The snapper alone is worth the visit--beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor. Pair that with attentive service and an atmosphere that effortlessly delivers on both ambiance and vibe, and you've got a spot that truly stands out.

I hadn't been back since they initially opened years ago. I know! Shame on me. My initial visit had many hiccups and sadly I hadn't felt the desire to return. This time I sat at the bar and had great service from Cameron. The happy hour specials are decent. I enjoyed the watermelon lemondrop with vodka - there's an option for tequila! It wasn't too sweet and really couldn't taste the alcohol. I also got some jerk wings. They didn't taste very much like jerk. I probably wouldn't get them again. The space is nice and I'm sure brunch is fun. I'll come back for that.

Well I have been waiting to try this place out. So glad I finally did. I met a friend here. We arrived at 05:30. They open at 5pm. There was only two other customers when we arrived. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server name was Sunny. She said she was also the bartender. She was very attentive. Checked on us regularly and was very friendly. My drink was awesome! Not strong but just what I needed to take that drive back home. We both ordered the Po boy shrimp sliders. It came with fries. Also ordered the shrimp egg rolls. I hear they have performers here at times. Also would love to check out the drag brunch. Happy hour menu is very reasonable. Would love to return for the entertainment. Just keep in mind the restaurant is small. I could see it getting really crowded on a busy day. I still would return though. I enjoyed my visit.

I went here on a Sunday evening to listen to some live music. The crowd was light, maybe 20 or so ppl. The band and singer were really good. As far as food, I only had lemon pepper wings and garlic fries. The fries weren't good. The garlic was a sauce and actual seasoning. They were soggy and tasted slightly undone. The wings were decent. If you want all flats then there's a $4 upcharge which means you're paying $24 for 8 wings‍. I ordered a glass of Rose which was flat and $18. I'll continue to go for the music. That's about It.

Came here on a Saturday night with reservations and was seated right away. When it first opened, it was rumored to be an "upscale" establishment, but in my opinion, it's more on the level of a regular restaurant or sports bar. They have huge TVs and were streaming the college football games. Initially, seated, the waiter was attentive, but after we placed our orders, I promise you, we didn't see our server again. While walking by to wait on other tables, he did apologize and said he had a big party come in... that party had six people. I ordered the pork chops because they were supposed to come with Granny Smith apples. I didn't get the apples (lol), and the pork chop wasn't seasoned at all! The potatoes were okay, but the star of my plate was the creamy spinach. That alone was an A+. My drink was pretty good as well. I don't have the desire to come back, but hey, I'll try any place at least once.

I've been looking to try this spot for a minute. I ended up going at 5pm on Thursday so we were able to partake in happy hour. They had a decent variety of drinks to choose from that were approximately $10. The service was good, not 5 star but good. The food was underwhelming. We got the wagyu sliders which came with fries. They were decent, but not mind blowing. The shrimp and spinach quesadillas were tasty, but you were truly only given half of a quesadilla. The lamb chop lollipops were a good serving, but the seasoning wasn't great and they were overcooked which made them dry. I would go back, but it definitely wouldn't be a place that I put in regular rotation.

My first time here and for a birthday party. The vibe was ok, it's pretty standard lounge with Afro beats and ampiano music. On the other hand, the food was amazing! Between the whole snapper and seafood pasta, I was highly content. And the portions were just enough to ease my hunger without feeling overstuffed. Everything was well seasoned, not too salty, a lot of flavor and really took into account the cultural aspects of the dish. The service was standard as well but we always had someone constantly checking on us which we appreciated. This is a great place to satisfy any Caribbean or African cuisine craving and a patio for outdoor vibes where hookah is available

Blvck Cow is located at Bowie, almost at the middle of the suburb so there will be ample parking. We made a reservation on a Saturday evening and so were seated immediately upon arrival. The ambiance is okay, I was expecting the inside to be a little bit more upscale but it was more casual than I expected. There is also outdoor seating but we opted for indoors on a hot summer night. If you like some heat in your food then this is your spot. We started with the oxtail flatbread, which was really tasty but I think the oxtail flavor wasn't distinctive enough, regardless I enjoyed it. I also ordered one of the pasta dishes which came with assorted seafood - the mild flavor had a kick, but the pasta sauce was so creamy and tasty. The portions were also pretty good, I ended up taking some of it to go. Service was really pleasant from staff, but slow. It seemed to get busier as the night went on so our waitress took a little bit before getting to our orders. If you're looking for nice Caribbean/ Jamaican food in the area definitely stop by!

This was my first time at Black cow, and I was really impressed. The drinks were so good. I had a black raspberry martini, a peach lemon martini, and a watermelon lemon drop martini. My favorite was the black raspberry martini. I substituted the tequila with rum and it was delicious. For appetizers, I had the wings, a side of fries, and the oxtail pizza. That oxtail pizza was the star of the night. I would definitely recommend it and plan to come back. The bartender staff were so personable, fun, and hospitable, especially Martis and Madison. They really made the experience even better.

The food was AMAZING!!!! Everything we had was A+! Strongly recommend this place . The service could have been better . They had a DJ which was cool also. The ambiance is somewhat lounge type.

Joining some friends here tonight for a celebration of ribbon-cutting in DC. We had such a great time with the live music. The food was good, but the service was even better. I mean service to the level that I can't even explain from the host of the bartender to the server everyone was so attentive and the place was so well managed and organized. I dropped my knife on the floor at one point during dinner and the staff was so attentive that before I could move to pick it up, someone popped up out of nowhere, grabbed my knife, took it to the back and brought me a new one within seconds. We will be back.

Yes, what a beautiful place. I love the decor. I came during Happy Hour and I'm so glad I did. I love their Happy Hour menu. You can get small plates for affordable prices. My favorite were the lamb-chops, seasoned and grilled to perfection. Next time, I want to sit outside, the set up is beautiful with the greenery and flowers. I need to get the girls together and enjoy a nice summer breeze night at the Blvck Cow!

Does the reservation fee go towards the bill? I just made a reservation on Resy and it charged $10 per person plus a $4 service fee

The $10 per person does go towards your bill but I don't think the $4 service fee will.

This place is extremely overpriced and the service is some of the worst I've experienced. They automatically charge a very high gratuity, which is ridiculous considering how poor the service actually is. We waited almost TWO HOURS for our food and hookah to come out. Two hours at a lounge that charges premium prices is completely unacceptable. During the entire night, the smoke detector kept going off, and you could clearly hear it over the music. It completely ruined the atmosphere and made the place feel poorly managed. To make things even worse, the place looked unprofessional and poorly maintained. We even noticed bags of salt being used to hold up chairs, which says a lot about the condition of the place. CK Lounge charges luxury prices but delivers bottom tier service and a chaotic experience. Between the long waits, loud smoke detector, forced gratuity, and unprofessional setup, this place is simply not worth it. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else.

Unfamiliar with the area, I jumped on yelp and found The Farmhouse with its 4.4 star rating. So there we went. The Waugh Chapel area is a giant shopping center. Wegmans, Old Navy, Verizon, etc. The Farmhouse is in a new building near the man road. Their whole thing is farm to fork, with some herbs and greens grown on site and others sourced locally. The service is great! Fast and friendly. Instead of bread or rolls, they warm you up with some country style homemade cornbread. Freshly baked, cast iron skillet, with butter and syrup. Yum! We had the meatloaf and the chicken and chicken and biscuits. The meatloaf was tasty, with homemade mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked fresh green beans. The chicken and biscuits is kind of like a chicken pot pie without the crust. The biscuits are on top so you can decide how much bread you want. The vegetables are nice and fresh, and the chicken is perfect white meat. A++ on both entrees. For dessert we had half-baked, which is an ooey gooey cookie and a brownie in a cast iron skillet topped with ice cream. We liked it, but next time I'll probably have just ice cream because the ice cream was absolutely perfect. Where are you? Stevensville? Baltimore? Solomon's? Alexandria? DC? You should make the drive to Waugh Chapel Station and get some fresh, delicious, better- than-home-cooked food.

When we arrived, our table appeared to be ready right at our reservation time, but we still had to wait to be seated. It wasn't a long delay, but it was a bit confusing and felt like a service issue. The ambience is beautiful and well done, and the bathrooms were clean. The food itself was solid across the board, and the chicken and biscuit was actually even better the next day as leftovers. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest drawback. Refills only happened when we asked, and splitting checks for a large group was more difficult than expected. At one point when a correction was needed, a member of our party noticed the server visibly rolling her eyes, which didn't help the experience. Drinks are also served by the can rather than fountain style, which made them feel overpriced without refills. For a place that presents as upscale, the experience shouldn't feel nickel-and-dimed. Overall, nice atmosphere and good food, but the service needs improvement before I'd consider returning.

The owner was super nice and answered all of our questions. So, I would say the service was fine. However, he quickly explained how it was not a cigar lounge because the furniture would not be able to withstand the cigar smell, only the hookah one. There were approximately 10 people in the lounge, which made it "crowded". One thing I noticed was the decor. Nice furnishings and absolutely STUNNING photographs hanging on the wall. The lounge is on the smaller side, which actually worked well for the event and gave it an intimate vibe. The owner was also very nice and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The menu is extremely limited, and you pretty much have to piece together a meal from a few items. I ordered the jollof rice and six-piece chicken wings. The wings were overpriced, overcooked, and had no flavor at all. The only options were sauces on the side (honey, ranch, or blue cheese), and when I specifically asked for honey drizzled on top with blue cheese on the side, that request wasn't followed. Even more frustrating, our server never came back to check on us or make sure everything was okay. The jollof rice was honestly the worst part. Instead of that rich, smoky flavor you'd expect, it tasted burnt with a harsh charcoal aftertaste. I've had jollof rice many times before, and this was nowhere close. I ended up sending it back. Because I was hungry, I forced myself to eat the wings, even though they were dry and lacked flavor. Overall, Myste Lounge has a nice look and potential, but the food and service really need improvement. A revamped menu and better attention to guests would make a huge difference.

When I arrived they asked if we had a reservation and we didn't so they asked us to hold. I was worried we wouldn't get in but was very happy they found space for us. I must say everyone we encountered were very friendly (a tad slow at times but made up for it with friendliness). Their signature sweet tea is to die for - the mint infused delight was so great it was worth a second glass! The milk and honey latte was a hot cinnamon joy as well. I ate the smothered chicken and biscuits. It has a slightly spicy Cajun sauce, I got to pick the style of eggs and I opted for scrambled. Good choice! The biscuits (2) were soft and the chicken and eggs paired with them well. The chicken was a bit tougher to cut so they should offer people a steak knife or something sharper than a butter knife to cut it. But that is a mild complaint because the dish was delish. I also tried the berry French toast. It was super thick and, while it was a bit light on berries, the flavor was good and so was the syrup. One of the two slices tasted a bit on the greasy side but I still ate quite a bit of it. I finished the meal off with a fabulous sweet potato bread pudding. I love bread pudding and this was my first sweet potato variation to the dessert. Me likey....me likey a lot! This is my new favorite bread pudding, hands down!
