During 2018 H Street festival some friends and I stopped at a bar called Elroy. We was greeted by the owner I believe her name is Donna. This was a quaint bar as much of bars on H Street but it had a lively and friendly vibe. They offered happy hour drink special, and you can do hookah. The bartenders were on point. Downfall, Elroy don't serve food but you can bring your own food in from one of the local establishments. Elroy have a DJ and she was excellent. I would defiantly go back again and patronize this minority business.

The bathroom has a TV so you won't miss a thing...friendly service and a great addition to this end of the H St juggernaut.

Nomad offers no food just liquor and hookah. They also have cigars for sale but you're allowed to bring your own cigars. I had a Mango mint hookah which was considered to be one of their regular flavor options. The hookah was very flavorful and after about an hour - they changed the coals. The menu says that there's a 2 hour limit on the hookah. However my friend kept ordering drinks and therefore they didn't enforce that rule. You are allowed to bring food in and eat it as long as you're drinking. There are TVs inside and outside and there's music playing as well. The servers are attentive and friendly and I would come back.

They offer a nicely priced happy hour, if I remember correctly. They don't serve food. The drinks are pretty standard. I've never been wowed with my service here, but I've never been disappointed either. Nomad is pretty much a local neighborhood hookah spot that is just good enough. Would I go back? Sure I've been plenty of times! But don't expect fancy or glamour.

It was very fun, the service was good, the drinks were hitting AND everyone in there was friendly & was just having a good time. I was literally like this is finna be my new spot. I ordered the steak & cheese egg rolls and they were very good! NOW- you might ask .. so why is your rating a 2? I was lowkey always a bit paranoid being at Allure because it's so dark & small little holes in the floor/seating ends. A big a* roach ran by my foot from the couches & it was as big as a water bug but it didn't fly. Then !!!!! My sister and friends went like two weeks after. They was the first ones there for HH guess what ran out? A RAT - a big a* one too. They also said the vibe was a bit different. Too much smoke (cigarettes, weed, hookah) all in one. I really hate that a rat ran by them inside because I would've went back. Now I just can't. To know that I had some of the food there makes me nauseous. If you are not scared of them, go for the drinks. That's all.

The Gold Room DC has failed just as others. When we first arrived we requested Prosecco which they did not have. When given to other alternatives to the waiters (red wine) they didn't have that either. We opted for Moet Champagne along with 2 bottled waters. Which we were given plastic champagne flutes that clearly was reused. We drank directly from the bottles instead. Later another joined our group who actually went the bar to order a Jameson and Ginger Ale. While making the drink she noticed the bar tender attempting to use Sprite in her drink of Jameson. She politely said, I asked for ginger ale. The waiter stated, " we don't have ginger ale". As we continued, later we asked for 3 additional bottled waters. Guess what? They didn't have anymore bottled water... There's a Whole, foods, Walmart, and Giant on H Street. Did I mentioned someone pointed out the owners while sitting? The waitresses were the only positive asset. Genesis and Janet I believe there names to be. Hookah guy- not too friendly. This place has so much potential but could most certainly use an uplift with the level of commitment, cleanliness, layout and decor. Very janky, hole in the wall vibes. Hope this review brings some light as would still like for us African Americans succeed in all aspects of business especially in our DC landmark areas.

I had no doubt that the food would be amazing and It exceeded my expectations. From the crab cake and grits, salmon cake and grits, sweet potato waffle, the chicken, ALLLLLL of It was bomb! Now, the waiting time was horrible. Not on the chefs part but the waiter we had was terrible. If we're paying for unlimited mimosas, It shouldn't take 30min just to bring us another round! We had to constantly request a carafe just so we wouldn't have to bother him. I'm not sure if he put in orders late or what, but It seemed that everyone was just sitting around waiting which isn't good when you're trying to get your business poppin. The manager said that he wasn't working with his original staff and he looked even more irritated. Be that as it may, It was no reason for us to have to badger our waiter. Other people had the same complaints so I know It wasn't just us.

They didn't come help us until we attempted to go upstairs which was closed. The hostess graciously gave us her table. We were handed happy hour menus and as we were ordering drinks we were told the price for shots is not $6 anymore it's $10. We opted for the lemon drop which was ok. We ordered wings, egg-rolls, and a quesadilla. The wings came out first. The hot honey is just ok, not really hot. The egg rolls came out next and they were pretty good. The quesadilla took forever... we assume they probably forgot it. It was poorly put together and did not come with sour cream or pico as advertised. When I went to order another drink I was told happy hour was over at 8. The menu states 9:30p. At that point we were over it. The menu also states they don't split checks and they have politely tipped themselves 20%... they did at least allow the two of us to split. The atmosphere was ok, music was cool mostly R&B... they also have hookah but if you prefer to roll up and smoke, you are welcome to do that right at your table as well. What I think was the owner walked through several times but didn't seem to customer service focused bc he never spoke. One of the employees got pizza from across the street and ate it at one of the tables... looked pretty good. Might be worth trying.
