Nice decor. Paul was outstanding. He was attentive. The Spanish speaking bartender in training who doesn't drink forgot my grapefruit mimosa. It wasn't until Paul asked if we were okay. After I mentioned the drink, and she actually started making the mimosa. Which was on the other side of the bar. We were not a priority for her. That was clear. I would have tipped above the automatic gratuity if Paul only served us. He was courteous..professional and kind. The lady next to me ordered the same chicken sliders. She had a whole piece of chicken. Mine where cut in half. Hers looked like a $18 dish. Mine looked rather subpar compared to her sliders. I didn't feel satisfied with the presentation since another customer ordered the exact same dish. Her dish was crispy and looked inviting. Mine was underwhelming and subpar.
The Yardbird in Washington, DC delivers an upscale dining experience with a menu that's well-priced for the location, atmosphere, and overall quality. We stopped in around 1:20 PM and were able to grab seats at the bar, which turned out to be a great choice. The Bourbon Lemonade was easily one of the highlights of the meal, refreshing, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. If you're looking for a cocktail, this is definitely one to order. The chicken sandwich sliders were delicious, with juicy chicken and a soft biscuit, but the honey drizzle was a little overpowering for my taste. I'd recommend asking for the honey on the side so you can control the sweetness while still enjoying the flavors of the chicken and biscuit. The scrambled eggs were decent, but nothing particularly memorable. They were presented beautifully on a stylish plate, though the taste itself was fairly standard. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly despite the busy lunch crowd. The service matched the upscale feel of the restaurant and made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, Yardbird is a great brunch or lunch spot with a welcoming atmosphere, quality food, and excellent drinks. I'd definitely stop by again the next time I'm in the DC area.

I've been to the DC and the Las Vegas locations and noticed that depending on which location you visit the menu can slightly change a few things. I prefer coming during Brunch hours which runs on the weekend from 10am-4pm. The buttermilk biscuits with honey butter and housemade jam are yummy. And the creme Brule waffles offer a nice sweetness for the sugar crave you might be having. And the fried chicken is to die for. Even has a gluten free option! But my fav brunch item is the gravy train. Which is a bacon, fried chicken, egg, and cheese sandwich SMOTHERED in gravy. This location also is within walking distance from a few metro stops. And there's a parking garage or two nearby in addition to street parking.
I have never been here nor heard of this place but not like in a bad way. My friend who has celiac actually found this place on the gluten Free app. Honestly god bless cause it's such a cute spot!!! I do hate that you can only order breakfast 10-11am but SOO worth it when you get the GLUTEN FRIENDLY CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. like what?! Period. I haven't had fried chicken in almost 2 years and it was so amazing. The staff was super nice and attentive too. good vibes all around. I'm forsure coming back- but next time with my BOYFRANDDD and he can pay for all the food I'm about to eat there. Well tbh, all the food HES going to eat cause he's a little fatty ( like me )

It had a light lemon vinaigrette that I really enjoyed. The hash browns with a fried block delight. I wasn't sure what to expect with the biscuit French toast, but it tasted exactly like it sounds. biscuits turned into French toast. It didn't have that classic French toast flavor, but it was still really good and worth trying. The atmosphere was nice, pretty packed, but the noise level was just right. My waitress checked on me often, which I appreciated. I'll definitely be coming back for brunch!

When you're looking for an upscale Southern meal, yardbird is a great place to go. The interior is well decorated. The bar ambiance is great. The floorplan is unique, with the central bar and lower half level. The menu is not super vegetarian friendly, but you can make do with sides or substitutions.

The burger was very good but $35 is a steep price for a burger. It was good but nothing special. The skillet cornbread is a must order. The chive butter was delicious and it's a huge portion. They do place an automatic 18% gratuity on all checks. We tipped a little more since the service was phenomenal. The good is great but this place is expensive for southern food.
11:30 am Bartender : Paul This is my first time and it was a 5 min walk from my hotel Eldon Luxury Suites. I came to meet my late a$$ friend for brunch. I did too much drinking this holiday season and I opted for spirit free drinks. I started with the PASSION FRUIT BREEZE. Cute drink and it's a zinger ... maybe it's the ginger ale that gives that effect. My eggs came out really quickly . I asked for them to be fried and scrambled but they still came out lil' wet . It was not a big deal since they were still delicious. Enjoy your meal and the stylish ambiance.
Yardbird was an amazing experience! I was searching for something close to my hotel for diner and yardbird was very close walking distance in the NW area of DC. From the time you enter you can tell that your dining experience is going to be enjoyable! The lighting, decor, and layout is extremely impressive. We orders their steak and braised short ribs with a side of Mac and cheese. Everything came out looking great and our service was outstanding! Yard bird offers a hero's discount! Don't be afraid to ask. We definitely plan to come again!

Went here back in September. I'll never understand the negative reviews to the food at this place as I've never had anything bad yet! It has got to be in my top 10 favorite restaurants in DC. I will say I have experienced iffy service which wasn't the best but the food and ambiance makes up for it. This go around I decided to get the Wagyu burger. I usually would do the fried chicken, salmon, or french toast depending if it's brunch or dinner. I'd vary the sides or mooch off my friends and haven't had anything off putting. Anyway, something spoke to me to get the burger and I was thrilled. I still think of the burger and it's been a month+ since I've had it. My friends will tell me I need to let it go but I simply won't. I do want to add that the server attempted to sell me on the steak frites after I inquired on the price since it's labeled "MP" on the menu. I believe at the time it was $75 and I thought that was not worth it. At one point she highlighted it was boneless. I chuckled as I've never experience a bone-in steak frites before. read more
Coming from the National Book Festival at the convention center we stopped in here for a meal. The only had a brunch menu, which I assume is a weekend thing. But before getting to the menu, it took awhile to get serviced. We walked in and waited for a couple of minutes at the host stand and, when no one appeared, we just grabbed seats at the bar. It took the bartender awhile to acknowledge us as well, and the service was pretty slow. This could be because the restaurant applies an automatic 18% gratuity,, and this can certainly cause wait staff to not be as attentive when they know they get a good tip regardless. I will give the bartender some credit however, because they didn't have the hash browns I wanted so they nicely offered to provide some truffle fries on the house. When the meal came out the fries did not, and the waitress/bartender noticed and said she'd check on it. I appreciated this as well, and soon we got the fries. The food was delicious! I had the chicken biscuit sliders, and they provide some honey hot sauce that you simply must try. It made an already good sandwich even better. The truffle fries were also good. I washed it down with a blueberry bourbon lemonade. It was on the tangy side but still good. If they work on the service just a little bit they'd be five stars easy! read more

The jalepeno cheddar cornbread was sooooo good. Let's start there! It was hot & fresh and surprisingly we both loved that there was actual corn in the bread Lol. We were on the search for some good food in DC and Yardbird did not disappoint. It was located across the street from our hotel so it was perfect. We got there a little before closing and the service did not suffer because of it. Not only were our servers very attentive but we received our food quickly, it was hot and good. Very fulfilling! It's a cute spot, the lights were dim but there was still an upbeat feel. Some patrons were hanging at the bar while others were enjoying date night (us!) lol. We're not huge sweets people but both enjoyed the baked apple dessert and the food was delicious. read more
What a great experience we had! The restaurant is conveniently located and has beautiful decor and a large bar that puts out proper cocktails. The energy level is high so that means it is a bit noisy. Server was fantastic, engaging and helpful. We had fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, Cajun shrimp and an amazing corn bread lathered in high fat butter. The mains looked amazing for my friends but I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was so moist and flavourful that my taste buds were alive. Portion size was very large and that included the desserts! I had never seen a chocolate cake so large. Food was good service was great. I had the chicken and waffles. They were good I thought chicken was roasted not fried but still good. Cousin had lobster Mac and cheese great presentation. Other cousin had crème brûlée waffles. Atmosphere was nice and clean. It's always busy so make reservations. I was able to make reservations as I was walking there. read more
overall a great experience. we went on super bowl sunday so it wasn't very crowded Sydney came right over and got us water and checked to see if we were ready to order anything. She was great, she answered my questions about the gluten free things and we placed our order. we started with the deviled eggs yardbird style, they were savory, I wish they would've cut the filling in half and added a few more salmon roe but other than that they were very good. I got the gluten free chicken and waffles (I missed this meal) they have a separate frier for it and let me tell you this meal did not disappoint. the chicken was crispy and juicy and the waffles were fluffy. it came with a cute little bottle of syrup and hot sauce, I went with the syrup and it was so good. there were little pieces of watermelon on the side which were meh since it's not in season. Overall my meal was delicious best gluten free chicken and waffles i've had out in a long time. my so got the american wagyu burger and said it was really good, I tried a fry and they were well done with the perfect amount of salt. the drinks were good as well, I got the sippin on trouble but feel like I should've gotten the bourbon drink because it went well with my chicken and waffles meal. overall can't complain and everything was appropriately priced for the area. cute spot, nice service, good food. read more
Visited this DC location next to the convention center for a quick lunch. It was the weekend, so it was a brunch menu. Big bar as you enter in the center, with seating around the rest of the restaurant. The gin cocktail I had was delicious! The cornbread was warm and the butter was perfectly balancing with the saltiness. The kids meals were above what we expected and our kids devoured it all. Service was nice, but a little slow. We weren't in a rush, so it didn't bother us. read more
Recently we enjoyed eating at the Yardbird in DC. The food was juicy and full of flavor. The chicken biscuit was absolutely delicious. I liked their version of the deviled eggs.. The burger was cooked perfectly and the truffle fries were by far the best I've had. Lastly the sweet tea was on point and just the way I like it. The tea had bold flavor with a strong brew and just the right amount of southern sweetness. I loved every bite and the service was the icing on the cake. We will be back. A nice ambiance after a long day of work. We sat at the bar for happy hour which had a decent variety of cocktails and bar bites. We ordered a Tommy's Margarita which was so so - after a little remixing it was alright. Starting with the Chef's Tasting Plate - loved the deviled eggs, the chicken biscuit was standard and the fried green tomato BLT was delicious except the fat on the bacon was too thick. The bbq grilled chicken satay was standard as well but the star of the show was the Texas Twinkie. A burst of flavor bombs - the bacon was glazed and cripsy, the pepper was firm, cheese was melted with a decent amount of salt - this is something I would order again to soak up the cocktails. This is where I have an issue - our initial bartender Tamika was very polite but then ended leaving without checking on us or saying a word. 20 min had passed until our new bartender Mainor (?) told us that she left as well as forgot to put in one of our orders. So he ended up comp'ing a round of pineapple margaritas (the best) as a good gesture. Overall it was a good experience for my first time and I look forward to returning. read more
After the car show we were hungry and came to yardbird. It was pretty busy when we arrived but I was able to snag a sane day reservation. We got the green juice, and the turmeric tonic juice, with the cornbread to start. For entrees we had the gravy train, chicken sliders with Caesar salad and the creme Brylee waffles. Honestly I would re-order everything all over again, it was just that good. Would definitely go back to try more and recommend, if in area. read more
First visit to Yardbird DC. Our initial introduction to Yardbird was during a trip to Las Vegas. So we made it our business to make a reservation and visit this location while in the DC area. We were joined by friends who were first timers. We were greeted as soon as we entered the door and promptly ushered to our table. The place was bustling, seems there was a company party on one side of the restaurant. In addition to the after work crowd. The decor is fitting, sets a relaxed evening vibe. Perfect for food and drinks. Comfortable seating and plenty of space for couples and larger groups. On to the food. For the appetizers we had both versions of the Deviled Eggs; the original and the Jalapeño and Bacon Jam. We also had the Cajun Popcorn Shrimp. For entrees, my wife and I shared the Chicken and Waffles and the Big Easy Blackened Shrimp & Grits. Our friends had the Spicy Blue Crab pasta and also tried the Shrimp and Grits. All of the food was amazingly delicious. Everyone raved over their dishes. For drinks we tried the Blackberry Bourbon lemonade, Firecracker in the Patch and the Southern Peach Bourbon. We had an awesome experience. Kudos to Lanita (manager) and Linda S. (server). The customer service was second to none. We frequent the area so we will return on our next visit. read more
If you blink you might miss it! If you're walking around DC it's likely you've seen Yardbird but haven't been in, you're missing out! We had a lovely meal that was great from drinks to entrees (we were too full to enjoy dessert but the choices looked great) We started with biscuits cuz it's January, cold outside and that calls for comfort food! They were 4 large biscuits with honey butter (not overly sweet and just right) and homemade jam which was just what we needed. I ordered the jumbo blue crab spicy pasta and loved every bite! The portion size was large enough I had left over to eat back at the hotel(hence the pic), one of the group ordered the wedge with fried chicken and ate the whole think and said the chicken was so tender and flavorful. My other friend ordered the burger, the flavors were delicious (who doesn't love a fried egg on a burger) only issue she had was because of the size she had to cut it with a knife and fork, it's too big to pick up and eat without missing out on all the flavors (unless you're one who can unhinge your jaw) Drinks were had and as a bourbon lover I recommend the blackberry bourbon lemonade. Definitely worth a visit and take your time to savor every bite. read more

1. Southern peach drink was phenomenal - sweet and summery 2. That Mac and cheese was very cheesy. If that's your thing, you're in for a treat 3. I LOVE Caesar salad. I often come here after a conference at the conference center, and it never disappoints. All the appetizers from the corn bread, deviled eggs, fried okra, and brussels sprouts were amazing and cooked super well. The flavors were all so good, the texture, all amazing. The steak and frites were also a plus, cooked very nicely. It does get busy when there's a conference held so I highly recommend making a reservation. read more
Over-hyped in my opinion... it was fine, but not a place I'd get excited about. I couldn't get over a soda water was $5!!!! The biscuits are what made this a good experience for me!!! The okra was also yummy. They're known for their chicken, so I was excited to try that, but their "not spicy" chicken was still spicy to me (not sure if I was served the wrong one or if it is just spicy). There was an event going on while we were there and when it ended, they were moving furniture in and out and left the door open to the (covered) outside area where they store furniture and it was SO cold, I had to put my jacket on during dinner. Probably won't go back, but if I did, I'd get the biscuits! read more
