Come for the cocktails, stay for the view. Whiskey Charlie is a fantastic rooftop spot at the DC Wharf with gorgeous sunsets and sweeping water views. The food menu is limited, but that's not really why you come -- this place is made for raising a glass and soaking in the scenery. Friendly staff, Great seating both indoors and out, and an ideal stop for a relaxed, scenic DC evening.

I think this might very well be the best rooftop bar view in the city. Beautiful place to be to watch the sunset. You have unobstructed views of Kennedy Center, Roslyn skyline, Jefferson Memorial all the way across to the George Washington Masonic Temple, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and National Harbor. Service was great, but I just walked up to the bar ordered a Negroni. It was delicious and the place was filled with attractive people, but I still found it easy to claim the South East corner for the very best view. Recommend coming by boat and docking (new pricing is $50 for four hours) because it's always a fun and relaxing way to come to the Wharf. I would definitely recommend you bring a date here for a drink and watch the sunset before having dinner at one of the great restaurants at The Wharf. Cheers everybody!

this was curated from our first drinks which were Hennessey sidecars .. they were on point

we're celebrating our anniversary and we decided after dinner to go to the Whiskey bar to top the night off, plus it's upstairs from our room, why not!. Josue was our bartender.. very informative and friendly. John the manager was a great addition to the evening. we told him we're staying here for our anniversary and he made us another cocktail that was equally delicious.. we enjoyed our time and plan to return when it's a little warmer.

I've visited this bar several times for drinks with colleagues, and it never disappoints. The cozy, chill vibes make it the perfect spot to unwind, and the intimate size creates a welcoming atmosphere. With top-notch bartenders crafting high-end whiskey options, it's truly a gem for whiskey lovers. Highly recommend.

Very poor and dismissive service. Embarrassing treatment by the management because we spilled some ice. Treated us like drunks. Never going to this establishment again. Used to be very good but since the modernization went down hill

The ambiance of this rooftop was great. Overall it's just a beautiful place to spend the evening. There was no heat lamps and its a personal thing I know. Haha. Ordered hummus for 25 bucks and waited half an hour. Meh. I'd go again for the views.

Absolutely great views from the rooftop and they have very nice selections of drinks! and the old fashions were outstanding!!! Also the customer service was on point because the place was unusually full Because of the Christmas event that was happening .

Nice rooftop bar at The Wharf. It was about 100 degrees the Saturday that we went and the bar was just starting to fill up around 5 PM. They have a lot of delicious cocktails on their menu ($19-22+ each) but the bartenders were ready to go for any off-menu requests. The food is typical bar food, but good for a rooftop snack.

I was staying at the Canopy and the lady at front desk said that the rooftop bar was open, so we decided to go up for a drink. The setting is nice and there are some nice views. It wasn't too crowded when I was there and the hostess said there was service so I had a seat outside and after about 10 minutes, nobody walked by so I went up to the bar to order. Of course as soon as I sat down someone came by so I wasn't quite sure if I did the right thing or not. The seats outside were a little worn and threadbare so they didn't scream VIP. The drinks were fairly pricey but not too bad, although the sweet drinks were very sweet. This is a nice enough place and if it's not too crowded it's worth a visit.

I came here for late night drinks and had an excellent time! The views are amazing and you can walk right in. It can be very romantic, they have small bites but I wouldn't expect a dinner. This is a great spot to start or end your night and locally they're open late night even during the week

Well this must be the best kept secret of the Wharf. I didn't even know it was there! It's the rooftop of the Canopy hotel and is basically not advertised. It was pleasantly vibrant but not even remotely full on a beautiful Friday night. Incredible view and stunning atmosphere! I had a "Captains Choice" cocktail and it was super well made and enjoyable. its a pricey place but worth grabbing one drink and enjoying the scene!

I was pulling up Yelp to see what bar we wanted to go after and saw this on the list. We were initially going to go to the karaoke bar next door but when we walked inside, it was wayyyy too loud and obnoxious so we were like perfect let's go across the street! We walk into the ramen spot and ask where the speakeasy is and the guy led us to the back and showed us to some stairs to go down. Seriously, how COOL is this place??? The neon lights were so fun! We walked into the bar and immediately loved it! Good amount of bar seating plus some comfy couches and whatnot. There was music but it wasn't too obnoxious, we were still able to have conversations - it was surprisingly chill and exactly what we were looking for. Chatted to the bartender who made some fancy shots for us, had a few drinks. It was not busy at all on a Sat night which was nice. It is very dark inside even with the neon lights so it does make it hard to read the menus (had to use flashlights on our phone). But super fun spot, fun drinks, not too expensive, and a neat and chill experience! It was an excellent find for us for sure!

Trouble Bird was the answer to my prayers on a recent trip, where I was looking to have high quality drinks and a laid-back NON-commercial vibe with my team. We liked it so much, we came twice in one week, and I was impressed at their ability to handle and be comfortable for a large group in a space that can feel intimate. The lighting is nice and moody, the menu available via QR code, and the WiFi free and listed with password for patrons to use. We had excellent service both times, by the two folks working each night for a groups of 6-8 each time. There was something for everyone from the nondrinkers to the beer enthusiasts, to cocktail aficionados like myself. There's an amazing happy hour deal, with discounts on drinks all Monday and reduced prices for a couple of hours on other weekdays; it almost felt criminal how generous the happy hour was when I've gotten used to paying $20 for a mediocre cocktail at other nearby establishments. And the cocktails here are really very good, probably the best in the area, except for their immediate next door neighbor. The group favorite cocktail was the Midori sour which was incredibly well balanced and refreshing, and the surprising crowd pleaser was the Hamilton Dry Float, which came in a creepy tiki mug presentation that we really loved. We had a couple of the bar bites - the spiced peanuts were well loved across the group but my person favorite food item was the blistered shishitos, which came with a great chipotle aioli. The bathrooms are extremely clean and overall this was a bar favorite for the group for our week of going out and socializing together. Overall this is a gem of a neighborhood hangout with really excellent cocktails and service! Will absolutely come here next time I'm in town!
