Washington, D.C. needs more places like Snappy's. Far from the U.S. Capitol in a storied neighborhood, it's a small bar with a big personality that's inclusive of all and accessible to everybody. Opened by a former bartender at The Dew Drop Inn, it's open daily from 5 p.m, until very late (between 2-3 a.m.). Dimly lit, the first room with the bar is small but comes with bar seating and standing areas by the walls. There's one booth and a popcorn maker. There's a mural-decorated back outdoor patio with more space. Their menu carries draft beer (there's even a sour ale), $10 cocktails with a spin, wine, and a few snack items like popcorn and Dino nuggets. Don't come here for dinner, but the snacks are worth your time. It's a kind of place that attracts all kinds of people, many looking for community. Go for an event or go with a small group of friends. It's a place that you'll come back to over and over again.

A hidden speakeasy gem (with a big ol' sign up front) that I'm not even supposed to write about it. Seven days old, but feels like it's been here 70. Non-ironically, its bar is small, its bartenders surly, with a massive patio--and a godfather-style round table in the back for making big deals or taking shots. The frosty espresso cocktail is amazing.

Snappy's Small Bar is exactly that- a small bar in the heart of Petworth. I stumbled upon it because a lot of the other nearby bars were closed (which I found odd on a Friday night). I am glad I stopped through though. Very dimly lit inside, it has a small college town bar feel. There isn't a full bar so the drink options are limited but I think they offer a decent selection of beer, cocktails (with fun names) and even Truly. The service was good and there was music playing but you could still comfortably have a conversation without yelling. I love the unique/old school style and Peanuts decor. Look forward to visiting again.

YELP! WELP here's the new ..... I'm speechless as I'm typing this review but I must say that SNAPPYS the SMALL bar located in Washington DC is a place of fun and excitement! Additionally- Dave and his kind staff made my experience such an incredible experience for me and my fellow bike friends . If you live or ever plan to visit the nations capital, this is the place to be . That being said - this bar is highly recommended for any person(s) groups , wanting a new fun experience in the District of Columbia. ~ Amos

First of all, Snappy's is a good laid back bar with really nice people working the bar. Second, love to say all the drinks were really good! Definitely will be visiting again soon after my experience!

The food was good and large portions! I think it's a good spot for an Italian dinner that feels authentic, or for drinks. It was super chill..nice dimmed lighting, very clean. The bartender was just ok. He seemed snarky...and wasn't to open to answering too many questions about the menu. We had Seafood Manicotti and another seafood squid ink pasta dish ..both were good. The bartender was the only complaint I had as for his service etiquette. I asked for a ginger beer w/ 2 limes, he gave ut to me without a straw or any beverage napkins. Most women or ppl dont Wana drink from the glass. Also, if im asking for sliced citrus garnishes than it's likely I may put them to the side after squeezing the juice from them. But I dont care to put food directly on any bar nor do I want to have wet fingers. So I had to request napkins that were sitting not too far and a straw for my friend and I. It should be common courtesy. Other than that ( the bartender)..it was a good time and good food.

My friends ordered the garlic Parmesan wings, bbq wings, old bay fries and salmon sliders and I didn't hear one bad review. All of the staff was friendly (ask for Bre she'll take care of you). Both DJs were a vibe and definitely had me and friends there way longer than we anticipated. The only reason I took away a star is because the air conditioner didn't seem to be working. They did have huge fans in there to try and cool it down but they didn't seem to work. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Entitlement Lounge. You won't be disappointed!

So off we went. We had a lovely time. The place was atmospheric and loungey, the service personable, the food very good. Overall a good choice for a special occasion. I enjoyed the food, all cooked over an open fire, but honestly something about it was just shy of transcendent. I think it's a little TOO flavorful. The spices feel a bit overwrought and lacking in nuance, so that there is not much difference in flavor between the dishes. The bread is excellent though, and helped to balance out those strong flavors. The two restaurants share a kitchen, so I think in future I would dine at Maydan, which is where the hearth actually is (all the food served at Medina is walked across the alleyway from Maydan) and choose Medina as a cocktail bar that also has food.

I'd recommend trying to come a bit earlier in the night or on a slightly off day -- we came by around 8 PM on a Thursday -- and you might be able to slip in with no or minimal wait. We were initially placed at a standing table, then relocated to a proper table when one opened up after about 30 minutes. It is a smidge loud, but still manageable, and I love the cozy, homey atmosphere created by the dim lighting, almost industrial architecture mixed with old fashioned bookshelves (which double as bathroom doors), and candles. They have a short menu of custom cocktails you can choose from, or you can also ask for any of the classics and/or tell the bartender what you typically enjoy and let them come up with a good fit. We tried a smattering of cocktails, including two from their menu, a whiskey sour, and a bee sting (which the bartender selected for us based on our general preferences). Each one was expertly crafted and extremely tasty, and made so much better by the ambiance.

I generally will add myself to the waitlist and then head out to grab dinner. If you are called before dinner is finished, they are generally good about moving you further down the waitlist. I generally always go that route and have been happy with my drinks. I even requested a non alcoholic drink once and I felt like i got the same fun experience.

Yelp helps me to discover this place, and even though there was no happy hour at the time, it was a nice stop. The menu is primarily mexican, but I see some Salvadorian on there too (mainly pupusas). I didn't see an option for single tacos, so I opted for just one loroco pupusa. The event I was going to was food, so I wanted to keep it light. I wanted to try a drink too, and just opted for a regular margarita. When I was given the option of either a regular or a large, I had to go with the latter. The margarita came in one of those delightful chalices, and I got a tajin rim. The pupusa was delicious, but this was one of the few times I had to eat it with a knife and fork because it was so hot, and a sauce made it kind of messy. It was great otherwise! It was the perfect amount of food for me at the time. While I was there, a few parties came through and mainly sat outside. I was the only one inside, and the staff were lovely.
