Very cute space tucked on h st. Service and staff was attentive and friendly. The food was good. Will definitely check them out again.

Came to Cynthia's for a Saturday brunch to celebrate my sister's birthday. Very nice upstairs and downstairs space, very quaint and warm atmosphere! Our server was very kind, service/food was a bit slow this day, as only one cook in the kitchen but he was very communicative and did a good job. I enjoyed my burger and fruit! Some of the other guest did not quite rave about their food options but I'd definitely come back to see and try their dinner atmosphere

Have been back 3x since my first review for 2 birthdays and a double date. It's just the perfect place!! Good for brunch with mom and date night :) On my most recent visit for my mom's birthday, Taylor helped us and she was amazing. It's also fun that the owner always seems to be around.

Celebrating my sister's birthday at this brunch spot. We were a party of 9. There was only one chef so the wait for food was pretty lengthy but he was very sweet and apologetic about it. The general consensus of the group was that the food was decent, it was just disappointing how long it took and how all parts of your meal came out at different times. I ordered the Classic French toast which I enjoyed the taste however it was bit on the charred side, which I think was due to the chef rushing. The latte was enjoyable and I'd recommend getting one if you're a coffee drinker, it's not on the sweet side just fyi. The side of fruit is very fresh as well. There's old school disco groovy jams playing in the background which adds to the ambiance.

We came here for a birthday brunch. We sat upstairs and had a more private seating, which was nice. Overall the place isn't big, the music is quiet and it's great for talking with friends. The food was very tasty. There was only one chef while we were dining (he came out to tell us this). Because of this, the food came out sporadically for our party of 9. And it did take a while to get the food. People in my party complained that the pancakes & French toast tasted burnt. Our service was very nice considering the size of our party. Overall, the food was good, but there was room for improvement in the overall experience.

Stopped by for a quick after work happy hour drink. The staff is friendly and quick to provide service. The truffle fries are a tad bit salty but crispy and full of flavor. The Happy Hour Drink prices are great and have a good variety of spirit offerings and good combinations. The inner space of the full restaurant aside from the bar is nice and quaint with a ton of architectural character. I'm excited to return for either brunch or dinner.

Before we ordered, we were told that new menu items were added recently, so that was exciting, as I'm always enticed by newly added food. The portion size can be underwhelming for the carbonara menu item, but boy was it delicious. The pork chops had a nice char on it and came with Parmesan fries. I was skeptical about the apple sauce but it worked out really well. The ambiance on the first floor is lovely and has a great sense of class and sophistication, my favorite being the wine wall. Service was great and I never felt like I had to flag someone for help. We were well taken care of by a dude with glasses (cannot remember his name) that worked around 7pm on Sep 27th. He had great insight on which items would live up to our expectations - it's always a plus when restaurant staff can advise their customers after having tasted a variety of things that are sold.

It's H Street. There are a lot of options. Still, Cynthia's is stunning. How is this place not packed? Im obsessed with their frites, can definitely recommend the mussels, Gruyère croquettes, and lemon-ricotta gnocchi.

Great spot with amazing bartenders and service! We only went for a drink but the whole place was warm and inviting! We even got a free dish the chef was trying out! Would love to come back to try their food menu.

Really nice ambiance and the bartenders were friendly. I got the happy hour burger, which was okay. A little saltier than I'd hope but less than $20.

I visited Cynthia for brunch with a group of friends on a Saturday at 1pm. When we arrived we were seated right away. I loved the floor to ceiling exposed brick, hanging plants and abstract art. The restaurant has about 10 tables and a bar for approximately 8 on the bottom floor and about 6 tables on the second floor. We were seated on the first floor at a half booth/table with a street view and our server Nick came right over. Most of the table went with the bottomless mimosa option while I chose a prosecco. For food 3/4 chose the hot honey chicken and waffles and one person chose the eggs Benedict and bottomless bacon. I also ordered a side of eggs with cheese. Everything came out within 15 minutes and it was perfection. The fired chicken was smothered in Siracha and it was fried until it was golden and crispy. The waffle came with hot honey and was absolutely amazing. The bacon was fresh hot and just like what in the world ... bottomless!!!! The service was attentive, friendly and really made us feel at home. We stayed and chatted well after we finished eating a few girls even ordered coffee. I will definitely be back for dinner sometime soon. I highly recommend Cynthia if you are looking to try Brunch or Dinner in the area!

The place was pretty packed with everything from business to a bridal shower party. I really enjoyed how simple and inviting the place was for conversation. Being with other co-workers, I didn't want that place that I was screaming over everyone to have a conversation. More importantly, it wasn't that 20 year old vibe of being 4 deep at a bar begging for a drink. It was an elevated crowd that wanted a drink after work or a place to decompress. Oddly enough, there was even a guy there who whipped his laptop out to work while drinking and eat at the bar. Kinda different but hey, to each their own. Overall, this was a total win for me as it was still a weekday and exactly what I was looking for. Service at the bar was spot on and overall a secret win that Yelp help guide me towards. It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

However, the experience started on a rough note. When checking in at the Marriott, the front desk agent was quite rude and incorrectly insisted the restaurant was already closed. The African American guy behind the counter definitely needs some etiquette lessons or at least needs to be trained if he is supposed to be the face of Marriott Capitol Hill. Fortunately, we went up to the rooftop anyway. They seemed short-staffed, but the bartender stepped in to serve us and was absolutely wonderful. Lighting could be better, IMO it's a little too dark for my liking. The food was also a bit hit-or-miss. The sweet chili shrimp appetizer was fabulous, hot, and featured a great portion size. For the entree, I had the Trout a lo Macho. The presentation was beautiful and it arrived piping hot, but unfortunately, the mussels were not cleaned properly and still had dirt in them. For the price, the food could have been a bit more polished, though the portions were appropriate. Pros: Great rooftop views, excellent bartender service, and reasonable on-site parking ($8/hr or $12 for 2 hours, which is great for DC).
