I was here recently for a birthday party and the venue is beautiful. The views of the city are great, there's plenty of seating and the pool is a lovely blue at night. The staff for the bar was a little light with such a large crowd which made getting drinks at the bar a long process. They also weren't very pleasant. The food was great though! A cute little rooftop bar that has a whole lot of potential. Honestly, Hedy's keeps it up pretty well, but other guests bring down the "vibe" a bit. It's not your best spot for drinking (expensive and light pours with a limited selection), but you're here for the vibes. NOTES: -Accessibility-wise, there are two stairs that are required to get into the pool. Most of the available seating were high-top chairs; the couches and chaises were all next to the pool and in high-demand. The high-top chairs are plastic, seem a bit flimsy, and have arms. -Bar has a limited liquor selection. They can make a few basics outside of their menu, but don't expect to have your run of things. -There are towels available at the pool. I don't know if they're for hotel guests only or able to be checked out by any patrons. PROS: -Really cool urban views. If you get a high-top table, you can watch Thomas Circle and the iconic church as well as a good chunk of the area from the roof. Luckily for you, the high top chairs with that cool view also happens to be away from the pool, so they're much easier to get ahold of than the poolside chairs. -Tons and tons of pride flags. The entirety of their glass fence was decorated with pride flags for June. They were a bit unwieldy in the wind, but I was really happy to see them there. -Cute drink selection. It's definitely cocktail and wine forward with just a few beers available. Drinks are served in plastic "glass" glasses. -This place has to be amazing for events or private parties. They have a gigantic projector that can project movies/screens onto the building to watch from the pool. -Bathrooms are readily available down a simple hallway. They have multiple stalls and were really clean - though they were almost out of soap. CONS: -Depending on your view of humanity, people are either greedy or too drunk to remember to clean up after themselves here. There are lots of empty chairs (and people standing or leaving because there's no space) that have towels "saving" them for someone. Sometimes those people are just in the pool, but sometimes, it's a family of two parents and a kid taking up six chairs. It's frustrating because it leads to a rooftop pool just feeling like a lot of empty chairs with dirty towels. There are empty drink cups sitting on the sides of the pool and on most surfaces. -Multiple people standing in the pool taking FaceTime calls on speakerphone too. It's odd to be able to hear someone on the phone from across a pool. -Cocktails are poured on the light side of things. For the price, yeowch. Be aware that you're "paying" for the view and the pool. If you need a bit more booze, Stan's restaurant is a couple blocks away and has triple the booze for the same price for a starter/ender to your experience. read more

I am not an expert in alcoholic drinks, but I did not like the bombshell. It's literally cucumber water and vodka, tasting like a watered down vodka. I did not try the against the grain, but she wasn't a fan of the drink either. Each drink costed $17 and it was not worth it. However, I guess you are paying for the rooftop experience. There's a pool and a view. When the host greeted us, we chose a seat in a corner. Since the table was messy, he immediately offered to clean it up. Although that was nice, he didn't offer to mop the vomit on the floor. Maybe he thought it was just water or a spilled clear drink, but there were tiny food chunks and it clearly smelled like alcohol. Views can't be beat! This is the perfect for a date or as a start to your night before heading to 14th, or enjoying a cute date spot. Food is more light bites than full dinner during the time I went (Wednesday night). cocktails are yummy. Pricing is typical for the other similar hotel bars in the area ($15 ish for cocktails and food) We had an issue with the reservation and Kendra - the manager - was lovely, helpful and quickly resolved the issue. She also chatted with us for a bit to explain all the cool things about the bar and the hotel. read more

This bar has some of the best views! As far as food, I would give it a 5/10. It's not horrible, but I've had better. A bowl of nachos with carne asada is $28 dollars !! You read that correct, and it's not even fully loaded with meat. It's mostly chips & beans. I definitely feel like it was a rip off. The drinks are good for the most part and the service is hit or miss. Some of the bartenders are more personable than others. There are places to lounge around by the pool, but they aren't super inviting. The couches have stains on them, so we ended up putting towels down before sitting, because they looked gross . The rooftop area could definitely use a makeover and a deep clean, but if you're just trying to get drinks with a good view it's not too bad. read more

Very nice aesthetic to the hotel when you walk in. Very nice aesthetic continued to the 14th floor roof top. It wasn't packed. (Which I prefer) the staff was nice and the truffle fries were delicious!!!! Very small amount for the price, but still delicious. The cocktail menu is pretty light given it's a bar. They definitely need to add some more cocktail or specialty cocktail options. The view was very beautiful. I would certainly return. It would be a dope place to have a birthday party too! read more

I'm really glad I made reservations on my birthday night. From the moment my boyfriend and I walked in we could tell it was going to be a great start to the night. It's definitely a really relaxed place and the manager was super nice. As I was leaving he provided me a complimentary dessert since it was my birthday. We later went down to the bar and they provided us with free wine for my birthday!! The staff here is incredible and I will be back! read more

I visited this place on a Saturday evening. Their covered patio is pretty cute, and they have cabanas and additional seating over by the pool. This place is a vibe! Their menu did not look too different from most rooftop bars, so we did not order much besides wine and a couple orders of French Fries. Our server was nice and attentive! However our food took FOREVER to come out. Once received, I can say that we had the best night. Go to Hedy's for breathtaking views of DC! read more

First of all, I just want to mention that the valet attendant is the sweetest and attentive person I've ever met. Located on top of a cute boutique hotel, the vibes are very chill up on this rooftop bar. The view is great!However, these pictures don't even do any justice because as simple as these plates look, they are beyond what my tastebuds could ever expect. The duck leg is so perfectly cooked that you literally pull the bone out and shred the meat with a fork and it's the most moist and flavorful thing I've ever had. The deviled eggs were also perfection, I may be biased tho because I love anything with a bit of truffle in it definitely a great find! read more

THIS IS FOR THE HOSTESS WORKING 8/27 AT NIGHT TIME. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service. I made a reservation to go at 8:45. I knew we were going to be 10 minutes late so I gave them a call to let them know we are still coming but our Uber was taking forever to pick up us. No one answered the phone, it was just the robot saying to leave a message and they'll get back to me in 24 hours. I go to the rooftop anyway hoping 10 min isn't too late (even tho I tried to call to let them know we are on our way but no one knows how to do their job and answer the phone). So we get there, I ask for the hostess and she comes down 15 min later. So at this point of course we are 25 Min late, even tho we were waiting 15 min just for the hostess when she was no where to be found. When we speak to her she either has no customer service experience or whatever because she has the WORST attitude. I tried to explain to her we were only 10 min late and we tried to call to let me know we are not cancelling, just on our way. She proceeded to be even more rude and tell us even 5 min late is too late. I don't get why the hostess did not call the number I had put down to make sure I was coming like every other place does with reservations. OR at least have a phone number that people actually pick up. It really upset me considering I came to visit from another state and this is the service I get after only because 10 min late AND then waiting 15 min on the hostess to not even do her job and help us out. She basically said there is nothing she can do even after I explained to her what happened. She was no understanding at all. And keep in mind they kept my $25 reservation fee for only being 10 min late. Terrible terrible customer service from the hostess working Friday the 27th at 9 pm. She makes me never want to rebook for that place again. She needs to learn how to do her job and not be 15 min late to come host us. Then blames it on us for being late? Very pretty view and nice waiter, but the menu is extremely limited (only 5 things I could order), and when I asked if I could have anything that's not on the brunch menu the bartender was rude to me. Only come here if you're not hungry and just want drinks. The lobby restaurant Fig leaf is better/has more options. read more

We had a great time laughing at all their crazy policies like making you move after 90 minutes and not wanting to get us extra chairs for added guests, both of which we ignored. Food was very tasty and drinks were very good as well. Service was friendly but extremely slow. At one point our server left for the night and didn't bother to tell us.
