Restaurant is a nice ambiance and Evon was the best server we have had dining out in a while who didn't mind us lingering longer to catch up with our friends. Our friends had been for dinner and loved their food, so we came back to try brunch. The jumbo lump crab gratin in particular stood out - perfectly grilled bread and creamy, decadent crab spread. We're able to share it for four people. The avocado crab toast was also good. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits. The fennel seed and Aleppo oil calamari sauce was so yummy. The apple and celery salad with cheddar, dates, pistachio and hot honey vinaigrette came together so well and was really refreshing. Good Bloody Mary. Everything we tried was on point. After a day at the Trinidad Embassy, we wanted a place to relax, enjoy some food, and stroll in the nice weather. Cordelia was a local suggestion right in the center of the action. Six locals who take food seriously and fellowship even more so. Having a well known hospitality insider in our group set the tone early when the restaurant manager recognized him immediately. We pretty much ordered most of the appetizers from the brunch menu. Crudo, calamari, cinnamon buns, two types of coal roasted oysters, oysters on the half shell, and a smoked trout caviar bump. Most were so good, we ran it back for seconds. The coal roasted oysters stood out most. We had a slight pause before ordering entrees because we knew someone at the bar, and ended up talking and including those around them. The atmosphere was so inviting that we all shared food and drink recommendations and ordered another round. The sangria was especially good. When dinner arrived it looked so good we had to try each other's dishes. Lamb chops, burger, grilled branzino, steak frites, and linguini frutti di mare. The branzino was one of the best I have ever tried, cooked with a crust on the outside that felt like a flavor party on the first bite. The service and atmosphere left us ready for the next phase. A short walk to bread pudding and ice cream at a nearby spot. Union Market is a vibe and a community experience and Cordelia is right in the heart of the action. The dining room is nicely appointed with spacious tables and booths that line the windows facing Morse street. The staff is attentive without hovering to much. We ordered really good apps and food. From Tuesday-Friday 4pm-6pm and Tuesday-Sunday 9pm-Close (two waves of Happy Hour, depending on the day), you can enjoy 50% off oysters & seafood towers!! If you love seafood, you'll know that seafood towers aren't exactly cheap! Especially ones that include crab and/or lobster! I ordered the Gilded Sea (normally $175, or $87.50 during Happy Hour), and the tower is massive! You get 24 oysters, 12 jumbo shrimp, chilled lobster, and jumbo lump crab dijonnaise. You can easily share this with one, two, or three other people. Or if you're a big back like me, skip all meals that day and eat this! I recommend eating the shrimp first, as they get soggy the longer they sit. But still tasty! The oysters were great and u enjoyed thag they offered varsity of all the oysters you see on the menu. The crab cocktail was crackers was immaculate, while the chilled lobster was an incredible way to end the meal. I sat at the bar too and the service was great! I had on jeans, rider boots and a sweater. Nothing too special. We started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Gratin, which was flavorful and enjoyable overall, though the grilled sourdough lived up to its name and came out BURNT. We requested another basket and that solved the issue, for me. Apparently, my friend did not mind. He ate it. Maybe it paired well with the dip.. I would not know. Flavor-wise, the food delivers, though there were a few surprises. I ordered the Black Sea Bass, which tasted smoked. It wasn't even advertised as blackened on the menu. That doesn't take away from the flavor. I also had a very meaty piece so I had plenty to take home. As the waiter notably mentioned, it comes with no sides so we added the Gumbo Z'Herbes, which I absolutely loved. The tuna belly bacon was a standout for me. My friend ordered the Angry Lobster Spaghettini and mentioned how good and filling it was. I was mainly focused the presentation, which was immaculate. I did not taste. We finished our dinner with dessert similar to an apple turnover served with ice cream. I enjoyed it, though my date wasn't particularly wowed. The cocktails were delicious and part of a seasonal menu, and we had a couple each. They were strong enough that we leaned into the experience and ordered more. One quirky detail that stuck with me was going through four straws because they kept cracking. Not something to be upset about, but memorable nonetheless, especially with a few unused cracked straws lingering on the table. Overall, I'd give Cordelia Fish Bar four stars. While the food and drinks landed in the "average" category for me, the atmosphere, decor, and overall experience pushed it above average. I also appreciated that two different managers stopped by to check on us, which added a thoughtful touch to the evening. One final note... since it's located in Union Market, parking can be a bit of a scavenger hunt depending on timing. Our favorite was the miso butter (loved the shallots), followed by the nduja pork butter (sweet and savory), and then the cajun style (pretty standard). Again, all of them were very greasy, but they were flavorful with plenty of spice and cheese. We agreed we wouldn't pay that much for these oysters in the future. ANGRY LOBSTER SPAGHETTINI - 36 The portion size surprised us. There was plenty of lobster meat, which was plump and juicy. The pasta was covered with smoky pomodoro and calabrian chili powder, delivering an an explosive flavor in every bite. Their weekday oyster happy hour is from 4-6pm (oysters and shellfish towers are half off) which is super nice if you like oysters (alas I do not). I went with one friend and we were pretty hungry; we got two large plates, one small plate, and one shrimp cocktail (and my friend ordered 6 oysters during happy hour). The small plate we got was the calamari which was VERY delicious. Perfectly chewy not rubbery overcooked. The two large plates we got were the seafood chowder and the lobster spaghettini. The seafood chowder was very good, very hearty and so much good seafood! It was maybe a touch salty, but I'd get it again. The seating looks comfortable and it is. It's cozy but also sophisticated. We sat in a booth near the windows and the sunlight came in nicely. Our server was Amy. For this being my first time going, she really made a great impression on me and my friends. She was patient and had a lot of personality. Her customer service is on point. Shoutout to Amy. We pretty much did that bottomless drinks (minus the Bloody Mary). A couple of the drinks were more ice than liquor (port light & fogcutter). At one point, the ice machine was acting up in the back and when they brought refills of those drinks out, it looked like a double shot in a tall glass. Seemed like a waste of money. But the drinks tasted good. I also got the two tequila cocktails on the menu, they were good as well. Now, onto the food. We started with Cajun oysters and tuna tartare. Both were bomb. The oysters were so flavorful! For the mains, here's what we got: steak and eggs, eggs chesapeake, and prawns & waffles. Everything was good but the prawns could have been better, unfortunately. The Chicken Chermoula is out of this world. It's a harissa spiced chicken thigh placed on this delicious spiced yogurt and is topped with chimichurri. The star of the show is the hospitality. As far as I'm concerned this is Ebon's restaurant. He may have been the server, but he 'served'. I have grown increasing respect and appreciation for quality service. This man knew the menu backward and forward and recited it to us with such zeal. The sunlight in the window seats is magical. This is another restaurant where I wouldn't have minded sitting at the bar. I feel like we got a well balanced selection of plates. With a very palette pleasing grilled French toast. The salad featuring apples and celery was delicious. And I unfortunately I'm not a big crabcake person, but the crab Benedict was all made in house, as Ebon shared, and I appreciate the culinary effort. My understanding is they have a 100% satisfaction policy, where they will replace anything that you don't love. We didn't send anything back! I visited Cordelia on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant has a nice vibe and the staff are very friendly. Our server was great, very attentive and checked on us often throughout our meal. I ordered a mocktail which was very tasty and refreshing. We ordered the cinnamon roll to start which was good. The only disappointment was my food. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I was starving, so when I saw how small the portion was I was extremely frustrated. It was the size of an appetizer, not an entree. My friend ordered it as well and she was always disappointed. There was barely a scoop of grits on the plate. I told the server I was disappointed and all he said was "I'm sorry". For $26, I would expect way more food. My friends ordered the steak and eggs and the eggs Benedict and their plates were full and a great portion. I wish I had ordered something else and unfortunately I left hungry. I am not sure I would visit again. If you do visit, definitely choose another menu item! read more

Came here yesterday for dinner. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It has an industrial chic vibe with a gorgeous wrap-around bar area. My server, Bridget, was friendly and attentive as was the hostess and the lady who brought my food to my table. Happy hour Old Fashioned - small in amount and very sweet. I guess I can't hold the sweetness against the bartender, as people have different preferences for their old fashioned. The quantity left a lot to be desired, though. Potted crab dip- absolutely delicious. Rich and flavorful, with thick chunks of crab. The accompanying toasted sourdough bread was the perfect compliment. Bridgette even brought extra out for me to have with my leftovers. Colada Dreams - mmmm, delicious! Like a Pina Coloda, as you might have guessed. Seabass - At first taste, its light and prepared in a manner that allows its natural flavors to shine. After a few more bites, however, I'm hit with Salt. Too much Salt. Very disappointing. Chocolate Truffle cake- small yet rich and decadent. Adding a bit more icecream would help cut the richness of chocolate. Overall, a good first visit and I highly recommend giving it a try. read more

They have bottomless brunch! The food is little bit expensive but the quality is worth it. It's great on Sunday's because everyone there is watching the football games. You can make it fancy or casual if you want. We got the steak tartare and Hamachi Crudo. The steak tartare is different from Korean tartare. But I love the combination in it with a Smokey flavor and the crudo I loved the sauce it was in plus the pepper really brings it out. I would recommend coming here again. read more

My sister recommended this restaurant in the Union Market area (which is super busy these days but close to home) so it was easy to get here in time for a nice dinner with out of town friends. So I met my sis and some cousins from out of town on a Friday night and was so pleasantly impressed!! The food was OUTSTANDING AND SO WAS THE SERVICE!! The restaurant is lovely inside and very romantic as there were several couples dining in being super cozy. Definitely a date spot. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the crab avocado toast and it was DELICIOUS!!! I didn't leave a crumb on the plate ! All of the cousins and my sister enjoyed their meals and cocktails. Found this place on most of the recommended and best places to eat at Union Market. We were seated promptly by the host and our server, Amy, put as at ease while she patiently oriented us to the menu. The food was amazing! From the Pan Rustico which was warm bread served with butter whipped with anchovy, olive oil and parsley, to the Rhode Island Calamari and the Coal-Roasted Oysters we shared. My main entree hit the spot for me. It was a Jumbo Lump Crab Cake served with corn & tomato chesapeake, a side of perfectly seasoned french fries and old bay aioli. The corn and tomato was sweet and had a slight kick of Old Bay seasoning which complements the fresh and savory crab cake patty. The ambience is relaxed and while the restaurant was starting to fill up with diners, the atmosphere remained spacious and conducive to conversation. read more

I wasn't sure whether we would like Cordelia Fishbar because it's the same ownership as places like Clyde's and Old Ebbitt Grill, and the food doesn't usually overly impress me - however I was quite wrong. The food, service, and space were all lovely, and it was quite an experience. We walked in to a beautiful room that really makes you feel like you're in a nautical world. The service we got was extremely friendly and professional at the same time, and the descriptions detailed and well done. We had great cocktails, including an amazing clarified milk punch, and we had a very solid assortment of oysters. Every appetizer was good, but my favorite was the coal roasted oysters, they were just absolutely spectacular, followed closely by the calamari which was perfectly seasoned and splendid without being fried! The wine list is a bit young, and the fluke that was supposed to be the star of the show was good, but not as good as the appetizers. The desserts were decent as well, but the best part is the Champagne happy hour after 9pm alongside some discounted oysters. If you're looking to save money this is not the place, but if you're looking to eat some good seafood you've found a good place. read more
