I visited Lobby Bar to try their limited-edition Halloween cocktails, but of course, I had to explore the food menu, too! If you're looking for a spot for cocktails and dinner, this is a fun option to add to your list. The Halloween cocktail menu features two creative drinks: The Devil's Alibi, made with smoky mezcal, strawberry, warm falernum spice, and bittersweet dark chocolate notes, and The Witch's Cauldron, a jet-black gin cocktail with floral lavender, bright lemon, and a hint of absinthe. Both have a fun, spooky-season feel, and The Witch's Cauldron is especially eye-catching. For food, we tried the coffee-rubbed lamb lollipops, Maryland crab dip, East and West Coast oysters, Wagyu steak frites, spicy rigatoni, and cider-glazed pork chop. We also sampled two of their new fall cocktails: Honey I'm Home, featuring gin, vanilla honey, lemon, and lavender bitters, and Peach Don't Kill My Vibe, made with Hennessy VS, peach schnapps, lemon, and simple syrup. To finish, we had the Espresso No Depresso and a S'mores Skillet Cookie for dessert. If you enjoy seasonal cocktails and having plenty of food options to explore, Lobby Bar is worth checking out. The Halloween cocktails are only available this week, so be sure to ask about their availability if you're planning a visit. read more

I don't even know where to start, the best martini I've ever had or the caviar bumps? Well, let's dive in. First off, it's this cute place in eastern market (one of the best D.C. neighborhoods). The bar is tiny, so unless you want a bar seat make a reservation. Personally, I prefer to sit at the bar at a place like this, but it can be hard to find seats together during peak hours. The staff is lovely as well. Now for the reason we are all here, the food: Sike. You're not here to drink, you are here to eat caviar and down 5 of the best dirty martinis you have ever had. I think the food is decent, but not worth the price point and can be a little gimicky. Still, order some fries so you don't wake up too hungover. Also, do a caviar bump for good luck. I dont know what they put in the drinks but they are some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Whether its dirty or pornstar, you won't go wrong ordering a martini. Overall, 9/10. #LiveLaughLobbyBar read more

Very satisfying. If you're around Capitol Hill, they are a must visit. It is a lovely environment, great for a date night, family dinner, or even a casual meal. I love a versatile space. During October, they were decked out really nicely with Halloween decor, including It and Chucky masks on the walls to watch you while you eat. They had a cinnamon candle burning at front, too, and it filled the whole place with this warm, comforting spiced scent. It was great. On to the goods. The cocktails are fantastic classics. The vesper was excellent. Strong and lemony and well balanced. Food hit the spot, too. They have a smash burger, which has become all the rage, but their take is very good. Tender and cheesy with great flavor. One of the best around. We upgraded the side fries to truffle parmesan fries, and those were delicious as well. On the flip side, the wagyu pigs in the blanket, which looked so fun and delightful, were just ok. They came wrapped in an everything bun, but there just wasn't much flavor. That was the one miss in an otherwise top notch experience. I still highly recommend them. For a really special occasion slash expensive meal, Rose's Luxury is still the best bet around here, but if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, Lobby Bar might be your best choice for a solid meal in the Capitol Hill/Eastern Market area. read more

This is one of the best kept spots in DC. The food is scrumptious and creative, the ambiance is so quaint and warm, and the service is impeccable. If you want a meal with flavor, spark, and good drinks to go with it, Lobby Bar is the place to go! Every time I go is so special!! read more

My friend surprised me with a reservation here for the...Girl dinner! I had no idea what to expect, but the food exceeded all expectations! The girl dinner platter comes with truffle fries, homemade chicken nuggets, Caesar salad, and two martinis. We also opted for the caviar topping. The star of the show would definitely be the homemade chicken nuggets. They were so juicy and flavorful. The platter was definitely large enough for the two of us, and some leftovers. But the space feels like being in someone's den. I really enjoy the whole experience. Would definitely come here again! read more

Over a year later, I finally returned for food this time and left impressed. Meeting a friend for lunch, we both ordered the Smash Burger. It's packed with flavor and the edges are crispy, which made it even more delicious. For my side, I subbed out fries for their Caesar salad, which was also great. It comes loaded with aged parmesan on top. Overall, it was a great lunch experience. One thing to note is that the prices are high. It's D.C. so that's normal, but if you're from out of town, it may feel like sticker shock. read more

Of course I came for girl dinner. It was a nice, cool evening, so we ate outside. We opted for the full girl dinner with caviar, and it was worth it. We had a lot left over, but that was expected. The drinks were great, and the girl dinner comes with two martinis. I was able to swap mine out since I don't drink martinis, so I had wine. The service was excellent, and we had an overall fantastic time. We stayed for over three hours, so that says it all. A must! read more

Super cute spot! We had reservations for 5:00 p.m. and were surprised to find the bar already packed and most of the tables full. I guess everyone was escaping DC's 104-degree heat. My friend and I ordered from the happy hour menu and shared a few items. We had a couple of Hugo Spritzes, sliders, fries, and wings, and everything was delicious. The service was friendly, and our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was lively, and people kept coming in throughout the evening, which says a lot. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back. read more

I had the most fantastic birthday dinner on Saturday, 8/29! Raul was such an amazing server, he tended to our every need and catered to our giddy party. Our Girl Dinner platters were absolutely phenomenal. The chicken nuggets were the perfect amount of crispy and the caviar was delectable! The fries the perfect amount of crisp and truffle, the caesar tossed with the perfect amount of dressing, and all the parmesan we could dream of to top both!! We can't wait to return to have it again at brunch. I can't thank Raul enough for that hospitality and the bubbly to finish off our dinner. My birthday dinner was perfect. read more

Overall Rating: 2/5 Stars Fell victim to the Instagram hype reel and stopped by Lobby Bar specifically for their viral hot dog, only to find out it doesn't clock in until the 4:00 PM evening shift. Tough start, but we pivoted to brunch--where we quickly learned their social media manager deserves a massive raise, because the kitchen and floor staff are playing an entirely different game. The Breakdown: Steak & Eggs: Billed as "Wagyu," which feels like a wildly generous label for what showed up. Ordered rare, arrived proudly at least medium well. The scrambled eggs were decent, but when the side salad and dressing are unironically the absolute highlight of your steak plate... Mother of Dragons: Marketed with a house pineapple-habanero-lime mix, but delivered approximately zero heat. The "dragon" was apparently just a lonely, decorative micro-pepper chilling on top of an iceberg-sized ice cube that took up 95% of the short tumbler. Pure aesthetics, zero kick. The Mimosa: Fresh juice, sure, but nobody warned us it doubled as a smoothie with all that pulp. Worse, the juice-to-champagne ratio leaned way too heavy on the mixer. The Coffee: Stale, burnt diner energy. Dropped off without a spoon or a backward glance to see if we needed anything else. Service & Vibe: It was a ghost town for a holiday weekend, yet somehow service felt like an uphill marathon. Slow pacing, missed check-ins, and zero attention to detail. When the dining room is that empty, you'd expect the staff to at least notice your steak didn't match the order. Lobby Bar is great at looking photogenic on your feed, but if you're expecting the food and hospitality to match the online theatrics, prepare to be humbled. Save your camera roll and skip the brunch. read more

Super cute inside! I want to come back and try more food. I tried a bite of the steak frites and both the steak and truffle fries were amazing. I also had the spicy rigatoni with chicken. The rigatoni was excellent and had a nice kick but wasn't too hot. This place was packed on a Thursday and I really like their half size booths so cute! read more

My wife took me to Lobby Bar for my first Father's Day. We really enjoyed the concept of an upscale bar. We had the Caesar salad and lobby wing board to start. The Caesar was great and the wings were fantastic. Loved having all the sauces to choose from. For the entree, I had the double smash burger and my wife had the glizzy. My smash burger was banging. The glizzy was good but my wife said she could taste the difference between the glizzy and an average hot dog. I definitely did. We had a great host and enjoyed our experience. Look forward to going back. read more

Lobby Bar is a delightful addition to the Eastern Market district in DC. With so many options to choose from it's hard to stand out when it comes to food and cocktails but Lobby Bar definitely does. They do something in which I love and that's making simple food even better. Traditional items like Pigs in a blanket are elevated using wagyu hotdogs, homemade chicken nuggets are elevated with caviar, and cauliflower is taken to the next level with a delicious buffalo/truffle sauce. The restaurant is small but packed with personality. It's sleek, cozy and definitely gives you a welcoming feeling. The staff is nice, but was very busy during my visit. There were only two people working the front of the house, and the restaurant was busy so interactions with the staff were quick but still friendly. I don't care what you read on other reviews but the cocktail program is second to none. Absolutely amazing. I tried a few different ones and they all nailed it. The Gracias Poncho might be my new favorite drink in DC. Well worth the trip, truly awesome spot. You will definitely find me here again. read more

Lobby bar is definitely in my new top five when it comes to happy hour. She's not too far from capital hill so you can feel the influence, but not too much where she's stuffy. After all, how can you be when you advertise girl dinner to the mainstream public. Although, they've changed their orignal girl dinner menu...sigh... she's still a great place for a stiff cocktail and good vibes. The dirty Cesar: check, the lean chicken nuggets: check, the Parmesan fires: triple check! FYI: The bar feels up fast so make a resy. read more

Cocktails and service were the star of the show for me. The "pine and dandy" was EXCELLENT and I even got to meet Joe who created the cocktail for the menu. Great service! Chill but lively. You can have a conversation without shouting. The menu is like elevated sports bar with bar classics and seafood. Cesar salad and fries were good - I'd get those again. But the nuggets were a bit dry. Would not get again. My friends did enjoy their burger and the pasta so maybe that'll be my next order! read more

The best dirty martini I've had in a while! The oysters could have been shucked better, there were a fair amount of shell shards throughout, but otherwise the food was good and the service was super quick and attentive. It is however incredibly loud, every surface is hard and reflecting sound so it can be difficult to hear. read more

Overall fun bar, I think it's cozy and has fun food to eat while you have a drink. I think it's a good spot to hang with friends or go on a chill date night. My boyfriend and I had a reservation but got there a bit early, was still seated and it wasn't too busy at the time (5pm on a Saturday!). Service was good and quick too. We got the wagyu glizzy, definitely gimmicky but we knew that, it was still fun! The steak frites were okay, but I actually really loved the spicy rigatoni! Like elevated American comfort food. Tucked in the heart of Capitol Hill, right across from the historic Eastern Market, Lobby Bar is a neighborhood gem. It strikes a balance of elevated yet inviting. The space is thoughtfully designed, with bar seating, intimate booths, a large communal table, and a patio. We liked the light shrimp cocktail to start. For mains, the steak frites was a standout. The double smash burger was also delicious, a great choice for anyone looking for something heartier. To finish, the cookie skillet was warm, gooey, and comforting. Came here for lunch today. It was my first time popping in here and I am happy. I tried something new. I got a cute window seat when you first come inside so you could people watch as you eat. I started with a tequila drink, and a bump of caviar, deviled eggs with crab meat. I took the bump of caviar and put it on top of the deviled egg and it was perfect. We ordered Brussels sprouts to share which were sweet flavorful and good. We followed up with a Caesar salad which came with so much shaved Parmesan, but it was really good and a slab of salmon medium well I am not a salmon skin girly, but the skin was so crispy and flavorful. Then we ordered the wings which came with three sauces and blue cheese or ranch. I definitely will come back and try some of the other amazing items they have on their menu. read more

I already feel a bit belated with this review because I came this summer for the Adult Happy Meal and IT. WAS. AWESOME! I arrived on a Friday evening and the place was packed. Like line out the door energy. Thankfully, I had snagged a reservation in advance and was seated right away in one of the cozy front booths. (At the time, they offered happy hour at any seat but not sure if that's still the case.) The Happy Meal itself? Legendary. For $31 during happy hour (3-6 PM), you got your choice of a burger, chicken sandwich, or the infamous McLobby nuggets, fries, and a glass of Veuve Clicquot. Yes, Veuve! Practically everyone around me had one as it was clearly the move. The vibe was buzzy but cozy, and I instantly knew I'd stumbled onto a Capitol Hill gem. I've only been once for the Happy Meal, but I can't wait to return for the girl dinner and hopefully catch the Happy Meal if it returns. (Ugh I love a gimmick or theme!) This place seems to be worth the hype and is easily becoming a staple in the neighborhood. read more

I had really looked forward to finally trying Lobby Bar! From the moment I read a press release about it's opening it was on my radar as a place nearby to try. The menu looked fun, trendy and when I would walk by felt like it had high potential to be a go-to neighborhood spot. Unfortunately, it missed the mark in a number of areas. My first few moments walking in were incredible, more so because the hostess and another waitress with the most amazing energy greeted me while I was waiting for a friend. However, once seated things really went downhill from there. The waitress that seemed so lovely was not the waitress we ended up with. Oddly enough, we also thought it was kind of strange that there was a different waiter or waitress assigned for the only three tables that are outside. During our two hours there, we would see the waitress and waiter for the two other tables coming in an out non-stop, checking in on their tables. Out waitress would only come out AFTER we had to go in to ask for plates or to-go boxes. Yes, it was hot and she was serving people inside as well. But she would literally only check-in to ask us if we needed anything only after bringing out what we had to go in to ask for. She was also not helpful at all with ordering. I initially wanted to try the nuggets with caviar. So I decided to order that, some truffle fries and two dirty martinis. After I placed the order, I noticed that they actually had an $80 girl dinner special that literally was almost the same order except that it came with caesar salad as well, but she didn't even make mention or make the suggestion. So once I noticed it, I went back in and made the order. She then asked if I still wanted the additional order of nuggets. It was my understanding that the platter would have the same amount as the side (6 nuggets) so I kept the additional order in, only to find out there were at least a dozen nuggets on that platter. I mean there was so much food that I wish she had just given us a heads up, or perhaps made suggestions. Additionally, the batter for the chicken nuggets was extremely salty. They were so salty they were hard to enjoy. Since I had to take so many home, I actually took the breading off of them later so that I could enjoy them more. I would also make note that the $27 add on for caviar is more so for the visual. Some of the nuggets literally had 3-5 little eggs on top. The cocktails were good though! I think if it was just the food, I probably would have give this place 3 stars. But the poor service and $200 bill for bar food you could get anywhere else really made it a lackluster experience. We would have actually stayed longer and ordered another round , but we were so turned off that we packed it up and walked down to Duck and Peach where we able to grab another drink and enjoy good service. Overall, I love the fun trends that they incorporate onto their menu but just be mindful of the hype. If service improves though, I might return. read more

We made our reservation at Lobby Bar with one mission: to try the legendary "adult happy meal" ... only to find out it's no longer on the menu . RIP to that dream. But silver lining -- the food we did order was chef's kiss. We kicked things off with wings and oysters (surf and turf, baby). Then came the main event: chicken nuggets topped with caviar (childhood fave, but make it $$$ ), a crisp Caesar salad , a juicy smash burger , and truffle Parmesan fries . Basic American classics, but done really well. Drinks? Started happy hour with a Hugo Spritz , then switched to the Gracias Poncho -- super refreshing. Wish the cocktails were a tad bigger for the price though . Our server was sweet, but... a little quirky. He never made eye contact with the one guy at our table, just addressed the three women . Not rude, just... interesting. Heads up: the space is teeny-tiny and gets packed, so snag a reservation . We also eyed the "girl dinner," but it comes with a dirty martini (hard pass ) and you can't sub the drink for something else. Huge bummer -- hopefully they rethink that. Overall: come for elevated comfort food, stay for the good vibes, and be prepared to squeeze in next to your neighbors . read more

It absolutely pains me to have to give this restaurant 2 stars - but it's only fair that the number of stars accurately reflects the overall/entire experience that we had at Lobby Bar's Happy Hour. My reservation was for 4:45PM, but unfortunately because of a lane closure on my way to the restaurant - I arrived at 4:55PM. Within the 15 min grace period given to those with reservations. This 15 "hold" on the table is common practice in the DMV - and the confirmation email from Resy states that tables will be held for 15 minutes. When I checked in with the host, I was told that because I was late my table had been given to another group, and I would no longer be able to have HH, as HH is only for guests seated at the bar and in a particular section of the restaurant. And I was seated at a table (opposite the host stand & the entrance) and given the regular menu. So imagine my surprise when I see at least three other guests checked in after me given a HH menu and seated in all the sections of the restaurant (not just the HH seating that I had originally been told). I asked the host for a HH menu because I saw that there were inconsistencies. Immediately the host - Nicole, got extremely short with me, you would have thought that I was hurling abusive superlatives at her the way her demeanour COMPLETELY changed & she "threatened" me with getting the Manger. Of course I welcomed this idea, because she clearly at this stage was being unprofessional and also, I knew I was not asking for anything more than what other patrons had received. The Manager was extremely professional, allowed me to explain the situation & she saw that I was simply asking for the HH menu - and we were given the menu to order from. This clearly VISIBLY annoyed the host (Nicole), and she promptly told her manager she was going to walk out... (yes you read that right - she told her manager she was going to walk out of her shift because we were given the HH menu), and our request was accommodated for what was her mistake. Her Manger asked her to step outside and they had a conversation- I have no clue what was said or not said, but afterwards she came back in, resumed work... BUT continued giving me dirty looks throughout my entire meal. As I mentioned before - our table was directly opposite the host stand and entrance. At the end of the meal, we were asked if we would like to have dessert, we agreed, and lo and behold, WHO obliged to bring the dessert menu to our table but the host - Nicole!!! At this point, over an hour had passed by, but she still came to our table with the menus and a terrible demeanour; for me, nothing short of shockingly rude and passive aggressive. One of the comments she made was, "I know you don't want to talk to me, but here's the dessert menu and I hope your day gets better because clearly it's been terrible!". This was said VERY sarcastically and felt more like a threat than customer service/etiquette. After this encounter/exchange, my friend and I both decided that it was getting progressively uncomfortable; and we decided to ask for the bill instead. Management was extremely professional and offered us a complimentary dessert - which was kind, but at this point we were ready to leave. It's a shame, because overall it was a tasty meal, but after such a hostile and unpleasant interaction this complete ruined our experience. No one should have to be treated like that just for trying to dine out. This kind of unprofessionalism reflects very poorly on the restaurant as a whole. If management cares about their customers, they seriously need to evaluate who they're trusting to be the face of their establishment. As we were leaving Nicole also offered to give us her last name for this review... Yes, her snarky attitude took it that far! Uncomfortable to say the least... Unprofessional to the maximum!!! read more

Loved the atmosphere, dimly lit not too loud but loud enough so no one else can hear your conversation. Mia was super helpful with providing her recommendations. For an appetizer, I ordered the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were huge but it wasn't really a fan of the cocktail sauce. The caviar nuggets were AMAZING. L is for the way you look at me, O is for the only one I see....I mean we can write a song about this new hot spot on Capitol Hill because it is truly love at first site. Lobby Bar curates a space that provides top notch mixologist level drinks without being pretentious and giving you local homey bar vibes. Not many can do that in DC. Started with the Veuve because I needed to sip it out of that neat glass they provide, followed by the Plenty of Fish in the Sea martini that comes with a bump of caviar. Worth the hype! I dined here on a Saturday evening last month. I made the reservation (for a group of 6) for 7:30pm 10 days prior. The majority of the group arrived on time (1 person was early) but we weren't seated for another 20 minutes. There isn't a large lobby area so a couple of us sat in chairs at a smaller table near the door but the hostesses did update us a few times. Once seated our sever (Will, I believe but I know his name started with a W and he was a pleasureee!) got our drinks ordered and gave good recommendations. We ordered a few appetizers across the table as well. To our surprise we were given a free appetizer (tartare) due to our wait! We truly appreciated the gesture. The tartare was new to some of us and it was pretty tasty but the chips were certainly the highlight. Because I wanted to try a lot, I did a split check. We had the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket, Caesar salad, truffle Parmesan fries, and the McLobby nuggets. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! The pigs in a blanket were light and cooked well. The Caesar was dressed and cheesed perfectly. The fries amazing. And the nuggets were so bomb, they were spot on (but better) than that of their dupe...which is my favorite chicken nugget (even at my big age). I also tried a bit of someone else's rigatoni and it was delicious (came be ordered w/ or w/o protein). Anddd the Brussels were good. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu or their cocktails. The strawberry fields was *chef's kiss*...I'll be back! read more

I visited Lobby Bar with a friend to try the Girl Dinner. My friend and I were excited to visit after seeing on social media. Lobby Bar is located in a great location, and I enjoyed the vibes of the bar. I was not very impressed with the Girl Dinner. In my opinion the chicken nuggets were just not great. I felt that placing caviar on top of such mediocre chicken nuggets was simply a waste of caviar. I did enjoy the fries that came with the dinner. The nuggets were a large portion size; I guess that could be considered a positive. Overall the girl dinner just seemed too gimmicky and didn't live up to the hype. We ordered a few cocktails which I enjoyed. It was a busy night, but the service was attentive enough for our needs. I really wanted to love this place. I took myself here for an experience I saw on TikTok or Instagram. I can't really remember but this is when they had the girl dinner and veuve clicquot adult happy meal. I came in for their happy hour. I sat immediately at the bar. It was packed, but I was served right away. I got my champagne, french fries, and the burger. Now, please understand it was more about the experience than the burger and the french fries. My french fries were a bit salty, but the burger was cool, not the most amazing burger I've ever had but keep that in mind. I did not order the caviar, but once I left I immediately knew I should have. I loved this concept so much. I felt like an adult big kid and it made my day. I ordered another drink on the menu, it had St. Germain in, can't remember the name, but it wasn't really that great. Started a few conversations at the bar and everybody was nice. We all chatted about the adult Happy meal because everybody was there for it, and it was cute and satisfying. It was crowded so it felt like it was a small area, but I think if you get there at a decent time during the day, parking isn't terrible otherwise you'll be circling the block a few times. I told myself I would go back for the girl dinner haven't made it back yet, but it was a great experience. Highly recommend read more
