STK DC came through for Friday happy hour! A good friend and I stopped by after work, and it definitely did not disappoint. While I'm personally not a huge fan of STK for dinner, their happy hour and brunch menus are where they really shine. We grabbed seats at the bar, and the bartender was fantastic from start to finish. She was attentive, friendly, and took the time to ask what flavors and dishes we typically enjoy before making recommendations. Service like that always makes a difference. We started with the Castaway (a refreshing tequila cocktail) and an Old Fashioned before diving into the food. For bites, we ordered the short rib quesadilla , truffle fries , wagyu taco, tuna tartare taco , and wagyu meatballs. Everything was delicious, especially the truffle fries, which never disappoint. The short rib quesadilla was packed with flavor, and both tacos were excellent. My only critique would be the wagyu meatballs, which were good but could have used a little more seasoning. Also, $9 for a single taco feels a bit steep, even by DC standards. One of the unexpected highlights of the evening was the atmosphere. We ended up chatting with current and former employees who were hanging out at the bar. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, joking with us throughout the evening and even buying us a round of shots . Between the friendly crowd and the stellar bartending team, the experience felt much more personal than your typical chain steakhouse visit. The restaurant itself is much larger than I expected, with a spacious layout and a great-sized patio perfect for warmer weather. It's located inside a hotel where I've attended events before, but this was my first time visiting this STK location. If you're looking for a lively happy hour spot with solid cocktails, shareable bites, and great service, STK DC is worth a visit. Unfortunately, not impressed with this location. Having been to a handful of other STK locations I know the quality and service that is expected. This location is inside the Marriott Marquis and convention center. I came on my own after a meeting but for some odd reason I was sat at a huge table rather than a 2 top, talk about awkward. I asked to be moved which oddly seemed like a massive ask as the host has to be found which no one could. My food came out before I was moved which was frustrating because now it's getting cold. I order the side bread service which four small slices of rock hard toast came out that I can best described as large croutons. I order these items from the happy hour menu: The Wagyu tacos were delicious, but are about 2 inches big and the small slider is also good. Truffle fries are also very delicious but you get like 15 fries. Great flavor all but VERY light on portion. I forgot I ordered an old-fashioned drink and got through most my food until it finally came. Finally I had the baby Cesar salad which is on the starter side of the menu along with the croutons.....I mean bread. Cesar came with too much parmesan cheese, was very soggy and had frozen lettuce in the middle confirming this very well could have been made the day before. I was really disappointed with my experience at STK. Given the reputation and pricing, I expected much better. Our party ordered the burrata, fried rice, steak frites, oysters, steak tartare, tacos, tequila cocktails, and an espresso martini. Unfortunately, the only items we actually enjoyed were the tacos, the fried rice, and the drinks. The tequila cocktails and espresso martini were excellent and were easily the highlight of the evening. The food, however, was a major letdown. The burrata seemed old, was firm instead of creamy, and was served without any bread or crackers, which made the dish feel incomplete. The steak frites arrived cold and lacked flavor. The oysters were not enjoyable, and we waited an unusually long time for cocktail sauce, only to initially receive two containers of vinegar. The steak tartare was also disappointing and not something we could finish. While the bartenders did a good job keeping drinks flowing and were pleasant throughout the evening, the food service was extremely slow. We wanted to speak with a manager about our experience, but never had the opportunity. Even getting the check and paying the bill took far longer than it should have. This restaurant is inside the Marriott Marquis right by the Mt Vernon convention center so evening time brings in a lot of post work traffic. I went there for the happy hour since small bites were between $3 and $9. The food was delicious and I loved every thing we ordered. We got the tater tots ($3), short rib quesadilla ($6) which was extremely delicious, popcorn chicken ($9), and several cheeseburgers with fries ($12). The cheeseburgers come with chips but we wanted fries which were a $3 upgrade. I would've gotten chips if our server had informed us of the surcharge for fries since we didn't eat much of it at all (they were delicious though). The cheeseburgers were very good and I'd be down to come back for just the burgers. The cocktails were also $9 and we got the mojito and the strawberry guava gin drink, both were great. Happy hour here is such a vibe. First of all, it's hard to even find a happy hour in DC these days that's halfway decent and much less one that starts at 2:30 and is literally every day! I've been to this STK several times before but I came recently and was reminded of how great it is here. Yesterday I met up with some friends and everyone was really impressed with the happy hour deals and the service provided by the entire staff, but in particularly Dione and Brandon. Kudos to them! We were promptly seated for our reservation, though there is a lot of emphasis on mandatory steps in order to dine there. No ordering entrees until everybody in the party is seated and no complimentary bread until entrees are ordered. Bread was okay, nothing addictive about it like most places with complimentary bread. My lamb chops were all well done instead of medium well and the mashed were good, but not for $21. Paying for a half scoop of butter that barely enhances the meal is questionable. I did enjoy the unchained passion drink -- very sweet! Our waiter, Dylan, was attentive and was good at giving descriptions and recommendations. My good girlfriend decided to have her birthday dinner here. I've been to the DC location for the first time recently and had a great experience, so I was excited to go again. My first time ever visiting STK was the LA location back in 2021... I say all of this to say, I've been on their mailing list for quite a while; whether it was from 2021 or my recent visit in February 2026. My friend's dinner was set for April 3, and ironically, I received an email from STK the morning of offering a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree. I showed the server the email (which it instructs me to) to verify that the appetizer would be honored- he said yes. I also verified that their seasonal menu that included a crab fondue appetizer would be honored- he said yes. So I ordered the crab fondue. I also ordered a filet, cooked medium. The fondue was a 6/10, but I wasn't bothered since it would later be comped. My steak came out well done, which was saddening. I did not want to cause a scene at my friend's celebration so I kept quiet. When it came time to check out, I notice the fondue was on the bill. I alerted the server who admitted to forgetting to remove it, and he mentioned he had to go show his boss. He returned saying they could not honor the email I received due to the offer expiring (mind you, I received this email the morning of dinner). It's not the cost that disappointed me, but the principle. I would not have ordered the crab fondue appetizer that I really only ordered because it was a new item. Otherwise, the restaurant was nice, classy, not too loud. The drinks were excellent and the bread was LOVELY! There didn't seem to be a dress code. The server was. Sweetheart, although the incident with not honoring their promise and the overcooked steak left a major smear on my experience. After dining here with a friend, we both decided that it exceeded expectations for a restaurant inside a hotel. Walk inside the grand Marriott Marquis and go left. A neon sign directs you deep into a dimly-lit, but glowing restaurant with all the gimmicks from red bull statues to more neon lights. To feed two of us, we got the lobster mac and cheese, spring rolls, steak, asparagus, bread, shrimp scampi, butter cake, and more. What stood out are the steak with the wagyu butter, lobster mac and cheese, and the fun cloud butter cake. It comes out engulfed in cotton candy that the server lights on fire revealing the cake. My husband took me on a special date night to try out the STK restaurant. This beautiful resturant is in the Marriott hotel! Once walking into the restaurant, you're immediately greeted by the hostess stand where you will check-in for your reservation. Someone will escort you into the heart of the place where the ambiance is ready for a wonderful date night or outing with friends. Table is set with small candle the waiter will light once you arrive. The bread provided was soft and absolutely amazing! Our starter appetizer was the ceviche! Heyyyyyy!! We came on Veteran's Day to take advantage of the deal, and our friend wanted to try it. I have never been. Eric was our server and he was great! We were NOT in a rush and the place was busy! We packed our patience and honestly, anything we were looking for came right on time. See the pics for what we ordered. Everything was seasoned perfectly with no need for adjustments. I think the ONLY thing I was a little disappointed in was the size of the appetizers. Otherwise, I finished my main dish (IYKYK!). The layout is sleek and open, with just the right mix of energy and comfort, perfect whether you're catching up with friends, winding down after meetings, or flying solo at the bar. The drinks are always on point, especially that watermelon margarita. Seriously, it goes hard. The happy hour menu has a great variety of affordable bites, and everything I've tried has been solid. I appreciated the fact that you can order from the happy hour menu even at a table. We ordered a few drinks and appetizers from the happy hour menu. The meatballs was just okay. Definitely could have used some more seasoning. Someone got the jalapeños shrimp cocktail and she said you barely taste the jalapenos. I did the oysters so they were fine. For our main course me and my Fiance shared the 28oz porterhouse with Brussels and mashed potatoes. The steak was good. Could have came out warmer and a little bit more seasoning. We both had to use the sauce and for those that eat steaks know that a great steak don't need sauce. My friend got the lamb chops that she had to send back twice. So she ended up bringing it home. I've visited STK on a couple of occasions. Once for dinner and more recently for happy hour. I'll start with my review for dinner. STK has delicious steaks and great sides that really exceeded my expectations. I enjoy the wide variety of sauces and butters on the menu. They really add a little extra flavor that makes the already great steaks even more enjoyable. I give the dinner here a solid 5. I enjoyed the happy hour here as well. It was a great vibe; the music was great and the atmosphere was fun. I went on a Friday night, and the place was very busy. We were placed on a wait for about 20 minutes before we were able to be seated. I would recommend a reservation if planning to visit especially on a Friday evening. The happy hour menu has a large selection. However, the portion sizes are very small. It's designed for you to order a little of everything. We ordered around 10 items. I felt the happy hour food was fine, especially considering the low price point. The tastiest item on the HH menu was the STK* & Frites. Overall, I would rate the happy hour a 4. The value is good, but the quality of the HH food was really just okay. I would characterize STK as the fun steak house. Definitely worth a visit. read more

My son and I went to STK well in Washington DC for the UFC fights. We had never been to a five star steakhouse before and wanted to enjoy the experience. From the time that we entered and went to the bar for a pre-dinner drink. Jasmine, the bartender did a wonderful job of serving us spectacular drinks. And then we were escorted to our table where Mario did an amazing job of serving us. The Japanese A5 steak, the tomahawk steak and massive lobster tail. To say the least, it was outstanding and my surprise, the macaroni and cheese was superb who would've thought. And because we were celebrating my son's birthday as well he surprised us with a cotton candy dessert that had cake underneath, and he lit it on fire it was Almost magical. For a steakhouse, I expected a lot more attention to detail when it came to cooking the food properly. The only redeeming aspect of the meal was the drinks. they were the highlight of the experience, but honestly, that's not enough to make up for the poor quality of the food. The entire brunch felt extremely overpriced for the underwhelming quality. I would not return, especially considering how many other great brunch spots are available. The bread was tasty and soft with a nice herbed butter. Some preferred a crisp top to enhance the bread. Unfortunately many of us were unable to eat what we intended since they were sold out of the two core steak options in the restaurant week menu. Trying to think about how I want to write this review. I'm going to start by saying the general manager was nice and tried to make it better knowing they failed- admirable. So we were in town for our 57th National Convention. There was a total of 20,000+ people in the area. We arrived for lunch around 12:30pm and was told it would be about a 30 mins wait. We were okay with that. We were finally seated then the server told us that he would come back in 20 mins to take our order bc the kitchen was backed up and he was the ONLY server working. We were shocked. The regular manager came out and when one of the ladies asked about the timeline he said "it's not our fault it's 20k ppl in town". Okay! That was rude! Moving forward we order our food around 1:40pm and waited and waited. 2:30pm still no food. I flag the general manager and he said he understood my concerns and would send some appetizers to the table. We receive a bread bowl and waited again. Shortly after happy hour starts so we start ordering drinks I mean that's the least we can do. So now the general manager send us some Caesar salad to our table. We eat that. Mind you were are starving as we haven't eaten all day. The food finally comes out around 3:15pm. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich on brioche bun with fries. What did I get a small piece of fried chicken Ina. Sesame bun with chips and it didn't have cheese or bacon on the sandwich. I flag the general manager down and ask about my food. He gave me the look like I already know. I told him as long as we waited our food isn't even right. We were shocked! He takes it to the back and brings me another sandwich. Find out they are out of the brioche bun and Fries. He comps my meal. Others had similar problems. It was 5 of us! We were done! We just ordered appetizers on happy hour and drinks and were done. Never will I come back to this STK. never had issues in vegas or San Francisco. Wanted to check out STK's Happy Hour, as the prices were reasonable and they had a diverse menu. While I've loved the dinner there, I felt the happy hour was very blah. I had oysters that were just ok. The Wagyu Meatball was just ok as well and not hot at all. The calamari was so chewy, salty and I've never seen calamari that size. The STK and Frites weren't hot either and just ok. I think I will stick to the dinner. However, our waiter Johnny was great. Very attentive and dealt with all our questions.
