Chadol Korean BBQ was such a fun pick for our monthly dinner series! My friends and I had a great time and honestly left fullllll. For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. The food is not good, service is slow, for some reason you can't order certain things with the tablet, and it's really easy to miss the little automated train thing that brings out your food. This place has negative reviews deleted on Google. Spend your money elsewhere, there's better Korean food in DC. read more

Was first introduced to this location at a Yelp event last year! Wouldn't have known this was here! Recently had a great experience at the bar. We weren't hungry enough to do the all you can eat but ordered a few items a la carte instead. Service by Taylor was excellent! She was personable and made excellent recommendations. After sharing my concerns with the owner following my last visit, I decided to give Chadol another chance and I'm so glad I did. This experience was a complete 180. Our waiter, Jose, was incredibly attentive and genuinely welcoming. He took the time to talk with us about the quality of the meat and the owners' commitment to creating an authentic Korean BBQ experience, which truly made the visit feel special. The meats and side dishes we ordered came out incredibly fast. Overall everything was awesome from the ambiance to the food, to the service! I definitely would go back again for sure. Such an amazing addition to the neighborhood and adding a much needed Korean BBQ spot to DC! Chadol is conveniently located close to the Rhode Island metro and right next to the Alamo Drafthouse movie theater, Kraken roller skating and pickleball, MetroBar, and the Bryant St Market giving you a wealth of options for before and after BBQ. Service was fantastic with staff being extremely welcoming, accommodating, providing great recommendations, and helping with cutting meat as needed. At $45 for all you can eat - the price cannot be beat (and kid friendly prices and menu also helps). They have a great selection of meats and opportunities to go premium (although the base had great options). We highly recommend the pork belly (of varying flavors), spicy brisket, and bulgolgi. With the burner right in the center of the table, a conveyor belt delivering the meat to your table, and a digital menu where you could order directly to your table - there was both novelty and convenience built into the experience. Chadol gave off a lounge vibe - dimly lit with light pop music, booths, and while busy, it did not impact service or the intimate atmosphere. They also have great cocktail and mocktail offerings. There are a lot of times when I go to a restaurant and am surprised by how expensive the final bill was relative to the value and Chadol was one of their rare experiences where I felt that we left with a great overall experience and could have easily spent more. We ordered rice and ramen along with a mix of meats, and everything was delicious! The steak was well-seasoned, the jowl was moist, and the bulgogi had great flavor. You could tell the shrimp was fresh not frozen and the curry pork belly was definitely the star of the show. The place itself was super cute, and I loved that the food came out on little conveyor belts it made the whole experience fun and unique. Made reservations for dinner after an early movie at the Alamo Drafthouse next door. We were seated promptly and given instructions on how to order, etc. Paul, and all the other staff, were helpful and friendly any time we had a question or concern. We didn't try and chicken dishes, but everything from the salad and sides, to the pork and beef were well seasoned and fresh. We came here on a random week night and were surprised by the turnout. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks outside and provides a mellow vibe. Coming in, we were just expecting a regular KBBQ experience but were pleasantly surprised. First off, the restaurant runs on a conveyer belt system. You order your meats on a tablet and within a relatively short amount of time, the food comes out. We tried several of the cuts of meats but loved the spicy bulgogi and brisket the most. They also offer chicken options which are cooked in the kitchen and brought to you. The ramen was a 10/10, even if it's premade. I've been craving Korean barbecue so when my friend was here to visit, finding a new spot to try was top of our to-do list. We were super impressed by the air filter system and conveyor belt both of which made for a great dining experience - no grill smoke to contend with and the meat came out fast! Unfortunately, (except for the plain meat) we weren't a fan of any of the flavors here. The Bulgogi was incredibly sweet so we didn't order it again, and the corn and potato salad banchan were also weirdly sweet. We didn't like any of the 3 sauces they offered for dipping either - they didn't have the traditional options like sesame oil but instead had this neon pink watery mayo? It was weird. Upon entrance you'll register your parking at the kiosk. - This is a perk! We came on a Thursday evening and although the place was half full and plenty of tables were open, we were told there would be a 20-30 minute wait due to not having enough servers. This seems to be a common occurrence here. We like to enjoy the bar before our meal so no issue there. We grabbed a drink and waited. The wait time didn't seem long before we were seated. Ambiance is causal, dim lighting but not fine dining. This is more of a causal dinner experience. Ladies, you can be cute but leave your dresses at home. I'm extremely disappointed with the experience on a Friday night. We went at 7:50 PM and was told it was a 1.5-2 hour wait. We waited until 10:30 PM and did not get seated or a realistic time of when we might, just that they hoped people in front of us wouldn't come. We went to other places for drinks while waiting and kept checking in w the host to see how long it might be. It was clear there were no guidelines or organization, like telling people when the waitlist is cut off because they can't seat people anymore for the full 90 minutes AYCE before their closing time at 11 PM. Despite 8-10+ open tables, there was zero communication about realistic wait times, cancellations, or a clear cut-off for accepting guests. I understand things happen, but it is a Friday night and you know you're gonna be busy. Just tell people they can't join the waitlist anymore??? With no Yelp waitlist, no reservations, and no compensation for a two-hour wait, they ruined what should have been a special night for many. My friends and I went to pickleball next door and afterward we were craving kbbq. We went during non-peak hours, so we were able to just walk in. The service was great off the bat, super friendly and they explained how everything worked. You can order the meat on the iPad screen and it comes out on a conveyer belt pretty quickly. I really loved the brisket and steak the best, the meat was very high quality. There are fun options you can try like curried meat and garlic shrimp. My friend also ordered a kimchi fried rice that was delicious as well. They didn't have your traditional sauces; I usually prefer sesame oil but you can ask for it. They had once sauce that was oddly colored but it's a mix of gochuchang and mayo and it was pretty goood. What a RELIEF that Chadol has brought legit kbbq to DC proper! The meat was high quality and the meat came quickly after it was ordered. I came on a Monday and was surprised at how busy it was! Our server told us things started blowing up over the weekend. After a couple other kbbq places opened in DC, I wasn't getting my hopes up that this one was going to be any good. I was pleasantly surprised to have been proven wrong! As soon as I walked in, I liked the contemporary aesthetic, but could also tell they weren't trying to win people over with an Instagrammable location. There's only an all you can eat option here, but unlike other AYCE places, the meat quality here was excellent. We loved all the meat choices were got from pork belly, beef brisket, pork jowl, pork shoulder, and steak. You order the meat on a tablet and it comes out fairly promptly on a simple conveyor belt--I love efficiency! We also got the corn-cheese, which was a tasty starter. There were 5 banchan options that were unlimited! Don't be shy to ask for refills, we must have gotten at least 6 kimchi plates and 5 potato salad, both of which were delish! The other options were picked daikon rounds, pickled chayote and corn salad. They also serve a salad, and we requested refills without salad dressing to enjoy with our meat--they don't offer salad wraps here. The sauces were the weakest point. There's a sweet soy, fermented soy curd, and mayo sauce. If you want sesame oil, ask them and they have salt at the table--sesame oil and salt will always be my best options! Pros: spacious, near the metro, and the conveyor belt system and tablet ordering is neat and different. Cons: it's AYCE only and the options are very limited, especially if you don't eat pork. The cuts of meat were underwhelming and some items took too long to cook. The shrimp in particular took almost our whole meal to cook. The season top blade steak was a huge miss- it was extremely salted and the cut was super thick and unpleasant overall to eat. We left most of it behind. If you really are craving KBBQ or want to take visitors to a nearby restaurant (seems good for groups), it's fine. But otherwise Gogi Yogi is far better, but honestly it's worth the trip to Annandale for kbbq!! read more

Located next to Alamo Movie Theatre in Northeast, DC, Chadol is contemporary and kinda sexy if I might say, with the low lighting and a slick decor. Chadol is pretty big and was half full, however, we were told there was a 15-20min wait to be seated, so off to the bar we go. Here is where Chadol got their point reduction. I fancy myself as a logical thinker and some may say I think way more black and white than gray, if you know what I mean :) All you can eat per person is $42 although the website shows $39.. fix that. The drink prices are a bit much, $17 and up, which is a little high given you can eat all night for $42.. hmmm! After 25min, we were seated and I can best describe our table as your personal hibachi station. You order your proteins from a kiosk and it's delivered to you by conveyer belt. I was thoroughly impressed, since I'm a self proclaimed gadget guy! Our steak, prawns, bulgogi and brisket were super fresh and seasoned to perfection. The Top Blade steak was hands down our favorite.. freaking delicious. The Bulgogi and Prawns were GOOOD but the brisket was a tad disappointing and wasn't what I expected. I filled up on the proteins and didn't eat any of the side dishes. My girl loved her ramen and salad, which were included in the price. Chadol Korean BBQ is a change of pace from your regular dining experience, given you're cooking your own meal on your personal grill. Super overdue review, but my bf and I were visiting from California ate here a couple weeks ago and it was amazing! Compared to other AYCE bbq places we usually eat at in CA, we felt like the quality of the meats here were far superior. We were both saying how the pork belly was the best we've ever had at at an ayce place. The kimchi and side dishes were also really good and i could tell they were very fresh! What we enjoyed most was the service, our waiter Paul was so attentive and kind! He made sure we were always good and helped us the entire time. We also loved how efficient ordering on the tablet was, and the conveyor belt. If you go to bbq often you'll know that sometimes it takes forever having to flag down a server to get another order in. The ceramic grill was also so nice, the meat cooked wayyy better and we didn't have to get any grill changes at all because nothing gets stuck on it. How fun is this place??? I was in town from Philly and my friend and I scoped Chadol out for Kbbq. Had never heard of it before but was in a really fun up and coming area near the Rhode Island metro station. The restauant was huge inside and had a nice bar when you first walked in. We liked that the AYCE options weren't set to specific menus like other Kbbq places you go to. We got to try so many different items, and the conveyor belt delivery of meats was super fun too! Definitely reasonably priced for AYCE and the drink list was very fun too! Our server was great, everyone we interacted with there was fantastic! We had to wait about 30mins for a table, which was totally fine with us as you can wait at the bar! We had a great Soju flight and wonderful smoked Old Fashion while we waited. I went to Chadol for lunch (advertised $29.95 ) but they only had restaurant week for $40. The converter belt is fast and easy. The staff is extremely nice. The banchan was fine - the kimchi was the best. The shrimp comes in boxes that they steam on your grill. I wouldn't order them again. I wish they had smaller shrimp that they cooked on the grill itself. Similarly the chicken comes to your table fully cooked. The beef selections were by far and away the winner. Come with 4-6 people. So this place doesn't have as much on their menu as other Korean barbecues I've been to, but for what they do have on the menu, the food is really good. The ambiance was really nice and I definitely loved the music that they were playing. It was like a mix between 90s and 2000s r&b, Hip hop, and top 100, it was great. I really like that.They validate your parking, since you do have to pay for parking. And the service was top notch. Came to Chadol BBQ with 5 people on a Friday night. They don't accept reservations but gave me an estimate of 20-30 minutes so my friends were able to go to metro bar. The wait was only like 10 minutes which was super nice. The decor of this place was cute and the host and our server were super friendly. The banchan we got was really good, we got some pickled vegetables, salad, potato salad, radish, and corn. The meat itself was decent. The pork belly was okay (pork belly we overcooked) but our table really enjoyed the bulgogi that we kept ordering it. I also liked the brisket. read more
