This was my first time visiting the D.C. location, and my husband and I were ecstatic to try it since we both are huge fans of their Tysons spot! It is definitely one of the fancier Korean restaurants int he DMV area. From start to finish, the service was top notch and the food was absolutely delicious! We visited on a Friday and took advantage of the Restaurant Week menu, which was an excellent value at $65 a person. I particularly enjoyed their grilled asparagus, makguksu, and soybean paste soup. The makguksu isn't too spicy and the broth complements the noodles perfectly. The soybean paste soup is always packed with plenty of fresh ingredients and tofu! I'm not a stranger to KBBQ. I have my favorite spots in NYC KTown and NJ Fort Lee. I've also had my fair share of "upscale" BBQ of all sorts - Korean, Japanese, etc. I like to think I'm pretty well-versed in the food category. Ingle was ... not my choice. My DC in-laws really enjoyed the experience they had at Ingle, so they insisted we try it when we were visiting. They were great about sitting us a little early. We had the entire back room for our party of 10. We had a dedicated server for the entire night. He was amazing. I cannot rave enough about the service. But the food? I honestly thought it was just fine. The quality of the meat was very good. But for the price we're paying, there were only 2 banchans - a tiny bowl of kimchi and a tiny bowl of namul. Lettuce for making ssam was extra cost. I've never been to a KBBQ spot - fancy or not - that only gave 2 tiny bowls of banchan. We had the octopus slaad, which was also just fine. It wasn't really spicy enough - or had much flavor. It just didn't feel worth it to me and I don't think I'll personally be back at Ingle. read more

I can see a use case for Ingle if you can't make it out to the suburbs, but overall left not feeling my kbbq itch was scratched. They serve an $80 prefix, which the main highlight for me were the meats. Although I preferred the leaner cuts (hanger and tri tip) were better than the galbi and marinated zabuton, which were very rich (usually balanced by rice/lettuce/banchan). The banchan are small and unmemorable. no potato salad, no radishes. some plain kimchi, a couple sauces, can't remember what else. The meal comes with some starters, sides, a "main" and a dessert, which is really either coffee or a scoop of ice cream unless you pay extra for bingsu or tiramisu. the scallion pancake was pretty good, panko crust so it's crispier than others. steak tartare was nice. the corn cheese, mushroom and asparagus were ok. for the main, they were ok but really just filler to round out the meal, no one at my table finished theirs. Service was slow and disjointed, got orders wrong, slow on refills, etc. read more

Experience was a 4, food overall was a 3.5. Food: very good options for price, it's about 80$ for a large quantity of food. They give you good cuts of meats, apps, hot meals and side dishes. The hot meals were lacking and there was really only one that was shareable (a beef fried rice). The other 2 options were cold dishes or a soup. Service: it was evident that our waiter was brand new so the service wasn't the best. We ordered an expensive white wine that came at room temperature. Drinks: not much uniqueness to the cocktails. As part of our DC visit, we treated six family members to a fantastic foodie night at Ingle Korean Steakhouse--a spot our son (who lives here) highly recommended, and he was absolutely right. We were warmly welcomed by Natalie, our server, who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. She walked us through the menu like a pro--perfect for us first-timers--while getting us started with some delicious scallion salads. We briefly considered doing the prix-fixe, but went with à la carte instead... and were really glad we did. We kicked things off with a spread of shareables: steak tartare, ssam (lettuce wraps), scallion salad, wok-charred asparagus with garlic chips, corn cheese (sweet, cheesy, slightly indulgent goodness), sautéed mushrooms, jjamppong (a spicy seafood and beef noodle soup), doenjang jjigae (rich soybean paste soup with beef), and beef fried rice. A few of us added white rice to round things out. For the main event, both tables went with the galbi (boneless short ribs), and our table also tried the jumulleok and the ribeye cap. Everything came out perfectly cooked to medium, then cut into bite-sized pieces and served--such a nice touch. The vibe struck that perfect balance: upscale but relaxed, lively but not loud--easy to enjoy great conversation while still soaking in the energy of the room. Really legit. The best Korean food in the District. We've been to the Tyson's location, so we had a high bar, but this location is just as great and SO much more convenient for us. We did the lunch pre fixe and everything was just SO tasty! We chose the jjampong and the doenjang jiggae as our savory meals. Both were so good and so flavorful! I was surprised how large the jjampong was. Also the kimchi was really legit here too. The meat was all so tender and cooked perfectly (we request medium rare). We also added the ssam side for lettuce leaves to wrap the meat in. Finished with fruit and an iced americano! Can't ask for more. I was totally full and really happy about having a new great Korean restaurant in the area. I would come here just for the jjampong if I didn't want to go for the whole bbq meats thing. read more

I had an awesome, elevated Korean bbq experience, arguably one of the best in DC proper. Walked in on a Wednesday night and had no problem getting seated. The two of us shared one app, one hot entree, one side, and one meat. All were phenomenal, but highlights were the beef fried rice and asparagus. The staff grills your meat for you (a nice touch), and are overall very friendly! The space is stunning, and the meal was very reasonably priced. It's a comfortable space for a group too. I have been a fan of Ingle's Virginia location since 2023. If fine dining and Korean BBQ was a thing, Ingle would be a fitting description. Ingle is one of my favorite places to go for some good quality meats and Korean inspired dishes. The service, the quality of food, ambiance, attention to detail and knowledge base of all staff members are on a different level compared to your average restaurant. I came on a Friday evening to take advantage of the restaurant week menu. The dinner prix fixe ($65/person) was an excellent value. Although it is not the most filling as many AYCE places, the quality and aforementioned aspects of this establishment outweigh the cost basis. The starter was a pumpkin porridge which is a very familiar dish that I grew up on. If you grow up in a Korean household, you probably developed your own taste and particularities about your pumpkin porridge. The one served here was a bit sweet and too grainy for me. I could taste and feel the glutinous rice grains. The scallion pancake had a good crisp and it did not have too much batter on it which I liked. It went well with the sauce provided. The meats on the menu was tri-tip, hanger steak, galbi and marinated zabuton. All meats were cooked by our server perfectly. The quality was very good and paired well with each of the condiments. My advice is to eat the unmarinated meats with just salt and a hint of wasabi. The grilled asparagus had a great flavor, but I wish it had the asparagus tips included and not just the stalk. The makguksu was not too spicy and was refreshing. The noodles had a good bouncy texture. the misutgaru tiramisu was very very thick but had a good roasted grains flavor. Jimmy was my server and he did an excellent job taking care of me and my wife while attending to several other tables and bigger groups. There is a parking garage nearby and some street parking options nearby. I was able to find street parking a block away. A very good addition to the U street corridor food scene. There is no particular dress code, but it is somewhat of an upscale and luxury experience so go at your own discretion. read more

This is probably the best KBBQ I've ever had. The meat was amazing and cooked perfectly by our server at our table. All four cuts were delicious and there wasn't one I wouldn't eat again. The appetizers were also good (especially the toast with roe) but nothing can beat the all waygu meat. The beef fried rice was also delicious, and reheated wonderfully at home for lunch the next day. We did the price fixe and it was a generous amount of food (that I would do again). The restaurant was beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food delicious. Plus, you can't beat the convenient location right on 14 street downtown--so glad it opened. Will definitely be back! read more

Not gonna lie, I can be a tough critic of Korean restaurants (and particularly higher-end spots) as a resident of Queens, NY and a frequent traveler to Korea. I read the positive reviews of Ingle, but I still had a healthy level of skepticism when entering the establishment. I was there for a family dinner with my husband, brother, and extended family while in town for the holidays, and I can say that we all left feeling full, satisfied, and impressed. The restaurant itself if beautiful. It has a really modern, clean aesthetic with some updated takes on traditional Korean artwork and decor. The service was fantastic. Our server was extremely patient, attentive, friendly, and unflappable. We had the tasting menu and loved everything. The jeon was so delicious with the crab meat and panko for added crunch. The yukhwe was also a stand out. Really fresh and well seasoned. The meats were visually stunning and also tender and flavorful. I had the jjampong as my entree, and it was on point--full of seafood and perfectly cooked noodles. The modern desserts were also a nice touch: frozen sujungwha, misugaru tiramisu, bingsu....definitely unique and well executed. Upscale kbbq is not typically something that I think about as a good mix but Ingle does a great job of turning the experience into a classy, charming night. I've been away from DC for ~1.5 years, so when I reached out to my remaining local friends and asked about the best option to satisfy by kbbq craving, I was a bit surprised to see Ingle being recommended. We tried the prix fixe menu, which comes with 1 appetizer/two people (2 appetizers for 3 people), 1 side/two people (same situation), one entree per person, and one desert per person, IN ADDITION to a healthy heaping of 4 cuts of decadent, delicious meat. The service was spectacular, and I left the restaurant with no pervasive smokiness on my clothing, which was a plus. While on the more expensive side, you are certainly paying for a great experience. The three of us went with their prix fixe menu for $80/person. However, the choices for each course is for a party of four. So, instead of the usual three appetizers we could only order two. The check reflected a $12 charge for dessert even though it's included in the prix fixe menu. Our server said it was for "labor". If their food was amazing I'd ignore it.
