The ambiance in Cordelia is wonderful! You feel like you are in a very elevated sea themed restaurant and the bar is large and gorgeous. We shared some crab dip which was extremely generous in portions of crab and very hot and tasty. I had the rockfish and loved how light it was. We also had the lobster pasta which was good. The service was fine, though nothing special even though the restaurant was not very busy. I would definitely come back for the food alone!

It was a nice day so we sat outside and had no trouble getting attention from our server, even though we were the only ones out there. Now the prices for everything are high. That part I did not like. But the seafood pasta was really good. I would come back and try more things

The Linguine frutti di mare was absolutely delicious! Drinks were great! My friend had an issue with their order and they were able to correct it right away without any fuss ! So the floor manager is great, our server was amazing and the ambience is really spacious and nice ! I love a delicious Crudo and it was so well seasoned with just the right amount of citrus flavors coming through ! The oysters were actually super delicious as well, loved that it was cooked and seasoned well! I think this is a great restaurant to return to, highly recommended!

Walking back into this restaurant feels a little like returning to someone you once cared for, familiar in all the right ways, comforting in the ways you hoped it would be, and quietly asking why didn't you come back sooner. Loyalty isn't built overnight, and neither is trust but this spot has a way of reminding you why you fell for it in the first place. The staff greets you with the kind of recognition that feels personal, the food arrives like a promise they intend to keep, and the atmosphere settles around you like a soft exhale. I reviewed this place after one visit and I'm now starting to believe that second chances are needed before I review. Like any relationship worth keeping, I gave it a second chance on Saturday, the last day in February. Lawd have mercy! I'm glad I did. The food is consistent, the top notch service hasn't changed, and the whole experience feels like a place that's genuinely trying, really trying, to be the it spot in Union Market. Love isn't about perfection; it's about showing up for each other, again and again. It's about Choosing! This restaurant has earned my loyalty not by being flawless, but by being committed. And in return, I find myself committed too. I'll be coming back with an open heart, hungry and an empty stomach, ready for whatever the next chapter tastes like. Yells, Cordelia Fishbar, love is a choice and I choose you! I am not sure if they redid the menu but I hope they never get rid of the Lobster dish, the crab cake or the coal roasted oysters! My goodness! Let's get into it! Coal Roasted Oysters - Yassssssssssssssssssssss! Great just like the first time. Honestly these might be my favorite in the DMV! Lump Crab Cake - Delicious and those fries!!!!! OMG! Lobster Spaghettini - Presentation Perfect! Flavors Perfect! So freaking good! The best! This is going to have to be a twice monthly spot to eat at. Ok....I'm in love! Literally!

Dropped in for a late hours night cap with friends. There was a live musician playing this evening and a good assortment of patrons at the bar and nearby hightop seating. The drinks were tasty and the small bites we got were interesting. My friend really liked the cajun oysters and miso butter oysters.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It's located in Union Market but it wasn't too packed like other restaurants in that area that I've been to. Our waitress was amazing, friendly and answered our many questions. I loved the inside of the restaurant and they have outdoor seating as well. You have to try the crab dip. It was the best I've ever had. Jumbo lump crab meat mixed with cheese and it was life changing. After having that I opted for the crab cake which didn't disappoint either. For dessert, I have the s'mores bread pudding- another win. I will absolutely be back. Everything was amazing!

I had a wonderful experience at Cordelia for brunch. It is a costal inspired seafood restaurant that focuses on sustainable practices and charcoal cooking. The brunch features a bottomless drink option for $33 that comes with mimosas and a few rum cocktail options. I really enjoyed all three cocktails I tried but would highly recommend 3 dots and a dash. I also had the steak and eggs and the cinnamon roll and both were delicious and filling. Our server Ebon was also fantastic. Very attentive and inviting and he did a great job of explaining the menu options.

    Shrimp with barely any grits

I visited Cordelia on a Sunday for brunch. The restaurant has a nice vibe and the staff are very friendly. Our server was great, very attentive and checked on us often throughout our meal. I ordered a mocktail which was very tasty and refreshing. We ordered the cinnamon roll to start which was good. The only disappointment was my food. I ordered the shrimp and grits. I was starving, so when I saw how small the portion was I was extremely frustrated. It was the size of an appetizer, not an entree. My friend ordered it as well and she was always disappointed. There was barely a scoop of grits on the plate. I told the server I was disappointed and all he said was "I'm sorry". For $26, I would expect way more food. My friends ordered the steak and eggs and the eggs Benedict and their plates were full and a great portion. I wish I had ordered something else and unfortunately I left hungry. I am not sure I would visit again. If you do visit, definitely choose another menu item!

We had a really mixed experience at Cordelia, but ultimately the food won out. The service was a little rough during our visit. Food took quite a long time to come out, and there were stretches where no server checked on us. Drinks also took longer than expected, which made the pacing feel off overall. That said--the food was genuinely delicious. The prawns in the Bloody Mary were a standout highlight: perfectly cooked with a great char on them. Honestly, I could eat an entire entrée of just those prawns. The burger was exactly what you want it to be--simple, classic, and really well executed. The prawns and waffles were also excellent, with the prawns lightly fried to the perfect balance of crispy and tender. We'll definitely be back to try dinner, because the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. Hoping the service issues were just a fluke, because this place has a lot going for it.

I always have a great time at Cordelia. I've been a few times now, and whether I'm dining with friends to celebrate a birthday or enjoying a solo meal, the experience has consistently been excellent. The ambiance is welcoming, the servers are attentive, and service is always timely. The food is outstanding--straightforward ingredients with flavors that are layered and thoughtful without being overwhelming. The chargrilled calamari is a must-have for me every single visit. On my most recent stop, I came in for a solo dinner while getting some work done on my laptop. My server, Cristóbal, was fantastic. I ordered the Wester Ross Scottish salmon, served with pearl barley, carrots, mushrooms, and a rich black garlic sauce beautifully smeared on the plate. I paired it with a generous pour of the house Riesling. For dessert, I went with the apple galette and black charcoal vanilla ice cream--delicious. Everything from start to finish was on point, and I'll absolutely be back.

Cordelia Fish Bar is the kind of restaurant you choose with intention. The price point leans a bit high, but it's reasonable if you're planning for a special occasion. We went for a birthday celebration date. The atmosphere feels like "grown and sexy" night out, but make it your first stop for dinner and then have plans after. Also nice for date night. The decor and overall vibe elevate the experience beyond a casual seafood spot and make it feel like an evening event rather than just a meal... but you don't need to get dressed. I had on jeans, rider boots and a sweater. Nothing too special. We started with the Jumbo Lump Crab Gratin, which was flavorful and enjoyable overall, though the grilled sourdough lived up to its name and came out BURNT. We requested another basket and that solved the issue, for me. Apparently, my friend did not mind. He ate it. Maybe it paired well with the dip.. I would not know. Flavor-wise, the food delivers, though there were a few surprises. I ordered the Black Sea Bass, which tasted smoked. It wasn't even advertised as blackened on the menu. That doesn't take away from the flavor. I also had a very meaty piece so I had plenty to take home. As the waiter notably mentioned, it comes with no sides so we added the Gumbo Z'Herbes, which I absolutely loved. The tuna belly bacon was a standout for me. My friend ordered the Angry Lobster Spaghettini and mentioned how good and filling it was. I was mainly focused the presentation, which was immaculate. I did not taste. We finished our dinner with dessert similar to an apple turnover served with ice cream. I enjoyed it, though my date wasn't particularly wowed. The cocktails were delicious and part of a seasonal menu, and we had a couple each. They were strong enough that we leaned into the experience and ordered more. One quirky detail that stuck with me was going through four straws because they kept cracking. Not something to be upset about, but memorable nonetheless, especially with a few unused cracked straws lingering on the table. Overall, I'd give Cordelia Fish Bar four stars. While the food and drinks landed in the "average" category for me, the atmosphere, decor, and overall experience pushed it above average. I also appreciated that two different managers stopped by to check on us, which added a thoughtful touch to the evening. One final note... since it's located in Union Market, parking can be a bit of a scavenger hunt depending on timing. We visited on a December Saturday night a couple of weeks before Christmas, so it was relatively calm. It's something to keep in mind when planning your visit.

Cordelia Fishbar was my birthday dinner destination, and honestly? It set the bar high. I went with my good friend, and we made it our mission to eat everything we could get our hands on -- and not a single dish missed. From the moment the food started hitting the table, it was clear this place understands flavor, texture, and balance. Crispy, golden bites with perfect crunch, rich sauces that begged to be dragged with bread, beautifully cooked seafood, and plates that felt indulgent without being heavy. Every dish felt intentional -- bold but refined. What really stood out was how shareable everything felt. This is the kind of restaurant where you order "one more thing" because curiosity wins every time. It's celebratory food -- ideal for birthdays, date nights, or any night you want to feel like you're treating yourself. The atmosphere struck that sweet spot between stylish and relaxed, and the service made us feel welcome without rushing the experience. We laughed, tasted, shared, and lingered -- exactly how a birthday dinner should go. Cordelia Fishbar delivered an unforgettable night, and I'd happily come back to work my way through the menu again. Highly recommend for seafood lovers and anyone looking for a memorable DC dining experience.

The ambiance? A whole vibe--laid back, aesthetically pleasing, the kind of place where you feel fancy but not too fancy to still use your fingers for the prawns. We went during Restaurant Week and sat in the bar area, where the service was... let's just say, on island time. You order at the bar, find a seat at a communal table, and then hope your meal shows up before your phone battery dies. But hey, I'm giving grace because Restaurant Week is like that. However, Al is the guy to see!!! He's good and attentive!! Food Highlights: Day Boat Rhode Island Calamari - Perfectly grilled with a nice char and smoky flavor. If textures make you feel a type of way, maybe sit this one out. Otherwise, 10/10. New Zealand Cockle - That watercress broth? A moment. The gigabyte beans? A solid supporting cast. Dip the bread in it, thank me later. Whole Black Sea Bass - Don't ask questions, just GET IT. Grilled to perfection, juicy, flavorful--chef's kiss. Great Tiger Prawns - Huge, succulent, cooked just right. If shrimp hit the gym and leveled up, this would be them. The Sauces - Black garlic, brown butter, and chermoula... like a well-dressed trio at brunch, all bringing something special to the table. Fire Roasted Potatoes - Hearty, flavorful, and makes you feel like you made a responsible side choice. Maitake Mushrooms - Not bad, just not that girl. Couldn't tell you why, but something about them didn't hit the same. Overall, I'd come back--but hopefully, the food gets to me before my future kids do.
