Having missed opportunities to visit some of the other Death & Co locations, I made sure to visit the one in DC when I had the chance. I feel comfortable referring to it as a "cocktail experience." and a good one. Getting seated is a bit more formal and procedural than I feel is necessary, but once you're beyond that, sit and enjoy. Service and conversation with the staff is both informative and informal. The drinks are pretty special and interesting, with the complex flavors I look for in a well crafted cocktail. I was able to learn the differences between what to expect among all of the other locations, and from what I gathered, this particular Death & Co. is likely to be my favorite, and one to which I look forward to returning.

This was a great drink to have from the menu. Refreshing citrusy and just right for a nice spring day.

The service is exquisite--alert, polished, and without the slightest trace of being fussy or rushed. The room carries that cool, languid speakeasy air, alive with a pleasant hum that never swells into nuisance, making it ideal for a drink before dinner or after. You can sip a beautifully made cocktail and nibble a bit on some bread and cheese and fruits, and find the whole experience charmingly complete. Death & Co. is the sort of place that rewards a detour. I definitely plan on happily returning.

Make a reservation -- seriously, or you'll be waiting. This place is cool in every sense: sleek, hip vibe, moody lighting, and a cocktail program that's as creative as it is dialed in. I'm particular about my spirits and appreciate high-end, additive-free tequila. Death & Co didn't disappoint -- they had some great selections. I went with a Cazcanes neat, and it was excellent (and reasonably priced considering the quality). Service was top-notch -- attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly without being overbearing. You can tell the staff really know their stuff and care about the experience. Overall, I'm a fan. Death & Co DC delivers on every level: atmosphere, drinks, service, and style. 5 stars all the way.

Came in for my birthday and had an amazing time. Quality drinks made with precision and delicacy that packed both flavor and wow factor. Chef James personally brought out so many amazing things for me and my best friend to try out. Definitely a memorable experience we will be back. Those chicken wings were phenomenal. Keep doing all the amazing things you have been.

Death & Co. Washington DC is a nice addition to the D&C brand. I visited family recently in DC, so we checked them out to celebrate a special birthday. Nothing will ever compare to the original NYC location, but DC has some elements of New York that were nice to see. It is a small but comfortable space. The design is warm and intimate and the service was excellent. After visiting the Denver location a couple of times, it was nice to see a smaller, intimate environment that carries on the D&C experience much better. Denver is a lobby bar located in a beautiful boutique hotel. It's a fabulous hotel bar, but not the feel I want from Death & Co. As usual, the cocktails were excellent. I ordered a cognac/scotch cocktail called Fool's Gold (photo#2). There was a lot going on with complements of Amaretto, Cynar (bittersweet artichoke Amaro), apricot liqueur, and mole bitters. It was boozy and delicious. I also tasted Please and Thank You which my cousin ordered. It's a melange of Italian goodness wrapped around bourbon and rum. The bourbon is joined by rum, Cocchi Rosa (Italian rose-hued aperitif) Campari, Averna, and chocolate bitters. It was garnished with a strawberry which was a nice touch. I haven't seen a lot of whiskey/rum combinations, but this worked well with the Amaros and Apertif. D&C DC is worth the effort next time you're in our nations capital. Go check them out. Salute @thejohnnycocktail Fool's Gold Cognac Blended Scotch Amaretto Apricot Liqueur Cynar Mole Bitters Please and Thank You Bourbon Rum Cocchi Rosa Campari Averna Chocolate Bitters

This place is always booked so I went on a weekday and booked a same day reservation. I went solo and sat at the bar. At 8pm the place was pretty quiet and became more lively as the night progressed. This place was worth the wait and the prices of the drinks $17-$20 which is high but not unreasonable. I would definitely recommend going and I'll be back. While at the bar, I made some friends and got some free popcorn which was very tasty. I got 4 drinks: One hundred sunny days, tasted like a Long Island iced tea with scotch and brandy Master Po, tasted like a White Russian with a matcha cream top. Shimai Overstory, tasted like lychee, limoncello Dancing Queen, tasted like kiwi gin drink

Clarified cocktails & milk with cookies - say less. Death & Co DC is in Blagden alley which is a super neat part of DC with some of the best cocktail bars and restaurants. It's a small space and fills up quickly so go early and grab a seat at the bar. Their cocktails are all balanced well and their small plates are perfect for a pre or post dinner snack. Don't skip their boozy cookies and milk!

I've heard amazing things about this cocktail bar so ofc had to give it a try! Ambiance is fantastic-- super dark and vibeyyy! Honestly perf for date night. Service was really great with good recommendations! Overall, I loved all the cocktails we got! - Circa 1960: 100/10 (loved this cocktail so much! As an egg white cocktail lover I knew I'd love this one, and it def didn't disappoint) - Lost horizon: 9/10 (a more spirit forward cocktail, but it had the sweetness from the crème de banana. Was really good, especially considering I don't usually gravitate towards spirit forward cocktails!) - Master po: 7/10 (it's like a matcha grasshopper! It was very creamy and sweet so not my style)

Came here on a weekend night around 8-8:30pm. Sign is pretty dark but found it easily. We had a reservation and checked in smoothly downstairs before proceeding upstairs to check in again; they were waiting for us. We chose to sit at the bar. Place is dark and I liked that. There were a lot of groups of women! (At the bar, two to our left, two to our right, four at a table behind us...). Loved the menu. It was descriptive and had cartoon pictures of the drink. Hate when you think you are getting a straight up drink and it comes in a rocks glass. There was way that could happen with this menu. Our bartender was great. When I couldn't decide between two drinks, he described their flavor profile so vividly I could easily decide. And he was dead on! I started with the Shimai Overstory. It was citrus forward and I enjoyed it. For my second drink I had a Outlaw Heart. He made it up based on what I described. My friend had the old fashioned and something else. Service, atmosphere, and drinks were all 5 star. Ladies- bring your own date . Highly recommend!

If you're into expertly crafted cocktails, moody lighting, and an effortless cool vibe--Death & Co in DC is a must-visit. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like I had found one of the city's best-kept secrets tucked in an alleyway. The bartenders here are true artists. Every cocktail is a work of art, both in flavor and presentation. The menu is creative and thoughtful--definitely not your run-of-the-mill bar drinks. If you're not sure what to order, just tell them what you like and let them work their magic. They nailed it for me. Reservations after Thursday are highly suggested.

My first time at Death & Co. upon walking up stairs, you enter The Garden. It was beautiful weather on a Friday so we stayed outside. I went with the Tiger Stripes Old Fashioned. It's a bit different as it's made with bourbon and rum. Very rum forward. I'll be back to try the inside. Make sure you make a reservation.

A Wonderful Sunday Brunch at CR NoMa!…read more I visited CR NoMa for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed my experience! CR NoMa is a Moroccan-Israeli scratch kitchen featuring Middle Eastern and North African flavors. I love that it feels like a relaxed neighborhood spot while still being stylish and sophisticated. FOOD: I ordered the Traffic Jam Breakfast, which comes with scrambled cheesy eggs, a hash brown, and cornmeal-crusted French toast with maple syrup and raspberry glaze. Since I don't eat pork, I swapped the bacon for crispy lamb, and everything was delicious! The French toast was definitely a highlight, especially with that raspberry glaze. I do wish they offered another traditional breakfast meat that isn't pork, like chicken or turkey sausage. The crispy lamb was a great substitute, but having another non-pork breakfast option would be nice. DRINKS: I did the $24 Bottomless "Make Your Own Mimosas," which I thought was a great deal! Instead of constantly waiting for someone to refill your mimosa, they bring bottomless bottles of sparkling wine with a selection of juices, so you can make your mimosa exactly how you like it. They also offer a $45 Deluxe Bottomless option that includes the make-your-own mimosas plus CR Bloody Marys, Micheladas, draft cocktails, and Old Time Lager. An entrée is required for either bottomless option, and food is purchased separately. SERVICE: Our server was wonderful! She was attentive, kind, and accommodating. I explained my dietary needs, and she had no problem allowing me to substitute the bacon for crispy lamb. I really appreciated how easy she made it. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is surprisingly spacious! You really can't tell how big it is from the outside. I loved the modern rustic décor, beautiful natural lighting, and relaxed but sophisticated feel. It works perfectly as a casual neighborhood brunch spot but also feels like somewhere that could easily transition into a lively dinner and drinks destination. The broader menu features Middle Eastern and North African flavors, including fresh brick-oven pita and house-made hummus, plus craft cocktails. They also offer happy hour and weekend brunch, so there's plenty for me to come back and try! PRICE: The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. You get a good amount of food without brunch feeling unnecessarily expensive. And $24 for bottomless sparkling wine and juices in DC? I'll take it! Overall, CR NoMa delivered a wonderful Sunday brunch experience. Delicious food, attentive service, a beautiful space, good portions, and reasonable prices. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!
