So we were walking around and the crowd I'll just say wasn't the type I wanted to be around. Only one bar was open and the music was weird. So we decided to leave and when I asked the person who was taking the money what was going on tonight they said an event. Now, this event was not posted anywhere on their website or social media. Came to check out brunch here. Online, it shows a la carte options - when we walked in, we were told it was a Buffet Brunch only, $30 per person. We decided to stay and check it out, @1pm on a Sunday. Brunch is from 11a-4pm. There was only 1 other person for brunch, when we arrived. There was a DJ was that playing super loud music. Mostly rap music. The food was good. Fresh salad, fruit, meats etc. Unlimited mimosas was $25 per person. We could only order 1 flavor at a time, which there was about 8 flavors. They were good By 3pm, the place was more so filling up. What was crazy was at 4pm, the workers started breaking down the buffet-- quickly!! A group that had arrived @ 3 were caught off guard that brunch was ending. The workers did provide everyone with TAKE HOME Boxes, so we filled our boxes as fast as they were breaking it down lol Hookah guy arrived, think it was a total of $68. The space itself is super cute and casual, it's actually an axe throwing spot, though we didn't throw any axes. But there are plenty of areas to chill and play games like Jenga, plus other little games scattered around to keep the energy fun and relaxed. When we first got there, we sat at the bar and the bartenders were mid-celebration, taking shots, celebrating. We had to wait a bit, but the moment they wrapped up, one of them came over and said, "Since you had to wait, here's a shot on us." And honestly? Top-tier customer service if you ask me lol! The drinks were strong and delicious, and somewhere along the way, we ended up with two free appetizers. They have a signed up list off to the side. They also have pre-registration for artist who want the band to learn their original music before the show and do not charge them to learn it. If you are a musician, they allow you to play on set as well. They have had some amazing guest celebrity and national recording artist. They have hookah now. Our food arrived quickly, but drinks (2 shots, 1 Tropical Lemonade) took over an hour and a half which was a bit ridiculous. Throw Social is an entire VIBE! I was planning out a visit to D.C. last August and wanted to experience authentic go-go music. Many of the venues that were recommended to me were further out of the immediate D.C. area, which was a bit much for me as a solo traveler. Somehow I came across Throw Social and was made aware that they had live bands on the weekend. Going there was the best decision. I stopped by on a Friday night as they advertise live go-go bands specifically on that night. I arrived around 11:30pm and it was already bustling. In fact, a line had formed to get in. Admission is about $20 before 10pm and they accept cash or card. Upon walking in, I was thoroughly impressed. The venue is pretty big. There is a full service bar, stage and standing area, as well as cabanas for bottle service, and a whole area for games like jenga and ping pong. I purchased a drink and tried to find an area that I could post up and enjoy the music. The bar was very busy and the music was loud so it was a bit of an annoyance trying to tell the bartender what I wanted. Luckily, they have paper menus, so I pointed to my choice and she made it. I opted for the cucumber twist drink. It was refreshing and delicious. A bit sneaky though since it isn't strong. They also offer free tap water at the bar. Additionally, they serve food. There were a lot of great choices but unfortunately, I waited too late to request food and did not get a chance to try it out. In terms of the music, the live band was amazing! It seems they play in sets. I missed the first set however, they returned about 2 more times to play for a length of time. In-between that, the DJ would play a few tunes. The music had a lot of bass with a great groove. Lots of twerking going on as well and folks were cheering for more of the band. I loved it and it was exactly what I was looking for. In terms of service, it was limited to the bar. Pricing was decent, about $16 for my drink. The crowd was a mature mixture of what seemed to be late 20s to late 30s. It was packed but everyone seemed respectful of space. Overall, it was a great time. I can't wait to return and I'd definitely recommend to others. When I arrived around 3 they were still doing the brunch menu but they switched over at 4 to the dinner food. It was pretty easy getting a drink in the beginning as it wasn't too busy but it did take a while to get the bartenders attention when it got crowded but they tried to move through people as fast as they could. So I decided to have my birthday here, and wow I was so disappointed. The music was way too loud for the type of venue. How can you be social if no one can hear you? Putting in orders was near impossible, because our poor waitress was working both UPSTAIRS and DOWNSTAIRS. I felt bad for her and hope they learn to manage staffing better. Everyone was confused on staff. No one knew the menu or where orders were going. They were running a birthday special, so my friends ordered it for me. They had to fight to get my dessert and I believe I was charged for the drink that was meant to be free. There was no sparklers or sign. We were thankful to at least get the dessert like nearly an hour later. It was so stressful for something so simple. It was also hot. SO HOT. This place is NOT built for music performances at all. I was so excited to see the renaissance room orchestra play here and, for a ticketed event, was really surprised I had to wait over an hour in line just to get in. The sound was terrible: it kept breaking, splitting, and there was so much static. None of the horns were mic'd up properly so you could barely hear them. The only sound that worked was the guitars plugged into amps and it was overpowering. The staff was also not equipped to deal with people fainting so that was a mess too. This place is notorious for rescheduling whole events and not offering refunds to the customers. You will be given multiple GMs (Jason, Khurram, Kai and David) names and numbers and they will each tell you, they are going to CALL an accounting company that will then CALL them back then they will CALL you. This is a lie. When you call them to check up on this refund, they will claim they are very busy but will handle it for you and ask for your last 4 of the card used to pay and email. They will do nothing with this information. After this, they add your number to a block list or decide not to answer. Even if you go to the event, you still have to pay a cover charge ON TOP of which can range from $20 -$50 depending on the show. Again the GMs names an information is Jason (240-543-575), Khurram (973-261-2756), David Novak (601-903-6405) Kai (240-750-3872). Besides this, as other reviews have stated already, The food and service is very dingy and not at all worth the prices. The servers are rude and mean and seem like you are bothering them. The venue is really big, but with that being said, there aren't enough tables. It isn't a night club, so people come to actually sit down, eat, drink and enjoy the vibes. There is more cabana seating that has to be paid for than regular tables. And the most of the regular tables are tiny! If you're hungry, I'd eat before you go! The flatbreads reminded me of something I ate at school as a child. The beef "empanadas" reminded me of mini tacos from 711. The tacos barely had anything in them, and the rice that comes with them is just white rice. The only good thing we had were the buffalo wings, but we had a few that weren't done. The drinks were good! But I will say they're high priced. Not sure why a bottom shelf Long Island cost the same as Deleon or their signature cocktails. The games are fun! Service was extremely slow, and the drinks were watered down. Then, to make matters worse, we were charged a large party gratuity, even though we were a party of three. The menu clearly states that the gratuity is for parties of six or more. When I asked the manager about the charge, I was told they "charge everyone that now." That might be your new policy, but there was no heads-up, and I had already left a tip--so essentially, I tipped twice. I recently visited here to grab morning brunch with a friend. I found it by chance as I perused Eventbrite. I'm glad I checked it out because it's a very colorful and inviting set up that's great for entertainment, events, and taking photos. It's such a large space with indoor and outdoor seating. My friend and I sat outside by the cabanas and it was a nice and sunny day when we visited, so that made it ideal to be outdoors. The food was OK to me. I ordered the Cubano. It was my first time eating one, so I don't really have a comparison point but I found the bread to be a little tough and the sandwich to be a little bland. We got a side of wings with old bay seasoning and that was decent. No complaints there. Where they excelled is probably with the drinks. Both my friend and I thought the drinks were pretty strong and this was just off the one drink we ordered. Service was pretty good. People seemed friendly and had smiles on their faces. So I have two very different experiences. I came here one night to axe throw and then we went upstairs to grab a drink and hear some music. on a whim. IT WAS PACKED. Someone was fighting when we got there, the bars were slammed and honestly I was OVER IT and quickly. I grabbed one drink that was TERRIBLE and just left. The ambiance is BEAUTIFUL. Which leads me to the next experience. My mom was turning 60 and needed a large venue. I mentioned this place because it was beautiful and the exact vibe she was going for. She rented this place for $9,000. No food was included. We did have an open bar for 2 hours. The manager told us we could bring outside food then renigged and said only dessert. Overall the party was a complete success. But she had to stay on their BACKS about cleaning the venue before the party so many things were filled with spots and dirt and just no attention to detail. Throw Socials staff doesn't reflect the ambiance of the place. The cursing, lack of urgency, eyerolling and not looking well put together. A hot mess. Awful simply awful! Went to an event LIME with FRIENDS today (July 4th., 2026). First off it was scheduled to begin at 3pm to 10 pm. Got there at 3:40 and was told that the club was behind on getting the place cleaned so it will now begin at 5 pm and we should walk up the block to Smokehouse and have something to eat and come back . Anyway we did and came back. Drinks were over priced. The place was dreadfully hot and two of the huge ceiling fans were not on. As it turned out they could not find the remote control to turn them on. They then decided to bring in a very large floor fan which had frayed wires and was not working until a young man who did electrical work got it working. Well someone from his group decided that only his group of friends should have to fan directed on them only. Finally they opened up the huge door to the deck and folks was able to cool off outside. Then to make matters worse the MC for the event got on the mic and started talking and talking about all kinds of shit that no one was very remotely interested in. His voice was awful. That really was the nail in the coffin for us, we left after two hours. We will chalk this one up to a "bust". All in all, the caribbean event LIME with FRIENDS was horrible and the venue should be shut down until they can get their stiff together. read more

Had my birthday here it was horrible. It took about 45 minutes for each drink to come out. The place was very dim. The service was very bad. It took them about 45 minutes to get our food to come out as well. I definitely will not be returning. Our reservation was at 10:30 and it was planned in advance and even when me and my friends got there we still had to wait an hour. The one in Florida was so much better. read more

Best part is the ambiance. Large, so you don't feel cramped, but HOT. If you come in with a jacket on, be prepared to take it off. They also have an outdoor area/bar with fire pits which is pretty cozy. I got the tropical lemonade, which was equal parts alcohol and sugary syrup/ingredients. It was DELICIOUS, I just can't help feeling like I consumed 1,500 calories with that $20 (with tip) drink. 9/10 taste, 7/10 value They have beer pong, connect 4, axe throwing, and more. You may have to fight for your spot for the games, as there are so many people that there is essentially always someone occupying the game, playing for however long.
