The service was excellent. The music was great! Good vibes all around but the salmon was dry!

This review is for the food not the service…read more The interior gives off a nice vibe and they have a set up for a live band. I'm sure when it's peak time it's live in there so I'll have to come back for an event. Went around noon on a Sunday and it was fairly empty so we sat at the bar and were serviced immediately. Strawberry lemon drop - 10/10 - I love a good lemon drop but a I'll never pass up a flavored one. No notes. Shrimp & Grits - 5/10 - don't get me wrong it was GOOD but it was too rich/cheesy to me. I don't know what I was expecting in terms of cheese but I've never had soooooo much cheese in an order of shrimp and grits. I legit pulled a mound of cheese off the top and it was still too much. I couldn't finish this unfortunately, even taking them home for another day didn't work because I couldn't take the richness. Not a slight to them, just a no for me. There was a great amount of shrimp in the dish and the consistency of the grifts were amazing. Just need something to cut through the richness. My friend had: Omelette - 10/10 - said they enjoyed it and would get it again Side of bacon - 10/10 - you got 6 pieces with the order and that was solid to me. I'd definitely come back and try something else on their brunch menu if given the chance. It's a bit out the way so I couldn't see myself traveling for it but if I was in the area I definitely would come back.

Just one other group of me, maybe some jazz music in the background, while we watched Basketball on the screen Best part about SOBEs was Mrs. Elaine, the bartendar. I would rate the food a 2.5/5. I had the shrimp tacos, which lacked flavor. The shrimp was bland. The Bang Bang shrimp was lacked flavor also. We barely touched these, so disappointing. People started showing up @ 7pm. which was $20 to get in. An AMAZING live cover band played at 9pm. By 7:45 pm, there was also a live DJ playing classic hip hop and RnB. That was such a VIBE! The crowd got really thick for the band, you literally had to push your way to the bathrooms. Bathrooms also need napkins to dry your hands with, instead of the nasty air hand dryers

That's the main reason we decided to go. The two other people I was with smoke cigars. I don't do neither one (hookah or cigars) but was willing to check it out with them. The owner was super nice and answered all of our questions. So, I would say the service was fine. However, he quickly explained how it was not a cigar lounge because the furniture would not be able to withstand the cigar smell, only the hookah one. There were approximately 10 people in the lounge, which made it "crowded". One thing I noticed was the decor. Nice furnishings and absolutely STUNNING photographs hanging on the wall. It gave a sultry vibe. They don't serve real food there, just bites. However, we didn't really inquire or stay longer than 5 minutes to eat. We had eaten at another location. Overall, if you're into hookah and a lot of smoke everywhere (in a SUPER TINY) local spot, this is your place. I don't see myself returning. There's nothing there for me.

I visited Myste for a private event, and while the space itself is very aesthetically pleasing, the…read moreoverall experience was disappointing, mainly due to the food and service. The lounge is on the smaller side, which actually worked well for the event and gave it an intimate vibe. The owner was also very nice and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The menu is extremely limited, and you pretty much have to piece together a meal from a few items. I ordered the jollof rice and six-piece chicken wings. The wings were overpriced, overcooked, and had no flavor at all. The only options were sauces on the side (honey, ranch, or blue cheese), and when I specifically asked for honey drizzled on top with blue cheese on the side, that request wasn't followed. Even more frustrating, our server never came back to check on us or make sure everything was okay. The jollof rice was honestly the worst part. Instead of that rich, smoky flavor you'd expect, it tasted burnt with a harsh charcoal aftertaste. I've had jollof rice many times before, and this was nowhere close. I ended up sending it back. Because I was hungry, I forced myself to eat the wings, even though they were dry and lacked flavor. Overall, Myste Lounge has a nice look and potential, but the food and service really need improvement. A revamped menu and better attention to guests would make a huge difference.

1 Star - Save your money and go somewhere else…read more My experience at CK Lounge was terrible from start to finish. This place is extremely overpriced and the service is some of the worst I've experienced. They automatically charge a very high gratuity, which is ridiculous considering how poor the service actually is. We waited almost TWO HOURS for our food and hookah to come out. Two hours at a lounge that charges premium prices is completely unacceptable. During the entire night, the smoke detector kept going off, and you could clearly hear it over the music. It completely ruined the atmosphere and made the place feel poorly managed. To make things even worse, the place looked unprofessional and poorly maintained. We even noticed bags of salt being used to hold up chairs, which says a lot about the condition of the place. CK Lounge charges luxury prices but delivers bottom tier service and a chaotic experience. Between the long waits, loud smoke detector, forced gratuity, and unprofessional setup, this place is simply not worth it. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else.

I spent a few evenings in this place, mostly out of necessity. It's located in the Greenbelt…read moreMarriott and as I was without a car, there weren't many other options. Luckily, it more than fit the bill. The atmosphere is definitely more like any other bar you'd go to rather than a hotel bar. A good L-shaped bar with plenty of seats, lots of tables of varying size and height. And plenty of TVs with a variety of games (in this case, college basketball, hockey, NBA). The food menu I believe had just been redone and was imaginative. The Cuban sandwich was a hit (outstanding bread, good size, plenty of meat, I could only eat half), as was the crab cake balls appetizer (worthy of the Maryland crab expectation). Seeing the other food that came out, nobody seemed disappointed. The portions per price wasn't the best, but it certainly was palatable (no pun intended). I might have wanted a few more evenings to sample the fare. The diversity of drinks was a plus, and a minus. They had a number of local bottles and taps, but seemed to be out of a few of them (or they were doing the "dreaded" keg change that rendered them foamy). Seems like a little bit better management here might help (it could very well be I just caught them on a few bad nights). Bartenders were very attentive and the service was quick. Most of the patrons were travelers, many by themselves so there were a lot making conversation for those who were solo. Would I make a special trip to this bar if I were in the area? Probably not. It would be a great place to meet friends after work and it was definitely a plus for someone like me without many travel options.

For one, the main dining area of the restaurant is closed off by some bench, and there is this big back area with a giant bar and a bunch of high and low tables. There is no sign that specifically says to go back there, but honestly there is nowhere else to go. But if you just follow the corridor you will see a door that may or may not be open. Go through it and you are where you are supposed to be. Anyways, I think the spot still has regulars, but I have seen a lot more people closer to my age and I don't feel so out of place. Also the staff are really friendly. The happy hour specials are great and overall the food is reasonably priced outside of that too. And I mentioned that I couldn't have more than one drink because of how strong they are?!

I've seen reviewers say that the service was slow here, however I didn't experience the same service. My chicken arrived about 10 minutes after k placed my order and as I said above, my drink was made in a minute or less. There is a restaurant section to this place, however it was closed during my visit. They also had really good music.I would return again.
