I will say that this is one of the best bar experiences I've ever been to in the DC area. From the range of drinks, the clean interior, great service, I have little to no criticism about this place. I especially liked their Happy Hour deal after the work day. I will have to come back for their hot dogs... heard they're super!

Loved our experience here, the frozen strawberry margarita and Pinacolada were super yummy, and the drinks were top notch quality. Bartenders were so attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and TALENTED. I gave them a vague recipe of this unique drink I had at a Michelin starred modern French restaurant in CA, and they recreated the most delicious and perfect drink for me. I was blown away. Their ice cubes were so clear it was mesmerizing. You know they care when every detail is perfect and their shelves are filled with good stuff, some hard to find and rare to see. I'm so grateful that they even shared the recipe with me and showed me what bottles they used. I thought I was never going to have my dream drink again....until now! They have happy hour ALL DAY Monday. Highly recommend if you can make it there. You might even make some new duckling friends!

Found this spot on Google. You could walk here from the Navy Yard - business side exit . We found street parking, but it's also about a block away from the Navy Yard waterfront parking Nice cocktails with limited food menu

I had the opportunity to pop in to Trouble Bird after attending an event in the Navy Yard. Trouble Bird is a first-come first-serve late night bar with curated cocktails, canned/bottled beers & wine by the glass. Also offered is a creative selection of snacks & small plates. As soon as I walked into Trouble Bird I knew that I wanted to stay! The space is small but didn't feel cramped & the ambiance is cozy with low lighting that makes the experience feel exclusive. I was promptly greeted by a server (who is actually one of the owners!) & told that I could sit wherever I liked. I chose a center booth opposite the highchairs at the bar. The venue is suitable for date night and/or meeting up with friends & additional table seating is available outside. Happy Hour is all day on Monday & from 5-6:30 pm Tuesday - Friday. I ordered the Just Peachy Boilermaker & a chip and dip hotdog. I wouldn't order the drink again (although it came with a green tea shot that was delicious) but I would definitely devour another one of Trouble Birds chip & dip hotdogs. I'm not exaggerating when I say I devoured it - not until I was done did I realize I hadn't snapped a photo. It was that good! The onion jam really shined on what otherwise could be such a simple & basic small plate. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Trouble Bird and would recommend it! I plan on returning the next time I am nearby!

the truffle grilled cheese was so delish! It's a cute little spot with friendly workers. i did feel it was slightly overpriced for what you get here but the grilled cheese was probably one of the best I've had.

Super quaint spot with an awesome vibe. Definitely sit at the bar for a cozy experience. The hot dogs are the best around! We could also craft your own cocktail.

trouble bird is a cocktail bar but please please do not sleep on their hot dogs...my group all ordered kimchi hot dogs and no regrets across the board their kimchi hot dog was a 10/10. I don't give 10 to just anything so you know this was one of the best glizzies ive ever had IN MY LIFEEEEE! i swear it as a glizzy gobbler this was delicious. the sausage itself was juicy meaty and the kimchi was actually such a good pairing. the tang/sour and spice was the perfect complement to the dog. the lettuce underneath the dog caught all the sauce (love some thoughtful construction) and i topped mine with those chips on the side for a lil CRUNCH. oh and i couldnt forget the chili crunch on top to add that extra oomph! im still thinking about this hot dog weeks later and getting hungry thinking about it. i would MARRY this glizzy if i could i will DEFINITELY be returning. only question is when i hope soo

Fun time visiting the Halloween theme "The Black Lagoon." Miraculously the weather was gorgeous and we sat on the patio. The place is very small. The best drink was the Siren's Song, which also came in the coolest tiki mug.

Amazing chill vibe with Master Mixologists on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing better. Bartender is knowledgeable about all!! Back Soon!

Came to trouble bird for their Halloween pop-up and had a fun time! The decorations are really on point and complete with fun colorful lighting. I had the silent scream which was delightful punch like drink with coconut, passionfruit, and Thai basil. They have a well curated cocktail menu with a lot of unique curated ingredients. It would be helpful to have more explanation on the menu on tasting notes since some of the ingredients are obscure. Staff were super attentive and friendly and helpful in explaining the menu and making recommendations. Definitely check out their Halloween pop-up for a fun cocktail experience. Limited seating but a fair amount of standing room.

Cool spot, wonderful drinks. Everything is well balanced, properly diluted and served at the right temp. Only tried a few so far but will return for more! Loved the amaretto sour, morning glory colada, and bay leaf daquiri. wish the "everything" of the everything bagel sazerac was a little more prominent but understandable given it's a sazerac - nice subtle nutty notes.

Kind of on the tail end of all the hype of the waterfront Navy Yard crowd, this place just popped up a couple of months ago. I had finished up an event and just wasn't quite ready to go home yet. I saw this place about a week ago and said I would try it out if the opportunity presented itself... and so it did. As I walked up to the door, it looked so dark inside, I wasn't sure if it was open! But it turns out it was, and it's just one of those places! It has that dark intimate vibe that I've seen at some speakeasies, though it is not one itself. The music was energetic, and the bar was seemingly full, so I opted to stand at one of the high tables right behind it. Someone came over and broke down the drinks for me, mentioning some of his favorites along the way. The breakfast cocktails, especially the Sawada Punch and Flapjack Old Fashioned, really stood out for me. The punch had ingredients such as rum, espresso, matcha, vanilla-miso, and... cocoa puff whey?! The OF had bourbon, mezcal, brown butter and maple! Given the time of night, the espresso wasn't ideal (I don't like coffee, and I didn't want it to keep me awake), so I went with the Old Fashioned. It was a delightful drink that I sipped slow. The sweet and smoky combination was quite something! While I was drinking, a seat opened up at the bar, so I moved to it. I got to really take in the vibes. The music was energetic, yet the vibe was still super chill. I couldn't help but notice chalk on the bar... and I looked around and didn't see a chalkboard. So I asked the bartender what the chalk was for... and it so happens the chalkboard was right under my nose. The bar counter... IS the chalkboard! What?!?! That was the coolest thing ever, so yes, I got to drawing. All this to say, I will definitely return. They also have beers, wines and light bites. I read that the place definitely had the vibe, but being where it is, it's hard to believe! It is new, so I wonder if it'll stay that way? Either way, I gotta bring a date before it's too late!!

Finally, Navy Yard gets a noteworthy cocktail bar! In a neighborhood the bud of many jokes, Trouble Bird's cocktails give urbanites a reason to ride the Green Line to Navy Yard. After visiting on grand opening night with a friend, here's our experience. 1) Cocktails: The brainchild of veterans of the D.C. bar scene, the drink menu is masterfully curated. There are fourteen cocktails, including two frozen and two large format drinks. Prices range between $14-$17 for normal cocktails and are organized under two categories- "Breakfast for Dinner" and "Classics-ish." Enjoying more sweet and sour drinks, I ordered the Amaretto Sour and Bay Leaf Daquiri. Both were the most unique versions of the classics I've had. The Amaretto Sour's double almond made it a bit more nutty, but it really worked. The avocado and bay leaf in the daquiri were excellent. It's a refreshing sour drink! 2) Food: They have a small menu of snacks around the theme of "Thai-talian classics." There's a $15 14-month prosciutto and a $18 fried chicken bao. There's also one dessert- Thai Tea Eclair. 3) Space: It's a small space with a bar with seating, a few high tables for standing and cushioned seating along the side of the room. It's dimly lit and on opening night, the music was playing very loudly. (We almost left because of the noise. I'm getting old!) 4) Service: It was customer-focused without being too nice, efficient and on point. Staff are chill yet masterful at their craft. 5) Neighborhood: It's in Navy Yard, a rapidly-developing neighborhood whose gentrification is the bud of every D.C. joke. That being said, there are many restaurants along the Anacostia River and close to a Metro station. If you like craft cocktails, Trouble Bird should be on your list!

I was pulling up Yelp to see what bar we wanted to go after and saw this on the list. We were initially going to go to the karaoke bar next door but when we walked inside, it was wayyyy too loud and obnoxious so we were like perfect let's go across the street! We walk into the ramen spot and ask where the speakeasy is and the guy led us to the back and showed us to some stairs to go down. Seriously, how COOL is this place??? The neon lights were so fun! We walked into the bar and immediately loved it! Good amount of bar seating plus some comfy couches and whatnot. There was music but it wasn't too obnoxious, we were still able to have conversations - it was surprisingly chill and exactly what we were looking for. Chatted to the bartender who made some fancy shots for us, had a few drinks. It was not busy at all on a Sat night which was nice. It is very dark inside even with the neon lights so it does make it hard to read the menus (had to use flashlights on our phone). But super fun spot, fun drinks, not too expensive, and a neat and chill experience! It was an excellent find for us for sure!
