When a sibling is in town and offers to pay for a meal you make the trip. My brother spoke highly about Bourbon Steak and since he was in town invited me for dinner while he was visiting for work. The restaurant is in the lobby of a hotel. There's street parking and I believe valet but we found street parking fairly easily on a weekday. The ambiance is dim lit. Service was very attentive and seemed to pay attention to detail, announcing confirmations of no allergens within each dish brought to the table. Our water was filled regularly, suggestions were readily available to the many questions we had. I also thought it was a nice touch that your bagged items are taken off table and you are given a ticket without awkwardly taking up space while you maybe were still chatting or enjoying an after dinner drink or dessert. Quality of food was nice, can't recall the type of steak my brother tried I went with a ribeye and tried the octopus appetizer which was very tender. Consistent and delicious! I've been to a couple Bourbon Steak's and they never miss. The staff is always professional and attentive. The food is incredible. Always. We started with their bread, so good! And the tuna tartare and the French fry trio. All so good but my favorite is the truffle. We shared the rib cap which was cooked perfectly!! I mean look at that picture. One bite and I know I'm going to sleep good. Pair it with the sides, my go to is always the mashed potatoes. Can't go wrong with a meal from here. Service: We were right on time for our 8:15pm appointment, but a table wasn't ready for us. It was a Friday night, and they were packed. After standing just a minute or two, Katerina kindly escorted us to the outdoor patio to wait and graciously offered a free round of drinks. This is great service and why I don't mind paying for an expensive meal. Service in my mind matters just as much as the meal. Once we were seated, we had Pai (like Pie). He was funny, but still able to be personable. The level of service was great although I feel that the person filling water was a little pressed to keep up. Ambience: The outdoor patio was really nice. It was comfortably adorned with cushy chairs. Very upscale. Inside was more of the same. I Renner coming here a LONG time ago and it has been since updated. Very posh. Food: We had steaks and mine was delectable. I had the Delmonico, which is the prime rib basically. It's beautifully lit and the tables are very comfortable. We came for my wife's birthday. I love the fries and dipping sauces they bring to the table along with the buns - 3 types of fries, duck fat, old bay and sea salt and herb. The duck fat were the best. The tuna tartar was like butter and my wife and I shared it. I got the 6 oz hangar that was like a filet, with perfect amount of sea salt sprinkled around the plate. Leanna was our server and she was great and every recommendation she made was spot on. Their take on a Negroni was one of the best cocktails I ever had They add chocolate and some espresso-like concoction that isn't overpowering but really lifts the drink I had 2! I usually cook my shrimp more, but they were done well. My friend's $86 steak had too much gristle for the price. That was quite disappointing. The desert of beignets was generous. Definitely a dessert to share. There are six beignets. The beignets were not light and fluffy as they should be. The trio of sauces was delicious--milk chocolate pudding, crème brûlée, and a caramel sauce with scotch. I do not like scotch, but the scotch was hardly noticeable at all. The cocktails are always unique and special. I had been here before several times, but it had been a while so we thought we'd check it out again. It's a special place to visit. This place had absolutely wonderful food! We came here for dinner and they started us out with a French fry flight after we ordered some food. They even gave some specific fries for our vegetarian friends. They also gave us some break that tasted great! The rest of our friends had all kinds of wonderful food! I had the steak and shared the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. I didn't like the mashed potatoes only cause my stomach got upset from them later. I loved the mac and cheese though. Lastly, I got the smoked s'mores, which was great (obviously, expect a smoky flavor). The ambiance is low key and wonderful! You do have to dress up a bit but I enjoyed that a lot! The review was not horrible, but the fact that the manager emailed me in response to this review shows the high standards Bourbon Steak DC has. Our meal tonight was spectacular, both the food and the service. Our server, Danny, was 10/10. Extremely personable and knowledgeable about the menu. The captain, KB, was also great. Chef Luke came out to serve an in between course of soup on the house. Danny also surprised us with several other special dishes on the house. We were losing steam at the end of the meal and Andres (Manager) and KB delivered dessert to our room. Truly 5 star experience and one of the best meals we've ever had in DC. I always enjoy the bar at Bourbon Steak in Gtown. It's a very friendly atmosphere, fun cocktail menu, and a good bar menu. Nice setting along a wall of windows. Not cheap but a great place to grab a drink. Valet parking with validation is $30 until midnight. read more

It was a slow Monday night and they were so accommodating -- seating us a great table in the courtyard with a little more space. If you're looking for the burgers at four seasons, you should sit at the bar lounge. The menu is not the same at the restaurant. I made reservations and realized the restaurant did not have the burgers I wanted to order, but the hosts were accommodating and moved our seating back to the lounge, where it was more lively. Walking into the Four Seasons Steakhouse you get exactly what you're expecting. This is not a Keen's type experience you might get in NYC, and while Bourbon Steak is a chain, it's nothing like a Ruth Chris Steakhouse either. This is the showy Michael Mina concept you would expect at one of his steakhouses, and it does the job well. We got in late, around 9:45 pm without a reservation. We went to ask for a table and were initially denied one and told that we could eat at the bar. I assured the hostesses (of which there were 3) that we were just going to eat a steak and have a few drinks and we would not be long winded. They obliged us and took us to a table. We proceeded to order a Tomahawk Ribeye, a caesar salad, and then dine on the french fry and bread service, which were both interesting and good. The caesar salad wasn't bad but it wasn't special in any regards. It was just a caesar salad, as run of the mill as it can come. I was very fine with it. The steak was good, it didn't have that dry aged flavor that you might love, and it wasn't the juiciest best steak in the world. But for a 9:45 drop in at Bourbon Steak in Georgetown with a couple manhattans, it was a treat. We did not have desert and we were back on our merry way while the bar and restaurant were still crawling with people. Unlikely that I'll come back unless we need a late night steak, but this fulfilled a need and did so with good service, decent ambiance, and a great location. read more

In time for reservations, we were met with a great team starting at the host. Immediately seated, we were presented with a beverage menu by the sommelier. A more extensive digital menu via ipad is also available upon request. Having had cocktails prior, I settled for a nice pour of Hendry. Autumn Smoke came as a recommendation if you enjoy Mezcal. Smooth, warm, and clean. I loved it. Compliments of the chef our table was presented with trio of duck fat fries with trio sauces and the garlic rolls. Oh my, be easy on these! It was delicious and perfect for the wait. For starters, we enjoyed the endive salad and crab beignets. For the main course, the table selected the bone in cowboy ribeye and sides of whipped mash and crispy brussel sprouts. The main course arrived on time, temperature on point, and prepared to perfection. The sides were delightful. Our server Danwel was outstanding. He and the team that evening were phenomenal. Our glasses were never left empty, and everything tableside service was courteous, attentive, personable, and notably tops. Valet is available if you're not a guest or staying at the hotel. Our waiter, Adam, was cool, professional, and organized; however, I don't know if it was busy when we came but it took us closer to 2 hours to get our food after placing our orders, and when the food arrived it was lukewarm at best. When the birthday girl spoke to one of the managers about it, it was implied they could warm it up, what we assume would be a microwave. This place is pretty expensive, so to say you will warm it up was questionable. What I ordered *it is an Á la carte menu: The power of pink cocktail Steak (medium), came out medium well. Spinach - was ok Potatoes - tasted like baby food Sauce (you pay $10 for three - my favorites were the Bourbon Steak Sauce and Au Poivre. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the fries and bread that are provided to the table was good. Those rolls were hot, fresh, and soft. I give that a 10/10. I wanted to try the crab legs but thought I'd probably be full with the fries and two sides. Glad I didn't get them! My friend left with a doggie bag! We were seated promptly upon arrival. For the food: Complimentary truffle fries with a triple dipping are served along with bun style rolls. The fries with the garlic dipping sauces are on point. However, the rolls were hard on the outside and doughy on the inside and tasted like straight yeast. No flavor whatsoever on the rolls. I didn't order any appetizers. For the main course, I ordered the Ribcap (medium) with the baked potato and sweet/sour Brussels. The steak was cooked perfectly. However, the baked potato was weird and had a sweet taste to it, and the Brussels were not roasted or sauteed properly. They were still hard with a watery glaze on them. I had a New Zealand Pinot Noir with my meal, which complimented the steak very well. A friend ordered the cheesecake for dessert. It was pretty good for the bites I had. It had been awhile since I had dined at Bourbon Steak. So when a friend asked for me to make reservations for a last minute bday dinner I was happy to see that Bourbon Steak had availability on a busy Saturday night. Our server was incredibly nice and despite a few mix-ups with our order, she was extremely apologetic and so quick to remedy. She was also very thoughtful about ensuring that the bday girl had a candle on a dessert so that she could have a celebratory moment at the end of the meal. We loved the flights of complimentary truffle fries and delicious baked bread that was brought out as we waited for our appetizers. Honestly, I think we got a little too excited and filled up a bit more than intended on these. As for the food, it was not what I remembered. I ordered the octopus and it was tough and overly charred. I love octopus so much and am not too picky with it, so for me to leave any on the plate was uncommon. The lobster mac and cheese side we were sure would be a hit but found wasn't very flavorful and came out at room temperature . Also pretty rare for us to leave more than half of that uneaten and no one had any interest in taking the leftovers home. But the raw oysters and the brussel sprouts that we ordered were delicious! I'll definitely return, but this past visit was not really up to par. We really liked it. It just could be better. We both had steaks for our main. She had prime filet mug on, which she thought was great, though a bit over cooked. I had wagyu rib eye.
