ask for someone to assist our group however the food and drinks were very good and once serviced our server was accommodating for missing the happy hour time; but overall a very nice indoor/outdoor rooftop space.

The space is beautiful. It's an intricate process to get in, think exclusive club access, which adds to the vibe. The view is also amazing when you arrive in the rooftop. I recommend sitting outside on a nice day, which was my experience. That's really where the great experience ended. My friends had already arrived and I joined their table. After waiting 15 minutes it felt like servers were avoiding our table. Everyone around us was having their drinks delivered, additional orders taken, and we had no one come to our table nor could we get anyone's attention 20 minutes after I arrived. Someone was setting up a pole outside and we asked if there was a server we could order from. Another server came by, they said they would find our server. About ten minutes after, he came by. It was happy hour and busy. We brushed it off. We placed our food and drink orders. They were out of fries, which was a bummer. 2/3 of our food came out fast (oysters and shrimp), while my friend's sliders came out 30 minutes later. The oysters were...odd. The oysters were cut out of their shells and put in other shells. They mixed and matched multiple pieces in each shell which was an awkward experience to eat. It also was served with minimal mignonette inside the shell, and given that they were washed/cleaned, the natural flavors were removed. No mignonette was provided on the side and i couldn't find our server to ask for more. They also tasted a bit off. I would not recommend. About 35 minutes after, our server came by and i tried to order the carrot dip (non hh) and was told they were out. I asked again about fries and was told they were not available until 7pm (after hh). It seemed like they were just not serving fries during happy hour? I ended up with a glass of wine and was pleasantly surprised with the pour! Getting our check was tough, we again couldn't get our server to pay us any attention. He was checking on tables around us, and just kept skipping us over. We ended up having to get up to ask for the check when he walked away from another table by us. The views were great, but food and service were too inconsistent. As an added, their telephone line instructs you to leave a voicemail but it does not work and just repeats the same message on a loop. Too bad, it's a great rooftop space.

Hosted a happy hour with colleagues here and the vibes were unmatched. Cozy rooftop lounge seating, great music playlist, nice city views. The service was slow coming from the bar, however our waitress was nice enough to make sure we received Happy Hour pricing on our tab despite the timing. The fries were so good along with their happy hour oysters and sliders. The island spritz was so refreshing as well. Once the rooftop closed, the inside had a DJ and dance floor space adjacent to the main dining room. Only complaint was the dance floor got hot and it was hard to find AC. But had a blast here

Didn't have any food here, but came here for happy hour with some friends. It's on the roof top of the Hyatt. The rooftop was a really nice vibe, it was much more quiet on the patio than inside which was nice. The views were amazing. They closed the patio around 10 & made everyone go inside. There was a DJ inside. The music was just ok but people were dancing. Overall good vibes.

Realm Rooftop was a whole vibe. I went with a group of friends and immediately loved the ambience. It gives contemporary with a modern, sexy feel that's perfect for a night out. The energy was great without feeling overwhelming. The menu is tapas style, which worked well for sharing. We ordered the Wagyu sliders, chili prawns, coconut crabcakes, roti short rib tacos, and jerk chicken fried rice. Everything was flavorful and well executed. The standouts for me were definitely the Wagyu sliders and the short rib tacos. Both were rich, tasty, and worth ordering again. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and a dope spot to catch up with friends. I would absolutely come back, especially when the weather is warmer!

What a beautiful rooftop bar. The ambiance is grown and sexy with a flare of bougie. The menu was perfectly crafted as well as the drink menu. The service was fast and the staff were courteous. I really loved the wagyu sliders and the passion fruit cheesecake. The lamb shops were good as well. Just a heads up, the portion sizes are on the smaller side and the dishes are mostly à la carte. The good thing is that the prices weren't too bad. Just plan accordingly.

I really wanted to love this place because the atmosphere and the food were so good. The space is trendy and intimate, very date night coded, I can tell this place will be super packed during the summer. The food, the crab cakes were good, warm and tasty. I like how they weren't too crispy and were the perfect bite. My only thing is that they had coconut shavings in the crab cakes and they were unnecessary because they didn't add additional flavor. The fried rice was really good, tasted exactly like hibachi fried rice which I loved. However, for it to be jerk chicken fried rice you couldn't really taste the jerk chicken. The service is why I can't give this place a 5/5. There was a lot left to be desired. While our waiter was nice, the team brought the rest of the food and forgot our fried rice. It took a while after we got our food for the server to come back so we asked three different people three times for our rice before he arrived. They kept trying to bring us truffle fries twice which we didn't order.

My first night in DC and this is exactly how you're supposed to start it…read more A friend brought me to Thurst for birthday weekend vibes, and from the moment I walked in, the energy felt intentional and warm. The purple neon lighting creates this sultry, intimate atmosphere without being overwhelming. It's the kind of place where you can actually connect, laugh, and still feel like you're outside living. The music was a vibe. Smooth R&B blended with some Jamaican flavor and nostalgic cuts that made the room feel alive. It wasn't chaotic; it was curated. The sound set the tone without overpowering the experience. What stood out most was how comfortable the space felt. Beautiful crowd, welcoming energy, and that perfect balance between lounge and nightlife. It's not just somewhere you go to be seen; it's somewhere you go to feel good. Perfect first stop for my DC weekend. I'd absolutely return.

I know sometimes men can feel a little put off by women being in their space, lesbian or not, which I completely understand, but we felt welcomed!
