I enjoyed this restaurant very much. The ambience is a plus, including that it is quiet enough that you can talk without having to scream. My favorite dish was Palak Chat, a spinach appetizer. It was delicious. I also ordered the lamb seekh kabob appetizer & liked it. I would order it again. For my entree I had the saag, choosing to have it with lamb. It was fine, although next time I want to try the fried fish.

Ordering takeout over the phone on a busy Friday night, I walked into their kind staff. They were so helpful and passionate about their restaurant. We ordered chaat, chicken tikka masala, chutney, naan, and gulab jamun. The winner was the gulab jamun. Heated for 15 seconds in the microwave did the trick. Everything else was fine, but not as flavorful as other restaurants nearby. Overall, it's a decent place. One thing to note is that the mild dishes are still a little spicy.

I'm a huge fan of Indian food and was excited to try this place. On a late Sunday afternoon it wasn't too busy. We got seated right away. I found parking nearby! Every Indian restaurant has their own level of spicy so I inquired. This restaurant goes from 1 to 10. Since I'd never been here, I decided to go at level 7 but I could have went up higher because my food wasn't spicy enough for me. I got the chicken tikka masala which came with rice and I ordered a side of garlic naan. While the food was good I thought like the portions were somewhat small. The service was great though! I would visit again but not in a hurry!

I've been here multiple times and the food is always amazing--full of flavor and clearly made with care. The owner is incredibly kind and always treats us so well, which makes every visit even better. Great food, great service, and one of my favorite Indian restaurants. Highly recommend!

This Indian cuisine spot had been on my try list for awhile and I finally got to check them out recently. The restaurant is a lot larger than it appeared from the outside with a long bar surrounded by dark-colored small tables and booth seating with simple but elegant decor throughout the space. The weather wasn't great so there weren't too many customers at the time but nonetheless service was timely and our server was very attentive and helpful. I came in just as dinner service was starting and their menu features appetizers like paneer, veggie samosas, and pakora, and traditional entrees like chicken tikka masala, Lamb curry, various protein kabobs, various protein biryani's, and a variety of naan's with prices ranging from $12-$20. They also allow you to choose the spice level for your dish which is convenient for folks like me who enjoy the cuisine but may want a little less heat to better enjoy the flavors of the dish. I decided to try out the shrimp biryani dish which was excellent: well seasoned, large shrimp portions, vibrant ingredients, and even on a milder spice level still had the right amount of kick to it. Overall a very enjoyable authentic cuisine experience and I highly recommend giving them a try.

The service was exceptional. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs and brought our food out in a decent time. The ambiance was moody and beautiful. Also had veg samosas but didn't get a picture of those because they were gone the moment they arrived lol everything was delicious.

Finally was able to try this restaurant, on a Saturday for an early dinner. We were seated, no reservation. Food was pretty good, we got lamb saag and chicken makhani that came with basmati rice. We also got a bread basket. My favorite was the garlic naan. The lamb saag was good and the makhani was new to us, but was also good. The makhani had a sweetness to it that was probably from the tomatoes. The portions and price were pretty standard. The service was good, and the servers were very attentive. The restaurant had available tables, booths, and bar seating area. The decor was nice, the lighting was a little darker overall though.

My friends were telling me about this spot and I've been eager to try since my closet favorite Indian restaurant near the Waterfront Metro closed. Right away I noticed the restaurant was clean, modern, and spacious. There are booths, tables and even an extensive bar area. To my surprise the former manager of the aforementioned Indian restaurant was managing this restaurant! He is phenomenal, the guy knows how to make a repeat customer out of everyone. He gave us some menu recommendations and we went for it. The staff were relaxed and attentive. They knew the menu well and even showed us the right option for wine with our meal. Enjoyed this place it's perfect for all occasions.

This place has a nice ambiance and cool bar with really creative drinks. My friend got a spicy mango jalapeño cocktail that was quite interesting. For non alcoholic drinks, the mango lassi is soooo good, it is a sweet and refreshing balance. A perfect pairing to curry. The curries here are sooooo delicious. If you're okay with light spice the medium level spice is the perfect amount. The lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Korma were both a hit! Also don't forget to try the garlic naan. Servers were really attentive and kind as well.

I had : Aloo Cheese Tikki Daal Fry "mild" Goat Cheese Malai Dumplings "Desi Spicy" Cheese Naan Kesar Rice Pudding They where all delicious. Can't wait to try something else new from their menu.

Initially was going to the restaurant across the street but Indian sounded so good instead. I looked up the reviews and everyone's praises had me crossing the street. I was not disappointed and I concur with all the reviews. The food here is fantastic! The service was impeccable and the kindness from every person there just made me so happy and comfortable. I will definitely be coming back and i highly recommend eating here. Excellent experience! I got the Saag which had so many different flavors with the garlic Naan that complimented it perfectly! Great portions, left with a happy belly and leftovers as I was unable to finish it all although I wanted to try. I am having it for breakfast before my flight home! Thank you so much for this truly amazing meal and hospitality!

I genuinely believe I have now tried 90% of the Indian food in DC - relatively new spot, with indoor and outdoor seating. the bar is pretty, the tropical house music was oddly a vibe... I liked our big booth but it is always a bit awkwardly empty here - super sweet waitress, mid food. the appetizer, honey garlic shrimp, was very blah. four pieces of shrimp in a garlic sauce on some roasted onions. there was no honey sweetness and it just tasted like a small portion of a light stir fry - the chicken tandoori was super moist and flavorful. the best dish we got. very lemony which was nice to accompany the spice. it came with a chutney that was slightly cooking and some sort of curry sauce. I liked having the sauces to pour on the MOUND of rice at the table - lamb rogan josh was definitely better than anything we could whip up in the kitchen, but nothing to come back for. portion of meat was lacking and the flavor was just okay. for the price point we would rather go to indigo. or down the street to Bombay street food. - was for some reason the massive cup for beer made me have more respect for this spot, but this is probably the first Indian restaurant I've been to that is salt and pepper on the table?! i don't know what that even says

The origin of this place's name eludes me, but it is an interesting place. It's got a snazzy atmosphere and I was surprised it wasn't more crowded. There are other Indian restaurants in the area. I was happy with this one. Getting a dal that was clearly labeled as vegan, I asked for the maximum spice level and got it, with an astringent herbal tang to match. Ordering a mushroom naan provided an interesting flavor contrast and a good way to mop things up. A ginger tea was strong and ordering a pot was worthwhile. My old favorite Indian place in Southeast is gone, so this has a chance to become my new one.

I was pulling up Yelp to see what bar we wanted to go after and saw this on the list. We were initially going to go to the karaoke bar next door but when we walked inside, it was wayyyy too loud and obnoxious so we were like perfect let's go across the street! We walk into the ramen spot and ask where the speakeasy is and the guy led us to the back and showed us to some stairs to go down. Seriously, how COOL is this place??? The neon lights were so fun! We walked into the bar and immediately loved it! Good amount of bar seating plus some comfy couches and whatnot. There was music but it wasn't too obnoxious, we were still able to have conversations - it was surprisingly chill and exactly what we were looking for. Chatted to the bartender who made some fancy shots for us, had a few drinks. It was not busy at all on a Sat night which was nice. It is very dark inside even with the neon lights so it does make it hard to read the menus (had to use flashlights on our phone). But super fun spot, fun drinks, not too expensive, and a neat and chill experience! It was an excellent find for us for sure!

Trouble Bird was the answer to my prayers on a recent trip, where I was looking to have high quality drinks and a laid-back NON-commercial vibe with my team. We liked it so much, we came twice in one week, and I was impressed at their ability to handle and be comfortable for a large group in a space that can feel intimate. The lighting is nice and moody, the menu available via QR code, and the WiFi free and listed with password for patrons to use. We had excellent service both times, by the two folks working each night for a groups of 6-8 each time. There was something for everyone from the nondrinkers to the beer enthusiasts, to cocktail aficionados like myself. There's an amazing happy hour deal, with discounts on drinks all Monday and reduced prices for a couple of hours on other weekdays; it almost felt criminal how generous the happy hour was when I've gotten used to paying $20 for a mediocre cocktail at other nearby establishments. And the cocktails here are really very good, probably the best in the area, except for their immediate next door neighbor. The group favorite cocktail was the Midori sour which was incredibly well balanced and refreshing, and the surprising crowd pleaser was the Hamilton Dry Float, which came in a creepy tiki mug presentation that we really loved. We had a couple of the bar bites - the spiced peanuts were well loved across the group but my person favorite food item was the blistered shishitos, which came with a great chipotle aioli. The bathrooms are extremely clean and overall this was a bar favorite for the group for our week of going out and socializing together. Overall this is a gem of a neighborhood hangout with really excellent cocktails and service! Will absolutely come here next time I'm in town!
