- $30 hookie - quick with refills - bottles of water with hookah upon request - fun DJ on. Friday night - open late - they allow ypiu to bring food or order food - we had a hard time getting an uber to come on a Thursday at 4am we did not have that problem on Friday - enjoyed the hookah read more

It's the cheapest of the 3 hookah lounges on the block, but you get what you pay for. I got their basic hookah, mango flavor, which was $26. The hookah they brought me was something you'd get for your college dorm. Cheap plastic hose and it tasted NOTHING like mango. I've had much better for less even in the US. I will say though that the service was good. They don't serve food but you can bring it in and there's plenty along the street. After about 10 pm on a Saturday night they play the music LOUD and it's a lot of the trap/thotcore stuff i.e. Megan thee Stallion, Cardi B, Nikki Minaj, City Girls, Drake, DaBaby, that kinda stuff. If you want a cheap-ish place to chill and listen to some hotunes while you watch the game then it's the spot. read more

Small and clean hookah bar located in Adams Morgan. They do not serve alcohol but the hookah was nice. And the music was good. The owners were really nice and accommodated our party of 6. I would revisit ... read more

Exotic Hookah Lounge - a table full of drinks and snacks - Hookah Bars Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

My local, go to hookah lounge. Ownership and colleagues are very friendly. If you're looking for a Dc feel and not something commercial this is where you want to go. A while in the wall, well priced hookahs with friendly people. read more

I may be a little too bougie for this hookah bar...or I'm just not use to small hookah lounges. I can see this place being good during the week, just to smoke hookah, but on a weekend, good luck! Came here on a Saturday with 7 people, good thing we came around 10:30, if it was any later we probably wouldn't have got in. The place had about 7 tables, with sofas around them. Couches were somewhat comfortable, nothing special. If you're looking for a place to do hookah with friends and have conversation, may not be the place for you. You can barely hear yourself think. The music was so loud we actually asked if the DJ could turn it down a little, of course that was the no. The service was somewhat good, just wish she came around more to change to the coal. We had to ask her twice to come change the coal. Also, no alcohol, and $3 cover charge! read more

Exotic Hookah Lounge - Hookah Bars Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I've been coming here for years I even spent my 25th birthday here last year. They have the best music on the weekends but most importantly the best hookah! It's a nice chill spot during the day and the week. They have a really nice set up. Even though it can get a bit packed during the weekend my friends and I always have a good time! They only take cash so for those who generally don't carry cash (like myself) make sure you make that trip to the ATM before you come in! read more

I had my 24th birthday celebration here I love their music. They have really good hookah. They give off club vibes without the liquor. It's always pretty packed so I always recommend coming in early. Their go to flavor for me is Blue Mist. I love how attentive and intuitive their servers are. I never have to call for them to come over, they come over and change my coals and head right away without me having to wait for a really long time. Even when they are busy the servers are still just as attentive. I love the scene here I definitely recommend this hookah bar if you are in DC! read more

Trash! I came here with a group of my friends and chose not to smoke any hookah. This place said I had to pay $7 even if I wasn't smoking according to some "DC" law. Lies! Thankfully my bestie paid my way, because I was ready to walk out. Avoid this place like the flu. Small, dirty and ghetto. read more

Exotic Hookah Lounge - Old food they have the nerve to sell to people. - Hookah Bars Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

I found it! I've been all over the place in DC looking for a hookah lounge that is low key, mellow and most importantly good. This place exceeding my expectations in so many levels with the ambiance, prices and hospitality. The owner Ms. Rahel not only greeted me with her gracious demeanor, contagious smile but also with her friendship and cultural banters that makes me feel immediately at home among friends. She made me her special "exotic" concoction that I was able to appreciate and savor on my visit to this place. Thank you Rahel! read more

Best Hookah in town. Clean, friendly staff, reasonable price, and well above the rest

Went in on a Saturday night and this was the WORST hookah experience I've ever had. It was loud and crowded. They sat us right in front of the speakers and we couldn't even hear each other if we were yelling. The hookah wasn't smoking well and i asked for a new coal but the worker told me to get more than a second coal we would have to buy another hookah. Cover was $5, hookah was $26. Complete waste of money. Do not go here! read more

When I walked in the music was live, I was feeling the vibe, but then I noticed I was the only one because there was NO one in sight. Now I must admit it's the night before Thanksgiving and that maybe why the crowd was non existence. Overall music stayed live!!! read more

Exotic Hookah Lounge - Good Music. - Hookah Bars Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

For my first time here, it was a nice experience. $5 at the door, an hour limit to smoke if there's people waiting but your time can be extended if not and good music. I didn't have to wait around someone addressed me and my friend as soon as we came in read more

This is a great place to chill out, smoke a hookah, and work on the weekdays. It has hookah, reliable wifi, tea and red bull. It may have other things as well, but I'm a simple guy. The real attraction to me is the atmosphere. There is no hassle, no pressure, no bs, it's just a good place to be left alone or hang out with friends. It's also in a good location, near the restaurants and bars (they are open late most nights, and I mean 4am late). I hear that it gets more lively on the weekend nights and that they even have a dj, but I've never been there on a Friday or Saturday. The people that work their are friendly and attentive. I almost took one star away for the lack of food options during the day, although I think they serve some bar food on the weekends. Honestly, hookah lounge food doesn't usually appeal to me anyway, but this might put some people off. Compared to other places the hookah is inexpensive (like $8 or so during the afternoon/early evening). Beats the hell out of Georgetown. read more

Super low key, during the week if you don't want a large crowd. Rahel is awesome and super friendly. Weekends tend to be a little more rowdy. read more

I'm not sure where the others who made reviews went to. There's a hookah spot one door down and I would never!!!!!!! However the owner at Exotic is so hospitable and kind. He checks on you makes sure you are well taken care of. It doesn't hurt that the hookah is amazing. This is definitely a place to go to if in Adams Morgan. read more

Exotic Hookah Lounge - the entrance to the restaurant - Hookah Bars Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

Nice little chill spot when it's not too packed. But if coming on a Friday or Saturday night expect to get in where you fit in LITERALLY. They have a live DJ that's nice. They play good music and the crowd is usually pretty friendly. They only accept cash..which is very bizarre to me. It's 2017 who still only take cash!? No food or alcohol either. Oh, and there's a "time limit" on busy nights. So we basically were told me had to leave after an hour even though we weren't done and still trying to order more hookah. Basically, this spot is probably nice during the week. But I probably won't return on a weekend. read more

Good hookah spot! Lit music on a Friday night, my man played soca to get the night started!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I've came to this place twice, tonight being my third and my last. In 20 minutes of being seated, we left. From the beginning to the end, the worst customer service I've had. The boy who severed us was really pressing my friend and I. When he brought us our hookah, he came back 5 minutes later and he said that we had an hour to be there. Then he came back again 5 minutes later and he told us we have to close out the bill when it get to our "30 minute mark". 5 minutes later, he comes back and asked us for the money. Every time he came to our table, he would touch my shoulder and be so close to me, I could feel his lips touching my hear. It was so uncomfortable. Once we paid, we left and so did other people. Music was trash. read more

I've been coming here for years. I guess you could say I'm a regular. They used to be called Crown Cafe but now it's Exotic hookah lounge. Remodeled the best way you could have possibly imagine!! Exotic provides you with two very different atmospheres. During the day, you can chill and relax for hours by reading papers, catching up on work, or watching live games. At night things are a bit more lively. They have a good Dj, also takes song request :-) They don't serve alcohol but they have different types of juices, tea, coffee and sodas. The Beef patties and sanbusa is delicious! I think they have it like every Friday and Saturdays! They offer wide selections of hookah flavors. My favorite one is orange/mint. They keep the pipes and bases very clean, which counts for a lot. The stuff is very humble and respectful. You can't beat their happy hour price $6.99 per a hookah till 7pm? Love it! read more

Used to come here all time before i turned 21... i dont know if it's still 18+ it's a pizza spot beside here that's good... the music and vibe in here good enough for 3 stars. No alcohol or food is lame. Place is hit or miss. read more

Really lit hookah bar I feel you like hip hop, gogo, reggae, Afro beats.... really good music and hookah

Had a good time Saturday night. The music they was playing was cool. One enjoyed my Rose flavored hookah. Only down fall was there was NO liquor. read more

Exoctic is typically my go to hookah spot in the DC area. On weekends they have a live DJ playing hip hop randing from the early 00s to today. This previous tine, I went with a group of 5 people and they told us the price was 2 for 45, which was fine. Because it is such a small space, we were standing for no more thab 10 minutes at the bar smoking our hookah. We were then seated for about 25 minutes before being told we had to buy another one or leave. I asked the young lady whats the time limit and she said 30 minutes! The previousl times I had been there the time limit was an hour and a half to two hours. They should let people know the time limit before people pay the $5 cover on top of the hookah. We lierally spend $75 for 30 minutes. If this is the actual policy, its not worth it. I wont be coming here again. read more

Not too shabby for Hookah in Admo. Went during a weeknight, wasn't packed at all except for a few people and what seemed to be friends of the family that owns the place. They have a wide variety of flavors, ranging from $15-$20. The guy who was working here was extremely attentive, checking on me every so often and keeping the coals hot. The reason I'm dropping a star from this review is because of the lack of booze or decent food/drink options. While they offer juice and tea, not even having beer was a huge disappointment (particularly when we figured this out after we had ordered our hookah). Additionally, it's cash only. Not sure why in 2015, but that is something to consider when you come here. I'd come back....but I'd be more inclined if they got a liquor license. read more

This was my first hookah experience and to be honest it wasn't the best. Don't get me wrong it was cool. We went there mid-week, during what I thought was happy hour but who know at this point. It was okay, the hookah could have been better, the music could have been louder, and the place just looked kinda run down...Maybe better on a Friday night, but during the week? The hookah flavor was lacking. read more

Hookah is good but the manager Umar is very curt when interacting with him. They play songs are played off "pandora" which I strongly do not recommend. Since the manager Umar was rude with me and the music and songs recommendation is not an option here. I will go to another hookah place on 18th street. The space is small and don't expect what you pay for!! Service is a double thumbs down. read more

I come to this spot often but Saturday night was terrible. Myself and two other people arrive around 10:10. We was smoking the hookah, having fun. 10:30 comes around and a dude that works there( he had on an Insomnia Cookies t shirt)comes to us and says "Y'all need to hurry up and close because it's getting busy". Mind you, he is continuously flirting with my girlfriend. Twenty minutes pass and he comes over again and says "Off no funny shit, you think I'm playing with you. I need y'all to pay right now." That's very poor customer service and I did not take it kindly. My group of people and another group was the only ones being approached when there were others there before us. Overall, I will not be returning! read more

I've been here a few times with friends. Hookah is good and the staff is very nice and helpful. Music is a good as well.

On a street w multiple hookah bars, Exotics is true to its name and the sign outside the basement venue, that reads "The best in town" in modest font. Indeed, what makes Exotics standout from its competitors: value happy hour prices, exorbitant customer service, quality hookah, and reliable wifi. Give it a try on weekdays if you are looking for a spot to do work or hang out with friends. Come to party on the weekends as there is often a DJ and a light show. Either way you are in for an authentic Adams Morgan experience. read more

Really laid back... good music & the hookah was inexpensive!!! I would've given it 5 stars, but they don't serve alcohol, the chairs are really uncomfortable... unlike any hookah lounge I've been to before. Also they don't take cards, so be prepared to take cash or pay a $3.50 surcharge. Really great for large groups to chill & hang out! read more

Decent place to hang out late if you don't wanna take it in early since it closes at 4am. The only downfall is they don't serve any liquor, strictly hookah. However, you can bring your own liquor in a clear water bottle. Oh and not to mention, the crowd can turn ghetto. read more

Would totally give a no star review if I could. False advertising..it's CASH only. What's the point of having an ATM machine in the shop when they don't have cash inside their machines? DO NOT COME HERE. My review has nothing to do with the waitress and the service. It only concerns the owner. As you can see, the profile states that this establishment accepts credit cards. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. THE ATM ALSO HAD NO CASH. I witnessed the owner open the ATM and remove ALL of the cash. He then has the nerve to tell my friend and I to get cash from the same ATM he removed ALL of be cash from an hour before. He could not tell me why his yelp page says he takes credit cards when in reality he does not. He was also incredibly rude and confrontational when I asked why he removed all of the cash from the ATM. My friend and I did eventually (easily) get cash from another ATM. The owner needs to change the yelp page AND LET PATRONS KNOW CREDIT CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED PRIOR TO SEATING PATRONS. Again, DO NOT COME HERE. read more
