    Uncaged Chef Pop up menu

I went to 12-DC on a whim for the Uncaged Chef Pop up brunch/dinner. I had an awful dining experience! I ordered the shrimp and grits. The food was good however, the sausage that came in the dish was cold... as if it was fresh out the refrigerator! The dish comes with 8 shrimp, I only received 6. But the real icing on the cake were the hairs I found at the bottom of my serving dish .... GROSS! I'm not sure if this experience is indicative of 12-DC or the Uncaged chefs but I'm not happy! To add insult to injury, the yelp check in discount was not honored because it was a pop up. Cards and cash are accepted. Hookah is available. I wouldn't bring a large group to eat here as they do not have the space. Expect typical DC parking.

12Twelve is a new bar/lounge on H st. I came here on a Friday night with a few friends. The owner was VERY VERY nice. She made sure I was taken care of throughout the night. Great first impression!! Food- The food was seasoned very well and the portion was a pretty large. Drinks- The happy hour is until 9 pm. The prices for the drinks were BOMB, especially considering the normal prices in DC. $4 House Drinks, $3 Beers, $5 Long Island. Venue- This place has 2 floors. The first floor has bar/restaurant setting. 2nd floor is more of a lounge/club setting. It's very cute in here. Overall If you're looking for a new cute lounge in DC, I would recommend 12Twelve!

By no means is this a fancy venue which is located on H street however, what it lacks in visual appeal it makes up for in a great environment, really good prices, and quality service. I stopped here on a Tuesday (which apparently is their Taco Tuesday night) for a quick nightcap which turned out to be a great experience. The deals on this night included $2 tacos and $2 tequila including shots which is a hard bargain to beat. In addition to the deal they provide happy hour from 4pm-9pm which is awesome. The happy hour menu is fairly good with options ranging from wings to shrimp sliders. They have a decent sized dining area but at this time most of the guests were at the bar which is a good size not too large where you need multiple bartenders, but enough room to accommodate a decent sized crowd. The bartender was excellent, attentive and knowledgeable about the various drinks even with it being her first day as the happy hour drinks range from $5-$8 with several options from tequila sunrises to blue motorcycles. I highly recommend stopping by if your looking for affordable food, drinks, and great vibes.

There is Street parking only. Not busy during the day on the side streets. Mostly seafood and soul food. I don't know who the chef is.

We sat at the bar near the back and were immediately greeted. The bartenders were super kind and quick. They chatted with us, but didn't linger. It was a great mix. They also ensured our drinks, including our water, were always full. They also brought out some snacks (on the house) for us. Music was on, but not too loud. We stayed for awhile, and pretty soon we looked up and were like, oh my gosh, this place is packed! Pretty soon there were people everywhere and it was so loud. We decided at that point we wanted to head out, but the bartenders still made sure to say goodbye. We will definitely be back when we are back in DC. Great vibes, atmosphere, and service!

I had passed…read morethis place before but had never actually gone in, so we decided to stop in and check out the happy hour situation. Drink-wise, we had the frozen mango margarita, which was very tasty, and my lady had the pisco sour, which was also really good and refreshing. For food, they team up with Little Miner Taco. We started with a small order of beef nachos. The flavor was definitely there, but my only complaint was that the toppings were a little underwhelming portion-wise. I would've liked a little more meat and toppings spread throughout the nachos. We also ordered the three-taco meal and went with the steak tacos. Those were absolutely amazing. Great flavor and definitely something I would order again. My only issue with the tacos is how the ordering works. With the three-taco meal, all three tacos have to be the same flavor. Since it was our first time trying the food, I would've really liked the option to mix and match three different tacos. They do sell tacos individually, but at around $7.50-$8 each, buying three singles ends up costing considerably more than the three-taco meal, which was around $20. They also offer a larger variety pack, but you can't substitute any of the taco choices in that either. I think allowing customers to mix and match would make it much easier to try different things, especially on a first visit. Atmosphere-wise, it was cool and laid-back. We went pretty early, around 2 or 3 in the afternoon, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Our bartender, who I believe was V, was very helpful, attentive, and provided great customer service. Overall, I definitely enjoyed The Haymaker and would go back. There were a few other things on the menu that caught my eye that I'd like to try next time. Aside from wanting a few more toppings on the nachos and a little more flexibility with the taco options, everything was solid. Definitely a 4.5 out of 5 for me.

I am on their email list (and yes I read most of my emails that are of interest to me) and noted they had an Oktoberfest kick off party happening this week on Thursday evening from 6pm -9pm in their outside patio, so decided to come here. We showed up at 6pm on the dot and the place outside was already packed with people. They were having a live Oktoberfest trio band play, so that was cool! A lot of people were in their Oktoberfest garb/outfits, which was adorable. The challenge was getting a beer and a non alcoholic drink for my mom. They had nothing NA for her and she ended up just having a glass of ice water. I got in the mobbed line and had a Kellerbier, which was brewed especially for Franklin's and Oktoberfest. They had an issue with their handheld payment device so that made the line longer. Beer was fine, but wished I could have gotten my mom a lemonade or iced tea. The other issue was the seating. We opted to sit over in the sandbox/kids area and the picnic tables didnt feel like the best use of space. The trio band was lovely and played some nice tunes including Edelweiss which is one of my favorite songs ever (yes I loved The Sound of Music and have watched this so many times as a kid with my mom) but it would have been nice to see the band more in the center of things, closer to the bar hut. They were serving up German sausages and huge pretzels but the line for beverages and food was so long that I didnt bother to purchase food. This was a great idea and I hope that the next one they do, they can iron out some of the wonky kinks. I'd come back again for an Oktoberfest for sure. My mom and I had a great time!

That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed.
