Free popcorn and amaretto sour (great happy hour price!)

Y'all I was dumb for giving them a 4. This is my favorite bar in the city. Love Sam the bartender (he makes great amarettos sour), Dillan, and the free popcorn they have. Love coming here whenever I can

Had a great time at this bar. Free popcorn. Beer was great. The vibe was very intimate and chill. I like that it's smaller so you can chat with people easily. Staff were great. It got a little crowded as the night went on. Spent a few hours here having a great time. Would recommend.

I loved this place, I was seeking some dive bar vibes while in the China Town area. I found that here and the bartender had amazing music playing!! The people here were friendly and the popcorn was on point. Such a great idea to keep people sitting and drinking because I sure was. I will definitely be back next time I'm in DC. Pretty simple bar with the usual selection but I will note I do not think they have darts, pool tables, nor a jukebox, if you're seeking those things.

We've come here a handful of times and every time it's been a time! They have really affordable drinks and not to mention a popcorn machine. Service is quick and the crowd ranges in age, race and gender. Dive bar vibes in Chinatown for sure!

Coming here you hit the jackpot coming here. This is a dive bar. That's casual and clean. And just what you need. Great happy hour specials. Great service. Loud atmosphere but is appropriate for the atmosphere. There is no food but free popcorn. Which is delightful. Excellent beer menu/selection. Wine and full bar also. TVs have the game on. Location is great. Close to sports arena.

I traveled 3000 miles to go to see the Los Angeles Kings play the Washington Capitals in DC. My son and his girlfriend recently moved from LA to DC and we had a group of 8 going to the game. We stopped at Jackpot for a beer before the game started. It was great. We were wearing LA Kings jerseys in a sea of Caps red. The Caps fans were super friendly. I had a festbier from a brewery in Virginia.. It was October so I knew it would be fresh. They also had free popcorn. (I wish it was free beer) If only the LA Kings hadn't blown a 2-0 lead to lose the game. This is a basement dive bar across the street from the Capital One Center. It is worth a stop if you are going to a hockey or basketball game. I am going back the next time I go to visit.

Me, before I showed up... - A man with a shaved head and beard, wearing a white dress shirt and beige tie, is taking a selfie. The background features brick walls, wooden ceiling beams, and two wall-mounted TV screens, indicating an indoor environment such as a restaurant or bar.

This place hasn't changed since I was in college. It was busier, but remains a great atmosphere, good beer list, and popcorn.

This location is in the heart of the city so even if you care to walk around the city at the end of beginning of your trip to S&S, you're in a good mobile area! Other eatery and entertaining spots are all within walking disance. Parking to address, was bad. There are SOME parking lots in the surrounding areas but verrrry minimal, so I would advise Uber'ing in or carpooling with friends. My party of 3 were lucky to have gotten a spot right outside of the entrance. Sidebar, because the Super Bowl and other sports are in rotation now, I would 100000% advise parties over 2 to make a reservation, as its the most helpful to guarantee a spot. See Open Table for reservations - that was where our plans were arranged. See attached pictures for the food we ate and enjoyed - the wings (mine were mumbo and buffalo), fries, and crab dip.

My friend hosted a happy hour there, and I love when events like that introduce you to new spots. The drink specials were honestly amazing with $6 drinks, which is hard to beat. The food specials ended at 7 while the drink specials continued until 8, so I was a little bummed to miss out on that. One thing to note if you're ordering food, the four cheese pizza comes with burrata, which I didn't realize ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more of the food, especially the flatbreads since they seem to have a lot of good options. That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. At times, it took over 10 minutes just to place an order. I don't necessarily think that's the norm, so I'd be open to coming back during a regular happy hour to get a better feel for the service. Great size bar as well.

They are happy to recommend beer for your taste, and let you sample. It can be very busy and difficult to get a seat at the bar or get a table on a Friday or Saturday evening. We ordered food, and were expecting elevated bar food. The tater tots were a huge disappointment- they were very large squares , bland, and not crispy. The wings were okay. The cheeseburgers were the best- from the restaurant downstairs- mallard. Huge burger, done perfectly medium.

I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it. It was empty for a weekend afternoon The drinks were cheap - $7 for specials and they weee made pretty strong. Service was friendly. They add 20% gratuity automatically and don't share that with you - which is always a pain and not appreciated when they don't tell you and with lots of restaurants following different rules in DC.

Once inside, we were escorted up an elevator to the rooftop which was set up very comfortably. There's a long bar that seats 10-15 guests, lots of high top tables, and a good handful of booths. The lighting is fun, views are solid, and open-covered patio is really nice. The drinks were good - there was a $6 vodka lemonade special for the day so we had a few rounds of those. The lemonade they used was delicious - perfectly tart to cut the vodka well. They also added mint to the drink, which really made it pop. I'm about to start doing the same at home! We tried the nachos which were a little disappointing. Nothing stood out from a flavor or taste perspective - they need a little pop of seasoning or flavor. They also weren't your traditional nacho platter, but seemingly an elevated 'fancier' version. Appreciate the effort to elevate the dish, but a classic sheetpan nacho would have been perfect. Our service was a little bit slow - we found ourselves having to work a little bit to flag down a waitress or bartender. Not terribly slow, but something that we noticed throughout the afternoon. Pro tip: Keep your eyes peeled as you head towards the entrance - the main door was a little tough to find. We walked right past the entrance way once and had to doubleback. A larger sidewalk presence might be helpful to help bring folks in.
