Got the mango and the tinja taco but thought they were just okay. Didn't like the tortilla texture but it's a vibe here. A bit loud and heard the drinks here were pretty good and strong.

Mission food is very consistent- some food is really good and others can be bland. The carnitas quesadilla is amazing, and the carnitas is probably the best flavored of their meat options. The queso is not the best I've ever had but it does the job and great portion size to split with friends. The ancho aioli that comes with the quesadilla is also amazing. The birria was also pretty decent- nothing spectacular but definitely a solid Birria (kinda similar to Trader Joe's birria lol). If you can, make a reservation the day before, they're usually available for outside until a few hours before your dining time, and it's hard to get a table without a long wait otherwise. The vibes and community are wonderful so definitely recommend as a place to spend an evening outside dinner with

I had a really great time here during happy hour! We sat outside because it was a beautiful spring day. The happy hour deals were awesome- I got a Paloma for $9.50. I love that they asked what I'd like on the rim. The drink was delicious and not too sweet. For dinner I got the happy hour nachos which were only $10. As others have said it's more Tex Mex or Mexican American but good nachos are good nachos! My friend got the enchiladas which they said were amazing. Service was excellent- they were quick to bring everything and our server was really nice. It looked like rain and they were proactive about moving people inside, closing out checks, and bringing out umbrellas. We had a great time!

My sister was in town and we decided to hit the Phillips collection for the Mucha exhibit. I had seen it before but she really liked it. The museum was busy, no real surprise on a nice saturday. The weather forecast was rain but it was sunny and nice with a breeze. After the exhibit we were hungry. Compliments only had a line that was out the door and down the block. I'm glad they're busy. My sister doesn't eat meat so we had to move tom another place to grab a bite. We decided on Mission right near the train stop. With the heat and humidity inside was where we sat. Small table near a window. The place is busy inside and out. After a bit the waitress ( I think her name was Emily) came over and Erica ordered a watermelon margarita and I ordered a Pacifico. The menu is pretty big for a small restaurant. So many choices. I decide on the chicken tingo tacos x 2. She decided on the guacamole toast. The music is cranking, like on 10 for some reason. We can barely hear each other talk. My only real complaint about the lunch visit. After a bit the food arrives and the tacos are tasty. In ordered without cilantro (bothers my stomach, like throw up bother). The chicken is spicy and good. Fresh fixings for the taco toppings. Erica likes the guacamole toast, commenting the freshness of the guac plus the generous toppings. It looked small but covered the plate. The beer is cold and margarita is tasty, I had a sip. Definitely a spot to visit if you happen to be in Dupont Circle and feel like Mexican. Many options on the menu, brunch looked good with a large variety of taco choices. I believe they have happy hour during the week if you're thirsty or have some people with you and it's time to celebrate something.

Came here for happy hour and ordered the chicken roll ups. They were only $10 for happy hour and were very yummy! We sat outside and it was a good ambience surrounded by others on a beautiful day in the middle of the city. It's right across from the metro station so it was an easy trip.

First time here. We ordered chips and queso and out of the gate it is a hard Pass I ordered 2 mushroom tacos absolutely no flavor. My husband got 2 chicken Tinga tacos and dry and gross. Bottom line total MISS very generic! If I were you keep on walking!

Quintessential gringo Mexican restaurant in a great location, near the DuPont circle metro station. On a nice day, there is good outdoor seating. The food is simple but good, the drinks are stiff and there's a good selection. Everything is good but nothing except for the location stands out, hence the 4 stars. It's pricey and the service is ok. I think it's best for casual dates, evenings out with friends or co workers.

We just went in for some drinks and appetizers. We were going to sit at the bar, but there was a party going on so it was super loud, so we asked the hostesses if we could sit in an empty dining room, and they happily accommodated us. Andrew was our server and he was super friendly. The guy who was assisting him (didn't catch his name) was also very friendly and helpful! I got a mission margarita and my husband got a Pacifico. We ordered the Tres Amigos (guacamole, salsa roja, and salsa verde) and an In Queso Emergency. Guac and salsas were good and the chips were fresh and crispy. I wasn't the biggest fan of the queso...it wasn't bad, but it was too "TexMex" for my liking. My margarita was great...and yes, I ordered a second!! Then we ordered a couple tacos...husband got a couple arrachera steak tacos, and I got a Baja fish taco. Both were great. We also ordered a couple of Don Julio shots chilled and those came as generous pours with good size lime slices. Overall, it was a great visit and we'll be happy to return someday! We didn't sit outside, but if you're into that scene, it looked like a great place to eat and people watch!

Mission offers a pretty solid brunch! The boozy brunch is affordable, and the food is good! The servers keep the drinks flowing. It is always a bit chaotic in there on the weekend, but it is a great place to pregame some bar hopping in Dupont. This restaurant/bar caters to a younger DC crowd. It gets rowdy.

It's a sexy basement vinyl den with additional outdoor seating, 10/10 unique cocktails, and incredible Japanese inspired small plates. Between two visits, we have tried 6 different drinks. They are named after songs and listed on the back of a fake vinyl cover. Each costs around $20, but with the mandatory tip and tax, it comes to around $26-28 per drink. The since I left you, though, is worth every penny. It is similar to an old fashioned but a little sweeter, with bourbon (makers mark), and while the menu says it also has miso, blackberry, cardamom, and cacao, I wouldn't say those flavors come through. But it is one of the best cocktails being served in DC right now. It is so good. They serve it with a cardamom tuile that is delicious as well. There is a lot of variety on here, but my number 2 is the Roses, a bright red gin based drink with a hint of fruitiness and a spicy kick in the back end. If you want something a little sweeter, the Takeover is a cognac based drink with coffee notes served with a mini donut. The food is exceptionally well seasoned and so flavorful. The fried chicken cannot be missed, and I love that you can get it in half or full size portions. The shrimp tempura might be even better. You get four large pieces that are super crisp and have a little orange sauce on them. Amazing. Our second visit we tried their chips and dip, and these potato chips alone are worth a visit. Large, crunchy, and served with a tasty ranch dip. I think 2 dishes is good for two people to fill you up, but add a third if hungry. The place is quite expensive, but they are worth it. For a date night, they are a great choice. Four drinks and three dishes shared between two people came to around $195, but as of this review, they are offering a $30 off deal if you pay through the app In Kind. Bonus points because the first time we came, they seated us maybe 5 minutes after our reservation time, and they gave us a free glass of cava. Top notch customer service right there

This bar is sweet -- awesome music, a neat menu, truly craft cocktails, and a unique menu. We tried several cocktails and each was delicious - from spicy to sweet, they don't miss. We also tried the cheese burger egg rolls and the tuna hand roll. The food is expensive for what you get but it's advertised to be small bites, not a meal. The egg rolls felt like remixed in n out, and as a Californian, I was grateful. Why not 5 stars? With the premium pricetag, I do expect premium service. The bartender was more interested in chatting with some folks he knew who came to sit at the bar. He also spent a lot of time chatting up the couple next to us, so do sit at the bar if you're feeling social. However, for the spare attention he did provide us, he was a bit condescending when we asked for a different glass for a drink that came in a bowl. It was slow until the very end of our stay and yet there were several times where I had an empty glass for a long period (and wanted to order more) or needed water. FYI for 6 drinks and a few bar bites it was $165... we went for a cheap burger dinner afterwards!
