As a first timer, I had an amazing experience at Lyle's for DC restaurant week. The space is so beautiful! I was living in the moment and didn't captured pics so you'll have to go for yourself. I have the broccolini, short ribs and cheesecake off the special menu. If it's any indication of the regular menu, it's worth visiting back. The broccolini was cooked to perfection, short ribs were fork tender and the cheesecake as decadent and the perfect size to finish dinner. First off, a note to somebody in my party, yes you really do need to make reservations at Lyle for brunch on Sundays. Lyle isn't that large and to be accommodated if you don't have you a reservation, you may be seated in the bar (which happened to us), where the tables are low and a little awkward for eating. We do wish the hostess/maitre d on Sunday, 3/15/26 at around 1:00pm had been a little less stern and a little more welcoming. But after getting past her, the service was excellent and the food very good. I ordered the hangar steak with chimichurri, hash browns and over-easy eggs. The hanger steak was flavorful, tender and cooked just right. I've never seen a hash brown like this. At first I thought it was a cube of pork belly. Still, the hash brown was great. Our party also ordered the Shashuka and Avocado Toast. These were both very good. I think prices are in-line with other restaurants in the area. Portions are decent, not overwhelming. The exceptions would be the massive bowl of a pleasing mixture of fruit and the huge fat slices of multigrain toast. Bonus points for serving soft butter and blackberry jam with the toast. By the time we left, around 2pm, there were several people waiting for tables. Brunch ends at 3pm so I wondered if these guys were even going to get seated. read more

I'm usually hesitant to dine at hotel restaurants, they often feel overpriced and underwhelming. However, Lyle's completely exceeded my expectations! The vibe is effortlessly chic and perfect for a girls' night out. I especially loved the cozy couches, which made the space feel stylish yet comfortable. The service was attentive and efficient without ever making us feel rushed, which I really appreciated. We shared the brussels sprouts and calamari to start, and both appetizers were delicious. My salmon entrée was good, slightly on the salty side, but still very enjoyable. The martinis were excellent and definitely a highlight of the evening. Our waiter was helpful and attentive but definitely started to rush us out towards the end. I wish he would have suggested we sit at the bar if he wanted to free up the table. Food - a friend and I ordered drinks, dessert and several dishes to share. Short rib with a leek cream sauce was delicious! It was served with a small portion of sweet potato which was flavorless and remained largely uneaten. Crispy pork belly was excellent! Flavorful and prepared in a way that was easy to enjoy. Broccolini was lacking flavor. To drink I got an espresso martini - excellent! And for desert I enjoyed the affogato. Our reservations were at 1pm and I must say that the DJ kept it lively until 3pm when the music stopped. Thank you to the entire staff from the hostess to our waiter, Ronal. Drinks: I didn't get the mimosas but enjoyed a few glasses of sauvignon blanc-crisp and satisfying! For my entree I went with the short rib hash minus the garlic cream sauce. This dish packed SO much flavor and was just enough to share or have leftovers for the next day. Perfect balance of fattiness from the short rib, sweetness from the red peppers and onions, earthiness from the well seasoned potatoes, and added protein from the fried egg. I was really excited to try the place that has DC tik tok up in ARMS. Upon entry, you're greeted with the sexiest, most elegant decor and ambiance - perfect for a date night. I remember this space as The Riggsby which is what it was called before the hotel it is in was renamed. It is a cozy and well appointed space. I visited Lyle's with a friend and I have all the details! So let's get into it. First, the ambiance is very cozy, very romantic. Think dimly lit, quiet, smooth vibes. That being said, if you like to take pictures be sure to take them before you come, as flash cameras are not allowed. But very nice, clean, and aesthetically pleasing! Now, the service. I have to say I was a bit disappointed here. I arrived about 15 minutes before my guest so I was initially there alone. I was seated immediately which was good and ordered a glass of Cabernet. Unfortunately, although nice, our server Ronald was not very attentive initially, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. He even told me eventually after I'd been waiting for a bit "oh, when your other person gets here, I'll be way more attentive . Don't worry" . I think he meant it as a joke but it was extremely off putting to me and sullied my experience somewhat. Next, let's get into the eats. Let me start by saying EVERYTHING was fantastic and perfectly seasoned. We had the cheddar biscuits and prosciutto to start off. The biscuits were flaky, fresh, and masterfully made. They were everything you would want in a starter. We were so happy yet not overly fully and it made us excited for the rest of the meal. I had the Cod, which came with squash and a salad. The Cod was flaky, seasoned well, and made with love. This was the BEST squash I've ever had. The presentation was top tier and the flavors all blended perfectly. The salad was fresh and tasty as well. My date had the chicken pot pie and a Caesar salad. I tasted a bite of both and I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the most pleasurable bite of food I've had in a long time. The pot pie crust was flaky, fresh, and crafted perfectly. It was a bit chilly outside and this made the PERFECT meal for dinner. My date could not stop raving about it. Run, don't walk and please go try this, it was absolutely incredible. The Caesar salad was fresh and perfectly put together as well. Overall, this food was outstanding. The service improved somewhat but the initial interaction left somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth. Beautiful decor with a nice ambiance. The bar/lounge area is located in the front when you first walk in. Perfect for having drinks with friends and catching up (intimate setting with couch/chairs and small coffee tables). The restaurant is towards the back with a similar set up and beautiful decor. I came here with my friend for resturaunt week and we had such a lovely time! I got the mussles off the RW menue and they were so incredibly good. I could have drank the entire bowl of broth. I got the miso salmon which was good, though a little overcooked, and then my friend and I both got the cheesecake for desert. Unfortunately, there was no advertisement that this was only available at the bar - so we begrudgingly ordered from the regular menu. With an open style kitchen, we got a front row view of everything coming out of the kitchen - and it all looked delicious. We joked the burger looked like a crabby patty - almost fake looking it was so perfect! We were super impressed by the food quality - crab cake had a crispy exterior, curly fries cooked to perfection, and the crab Mac and cheese was the right amount of indulgent. The Brussels were not my favorite - barely a whisper of raisins or bacon, heavy on the pickled flavor. While the food was delicious, the service fell flat. Super slow, even while the dining room was not busy and there were multiple servers. We watched as our food was placed in the ready line and untouched for a long time so food got colder and ice cream melted. Our need for accommodations/sides were not met without follow up. Overall, I would like to come back as the food was excellent and the menu rotates. Back at my favorite brunch spot this weekend! The service wasn't as great as I'm used to but the vibes were still high. There was some confusion with our reservation and we had to wait about 20 minutes before we could be seated. Once seated they told us we had to rush but then no one came over to us for a while. Once we got someone they'd let us know that last call had already passed so we couldn't do the bottomless option and that some of their food options were no longer available. Luckily for us the waiter made an accommodation and was able to bring us espresso martinis that were 10/10 absolutely delicious. I got the burger for the first time and it was pretty good. Came for a noon reservation on a Saturday and after being a few minutes late, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was great, coming back often enough to ensure we were taken care of but not too often where it felt overbearing. We went with steak and eggs, the burger, french toast to share, sangria, and bottomless mimosas. Everything was great -- steak and eggs both cooked perfectly, no sauce or extra seasoning needed (chimichurri was just enough), french toast was very good with both the strawberries and whipped cream, and the burger was cooked/seasoned just to my liking. The french toast can get soggy, but even then was still great. I enjoyed the ambiance a lot; the DJ was playing a nice mix of throwbacks and new music of all genres and the music wasn't too loud and he wasn't on a mic which was great. It did get very loud by the end of our meal once the restaurant was full, which can't really be helped unless more space is added, but I will definitely be back. read more

Went for my birthday brunch. I had a party of 14 people and reserved their private dining area. The room was super cute and they had a Bluetooth speaker we could use to play our own music. It was a pre-fixe menu that includes bottomless mimosas. I was a little early for our reservation so I waited at the bar and ordered an espresso martini while I waited which was delicious! Once everyone arrived we were seated in the back where they have a nice private dining room. Our servers were very attentive and the food was very good. At first the hash brown threw me off but it tasted great so I had no complaints. I went for brunch and came out with a headacke. The music was nice because there was a DJ, but my issue was the volume... It was too loud. I could not hear myself think. I asked the maitre'd if she could turn the music down because the speaker was right over my head. She told me that she couldn't because that was the "ambience" of Lyle's brunch. So I left as soon as I was done because the sound was too much. I couldn't hear my brunch companion (I was tired of shouting), and I was getting a headache. I saw a man walking in the lobby with a young baby. He said that he was walking with her in the lobby because he was concerned about the sound affecting her hearing at such a tender age. The people at the table near to me even commented that when they came to eat, they didn't expect to be coming to the club. I appreciate the need to have a DJ instead of a curated playlist because I can understand that it can amplify the experience. But if I'm coming out for brunch, I'm coming for the food, not the music. I would rather have a nice/low volume brunch experience than what I recently experienced at Lyle's so I don't intend to return... The food wasn't so good that I would forego my hearing . Despite, that I will say I did like the portions and the potato cake was unexpectedly good. However, the volume of the music took away from the entire experience. read more

Definitely grab a reservation to make your experience seamless but every Saturday theres a DJ with a nice mix of music to suit everyone's preference. My go to is the Short Rib Hash but everything is amazing on the menu including the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I have no clue why this place has four stars but it's an easy five for me. The seating and ambience is so nice and so pretty. It's so well lit in there not too loud. It's very intimate while still having kind of a feng shui to it. I recommend going there anytime of the week. read more
