Located in the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. there lives The Dignitary. First, if you're staying at the hotel, how convenient is this location. You never have to leave your hotel for a quaint, romantic, lounge vibe. They have food and drinks. Good menu options. Didn't try food but the drinks were great. Excellent customer service. Would return!

Flatbread with dips - A serving of naan bread is arranged on a black rectangular tray, accompanied by three small black bowls containing different dips: a white yogurt-based dip garnished with herbs, a dark lentil or bean dip, and a creamy or cheesy dip with a topping of herbs. The naan pieces are irregularly shaped, slightly toasted, and garnished with chopped herbs.

The service was great the staff was very help. The ambiance was equal to any average hotel restaurant. The food was average at best. The bacon was chewy and fries were cooked well, but somehow still bland even when salted. None of the dips were very good, but they look nice.

The front of the restaurant - The photograph captures the front facade of The Dignitary, a bar or restaurant, featuring a large illuminated red sign with the name 'The Dignitary' and the phrases 'Great Minds Drink Alike' on either side. The building has classical architectural elements, including ornate columns and decorative stonework, with a stone archway above the entrance. The sign is positioned below a stone lintel with an inscription, and exterior lighting illuminates the entrance area.

The Whiskey bar is located inside the Marriott Marquee Hotel although there is an entrance outside of the hotel as well. I am not a Whiskey drinker however, the bartenders can make any drink requested. The bar food menu is provided by a restaurant inside of the hotel. We got traditional bar food items like wings, potstickers and drinks of course. It is a very low key Whiskey bar which gave us plenty time to talk and catch up with one of our favorite couples. If in the DC area~ I will definitely return again.

When you're visiting DC, you have to stop at this bar at least once or twice. It's located right inside of the Marriott Marquis. The vibe here is super chill. The lighting is dim, so you can just gather around with your friends while sipping and enjoying good company. What's pretty unique about this place, is their drinks are all named after the U.S. presidents. They're known for their burbon, but you can order pretty much anything, and they'll make it. The bartenders and our server were on point every time we visited this bar. They even took the time to take a nice group photo for us on a busy night. As you know, there are a lot of bars around the city. Next time you're in the area, try to make it a point to check this place out. You can thank me later!

Nice looking hotel bar. Was here hanging out with friends who were in town for a conference and when the lobby bar stopped serving at 11:30, we decided to get a drink here. The place looks like it should be a high class cocktail bar, but it's really just a hotel bar at a Marriott (I don't even think it befits a Marquis). Service was somewhat friendly, but mostly disinterested, and the menu had a special old fashioned with ginger syrup which sounded good. Before I had a chance to ask what types of bourbons they had, the bartender walked off to start making it. I was dismayed when I saw him fill the glass with ice chips (no big ice cubes here?) but was mortified when I saw him filling up the glass with Jim Beam. No disrespect to Mr. Beam, but I'd prefer an option if I'm paying hotel bar prices for a drink. My review of the old fashioned is "meh". No ginger flavor at all, but at least the harsh flavor of the Jim Beam was immediately diluted by the melting ice. They had beers and wines that seemed fine, so if you stick to those, you shouldn't be disappointed.

We came here for birthday drinks. It had a great vibe and friendly staff. We had two drinks each and man were they strong. I loved my Perfect Manhattan and everyone seemed please with what they ordered (since we did the second round). Fabulous snacky spicy mix in small personal bowls- a nice touch!

a drink in a glass on a bar - A glass containing a dark-colored beverage with ice cubes is positioned on a white napkin on a polished dark bar counter. The background features shelves filled with various liquor bottles and a television screen displaying a news program. The setting appears to be a dimly lit bar or pub.

Ok, now I have a style to replicate for my man cave. Wood, leather and velvet but well done. Intimate nook tucked away in the corner of the Marriott Marquee. Reminds me of stepping back in time to a modern speakeasy with just enough lighting to keep focused on your crew but also make you wonder about what's happening on the other side of the room. Selection of bourbons range across the golden brown spectrum as the sit perked behind the bar like a stadium of finely attired gentlemen ready to melt away your troubles.

Overall nice clean bar. The prices are ok especially for a Marriot Marquis. Some of the menu items on previous reviews are outdated. I would come here again. Good chocolate cake as well.

The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

Our bartender was Gaylan and he was great--had great reccs, laughed with us a bit, all around great guy. The 'let me just say this' was so soo good! It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

The drinks tasted watered down and unbalanced. The banana flavor in mine was dull and overripe rather than fresh and vibrant. The smoke and fire presentation was nice, but the actual cocktails did not justify the $25 price point. The restroom was unacceptable. There was urine on the floor, a strong foul odor, and the surface was slippery. For a speakeasy positioning itself as upscale, this was a major miss. The space is very small and service was just okay. Overall, the concept has potential, but the execution did not meet expectations. I will not be returning.

Ambiance: from the outside you'd have no idea that a hidden treasure awaits you up a flight of stairs. The decor was very mysterious, perfectly dimmed, and sexy. Next, the hostess led us to a table inside where the magic of candles, cozy tables, and intimate booths immediately meets your eyes. Did I mention that we sat in most comfy green velvet chairs in our cozy booth? How sexy! Service: our waiter, Jordan, was the best! He provided great service and recommendations. However, shoutout to the rest of the staff because it was truly all hands on deck. Drinks: the bartender is indeed a mixologist! There is no question of the magic he created in a glass. Her drink- I ordered the Attractive Nuisance, an elevated spritz. The drink was perfectly balanced with flavors to include G.H. Mumm Champagne, Avua Prata Cachaca, Cocchi Americano, Saffron, Vanilla. I literally tasted all the flavors in the drink and the liquor ratio was just right. Of course I went with another round, you simply have to try it understand why I did. His drink: El Tiburón-Let's just say that he said that this is now one of his favorite cocktails because it was smooth! Small bites: the kitchen was out of mussels and their famous donuts so we decided to try the Franks en Crute, the sexy adult version of pigs in a blanket lol. Such a delicious treat, well balanced flavors giving both sweet (flaky puff pastry) and savory (well grilled wagyu beef). Definitely recommend. The music was perfect for the evening! The bar was filled with all matured folks enjoying their group meets or dates, the atmosphere welcomed all. As I stated earlier, this has now become a regular on the list and I'm excited to visit again.
