Shortly after, Chris came over, introduced himself, and he was such a pleasure to have as our server. He started us off with drinks we enjoyed, and we had a great time chatting with him. We told him we were celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week and a graduation this weekend. We sampled the crab soup, and it was a major hit -- so good that we ended up ordering two cups! We came to The Park at 14th for brunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was such a vibe. The setup is a table-service buffet, which was a fun twist. Food highlights: the blackened salmon was a little on the salty side, but the eggs were perfectly fluffy, the jerk wings had great flavor (just needed a touch more crisp), and the grits were sweet and smooth. I came to Park on 2 separate occasions during CBC Week. The highlight trip was the Ohio Black Legislative Caucus' bottomless brunch. Park is a stunning, 4-floor venue with a patio in the back. When we were seated, our server immediately greeted us and helped get the mimosas flowing. I have to give the staff there a round of applause, because they had events on top of events all week. Through it all, each person I encountered had a smile and was pleasant with every interaction. During our time, our waters never got low and they were on top of replacing our mimosas bottles when we finished one. As for the food, my goodness. I heard that Park has an excellent brunch, but I was blown away. Not long after we sat down, we were delivered a stacked plate of French toast, mac n cheese, salmon, bacon, jerk wings, potatoes, and a pineapple slice with a strawberry attached. When I tell you I cleaned my plate! The salmon, jerk wings, French toast, and mac were my favorites, but everything was delicious. To round off the event, they had a performance by Cleveland's own Bone Thugs N Harmony, which we were able to enjoy on their many tv screens and impressive sound system. I was told I'd receive a text instead, which I did--but the communication that followed was frustrating and honestly off-putting. When I inquired about pricing, I asked a simple, reasonable question about how the total per-person cost was calculated. Instead of a helpful or welcoming explanation, I received a response that immediately felt dismissive and condescending, essentially telling me "First of all, you're doing the math wrong..." There was no effort to explain things in a friendly or customer-oriented way--just a blunt, transactional reply. I also asked if there was any way to ensure my group could sit together for my birthday. The response I got was: "No. Not at all. I am sorry." That was it--no empathy, no attempt to accommodate, no alternative suggestions. For a birthday celebration, that kind of rigidity and tone is honestly surprising. I completely understand that restaurants have policies, especially for larger groups--but delivery matters. The way these responses were communicated felt cold, rushed, and uninterested in actually welcoming our business. When you're planning something meaningful like a birthday, you expect at least a baseline level of hospitality and enthusiasm. At the end of the day, if this is how potential customers are treated before even stepping foot in the restaurant, it doesn't inspire confidence in how the actual experience would go. My home girl took me here on a Saturday night. Upon arrival, I can tell this is a turn up spot for all the baddies! The decor was fine; I'm happy we got a booth. We were seated and given our first round of mimosas immediately. They have a wide range of juices including pineapple, peach, orange, strawberry and so many more I can't even remember). Shortly after our whole party got there the food started rolling in. You start off with a sampler plate of all of their brunch items and then can choose if you want extras of anything. The plate included, french toast, eggs, potatoes, fruit, salmon, mac and cheese, jerk wings, collard greens and sweet grits! Babyyyy when I say the chicken was falling off the bone. I truly mean it. Every bite was better than the next. I was so stuffed from this first plate I didn't ask for anything further. And then came .. the dessert. I had one small bite of the apple crumble because I had no more space in my stomach and it was also delicious and warm. Our waitress was kind and attentive. She continuously brought over new carafes of mimosas and refilled out water. She even gave us a little bit of grace when our 90 minute brunch reservation was over. The service as you walk up to the front door and they check you in then you get handed to the host/hostess, everyone is really friendly and you can tell they run a pretty tight ship here. On Saturday, April 11, I attended a private event at The Park at 14th celebrating my nephew becoming a doctor. The 3rd floor was rented out for this event. The event itself was beautifully planned, and I want to acknowledge that the restaurant/dinner portion, bartenders, and service staff were excellent--attentive, warm, and professional. Unfortunately, everything changed once the event transitioned to the club portion. As part of the agreement, we were told that our group would be able to seamlessly continue the celebration downstairs without having to leave the venue. That did not happen. Instead, we were forced to exit the building and wait in line outside to re-enter--completely disorganized and unacceptable given the amount of money spent. What made matters worse was the treatment by the manager, Cat, on duty. I attended the event with a broken foot in a protective boot and repeatedly asked if I could remain inside and sit rather than stand outside on the line. Please note that an elderly grandmother and a disabled uncle were, in fact, allowed to remain on the third floor. My requests were dismissed. Only after my friend intervened was I briefly allowed back inside. While trying to navigate this situation, I expressed concern about being made to go in and out unnecessarily with an injury. The manager, Cat, responded with a condescending remark: "Maybe you shouldn't be in the club with a broken foot." When I understandably questioned that comment, I was immediately told to leave. It didn't end there. When my friend asked what had happened, the manager escalated the situation further by calling the police and refusing her entry unless she apologized. I need to reiterate that our friend had spent a significant amount of money, including multiple tables for the club, for her guests to be threatened with police action. This was not only unprofessional, but it was also deeply disrespectful and completely out of line--especially toward paying guests who had upheld their end of the agreement. I also want to be clear that the way I was treated felt discriminatory. As someone navigating the space with a visible injury, I was asking for a reasonable accommodation--to sit and avoid unnecessary movement. Instead, I was dismissed, spoken to condescendingly, and ultimately removed. The lack of empathy and the escalation of the situation made me feel singled out and unfairly treated in a moment where basic understanding should have been extended. It's incredibly disappointing because the earlier part of the evening showed what this venue is capable of. However, the behavior of the nighttime management was unacceptable and ultimately overshadowed what should have been a joyful and memorable celebration. I would strongly caution anyone considering hosting an event here to get everything in writing and to seriously reconsider choosing this venue. Based on my experience, the quality of the evening can shift dramatically depending on who is managing the space--and that inconsistency is not worth the risk, especially for an important event. Our line moved quickly, and security was efficient and professional. The venue has multiple levels, with each floor offering a different vibe. I especially enjoyed hanging out along the balcony, which gave me the perfect view to people-watch from all angles. They even have an elevator attendant, which was a nice touch and likely helps prevent any issues with crowd control. The DJs kept the energy going with popular hits, but their setlists felt a bit repetitive and didn't always respond to the crowd's vibe. The bartenders were cool and worked quickly. I paid about $25 (with tip) for a Casamigos and pineapple juice, not shocking for D.C., but definitely on the pricey side. I used to frequent Park in my 20s (ten years ago) so I try not to go there anymore. Even then, the food was good but that never made up for the experience of being packed in a small space, rushed through meals and less than attentive service. I was hoping this had changed as I was invited to a birthday dinner celebration on a Friday. Nope. We had a reservation for 9 PM EST. Surprisingly we were seated without all parties being there. I had high hopes for the evening given the start. The waiter was Shawn P (read from receipt). He was forgetful. Many things were ordered that did not arrive. Menu wasn't explained. Upon arrival I thought we had to order from the restaurant week menu but it took other guests at the table to explain that we could order from the regular menu as well. There was only one menu given to a table of 11. We had to pass it around. Service was extremely slow. Some of the meals ordered came with the wrong sides. We weren't informed they were "out" of certain items until after waiting 10-15 minutes for the item(s) to arrive. Then it would be "I forgot to tell you we are out of xyz". Food arrived to the table cold. It was sent back several times until finally they just decided to say there wasn't anymore. We asked to be accommodated (money removed from the bill) when an entree came with a side that wasn't in the description (mac versus mashed potatoes) then being told the kitchen was closed so we couldn't receive the preferred side - we were denied a bill adjustment. We had to negotiate separate checks at the start of ordering- at first we were told that one check would be easiest. I'm saddened to report that nothing has changed with this establishment. The food was still delicious but it's not worth the chaos. As slow as they moved it was as if they hovered over us to finish eating so they could clean the table and get ready for the evening party. We were promptly seated and while there was a little confusion on who our server was, once that was settled, our server was attentive and friendly. To make things easy payment wise we decided to do the prix fixe menu. The food was surprisingly good. Everyone really enjoyed the food and were pleasantly surprised by the portions. The drinks were pretty good too. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, the lamb chops and the baked apple crisp. I would probably get the Caesar or park salad the next time as an appetizer. The spinach and artichoke dip was probably the least impressive dish on the table throughout the night. I was happy with the amount of lambchops I received. And they were tender and delicious. Both dessert options are yummy as well. I will say the food came out really quickly. We slowed down ordering our dessert because our entrees came when we hadn't finished our apps. The Park has a variety of birthday packages that are special. I saw another party that had the light up letters with happy birthday and the persons name. We had the bottler service sign with our friend's name and had shots. The thing that just turned me off was that the Park must not be paying its employees properly. We were all under the impression that the 20% service charge served as gratuity. The prix fixe menu doesn't show otherwise. We collected funds ahead of time since it was a set price and you are only allowed to use two cards. When I went to pay, our server informed me that her gratuity wasn't included and the service charge goes to the restaurant. We added on gratuity because we wanted to pay our server but annoyed that it wasn't communicated ahead of time. The Park at 14th, please update the verbiage if the service charge is not gratuity. You should also explain what the service charge goes towards. Plenty of other DC restaurants do it correctly and add 3-7% percent to account for Initiative 82. read more

I had an interesting experience at Park. This is my first time eating there for brunch and there were some great things about it, but there were also some things about it that weren't completely ideal either. We had to pre-pay for our brunch before we arrived like weeks in advance, which was fine. As soon as we got there, our food was already plated at each of our seats, which I thought was extremely interesting because I just never experienced that before. Literally didn't have to order anything because an entire plate of food was ready for me as soon as I got there. The assortment of options were also pretty amazing. It was jerk wings, salmon, mac & cheese, grits, French toast, and more.. and they were all good. One complaint that I will say I had is I felt like the food was kind of lukewarm and in retrospect I wish I just asked them to bring me a new plate because it wasn't that hot. I don't know if they brought it out a few minutes before we got there and by the time we sat down, it wasn't warm enough, but I did feel like the food was a little lukewarm. It also should be noted that reservations are only for 90 minutes and they very much stick to that which is also offputting as well. But the service was extremely good. Our waitress was a sweetheart and definitely was helpful and attentive during our stay. It's also really beautiful in there with a great ambience and it's a DC staple for a reason so I would say good food good ambience just know that you probably can't stay at your table longer than 90 minutes especially during brunch but definitely check this place out! read more

Finally had a chance to visit the famous Park at 14th and I enjoyed my time there. I was there celebrating a birthday, complete with unlimited brunch and mimosa carafes. The servers were attentive and made the birthday girl feel more than special. Kudos to you, Park! read more

I was a Park fan when it opened years ago, it used to be the spot. Over that past few years though the service continues to decline and it amazes me how our community continues to settle for cold food and below average service. Vibe is good, flavor is good but I will never be a fan of serving cold chicken wings. read more
