Such great vibes and energy every time I visit Lyle's for brunch. The live DJ is stellar, the food is full of flavor, and the drinks are strong and flowing!! Its location in DuPont is also great because you can easily take a gorgeous walk after brunch. Lyle's is definitely a DC staple for brunch for sure!!
I've been to Lyle's many times over the last few years. A dc brunch powerhouse, and reliable birthday dinner staple, they never fail to impress with their small menu. Professional wait staff, and a gorgeous interior take the dining experiences the extra mile. For brunch the endless mimosas are a must, as well as the banana bread.
Honestly just okay. My french toast portion was small and the waiter was no help with my friend's need for a gluten free menu.
First off, a note to somebody in my party, yes you really do need to make reservations at Lyle for brunch on Sundays. Lyle isn't that large and to be accommodated if you don't have you a reservation, you may be seated in the bar (which happened to us), where the tables are low and a little awkward for eating. We do wish the hostess/maitre d on Sunday, 3/15/26 at around 1:00pm had been a little less stern and a little more welcoming. But after getting past her, the service was excellent and the food very good. I ordered the hangar steak with chimichurri, hash browns and over-easy eggs. The hanger steak was flavorful, tender and cooked just right. I've never seen a hash brown like this. At first I thought it was a cube of pork belly. Still, the hash brown was great. Our party also ordered the Shashuka and Avocado Toast. These were both very good. I think prices are in-line with other restaurants in the area. Portions are decent, not overwhelming. The exceptions would be the massive bowl of a pleasing mixture of fruit and the huge fat slices of multigrain toast. Bonus points for serving soft butter and blackberry jam with the toast. By the time we left, around 2pm, there were several people waiting for tables. Brunch ends at 3pm so I wondered if these guys were even going to get seated.
Lyle's was such a vibe. We came for brunch and the DJ was on, mimosas were flowing, and the energy was great. The chicken and waffles and the short rib hash were both amazing. We got the unlimited mimosas and they had about four different options, so you could mix it up and kind of make your own. The decor is super modern and really nice too. Definitely a fun brunch spot!
TLDR - cool, moody vibe and delicious food! Great for a date or drinks with friends. Vibe - this restaurant has such a great vibe, I would come back just for the ambiance. Our waiter was helpful and attentive but definitely started to rush us out towards the end. I wish he would have suggested we sit at the bar if he wanted to free up the table. Food - a friend and I ordered drinks, dessert and several dishes to share. Short rib with a leek cream sauce was delicious! It was served with a small portion of sweet potato which was flavorless and remained largely uneaten. Crispy pork belly was excellent! Flavorful and prepared in a way that was easy to enjoy. Broccolini was lacking flavor. To drink I got an espresso martini - excellent! And for desert I enjoyed the affogato. The gelato was surprisingly flavorful and delicious and I loved that they served the espresso separate.
Gather your friends, bring a date, or take yourself on a solo date..whatever your decision, this place accommodates them all! Saturday brunch was AMAZING! Our reservations were at 1pm and I must say that the DJ kept it lively until 3pm when the music stopped. Thank you to the entire staff from the hostess to our waiter, Ronal. Drinks: I didn't get the mimosas but enjoyed a few glasses of sauvignon blanc-crisp and satisfying! For my entree I went with the short rib hash minus the garlic cream sauce. This dish packed SO much flavor and was just enough to share or have leftovers for the next day. Perfect balance of fattiness from the short rib, sweetness from the red peppers and onions, earthiness from the well seasoned potatoes, and added protein from the fried egg. My only wish was that it could have been elevated with a runny egg to seal the deal. Nonetheless, the food was delicious! Our bill was to be expected but I will say that for the price for person, you really can't find another brunch this affordable in DC. I'll be back again!
Went for brunch on a Saturday! Surprisingly, there was a decent amount of seating but we did have a res to be safe. People say it's loud and, be warned, it is. But the throwback jams were super fun! To eat, I had the short rib hash and it was yummy! The meat could use more seasoning but otherwise lots of great elements.
The brunch here is great and Lee is the best server. We ordered a variety of food during brunch and everything was good. There was a DJ setup in the dining area playing recent hits. This place has become one of the best kept secrets in the City.
The ambiance was great for grabbing dinner/drinks. The drinks were delicious but on the weaker side in my opinion LOL. I got their salmon for my entree which was cooked perfectly. The star of the show was the apple cobbler. We expected it to be small but it was a generous portion that my friend and I were sadly unable to finish. Overall would come back again!
I was really excited to try the place that has DC tik tok up in ARMS. Upon entry, you're greeted with the sexiest, most elegant decor and ambiance - perfect for a date night. The bartender was both talented and attentive, and the doorman was equally as kind. Unfortunately, I cannot say the food matched the vibe and lovely staff. I ordered the chicken pot pie, which genuinely tasted like nothing, and my friend had the chicken wrap, which she said was perfectly fine, but not memorable. We also split the crab cake slider, which was sadly more filler than crab. The star of the show was the perfectly cooked curly fries, which I would honestly come back for! But honestly, this was a bit disappointing.
Went to Lyle's for their "Girl Dinner" special. It includes a martini, a healthy helping of curly fries and a substantial (in size) Caesar salad. We were able to add a protein to our salad for an up charge but it was totally worth it! Only tried the short rib dish from their main menu, could use a bit more seasoning but the short rib was tender. The staff were attentive but not obtrusive and we felt taken care of. I remember this space as The Riggsby which is what it was called before the hotel it is in was renamed. It is a cozy and well appointed space. Reminds me a lot of the restaurants I loved in Harlem.
Beautiful decor with a nice ambiance. The bar/lounge area is located in the front when you first walk in. Perfect for having drinks with friends and catching up (intimate setting with couch/chairs and small coffee tables). The restaurant is towards the back with a similar set up and beautiful decor. The staff provided good service and our waiter was very nice and attentive, I believe his name is Tony. The drinks and the food were absolutely delicious! The short rib was tender and cooked to perfection. The Cesar salad was amazing and let me just say... the bucatini shrimp ... chefs kiss! The shrimp dish had a sauce that had a little kick to it but it was not over powering. It was so good that I asked for more bread to soak up the sauce! Amazing dish!

My cousins and I took a girls trip for a birthday party and had a great time! Food was delicious, ambience was nice, and it wasn't packed so it was perfect! Waiter was super friendly! The French fries are to die for! I got the New York strip steak and it was phenomenal. Super juicy and full of flavor! Nice place for brunch. Our party had bottomless Mimosa, Americano & Passion Fruit Spritz. The place is well kept, food are good, the server gave a free banana bread + ice cream for Birthday girl! Service was nice as well. read more
I have been here twice later in the evening following a recurring event I attend nearby. The ambiance just drips with midcentury modern class so go for the vibes alone. The menu when I have gone has been a bit limited and I am pretty sureI am getting the bar menu when I go but the dinner menu on the website isn't huge either. The food is elegant and tasty enough but not mind-blowing, a lot of one note mild flavor- it is really the overall experience you are coming for, and cocktails here are quite good. So come for cocktails, IMO, eat food as needed. The first night I went my bartender blew me away with how old school, doting and elegant his service was. The second time I went service was eh, fine. Never bad. My first time I ordered a cesar and added grilled shrimp. Shrimp was pricey for the portion but butterflies and nicely cooked. Salad was a little too creamy and not zesty as I would have liked - I suspect it lacked anchovie and/or parmesan. But it was fine and the lettuce was crisp. I also got the banana bread which was kind of meh. More like a burned cake than a succulent banana bread. My second time I got the pasta chitara. Huge win for the four of us in the world who have a basil allergy because this was a rare red sauce without basil, and I will say service staff was great about handling my multiple dietary restrictions. However I did find the pasta a bit one note - it is intentionally smokey, which I love, but I felt like that kind of took over. The noodles themselves were nice. I followed up with an affogato which was deconstructed and therefore tactile and fun. I like it here. Like I said I come for cocktails and vibes and then will eat food if I'm hungry but that isn't the main draw. Recommend, therefore, for happy hour or late night drinks. Definitely a sexy spot for a drink or to work on your beat-inspired novel. read more

Lyle's for brunch is an absolute yes, dinner is a maybe. Wasn't crazy about any food item except the Brussels sprouts. The short rib entree was super underwhelming. Cocktails were refreshing. Ambiance is always a 10, great mood lighting. read more

I visited Lyle's with a friend and I have all the details! So let's get into it. First, the ambiance is very cozy, very romantic. Think dimly lit, quiet, smooth vibes. That being said, if you like to take pictures be sure to take them before you come, as flash cameras are not allowed. But very nice, clean, and aesthetically pleasing! Now, the service. I have to say I was a bit disappointed here. I arrived about 15 minutes before my guest so I was initially there alone. I was seated immediately which was good and ordered a glass of Cabernet. Unfortunately, although nice, our server Ronald was not very attentive initially, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. He even told me eventually after I'd been waiting for a bit "oh, when your other person gets here, I'll be way more attentive . Don't worry" . I think he meant it as a joke but it was extremely off putting to me and sullied my experience somewhat. Next, let's get into the eats. Let me start by saying EVERYTHING was fantastic and perfectly seasoned. We had the cheddar biscuits and prosciutto to start off. The biscuits were flaky, fresh, and masterfully made. They were everything you would want in a starter. We were so happy yet not overly fully and it made us excited for the rest of the meal. I had the Cod, which came with squash and a salad. The Cod was flaky, seasoned well, and made with love. This was the BEST squash I've ever had. The presentation was top tier and the flavors all blended perfectly. The salad was fresh and tasty as well. My date had the chicken pot pie and a Caesar salad. I tasted a bite of both and I'm not exaggerating when I say this was the most pleasurable bite of food I've had in a long time. The pot pie crust was flaky, fresh, and crafted perfectly. It was a bit chilly outside and this made the PERFECT meal for dinner. My date could not stop raving about it. Run, don't walk and please go try this, it was absolutely incredible. The Caesar salad was fresh and perfectly put together as well. Overall, this food was outstanding. The service improved somewhat but the initial interaction left somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth. But if you're looking for good eats, definitely stop by ! You won't regret it. read more
One of my absolute favorite brunch spots in DC! Lyle's is always a good time - beautiful space with warm natural light, personable staff, delicious food, and great music (DJ during brunch on Saturdays/Sundays). Their brunch is full of classic dishes that can cater to any taste palette. My personal favorites are Shakshuka and the Lyle Cheeseburger (with yummy curly fries). They offer bottomless brunch drinks for an additional $28 - mimosas (with a variety of juices) and bloody mary's. read more
Lyle's is such a great place! W continue to come here again and again and love to bring our out of town guests here for Sunday brunch. I love that anyone can do the bottomless mimosas and if everyone at the table doesn't want to do it they don't have to. The service is always great. We had a party over 6 and from emailing to secure a reservation to the day of everything was constantly flowing in a smooth fashion. The music was great and added a lively feature for the group. No one had complaints about the food and loved everything. We will definitely be back. read more

Saw their "girl dinner" advertised all over instagram and was excited to try it out before the month ended! Unfortunately, there was no advertisement that this was only available at the bar - so we begrudgingly ordered from the regular menu. With an open style kitchen, we got a front row view of everything coming out of the kitchen - and it all looked delicious. We joked the burger looked like a crabby patty - almost fake looking it was so perfect! We were super impressed by the food quality - crab cake had a crispy exterior, curly fries cooked to perfection, and the crab Mac and cheese was the right amount of indulgent. The Brussels were not my favorite - barely a whisper of raisins or bacon, heavy on the pickled flavor. While the food was delicious, the service fell flat. Super slow, even while the dining room was not busy and there were multiple servers. We watched as our food was placed in the ready line and untouched for a long time so food got colder and ice cream melted. Our need for accommodations/sides were not met without follow up. Overall, I would like to come back as the food was excellent and the menu rotates. The vibes and decor were excellent, and this would definitely be a fun spot with a big group or even just for a drink. read more
Back at my favorite brunch spot this weekend! The service wasn't as great as I'm used to but the vibes were still high. There was some confusion with our reservation and we had to wait about 20 minutes before we could be seated. Once seated they told us we had to rush but then no one came over to us for a while. Once we got someone they'd let us know that last call had already passed so we couldn't do the bottomless option and that some of their food options were no longer available. Luckily for us the waiter made an accommodation and was able to bring us espresso martinis that were 10/10 absolutely delicious. I got the burger for the first time and it was pretty good. I still stand by the short rib hash--it's even better. Moral of the story get a reservation for like 12 pm to ensure you have enough time and are not rushed. Brunch ends at 3 pm. Went for Sunday brunch with the girlies. We had a time! DJ Coco Spinelle was on the 1s and 2s-she hit it out of the park and had us grooving!enjoyed the bites and the entrees-I had chicken and waffles which was delicious and I recommend a little berry sauce on the side to really set it off. Others at the table had steak and eggs, the monkey bread and short rib hash and everyone seemed to enjoy! The service was a bit spotty-difficult to find my waiter and no one assisted despite me even stopping someone to inquire. They also mixed up our orders. But the ambiance and food saves the day so I'll be back! read more

Came with my girlies for brunch - had a great time! The space is very pretty; clean, modern, and cozy. Love the color combo in here too! They had a live DJ which is always cool. We started with two brioche donuts because it was that delicious. It came with a wildberry jam that was really delicious! I had the short rib hash that was fantastic! great flavor, the short rib was so tender, and the serving size was perfect. Marcus was so kind and sent over waffles for us to have as well. Good waffles, but needed more of the sauce! Overall great experience! Definitely need to come back because their dinner menu looks great! read more
Having a drink and some crab cakes before we go up to the room. Fatima, our bartender, was friendly and attentive. Her drinks were great(according) to my wife and I had two glasses of red wine that were fresh with no signs of oxidation. The crab cake was tasty and was gone in a minute. Delicious! read more
Came for a noon reservation on a Saturday and after being a few minutes late, we were seated immediately. Our waiter was great, coming back often enough to ensure we were taken care of but not too often where it felt overbearing. We went with steak and eggs, the burger, french toast to share, sangria, and bottomless mimosas. Everything was great -- steak and eggs both cooked perfectly, no sauce or extra seasoning needed (chimichurri was just enough), french toast was very good with both the strawberries and whipped cream, and the burger was cooked/seasoned just to my liking. The french toast can get soggy, but even then was still great. I enjoyed the ambiance a lot; the DJ was playing a nice mix of throwbacks and new music of all genres and the music wasn't too loud and he wasn't on a mic which was great. It did get very loud by the end of our meal once the restaurant was full, which can't really be helped unless more space is added, but I will definitely be back. read more

Came here with some friends for their girl dinner. It's an absolutely amazing idea. It comes with a Caesar salad, fries and martini. They really load up the fry baskets so it was filling. Finished with desserts, loved them all but by far the Apple desert was the best. read more

I love finding new lowkey spots and this has just been added to my list. I visited Lyle's for a birthday brunch this past Saturday and had a grand time! It was a pre-fixe menu that includes bottomless mimosas. I was a little early for our reservation so I waited at the bar and ordered an espresso martini while I waited which was delicious! Once everyone arrived we were seated in the back where they have a nice private dining room. Our servers were very attentive and the food was very good. At first the hash brown threw me off but it tasted great so I had no complaints. I've heard great things about the curly fries and Caesar salad so I definitely want to come back and try those items. read more
