Delicious lamb lollipops@ Perch SW Rooftop Lounge!
    Spencer H.

I initially visited Perch (Inside the Cambria Hotel), for a friend's birthday celebration. I couldn't wait to check it out because it's only 10 minutes away from my crib. Unfortunately it was a rainy evening, so the festivities had to be moved inside to the ground level RowHouse restaurant. While there, I took the elevator up to the top floor to check out Perch and I instantly knew, "I'll Be Back" lol!! This may be the largest rooftop lounge, aside from the Watergate, in the city. Located a stones throw away from Nat's Park, Perch gives you great scenic and water views. The food is OUTSTANDING! The lamb chops matches any high end restaurant in the DMV. The lump crab cake sliders and the grilled octopus were just as delicious. A cool rooftop is my thing but this one definitely stands out from the rest!

Came here for a private event the venue is very nice . The bartenders were very friendly but my one shot of don julio resposado was $26 ..... parking is $20 if you valet other than that you have to find parking which I don't know how easy that is in DC. The food was good it was the party's food but they catered it I liked it. I didn't actually order anything.

I didn't get to try the food but the ambiance and views are spectacular! Perfect place to just go and chill and enjoy some good company.

What a great brunch. My friends and I came her for their bottomless brunch, it was a bit pricey but that's DC average now. We all got bottom less mimosas with their buffet and it was so filling. Their shrimp and grits were so yummy. I appreciate an intimate buffet style set up. The restaurant is on a roof top right by the soccer field and off of the highway. Our waiter was attentive and kept our drinks flowing. The chef even came out and we gave her rave kudos. We all left full and lovely due to the DJ who was having a set the day we went.

I can honestly say I had no complaints about the food. My 2nd time here and the food is tasty. The drinks are also tasty but a little overpriced. The band that played (Suttle) definitely had us dancing all night! Will definitely be going back!

It's a buffet so the food varies.

The restaurant's location inside the Cambria Hotel is convenient, especially for sports fans, as it is only a short walk away from Nationals Park and Audi Field. Being able to enjoy a delicious brunch and then easily attend a game or event is definitely a plus. The brunch was buffet style, and I must say, I am not usually a fan of buffets, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The brunch offered bottomless mimosas, so it's best to arrive early to make the most of the experience and fully enjoy the unlimited mimosas. My favorite dish was the shrimp and grits.

I want to let you know that the three stars are because it's a black-owned business. This place is only a couple of weeks/a-month-old, so I'm being pretty generous with these three stars. If this weren't a black-owned business, they would have received two stars. Pros- The rooftop- the views are spectacular, which can help this place. I often found myself drifting off while sitting My waiter/ main host- Maurice, was my waiter, and unfortunately, I can't remember my male host, but they were wonderful and always ready to assist. My drink- I had a Boxcar with a sugar rim, and it was fantastic. My friends had Mimosas and Bellini's, and they weren't impressed at all. My drink was sweet with just the amount of strength to it. Con's- Service- we came through brunch, and our orders seem to take a long time. Food- I pretty much eat Avocado toast everywhere and was genuinely disappointed with this restaurant's choice and presentation. For 15 dollars, I was given a piece of toast smeared with Avocado with four roasted tomatoes and an egg. The price is similar to other places, but I usually receive a 3/4 to a whole Avocado sliced on bread. Also, I tasted my friend's Shrimp and Grits, and it tasted more like couscous or polenta and not grits, and she was highly disappointed. It was an unfortunate experience. Environment- We were outside on a roof on a 90 degree+ day. I was saddened not to see standard items that are at other restaurants/bars. There were no fans/cooling misters or umbrellas for hot days. In conclusion, this place has all of the makings of a great restaurant/bar. They need to beef up the food, service times, items to keep you comfortable, warm, and cold.

I came to perch for an event that was hosted and posted on Eventbrite. This is my first time here, and though I had an overall good experience, no way will I ever pay six dollars for water again. The cocktails are semi-reasonably priced. And also, there was a rude guy, whom the security says was a promoter that said his table was reserved. if there is a reservation of a table, there's usually a sign. There was no sign. There was only this man yelling at the top of his lungs on top of a rooftop, very intoxicated. This situation could have gotten ugly, however, God is within me, and I just simply walked away..

We went to the Perch on a Thursday night to have drinks with a view and those boxes were checked! I got the margarita and we had a mini photo shoot with the view while we waited for our drinks. But that was the thing, we waaaited for our drinks. It took 30+ minutes for our drinks in a rather empty restaurant. However we chalked it up to the pandemic and capacity changes (it seemed like the hostess was also working as a server since she brought our drinks and sat us). The drinks were decent, as was the food! We ordered four things including the crab dip, sliders, and tacos. After sampling everything, we noticed the food sort of resembled Super Bowl finger food options. I probably wouldn't go again but did appreciate the views. Across the way, closer to the stadium, there is nice courtyard area with other restaurants that I'd visit again!

I was very hesitant about checking out this establishment because of the reviews & because it was our father's day plans! But my husband & children love a good rooftop and brunch combo! I made reservations for when they first opened and that was a good idea. We arrived right after a big party with one little child. I make this know because the host mentioned that he just gave his last highchair away (we have a two year old). We walked through the restaurant to our outside table and I didn't see any other children. Ok, so just ONE highchair lol. However after a few minutes they brought one out. Anywho, babaaaaaaaaaaeeeee! The grits, TOP TIER! I ordered the Shrimp & grits with smoked turkey and they are so darn good! Creamy, flavorful, and smooth! Get them! They didn't have a kids menu, so my littles ordered waffles with fruit, bacon & eggs and my husband ordered an omelet. We all enjoyed our food and the views. Parking can be tricky, they offer valet through the hotel.

Visited 7-25-22 for a bachelorette brunch and I love love love this rooftop restaurant. The shrimp and grits with the sauce was scrumptious, I mean seriously mouth watering. The buffet offered fried whiting, fried chicken, waffles, eggs, sausage, fruits, pastries etc and g group was pleased with their meals. Music: The DJ was good, playing some music that people in their 20 -40's would appreciate ( early 2000's hits and current stuff like drake 2022). Everyone was dancing in their chairs. Me and the bride even ended up doing the Tamia line dance on a small dance floor area they have inside. Rooftop: Initially we sat outside but the metal table and chairs were too hot for us to sit on. There are couches with cushions in a large section but a large group was sitting there. The rooftop wraps around one side of the building and is very spacious with views of the capital from afar and a bridge/ water. It seats at least 35 ppl and seems to have standing room for about 75 ppl. Unfortunately you can't do anything about the construction that was going on in late June but clearly that's not gonna be going on you're around so I will come back for the views and grits lol. Improvement suggestions: More covered seating outdoors or a pergola to make some shade.

Work in progress for sure + views are beautiful + the staff and management all were very nice and you could tell they wanted to make it work. Maybe just give em a month or two to sort out the issues before trying it out - doesn't seem to have a direct phone, or at least no one was picking up the 5x times we tried - we just ordered drinks, took about 30 min in a relatively empty bar. Ordered 2 cocktails and got a cocktail and glass of wine brought to the table. The wine glass was covered in old lipstick on half the rim - everyone seemed very scattered which led to the poor service and customer experience

I came to Perch for a jazz event. I decided to have some food and ordered the lamb chops. These were the BEST lamb chops I've ever had. Seasoned perfectly. Cooked perfectly. DELICIOUS. His is my second time at Perch. Service was a little slow but to be expected because of the event. The vibes on the rooftop are amazing!!! I'll be back for the lamb. I also got a French 75 to drink.

Where this place falls flat for me is the food. We went for brunch so I'm not sure what their lunch and dinner menu looked like but I had their chicken and waffles. Typically, I'm used to having this dish with just chicken on top of a waffle with a side of syrup that you can pour over. This dish was drenched with a sauce that wasn't syrup but still sort of sweet? It wasn't necessarily *bad*, it's just that I wasn't expecting it. About 30 minutes after we were seated and had already ordered drinks and food, our waitress came back and told us we had to spend a minimum of $350 for two people to keep the table. That is something that should have been clearly communicated by the host before seating us, not after we were already settled in and spending money. What made it even more frustrating was the inconsistency. I asked the people sitting next to us if they had been told the same thing, and they had not. A few minutes later, I heard staff telling someone else that the minimum was $300 for two people. So not only was the policy disclosed late, it also seemed unclear or unevenly applied. I have no problem with table minimums when they are communicated upfront; I can make my decision based on clear Ts and Cs. What I do have a problem with is surprise spending requirements after guests are seated and have already ordered. That feels less like hospitality and more like a hustle. In the end, I elected to close out and leave. The food was mid at best (not saying that because of my experience) and the drinks were fine. Overall experience was overshadowed by the shiesty staff and management. Had they handled me differently, I would have spent double or triple that. They won't get another red cent from me.

I went to Pearl Street Warehouse twice: this past Thursday and last night. I mainly went there for two holiday parties. The first time on Thursday night, the people at the door was giving us a hard time refusing to let us in even though I was there to meet up with a friend that was going to take me home. I immediately requested to speak to the manager & he reluctantly let me & my friend in. We went straight to the bar to meet our friend. I asked the bartender for a cup of water. I guess me unwittingly overlooking the pre-made water pitchers annoyed him for working harder than he needed & he pointed at the pre-made water pitchers, not saying a word to me. I told him never mind I'll pour from one of the pitchers. He still decided to make a cup of water anyway despite my small protest. I accepted it. I tasted it & was immediately disgusted. It tasted & smelled like tequila. I am certain he didn't pour tequila in it, but the bar's tap pour must be so dirty or unfiltered from prior servicing, it starts to taste like other things BUT water. I even had my friend to taste & smell it to make sure it wasn't just me, and he agreed. I nicely let the bartender know the water tasted funky. Instead of saying I'm sorry I'll fix that or even just suggesting using the pitchers, he decides to try to make the situation more than what it was by trying to debate/argue with me and was actually accusing me of ACCUSING him that he intentionally tried to pour me something I didn't want to get me "drunk". I was dumbfounded at such an insane & random accusation just because I simply said the water smells & tastes like tequila. Nothing in that statement is accusatory towards him, and I told him I was not accusing him of anything. But I guess he was so upset from my minor complaint that he got the bar manager involved to "prove me wrong." The bar manager didn't seem to want to get involved but did anyway. The bartender decided to taste the water to essentially gaslight me & tell me it didn't smell nor taste bad. The bar manager tried it too & agreed with him. They were 100% wrong and unprofessional. I'm unsure what was the point of going out of the way to prove two customers wrong instead of simply letting it go, but I can assure you me & my friends will never return nor recommend this place. Based on other reviews I've read on here, I see that I am not the only one who has had bad encounters from rude staff and management and seems to have been an issue for YEARS. This might have been one of the rudest & nastiest encounters I've ever had at any establishment in my life. Trying to cause a scene with a customer over dirty water is a very bad look. I would highly suggest the staff, especially that specific bartender, to seek professional help & professional development in customer service. Beyond that very rude and insulting encounter, the ambiance was that of a dirty frat bar, area around the bar is very unclean & the floor is soaked in spilled drinks, so if you go there on a busy night (if they have those), be careful. The live performance on Friday was meh, but I think that was a band the folks hosting the holiday party chose. I also saw in other reviews that the talent they tend to pick are mediocre at best. I can see that being true I do believe Pearl Street Warehouse saving grace is its location (the Wharf). If this establishment existed anywhere else in DC, I am doubtful they'd still be in business solely from their rudeness/unprofessionalism. Hopefully, they will improve on custom service.

The restaurant is super cute, with a fun cafe vibe, and it's an easy walk from the waterfront. We ordered the Colada Trio, which came with empanadas, cauliflower sliders, and yuca fries. Everything was delicious, and it came with three different sauces that were honestly all so good. I could've eaten those sauces with everything. We also ordered the Platanachos (plantain nachos), which were flavorful and such a fun twist on traditional nachos. They accidentally forgot the cauliflower and mushroom topping, but as soon as I mentioned it, they brought it out right away along with extra sauce.
