The food was delicious, ambiance even better and service the best. Stopped in here for brunch with a 1PM reservation on a Saturday. Party of three. We opted for bottomless mimosas (pineapple and cranberry). Our waitress(es) were a delight and attentive - Shoutout to DeLo! My two friends opted for the breakfast burrito while I had steak and eggs. The potatoes were seasoned well and the steak was cooked to my preferred doneness. Since it's a bistro they did not have steak sauce - however they offered me other options which included a mushroom gravy type sauce which paired so well with the steak. I would return just for that combination. I didn't see too many reviews for brunch so I wanted to provide some pictures for that. It's a small space with cute esthetic. It reminds me of a nice remote working coffee shop vibe. I cannot wait to return!

Our server was very kind, service/food was a bit slow this day, as only one cook in the kitchen but he was very communicative and did a good job. I enjoyed my burger and fruit! Some of the other guest did not quite rave about their food options but I'd definitely come back to see and try their dinner atmosphere
Celebrating my sister's birthday at this brunch spot. We were a party of 9. There was only one chef so the wait for food was pretty lengthy but he was very sweet and apologetic about it. The general consensus of the group was that the food was decent, it was just disappointing how long it took and how all parts of your meal came out at different times. I ordered the Classic French toast which I enjoyed the taste however it was bit on the charred side, which I think was due to the chef rushing. The latte was enjoyable and I'd recommend getting one if you're a coffee drinker, it's not on the sweet side just fyi. The side of fruit is very fresh as well. There's old school disco groovy jams playing in the background which adds to the ambiance.

Stopped by for a quick after work happy hour drink. The staff is friendly and quick to provide service. The truffle fries are a tad bit salty but crispy and full of flavor. The Happy Hour Drink prices are great and have a good variety of spirit offerings and good combinations. The inner space of the full restaurant aside from the bar is nice and quaint with a ton of architectural character. I'm excited to return for either brunch or dinner.

The portion size can be underwhelming for the carbonara menu item, but boy was it delicious. The pork chops had a nice char on it and came with Parmesan fries. I was skeptical about the apple sauce but it worked out really well. The ambiance on the first floor is lovely and has a great sense of class and sophistication, my favorite being the wine wall. Service was great and I never felt like I had to flag someone for help. We were well taken care of by a dude with glasses (cannot remember his name) that worked around 7pm on Sep 27th. He had great insight on which items would live up to our expectations - it's always a plus when restaurant staff can advise their customers after having tasted a variety of things that are sold.
It's H Street. There are a lot of options. Still, Cynthia's is stunning. How is this place not packed? Im obsessed with their frites, can definitely recommend the mussels, Gruyère croquettes, and lemon-ricotta gnocchi.
Great spot with amazing bartenders and service! We only went for a drink but the whole place was warm and inviting! We even got a free dish the chef was trying out! Would love to come back to try their food menu.

I visited Cynthia for brunch with a group of friends on a Saturday at 1pm. When we arrived we were seated right away. I loved the floor to ceiling exposed brick, hanging plants and abstract art. The restaurant has about 10 tables and a bar for approximately 8 on the bottom floor and about 6 tables on the second floor. We were seated on the first floor at a half booth/table with a street view and our server Nick came right over. Most of the table went with the bottomless mimosa option while I chose a prosecco. For food 3/4 chose the hot honey chicken and waffles and one person chose the eggs Benedict and bottomless bacon. I also ordered a side of eggs with cheese. Everything came out within 15 minutes and it was perfection. The fired chicken was smothered in Siracha and it was fried until it was golden and crispy. The waffle came with hot honey and was absolutely amazing. The bacon was fresh hot and just like what in the world ... bottomless!!!! The service was attentive, friendly and really made us feel at home. We stayed and chatted well after we finished eating a few girls even ordered coffee. I will definitely be back for dinner sometime soon. I highly recommend Cynthia if you are looking to try Brunch or Dinner in the area!
Came with a group of old coworkers. Very clean and nicely designed interior. I had the Smoke Singles mezcal cocktail and it was so good, I got two. I ordered the chicken entree which came with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Our waitress was lovely and super accommodating. I'll def come back!

A friend and I were in the area and were looking for a place to eat and wait out the storm. We found Cynthia just in time to avoid the down pour. As soon as we walked in we were blown away by the beautiful interior with the exposed brick and high ceiling. It truly felt like a bistro in the country side with all the plants hanging from the ceiling. The hostess was warm and friendly as she led us to our table. She was also our server which was a nice surprise. She was very patient and had great recommendations on menu items we should try. To start we got our drink orders in. I ordered the French 75 which was delicious and had a fried lemon wheel which was a nice touch. As an appetizer we ordered the hush puppies and let me tell you as a true southern woman from SC these were the best hush puppies I've ever had. They were hot, fresh and obviously made in house. The remoulade sauce on top along with the whipped honey butter balanced perfectly together for a delicious sweet and savory flavor. For my entree I ordered the steak frites. When I tell you this was the star of the evening please believe me. I love a good medium steak and this steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender and super flavorful. The peppercorn mushroom sauce on top took it to another level. I'm not even a mushroom fan but I absolutely would drink a bowl of that sauce lol. The chef, Joe, delivered our dishes to the table personally which I thought was so kind. He even chatted with us for a bit and made sure we enjoyed our meals. Overall, we both really enjoyed our dining experience at Cynthia and will definitely be back for brunch very soon. read more

We finally got ourselves out of the house and to a Sunday brunch. And it was a good one too. Reservations seemed like a must given the small-ish size of this spot. But we were able to snag a reservation morning of. It's a super cute spot. Feels like you're inside someone's house almost. It's on the smaller side, but it's got a bright and clean aesthetic. It gives some Instagram-able vibes. Our server was good, despite it seeming like she was both making all the drinks and servicing all of the tables downstairs (a lot for one person). The menu has a good mix of sweet and savory options, breakfast items and more lunch-like items. There were also a couple of specials. A good amount of choices, but not an overwhelming amount (the just right amount). I opted for the eggs benedict, which was quite tasty. Perfectly poached eggs and crispy bacon with a delicious old bay hollandaise sauce. And it was very filling. The espresso martini was great. The Bloody Mary was a big disappointment. They also offer bottomless mimosas and bottomless bacon. All in all, a nice experience. I'm looking forward to coming back here for happy hour and/or dinner. read more

Have been back 3x since my first review for 2 birthdays and a double date. It's just the perfect place!! Good for brunch with mom and date night :) On my most recent visit for my mom's birthday, Taylor helped us and she was amazing. It's also fun that the owner always seems to be around. read more
Super cozy 2 story restraint right on the corner of H St. Phil, our server, was working all alone on a relatively busy night - he acted as host, bar tender, server, food runner, table busser, and waiter. Despite his many hats and tables, he was cool calm be collected and did a great job at enhancing our experience, giving great recommendations, checking in, and putting on a show at the bar. I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts, that were perfectly tossed in hot honey. The burger was beyond good, perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious spiced tomato jam. Would love to come back and try another seasonal menu. This place seems to be an underrated gem in my opinion! read more
such a sweet little spot on H street - I love the exposed brick, little bar, and loft style second floor. very clean and decorated with lovely plants - table of 3 came for a happy hour on Thursday. seated immediately wherever we wanted! there is a bar, normal tables, and booth tables. our waitress was very attentive and by the end was bantering with us! - the owner was wandering around and talking to tables! he was seeking advice and thoughts on the restaurant and h street scene. this is the beauty of a real local spot!!! you don't see the owners or chefs at big restaurant group spots (you know who I'm talking about...) - the drinks were great! the seasonal shrub came in strawberry and orange, a light fruity drink, not too sweet at all. definitely varied in strength each time we ordered, first one really didn't taste like much but then they seemed to get the alcohol right ! - the margarita can be with tequila or mezcal which was great. the happy hour fries come on a huge plate with a fun pesto-like sauce. the fries were soooo crispy, similar to what you'd get at a French bistro. - hoping this place gains a cult following and stays around. it used to be irregardless! read more

Went for brunch and it was really good! I ordered the prosciutto benedict and I enjoyed it. One of my eggs had a bit of egg shells in it which I didn't really like but the hollandaise sauce was good. My boyfriend got the blueberry and bourbon french toast and that was delicious. I wanted to do the bottomless bacon but $20 for bacon seems a bit pricey to me. I did get just a regular side of bacon for $7 and that was good. Still overpriced to me. Service was excellent. My server came by often to make sure I was good frequently. Was walking by and happened to glance over and see a warm, welcoming little bistro decorated for the holidays. Ended up going inside and sitting at the bar for happy hour. Bar tender was very kind and the food was excellent. Happy hour prices were fabulous and included snacks as well as meals. My new favorite spot in town! I will definitely be coming back and recommending to all my friends. read more

Lovely neighborhood spot with excellent creative food, friendly service, and a great bar selection. Prices are solid ($22-32 for entrees). Happy hour is M-F with some great selections, including cocktails, wine, beer, small plates, and a burger. I had the gazpacho, Brussels sprouts, and burrata. Definitely coming back for the pasta - hear it's amazing. Place is family friendly if that's important but also a great spot for date night or a casual dinner. read more
On the west side of H Street NE in the former space of a French restaurant is Irregardless, a two-level restaurant and wine bar serving seasonal plates and wine from Virginia (and beyond). The owners met at University of Virginia's law school and are passionate about bringing Virginian wine to the District. My buddy and I stopped by for drinks on a Tuesday evening. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks only. The bartender was very cool and knows her wines, cocktails and beers. She made my friend an excellent negroni. Their wine is on the drier side, but I loved Early Mountain Vineyard's white. Their hard cider with plums was dry, but excellent as well. I can't wait to return for dinner! read more
We had a lovely dinner here last night. The setting is a big plus. It feels very open & very classy. The plants hanging over our heads, where we were sitting, added a sense of closeness to nature + the paintings on the walls gave a sense of sophistication. We started our meal by sharing an order of brussel sprouts. They were very flavorful & tasty, & the portion was huge. My husband had the beef pasta dish for his entree & was very happy with it. I had the lamb belly special, which I loved. It had a strong charred flavor that I liked very much. It came with carrots & a creamy sauce. Yum! We also had chocolate mousse for dessert. My only disappointment was that they didn't have any draft beer. Yeh, this is probably a minor point, but I would have loved a cold draft beer with my meal. We plan to head back here soon! read more

When I tell you I have never had better service in my LIFE! It was spectacular! My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and we were met with the sweetest, most genuine people ever. The owner came and was cracking jokes with us, the servers were too-- cannot stress enough how welcome they make you feel. Also, I always choose restaurants for the aesthetic, but even with the amazing ambiance, the food was delicious! Do yourself a favor and order the Brussels Sprouts. I am never one to reach for them anywhere else, but man they're amazing. Also the pesto pasta is a great order. If you're ever in DC/haven't gone here yet, please go!!!! Worth every $$$ read more

Ok, I'm not going to lie, I already didn't love it because of the name...and I know they knew what they were doing but I still don't love it haha, but I finally went to check it out and I am not a fan. The best way I can describe this place is that it must be haunted by cats. You know when there's a place that's been flipped...and it's all bougie, but you knew what it was like before that?? It's kind of like that but with cats...like it's in the ventilation. You can smell it. Anyways, haunted cats aside, we each got a drink, an entrée, and we shared one appetizer and our bill was $130 and we left hungry...so, I would never go back there. Service was good, and there was only one other couple in there on a Tuesday night, so the food came out almost immediately, but we should have just eaten somewhere else. read more

I really wanted to love this place, but it just missed the mark for me. Maybe we came too close to their opening and the kinks had not been worked out yet, but for a $300 meal, I wanted more of an experience and I left pretty dissatisfied with the overall dining experience. We did the tasting menu and from start to finish, my table was there for just over 3 hours. The time between the courses were inconsistent and we were often waiting long after we finished our previous course to get the next one. We were seated about 20 minutes late, which they did apologize for and even gave us a glass of prosecco while we waited. They did bring me the wrong drink and fixed it immediately without ay questions. I did appreciate that. The food was delicious, but in my opinion, nothing to return for for the price. read more

I ventured out to Irregardless with a close friend to try their Winter Tasting Menú! Needless to say, Irregardless hit the spot on all marks. The server was joyful, made us feel welcomed and spoke clearly and confidently when it came to the menu options. The restaurant felt like you were in an intimate cafe where sound didn't travel far. Though we were close to other patrons, it was not loud and conversation was easy to have. The food was delicious. Every course was solid when it came to quality of flavor, quantity of food, and timeliness of arrival to the table. The lamb ragú and the short rib were so perfect prepared that I would go for just those. The dessert was good, but not amazing, which is ok. The cheesecake would've been better cold in my opinion. The wine pairing for this meal was great except for the dessert wine (which was disgustingly sweet) and the wine paired with the short rib. I would say that the red wine that came with the short rib was the worst red I've ever drank sadly. Without the pairing disasters, I would rate Irregardless and 9.2/10. With the pairing, I would give them an 8.5! read more
